  • How to hide port number??

    Hi All,
How can we hide the 10g OCS port number, so that people from outside my office network can't access the server. This is for security reason. Or any other solution for this.
My installation is on single machine. Please help me.
    Thanks

    Hi!
I can think of two possibilities:
    a) Protect your machine by a firewall
    b) Before using the Collaboration Suite, people need to log in; don't give them accounts
The documentation describes in detail how to secure a OCS installation, although I believe that your environment will differ greatly with those described. Most of the examples focus on protection towards the internet.

  • Crystal Reports Server 2008 - CMC Login Error - Bad Port Number in CMS Name

This post is similar to previous post: Error: Bad port number in CMS name fe80:0:0:0:152f:77a:382d:6d8e:6400 null - which remains unanswered.
In this case, I have installed a full licensed version of CRS 2008 on Windows Server 2008. I'm using Tomcat 5.5 and IIS 7.0.
The error we get when trying to log into the server using SERVERNAME:6400 (the default), is:
u2022Error: Bad port number in CMS name fe80:0:0:0:6509:bde9:93bf:f9de:6400 null
We neglected to install IIS prior to installing CRS, so when we realized our error, we installed IIS and then uninstalled/reinstalled CRS 2008.
Prior to reinstalling CRS, the CMC allowed us to login with no problem, which leads me to suspect that CRS may not have uninstalled cleanly.
Can anyone help me to understand what causes this error, and what steps can be taken to resolve it?

    Hi,
Try to check the port number 6400 is assigned properly to CMS. Please make sure that its not assigned to any other Products.
    Thanks,
    SK.

  • 10G Reports download in 11g

    Hello All
I downloaded the sample reports for OIM in BI Publisher 10G but I want to use 11g based on better security capabilities. I was wondering if there is a way to import the 10g reports from the download into 11g? I found a couple documents on the ua.bat utility for upgrading repositories and catalogs, but I don't have a 10g install to copy any of the data from. Do you know if it is possible to install the 10g reports on the 11g server? I have the jdbc connection already setup, just need to get the report samples uploaded if possible. Any help you can give would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Nick

Hello, I had the same question a while back. Response I got back from Oracle Support was that it's not possible to export a report from 10g and import into 11g. You either have to recreate the entire report or upgrade the repository.
Seems a bit short sighted to me from a migration standpoint, but that's what I know.

  • Porting from Oracle 10g AS to Oracle 11g Weblogic server

    Hi,
I am trying to port J2EE applicatin from Oracle 10g AS to Oracle 11g Weblogic Server. I have jsp files which contains sql code embedded to fetch data from the DB. The components used in this application are Java, JSP, Servlets and Stateless session beans.
I have a commonjar which is used to create DB Connection manager and other common stuff which is present inside web-inf/lib. My application is packaged as an ear and which contains the war and different ejb-project.jar files. When the Stateless bean is trying to call the ConnectionManager class, which is present inside the commonjar inside web-inf/lib, I get InvocationTargetException. When I debugged in Eclipse, I see that that inside ejb the reference ConnectionManager, the variable cannot be resolved. So I guess at runtime, ejb is not able to locate ConnectionManager Class.
I tried to copy this jar to APP-INF/lib and the same jar is present inside web-inf/lib as well. In that case what happens is the jsp fails with the exception ConnectionManager cannot be resolved.
How can I make the ejb work by keeping the commonjar inside web-inf/lib alone.
    Any help or suggestions?
    Thanks
    Raj

The classloader hierarchy in WLS looks like this (arrows denote inheritance direction):
Java bootstrap classloader <- Java CLASSPATH classloader <- WLS $DOMAIN_HOME/lib classloader <- Application (e.g., EAR) classloader <- web app classloader <- single JSP classloader
The Connection Manager is loaded by the web app classloader while the EJBs are loaded by the application classloader so the EJBs have no visibility to the classes loaded by the child (web app) classloader.
The simplest fix might be to move the Connection Manager jar file to the EAR file's APP-INF/lib directory.
One word of caution though, you need to be using WebLogic Server's Data Sources and JDBC connection pooling to make sure that you correct transactional behavior if the application is doing any sort of JTA transaction (regardless of whether the JTA transactions are using XA or not...).
    Hope this helps,

  • Oracle 10g reports migration to Oracle 11g migration

I have migrated oracle 10g reports to Oracle 11g reports and generated REP file. But when we execute REP file using RWRUN.EXE I am getting below error.

to avoid this I tried below work arround which was posted in "https://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2365028" URL. but not success.
    1. Go to C:\Oracle\Middleware\asinst_1\config\FRComponent\frcommon\tools\admin
    2. Make a backup of the file 'cauprefs.ora'
    3. Open up the file in a text editor:
    --In the file, look for:

    ("oracle.reports.plugin.datasource.xmlpds.XMLDataSourceFactory",
    "oracle.reports.plugin.datasource.jdbcpds.JDBCDataSourceFactory",
    "oracle.reports.plugin.datasource.textpds.TextDataSourceFactory")
    --Replace the value to: Reports.PluggableDataSourceFactories = ()
    4. Save the file and try running Reports Builder again. Data Model should open up without crashing.
Could you please help me to resolve this issue.

When I use rwrun.bat report is not invoking i use below command line. I am executing rwrun.bat from C:\Oracle\Middleware\asinst_1\config\reports\bin path.

  • Changing the port number in 10g Discoverer- Middle Tier & Infrasctructural

Earlier I had insalled 10g discoverer which incudes both Middle Tier & Infrastructural Tier with default port numbers.
Now i would like to change the default port numbers to other port numbers. This is because , i am got to do another discoverer installation with default port numers.
In this case i have one question. Is it required to change all the port numbers that exist in the file "portlist.ini" of both Middle Tier & Infrastructural Tier.
What change still i need to do in Oracle 11i application front.
    Thanks
    Naveen

I did troubleshooting to verify the group, but this just changed the port number back to the default in the listener.ora & tnsnames.ora.
So I did all the steps again to change the port number from the default to another - via lsnrctl status, i see that the new port number is being used, I can also log in to the database via Toad using the new port number, in v$parameter i see that the local_listener is registered on the new port number....only under the Fail Safe manager, the port number (under listener parameter) has not changed....it still shows the default port number. Anyone know how to change this???

  • Migrating 10g report to Bi Publisher 11g

    Hello,
I have an existing 10g report from BI Publisher.
I would like to upgrade to 11g. in that process, i created a folder in 11g, with catalog menu option.
But when i try to upload existing datamodel from 10g, my upload fails.
Can any one advise on this?
Or should I create the data model from scratch by copying the existing data template query and pasting to the datamodel code tab section in 11g?
    please advise

  • 10g report won't run in 11g

    Hi,
I'm trying to migrate some reports from our 10.1.2.0.2 app server to an 11.1.2.0 one. The report I am currently working with compiles and runs fine in 10g Reports Builder, but when I copy it to the new 11g middleware server and try to run it, it gives me the following error:
    REP-1247: Uncompiled program units exist.
REP-1247: The report contains uncompiled PL/SQL.
There is no uncompiled PL/SQL in the report (that I can find), however googling this error it appears there could be something else wrong. I have been unable to get Developer 11g working on my workstation and I can't find a script to compile the report on the 11g middleware server. I am using a .RDF report and not a .REP one. Can someone help me troubleshoot this problem?
    Thanks
    Adam

    Hi,
you can try the following options
1- Run the report passing RECURSIVE_LOAD=no as parameter and see behavior
2- To compile all the reports you can use rwconverter and a windows script.
    Example
    @ECHO OFF
    REM WINDOWS COMPILE REPORT
    ::compile_report.bat
    cls
    Echo compiling Report .....
for %%f IN (*.rdf) do (
    <YOUR ORACLE_HOME>\bin\RWCONVERTER.bat USERID=user/pass@db BATCH=yes STYPE=RDFFILE SOURCE=%%f DTYPE=REPFILE OVERWRITE=NO
    ping 1.1.1.1 -n 1 -w 20000 > nul
    ECHO FINISHED COMPILING
    Hope this helps, Roberto

  • 10g express, how to change port number for the database home page

10g express uses port 8080 for its http listener. However this number has been used by Tomcat on my computer. How can I chang the port number for the 10g home page?
    Regards
    jl

Andy, thank you very much, I have been able to changed the port number following your advice.
I hope you do not mind I ask a further questions along this line:
I installed 10 express db on 2 computers. One with Tomcat and the other without. Following your advice, I successfully changed the port number on the one without Tomcat.
On the one with Tomcat, I believe it was because I installed the 10g express while the Tomcat was running, I can neither go to the 10g's home page (page cannot be displyed), nor logon to the database from sqlplus (ora-12560: TNS:protocal error) even after I shut down the Tomcat. By checking with 'netstat -an', it is known that the http listerner is not listerning.
Can I change some configuration file to solve this problem? Or do I have to reinstall 10 ex? I prefer the 1st aproach of changing config file, even it is not as easy as reinstallation.
    Thanks
    jl

  • Access forms 11g port number

    Hi,
Is there any way of getting the forms port number inside forms? I am running Forms 11.1.2.1.
Use case: The forms need to open up a help page in a new browser window. In my case, the forms are embedded inside an ADF page, which is running on a different port. By default, WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT takes the port number of the hosting page. However, all the help files are located in a folder inside the forms server.
One way is to put the forms URL as a parameter inside the env file and then access the same through forms, but that becomes a matter of user configuration. If possible I would like to use an out-of-the-box solution.
    Regards,
    Anirban

Ok, now I am confused. You suggested that the ADF environment/server is not the same as where Forms lives. So, there would be only two (maybe three) ways in which you could "embed" a form (java applet) into a web page. You can either hard code the applet parameters into the hosting page or create something like an IFrame within the page and use the typical url to call it. The third option could be to use java script to actually write the desired html dynamically (I won't get into these details).
In the first option, you would need to fully qualify parameters such as serverURL, archive, etc because the information needed for Forms lives on another server or in a different environment. And in this case, WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT would also need to be fully qualified (i.e. http://formserver:8888/forms/html/myhelp) again because the hosting page did not come from the same server as the form. The behavior would be exactly the same regardless of whether the call was made by Forms or any other application not originating from the same environment. This is not a "Forms" issue.
In the second option, if you use an iFrame the WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT call would use the server and port which launched the form in the iFrame. In other words, if the surrounding page (e.g. ADF) was called using http://abc:8888, but the form displayed in the iFrame was called using http://xyz:7777, WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT calls could successfully use a relative path rather than fully qualified. For example,
    <blockquote>WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT('/forms/html/myhelp','_blank');</blockquote>
In general, WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT would always use the url responsible for launching it in the first place. This would be true of any html or java app if you provided only a relative path rather than fully qualifying. Keep in mind that Oracle Forms does not perform any magic when calling WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT. This is merely a call to Java's showDocument method. Here is demo from java:
    http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/deployment/applet/browser.html
So I guess what I am saying is that it is unclear as to how you are "embedding" your form into the page and what exactly you are trying to do with WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT

  • Listener port number

    hi,
what is the range of port number of listener in 10g and 11g.
in google it has show only default port number.
    thank you

    user8647245 wrote:
what is the range of port number of listener in 10g and 11g.Default Listener port is 1521. Registered port for the Oracle Listener with IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority) is 1527 and not 1521.
You can however, in theory, use any port. In practice though, it is not that simple. And can be kind of stupid not to use the default or registered ports.
Ports 0 to 1023 are well known ports. These should never be used by any other applications like the Listener. On many kernels, only a root process can open a well known port.
Ports 1024 through 49151 are (IANA) registered ports. See RFC4340 for the registration process details. And this is where the Oracle Listener is registered as port 1527 - despite Oracle for many years using 1521 instead.
Generally speaking, keep to the default or use the the registered port. Do not arbitrarily change port numbers.
Ports 49152 through 65535 are private or dynamic ports. You should not ever use a port in this range as a listening end point for an application.
Okay, so why use specific ports for specific applications?
It comes down to network management and network performance.
Use arbitrary ports, and you mess sophisticated network designs horrible around. You can cause a negative network impact for your application due to how QoS (quality of service) are implemented. You can run into firewalls. You are not supportting the network folk in managing the underlying network infrastructure properly, enabling them to support your network application as you expect it to be supported.
So do NOT simply change the Oracle Listener port number. And no - changing it does not "improve" security either.

  • Port number is changing in the URL!

    Hello,
When i try to execute a webtemplate in the browser, the default port number(ICM profile configured in RZ10 icm/server_port_0 PROT=HTTP,PORT=8080,TIMEOUT=1800)is modifying in the URL to 8100, and unable to display the page. Again when i modify the port number to default portnumber manuall and the page/report is displayed.
Could you explain why the default port no is modifying in the URL? How can i solve this porblem?
Should i need to do some more configurations?
    Thanks...

    Hi Amie,
It is difficult for me to understand the problem. Could you please provide more information about the version of the J2EE Engine you use, the environment - cluster, nodes. If it is possible to copy/paste the HTTP request and Http response. What is this default port number that you mention?
Could you be so kind please to explain the problem once again in more details ?

  • Port number for ReportClientDocument

    Hi
While specifying the report app server in ReportClientDocument we specify only the host name/ip. We do not specify the port. Which is the port that is being used to connect and establish the link to the RAS ?
    Eg: We only do
    ReportClientDocument reportClientDoc = new ReportClientDocument();
    reportClientDoc .setReportAppServer("192.168.100.101");
So how can we specify the port ? It works without specifying (by taking a default), but I would like to know if there is a way to find which is the port and if we can override it ?
    Thanks
    Sreejith

You're using "Unmanaged Reporting" using the Report Application Server (RAS).
The listener port number is specified on the RAS server via the command-line option -ipport <port>, i.e., to specify the port number 2340, stop the RAS server using the CCM and add the following to the command-line:
    -ipport 2340
Then in code you'd specify the port via the URI:
    reportClientDoc .setReportAppServer("myhostname:2340");
For XI Release 2 and previous on Microsoft Windows installations, both the RAS server and the SDK uses default port 1566.  However, this is not so for Unix installations, or for both Windows and Unix installations with XI 3.0 and above, so the recommendation is to explicitly specify the -ipport and specify the port in code.
    Sincerely,
    Ted Ueda

One way to check is using Transaction<b> SMICM</b>. You can also try SE37 > RSBB_URL_PREFIX_GET. When you execute this function module, the Export parameters returned are what appear in your URL.
If there is a difference between what you see in SMICM and the Export Parameters, it means that somewhere the settings are wrong...your Basis team can help in that case.
    Hope this helps...
