10gR2 Enterprise Manager's Administration is not working

Friends,
DB: 10gR2
OS: WinXP SP2
db is in my local pc.
I am able to login to enterprise manager. Also im able to browse the "Home", "Performance" and "Maintenance" tab. but im not able to browse "Administration" tab.
when i click the "Administration" tab, nothing it says....its just keep on browsing....browsing....browsing....i waited for 30minutes.....after that i removed the em
using emctl and emca.....after that i removed 10gR2 and i reinstalled.
Again the same problem.....
where im making mistake? what might be the solution for this problem?

- Can you to execute the emctl status dbconsole.?
If this its ok provide me the outpout of this comand
- What its the full adress of your OEM in your local pc ?
It must of type: http://hostname:XXXX/em where XXXX its a port
- Are you enable the Firewall of windows ?
- Run this comand to check that the port its open:
telnet hostname XXXX
where XXXX is the port of OEM

Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control is not working properly

Hello!
I have a problem with Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control, the web console. When I open the browser, instead of showing the login window, it shows the window where three arrows, the database instance, the listener, and the conection, that are red and down.
However they are working correctly, the database is up and working, but the EM doesn't show anything else.
Is there a way to make it work again?

The Enterprise Manager has lost sync with the database.
The only way I know to do this remotely is to tell the OEM to shut down and/or bring up the database - twice. It'll try and fail and perhaps eventually reset it's pointers.
I'd really like Oracle to create a 're-sync to actual state' URL ... there must be an easy way, such as flushing the collected metrics or something.

OBI 11g Enterprise Manager (EM Website) does not work with IE8 (v8.0.6)

I am unable to login to the 11g EM website on Windows x64 2003 server. I get the below error:

Enterprise Manager Grid Control - SSH not working on Windows

Hi,
We tried the below steps to install EM Grid control on our Windows servers.
• Oracle Application Grid Control with Oracle Management Agent has been installed successfully on Server1.
• As part of prerequisites for Agent installation using Agent Deployment Wizard, we have installed Cygwin in both the boxes – SOA box (Server2) and Grid control box (Server1) for SSH communication. However, the agent installation failed and the service in SOA box failed to start. We tried re-installation of Cygwin but unable to bring up Cygwin service.
• We have installed SOA suite in another box (Server3) and then installed Cygwin. Cygwin installation was successful and all previous issues were resolved.
However, SSH communication is getting failed because of the error "User Authentication failed on remote nodes:Server3. Either the provided username and password is incorrect or Password Authentication is disabled for the sshd daemon on the remote nodes. To enable Password Authentication set the property PasswordAuthentication to "yes" in the SSHD Configuration File (sshd_config) on the remote nodes".
We are able to achieve SSH communication when we manually try it through Cygwin Bash Shell.
Any pointers in resolving this would be highly appreciated.

I couldn't get to work either so I left the ssh configuration out and went on with 'silent' installation which worked like a charm and oem discovered it right away. Be sure change the parameters according to your environment in 'additional_agent.rsp' file and use that to run the silent installation. You may have to add one additional parameter manually about agent home location, look in the documentation for the exact parameter name. Hope this helps, Viral.

Problem in 10gR2 enterprise manager after changing the servers hostname

Hello,
I installed 10g R2 Standard Edition on a Suse Linux Server Enterprise 10.
I have the following problem :
I changed the host name from “a” to “b”.
I made the required changes in listener.ora and tns_names.ora.
I also rebuilded the enterprise manager by starting dbca and click on “Configure database options” etc etc.
After that the WEB enterprise manager seemed to work fine.
I logged on the http://localhost:1180/em as sys/password/sysdba.
Then I clicked on maintenance > Backup setting the PROBLEM OCCURS !!!
I get again the web login page but in the connect string I get the old hostname.domain:1521:SID.
And naturally I cannot login because that hostname.domain:1521:SID does not exist.
Somebody knows how can I correct that?

After install oracle 10g, enterprise manager web version, can not login

I have installed oracle 10g on windows xp pro sp2 successfully, can use sqlplus to connect to DB, but when using IE to login enterprise manager web version port 1158, it failed. The login page came out, but when I keyed in the right userid/password ie sysman/pwd1234, the login screen just refreshed, nothing happen. but if I purposely key in wrong userid or password, the message "invalid userid or password" comes out.
Another "interesting" thing is, I can login web version isqlplus successfully using the same userid/password. but can not connect to web version isqlplus/dba, even I use user sys, also can not login.
Need your urgent help to solve this problem.

Manage On Demand Does Not Work on the Web Site

Trying to Manage on Demand on the web site. Page does not load correctly. IE Crashes. Firefox just does not work. Something wrong with the web site.

Enterprise Manager Configuration : error generated not in documents.need solution

I have my database ( Oracle 7.3.2 ) on DEC-Alpha running OpenVMS 7.1 My enterprise manager is 1.2.2 . I created the repository but when trying to connect , the error that is generated is VOC - 00114 ( authentication supplied for a non-repository database cannot access the repository ) . I was trying to connect using a user with DBA privileges and had the repository created with the same user . This error also finds no mention in the documentation . I guess there is some compatibility issue but I am not too sure .

Container-Managed Transaction Type Attributes not working as expected

I am having a problem with the container-managed transactions not working as expected. I have 2 methods that work as follows:
MethodA{
for(a lot)
call MethodB;
@Transaction Type = RequiresNew
MethodB{
EntityManager Persist to database
I want the code in MethodB to be committed to the database when methodB returns. The problem is that I am running out of memory and MethodA is failing. When methodA fails after numerous calls to MethodB nothing is persisted to the database.
It is my understanding that when using requires new transactions that a new transaction is started for each call to the method and ends when the method returns while the calling method transaction is suspended.
How am I misunderstanding the requiresNew transaction attribute. What can I do to make a batch insert into my database that will not run out of memory (commit when a methodB returns)?

The problem is that EJB invocation semantics for security, container-managed transactions, etc.
only apply when an invocation is made through an EJB reference. In your case, you are directly
invoking the implementation method from within the bean. The EJB container has no idea that's
happening. It's no different than invoking a utility method.
In order to get the behavior you'd like, you need to retrieve a reference to your own bean and invoke
through that. You can use SessionContext.getBusinessObject() to get the EJB reference for the
business interface through which the method in question is exposed.

Apple 10.4 managed clients dock settings not working

I have an issues with 3 or 4 of my 10.4 clients all are managed by WGM on an apple 10.5 server. The I have managed dock settings on all apple clients are getting the proper dock settings however I have 3 or 4 clients that are not. The clients that are not getting the dock settings are in the correct computer group. And I don't see any of the clients dedicated in the computer group. And suggestions or tips would be welcome help.

THAT WORKED and all is back to normal.
By the way I did not lose any of the icons on my dock either. All the apps light up under the icon and they now mimimize correctly!!

Try deleting com.apple.dock.plist from the preference folder located in your user Library.
You can open the hidden library in Finder's menubar, Finder > Go > hold the option key down > select Library.
Edit: you'll have to add back program icons to the dock that you moved there.

I am new to Oracle and to gain more knowledge I am reading several books/pdf's
They mention the use of "Enterprise Manager".
They also mention that it is web-based.
Does this mean you have to be connected to the internet in order to use it.
I am using Oracle on a machine which is not connected
Is this the reason that I can't find it anywhere in the "start-menu"?
Or is it available, but with a different name?

Or is it available, but with a different name?You did not provided the OS and DB version. It is web-based does not mean you have to be connected to internet. It means you can access database in you web browser. It may or may not be in start menu. You have to configure OEM first then only you can access its url from some other computer provided your computer is connected to db server and OEM running port is accessible from your machine.

HP Pro 3125 MT - Windows 7 Enterprise 64. Sound is not working.

HP Pro 3125 MT - Windows 7 64 bit. I've installed the audio driver SP51083 as suggested by HP (here).
As soon as I installed them the sound is not working anymore. The sound card is seen by the control panel, and everything seems to be correct (the system even detect when a jack plug is connected or disconnected to the audio card), but no sound come out from the speakers. I just hear a soft buzz.
I couldn't rollback, so I tried to uninstall drivers and install Realtek ones (here)
Same result.
Note: speakers are working ( if I plug them to another computer they works witout problems). However even headphones are recognized by the Realtek panel, when connected, but the output is, also in this case, always a buzz.
Any idea? Thank you.

Did you try uninstalling the entire audio device?
Right click on the device and select uninstall, and check the box that says uninstall drivers. reboot and see what happens.
Then if the audio doesn't automatically install, you can try manually reinstalling the driver by browing to the installation folder that was created when you extracted the driver.
Click on the audio driver in the device manager. Click on the driver tab. Click on update driver and browse to the driver folder that was created. The HP driver would be found in C:\SWSETUP\sp51083.
If none of that works, maybe someone else has another idea you can try.
When I am confounded by issues like this, I reinstall the OS, applications notwithstanding.
I look at it this way. I can spend hours getting nowhere, or I can bite the bullet and get my PC back up and running. Then I know not to install a program or driver the next time that killed a function of my PC.

Disk 1 of Enterprise Manager 11g Grid Control not downloading correctly

Hello, I'm downloading Enterprise Manager 11g Grid Control.
The first disk, of three, does not download correctly:
GridControl_11.1.0.1.0_Linux_1of3.zip
On the web page, its size is listed to be around 1.3 GB.
However, when downloading, it thinks its actual file size is only around 643 MB.
So only that much gets downloaded.
But after downloading, this .zip file cannot be opened, it does not appear to a valid .zip file.
Please investigate and fix this.
