10g Viewer: Runtime Error, Expected ')'

Hello,
Have you ever experienced such an error, or can you give me some advices.
We use :
Disco Viewer Version 9.0.4.43.15
Internet Explorer Version 6.0.2800.1106
Here is what happens:
This occurs when I select a varchar value from a LOV, this value starting with one/few spaces.
So, within Viewer, after opening the report, I press "Edit Parameters", then press the torch to access the LOV values and I select the value that starts with spaces (This value is displayed with Quotes in the LOV, in order, I suppose to show that there are spaces). I press "Apply", and the report gives its expected results.
Now, I decide to choose another parameter value, and I reopen "Edit Parameters", then, I press on the torch to display the LOV. The runtime error occurs at this stage.
The error details are :
"A Runtime Error has occured"
"Do you wish to debug?"
"Line: 249"
"Error: Expected ')' "
When I go further and press "Yes" or "No" in the dialog box, then I can access the LOV values, but the buttons "Cancel" and "Select" are now inactive and the only way is to close the window with "x".
I think it is because of the quotes, but I have no idea whether I can fix this by changing my IE settings.
There is no problem at all when I select a "normal" value with no spaces...
Can you please give me some advices ?
Thanks for your help,
Olivier

Alex,
You definitely found a bug that we did not know about until now.
Would it be possible for you to zip up your project and send it all to me at [email protected] or if it is a sensible project stopping you from sharing the diagram could you try to narrow down the problem to the classes and associations (the problem is coming from an association at this line of code) that are causing the problem ?
Thanks very much.
Dominique.

    Hi All,
we are using SAP BI 7.0, when running queries thorugh BI Portal we are getting one error saying that " java i-view runtime error, please contact your system administrator". once we got this error. i observed that this problem is occured due to user SAPJSF locked due to incorrect logons in BI ABAP system. if I unlock SAPJSF user we are able to run the queries from BI Portal. this is repetedly happing for us for every 15-20 days but not for fixed interval. we have ran the support desk tool and all the configurations we got is "green".
could any one please let us know
    1. why this SAPJSF user is getting locked and how to block
    2. how to prevent this user from getting locked.

  • JavaScript Runtime Errors in init.debug.js

I have a custom branding solution for a SharePoint 2013 site collection in Visual Studio.  When I navigate the site collection or debug the solution, I seemingly randomly get Unhandled Exceptions in the /_layouts/15/init.debug.js.  It's rather
0x800a03ee-JavaScript runtime error:  Expected ')' or 0x80070005 JavaScript runtime error:  Access is denied.  The first error occurs just navigating the site collection.  The second error occurs when I hover over the name with presence
at the bottom while editing an item.  I haven't edited this script at all, so what can cause this JavaScript that is in the hive to throw exceptions, and what is a good approach to debug it in order to get to the root of the problem?

Thank you for your response. I'm in a SharePoint 2013 development environment using IE10.  When I added the site collection as a trusted site in the local intranet zone in IE 10, I no longer get the JavaScript runtime related to the name of presence
and Access.  When I deploy the solution, I do not get any errors.  But if I debug in Visual Studio, the solution, which is set of features that installs a master page with custom navigation, I get this error when I navigate the site collection:
Unhandled exception at line 6784, column 13 in layouts/15/init.debug.js?rev=z/JdnR/rlmz5Wvyfz5qrBg==
    0x800a03ee - JavaScript runtime error: Expected ')'
The error occurs in NotifyScriptLoadedAndExecuteWaitingJobs in init.debug.js, and the call stack goes back to DeltaManager$_ScriptLoader in start.debug.js and eventually to the browserHandler, ScriptResource.axd.
init.debug.js, correct me if I'm wrong please, is a JavaScript that SharePoint adds during debugging.  If I go in the hive and add that ')' where it breaks, then everything breaks.  Why is this error thrown, and what is the rev parameter at the
    end of the query string?
The custom master page in the solution being installed has a line:
    <
    asp:ScriptManagerid="ScriptManager"runat="server"EnablePageMethods="false"EnablePartialRendering="true"EnableScriptGlobalization="false"EnableScriptLocalization="true"/>
I added ScriptMode="Debug", and the errors occur during debugging.  I changed it to ScriptMode="Release", and still got the same errors.
I'm not sure if and where in the code things are breaking, but I'm having trouble understanding why SharePoint, Visual Studio, and Internet Explorer behave in this manner.

  • Crystal Report Viewer Microsoft JScript runtime error

When I use the crystal viewer control to render a report on the screen I receive the following error message:
Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object doesn't support property or method 'isObject' ... and the following line is hilighted:
    if(!bobj.isObject(json)).
Here is the markup for the test page I'm using

    <CR:CrystalReportViewer ID="CrystalReportViewer1" runat="server"
    AutoDataBind="true" ReportSourceID="crSource" />
    <CR:CrystalReportSource ID="crSource" runat="server">
    </CR:CrystalReportSource>
    </form>}
I believe I set all info on crSource correctly (report path etc ...) because If I remove the Crystal reports viewer from the page and just use the crsource (i.e crptSource.ReportDocument.ExportToHttpResponse ...) I can export the report OK. Its only when I have the crViewer on the page Is when I recieve this error.

  • A Runtime Error occured when viewing topics

    Hi,
I got the following message when I'm trying to view one topic
    with hyperlink :
"A Runtime Error has occurred. Do you wish to Debug?
    Line 2393
    Error : Access is denied"
When I click No, the entire topic displayed but the hyperlink
    didn't work.
When I try to test the same topic in the CHM, the hyperlink
    work well.
I'm using a lot Ctrl+W to made QA on my conditional topic and
I will like to solve this problem.
    Can someone may help me?
    Thanks!
    TW_MaryseC

    TW_MaryseC
It sounds like your topic has some javascript in it, is that
    the case?
If you are not sure, try this. Create a new topic with the
same filename except add _new. Keep cutting and pasting bits of the
content from the problem file and previewing it in the same way you
are now until the error occurs. Then you will know what to look at
and be able to resolve it or post back.
You say "I'm using a lot Ctrl+W to made QA on my conditional
topic..." Ctrl+W is simply a means of previewing a topic. I think
what you are saying here is that you then select a condition to
test the topic is working. But you get the problem before you
select any condition in the preview so I am not sure what you are
    saying here. Please clarify.
    Avalynn
Whilst you are getting a runtime error it is a different one
so it would have been better to create a new post rather than
hijack this one. It's difficult to answer two people's problems in
    one thread.
It sounds like you have a javascript function in the body of
your topic but you do not have anything in the head section to say
where the javascript file is located. Could that be the case?
The trial version should allow you to see your topics
although there is a limit to the number. How many topics do you
    have?
Also are you generating the CHM file to your hard disk?

  • B2B-50029:  B2B runtime error: oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLParseException: Start of root element expected.

    Dear All,
    I am a beginner to Oracle B2B.
I have created an agreement to Recieve 852, Product Activity data(POS) from one of the Trading partner. This is an inbound process.
A  SOA composite application is created to Recieve the data and insert into perticular columns of the database table using database adapter.
I have tested the Interface with some couple of file and it went perfect without any error. Now I have to test the interface with some other files.
This time also I am not getting any error in Business Message, Wire message and Application message but the composite application is not picked.
The log file shows : B2B-50029: B2B runtime error: oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLParserException: Start of root element expected.
Please let me know if anyone has faced this issue. it will be of great help.
    Thanks,
    Abhas Kushwaha

    Hello,
Just a thought, When I had the similar problem, it appeared to be a BOM (Byte order mark - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) in the xml file, which is the very first character in the xml file, so the file was not identified to be a valid xml file. Removing the BOM from the xml file fixed my problem, however, I did not spend much time in fixing using B2B, the vendor  (sender of the file) fixed the file and started sending without BOM. So my work was easier.
The character is not visible in all XML editors, however, it was visible in JDeveloper. I used a tool to identify and remove during testing until the vendor fixed the file, the tool is called file bom detector,http://www.bryntyounce.com/filebomdetector.htm
    Hope this helps,
    Thanks,
    Venkatesh

  • Microsoft Jscript runtime error: Object expected

I have a Visual Studio 2005 web application that uses a Crystal Viewer to display reports developed in XI. When I run the application on my development PC, I get no error, even with the debug turned on in IE7.  When I run the application on my PC, using the web server address  and click on the drop down to select the parameter, I get an error that says; u201CMicrosoft Jscript runtime error: Object expectedu201D.  Both my development PC and the code published on the web server use the fully qualified report path down to the webserver name.  No problem on my development PC running in Visual Studio, but a problem accessing the server.  The onClick portion is the highlighted area is where the debug  stops.  This is code that is created from crystal.  Originally, I was getting an error; 'Load Report Failed', but once I used the full path name of the report down the the webserver name, that error disappeared. I have XI installed on the web server and I can open and run the reports there.  What am I missing on the web server?  Thanks.

That would be the CR Service Pack located here:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006255422008E/crxir2_sp4_inc.exe
You will then have to ensure that the same runtime is on the server. Use the msm or msi files from here:
    http://resources.businessobjects.com/support/communityCS/FilesAndUpdates/crxir2sp4_net_merge_modules.zip
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100009657852008E/crxir2sp4_net_si.zip
I'd recommend the msi as it does not require you to build a deployment project. Ensure that you uninstall the current CR runtime on the server. Also, once that is done, check to make sure that the c:\program files\business objects directory is removed. Then install the CR runtime using the above msi file.
