OIM 9.1 and OAM 10g integration document
Hi,
Could you please provide me any link or document for OIM 9.1.0.2 integration with OAM 10g ?
Thanks

Within OIM, once you have configured OAM to pass a header variable, it's just 2 parameters that change in the OIM xlconfig.xml file.

Good day,
I'm working in Oracle Forms Builder 10g (10.1.2.0.2) and I keep coming across functions in the PL/SQL code that are used to modify values in the forms. Unfortunately I don't have a design document for my system so I can't tell the API of these functions. I think some of the functions may be standard functions in PL/SQL or Oracle Forms Builder. Would anyone be able to point me to a resource that can explain how to use each of these functions?
go_item()
go_block()
find_item()
get_item_property()
set_item_property()
get_block_property()
set_block_property()
get_window_property()
set_window_property()
get_item_instance_property()
set_item_instance_property()
There are several custom functions in the system as well, where should I look to see where they are defined?Hello Thomas,
Those are all Forms functions. I would suggest you download the PDF [url http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/documentation/10g-forms-091309.html]documentation for Oracle Forms. I use the PDF manuals all the time. Another good source is the online-help by simply selecting Help => Online Help and then searching for the particular function name or the like.
Good luck,
Don.

Is there any difference between 9i and 10g Version of Oracle database with respect to Advanced Replication concepts, implementation procedures and methodologies. I mean is 9i Advanced replication concepts are same in 10g or in 11g.
Looking for guidence.

Looking For 9i - 10G Differences Document
Does anyone know of a good document that spells out the differences/changes between Oracle 9I to Oracle 10G when upgrading ?
Anything I need to be concerned about within my databases such as data types or column lengths ??
I already have the "New Features" document
Thanks
JimThe new features (if you refer to the one found at the regular oracle documentation site) is ok to understand the differences between versions, but it is not thoroughful, it just points out the new features found on 10g, if you want to detail some of them that may be of interest to you you should look for the specific topic on the concepts, and administration manuals.
For upgrade purposes you should address to the upgrade guide and get familiar with the issues during this upgrade process.
Ref. Oracle® Database Upgrade Guide
10g Release 2 (10.2)
Part Number B14238-01
I don't understand what you mean by 'data types or column lengths', may be you mean the Datatype Limits.

I need to replicate, at the transaction level, about 20 tables from MSSQL2K to an Oracle 10g RAC environment. This is an OLTP hybrid db and data needs to be as close to real time as possible. I currently replicate from a MSSQL7 box (10g is replacing this) to the MSSQL2K box and use what Microsoft calls transaction replication. I also have a few large job that run on the host/published data and Microsoft allows me to replicate the stored procedures (and execution of them) to the subscribers. This eliminates the massive amount of transaction to replicate and runs the same procedure at the subscriber(s), I would need the Oracle to MSSQL solution to offer something to allow this as well.
I am considering Oracle Streams. Is there a better solution?
Regards,
Charles Deatonhai,
I am also in the process of replication. I tried the procedure
in the following link but got stuck up at one point and have
posted thread regarding that. Have you tried the procedure
in the following link.

Please let me know if you succeed in replicating 10g
in windows 2003 server.

AzizWhat do you mean with training document? Is it Oracle's "Oracle University Student Guide"? Oracle prohibits to share it (power point slide and pdf version of book)
If you want "Step by Step explanation" of how to configure Oracle RAC, then there're dozen of documents written about it on the web

Oracle 9i & 10g replicated to MSSQL 2005 Enterprise: Problem !
Hi,
I have been doing some oracle 9i and 10g Replication to MSSQL 2005 Enterprise Database using the SQL 2005 Server Enterprise replication tool. This is working great, however, we recentrly had some problems on the Oracle side getting errors on new connection for both 9i and 10g servers. Only restarting the server has solved the problem so far....
The complete procedure to to this setup is available on Microsoft Technet:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sql/2005/technologies/repl_quickstart_for_oracle.mspx
If anyone could help me regarding the problem on new connections problem I would appreciate
Here are the errors we are getting:
10g Agent connection Error on the Database 10g:
Timestamp=Jul 4, 2008 2:29:03 PM EDT
Severity=Critical
Message=Failed to connect to database instance: ORA-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection (DBD ERROR: OCIServerAttach).
10g Agent connection Error on the Database 9i:
Timestamp=Jul 10, 2008 10:51:16 AM EDT
Severity=Critical
Message=Failed to connect to database instance: ORA-04031: unable to allocate %s bytes of shared memory ("%s","%s","%s","%s") (DBD ERROR: OCISessionBegin).
Notification Rule Name=Send Email For Database Event
Notification Rule Owner=SYSMAN
Notification Count=1
The clients applications are having similar errors when trying to connect. This seems to be happening after replication has been running for a while (1 -2 weeks) on the SQL server 2005 side...
We are using Snapshot Replication for the 10g database (every 20 minutes)
and transactional replication on the 9i database...
We are replicating 28 tables from the 10g database (500Mb Via Snapshot Replication)
And 171 Tables for the 9i databases (Near 3Gb Via Transactional Replication)
Thanks for the help !Here is an error from the 9i database Client: (this seems to be correct %s values)
ORA-04031: Unable to allocate 20236 bytes of shared memory("shared pool", "unknown object", "sga heap(1,0)", "session param values");

Compile error with Jdev 10g Preview
I am trying out Jdev 10g with JHeadstart. I followed the instruction on the Oracle JHeadstart 10g and Oracle JDeveloper 10g preview document, and then used the isnstructions on the NewJhsProjectInstructions.html document.
The first time I tried to compile the project, I got a whole list of errors which looked like;
/usr/oracle/jhs904/jheadstart/src/jhsruntime_source.zip!/oracle/jheadstart/model/bc4j/JhsApplicationModuleImpl.java
Error(143,31): cannot access class oracle.cle.persistence.HandlerNotFoundException; file oracle/cle/persistence/HandlerNotFoundException.class not
This was due to Jdeveloper trying to compile jhsruntime_source.zip. I removed this from the java source path and added jhsruntime.jar.
I am now getting thisError(22,53): cannot access class oracle.jheadstart.model.bc4j.handler.DataObjectHandlerImpl; file oracle/jheadstart/model/bc4j/handler/DataObjectHandlerImpl.class not found error;
I have checked, and cinfirmed that the class file oracle/jheadstart/model/bc4j/handler/DataObjectHandlerImpl.class is in jhsruntime.jar.
The Java Source path in Jdeveloper is ;
/home/chandana/jdevhome/mywork/JHS/src;/usr/oracle/jhs904/jheadstart/lib/jhsruntime.jar.
Can some one tell me what is wrong ?Hi Chandana,
You should not put jhsruntime.jar in the Java Source Path. It should be in the Additional Classpath.
The Java Source Path (Project Settings - Common - Input Paths) should only contain /home/chandana/jdevhome/mywork/JHS/src .
If you created the library JhsLibs the way it was described in the JDev 10g document, your project should now compile correctly. The JhsLibs library ensures that your project can compile against jhsruntime.jar (amongst others).
Hope this helps,
Sandra Muller
