10min Youtube fix??

Hi All
I am running iMovie 9 and I am so frustrated with the fact that I can't upload a movie longer than 10mins direct from iMovie to youtube. Apple bring out this wonderful software that does everything at the click of a button but don't keep it up to date - bizare!
Does anyone know of a way of getting around this or turning off this restriction.
I am aware that you can export the movie and then upload it on youtube but I find the quality doesn't remain the same as if direct from iMovie.
I hope you can help or someone from apple can put out a notice as to when this will be fixed.

P.S. Message to Apple - please create a public notice board showing that you recognise the problems that people are having with software issues such as this and approx fix dates - keep your customers happy.

If you aren't using a hacked/modified iPhone, check the date and time. The date and time not being set properly on an iPhone has also been reported to cause this problem.

32 bit YouTube fix breaks "Open PDFs in Preview"

Hi everyone -
Like (apparently) the rest of the forum, I haven't been able to open YouTube videos with Safari without opening in 32 bit.
Unfortunately, when I open in 32 bit, PDFs are then automatically opened in Adobe Reader.
I tried redoing the old fix for this - downloading a PDF file, get info, "Open in Preview", change all - but this doesn't change anything for me.
Anyone else have this problem? Anyone have any solutions?

unless safari's built-in pdf support is disabled via a defaults command, or modifying the plist - what app opens a pdf on the mac hasn't anything to do with what happens when you click most web-based pdf's.
Like changing what app opens html files somehow stops Safari from handling them when you click a link.
The plugin thing seemingly wasn't working, switching to 32 bit made it work, and it did the job intended... to open pdf's in the browser.

IPhone/iPad YouTube Fix :)

There is a simple way to fix the buffer or loading time of YouTube using your iPhone/iPad. Like many from this discussion telling you to fix your DNS, settings etc. The problem is not on the hardware but how the app or browser accesses the video from YouTube. The default app for YouTube works lame because it is accessing the flash content on YouTube. This is why Steve Jobs is against Adobe, IMHO. To easily fix this; Open your safari browser on your iPhone/iPad and go to this link: "www.youtube.com/html5". Below you will find a text that says "*Join the HTML5 Trial*", click on that and that's all it takes to improve YouTube on the iPhone/iPad. This is done because HTML5 codes run faster on browsers supporting this since it eats less resource compared to other codes today. To be able to make this work. You have to reset/close safari (if ever it's open). Now save and open YouTube only in your mobile safari (iPhone/iPad). Do not use the app anymore since the setting of the default YouTube App still access the flash content (Maybe there will be a fix soon). Just access your YouTube in safari and you will see the difference

I close safari and disable safari in multitasking.
Now save??? and open you tube, how do I do that?

Cant control volume bar on youtube fixes itself on 6.0 version

on 6.0.2.exe ihad no problems all other upgrades cause the task bar to pop up uncontrolled also volume controls are unusable ie youtube sound bars are unusable use 6.0.2 exe and every thing is fine regards rob

9.o1 does not fix the problem with the volume control on youtube and the flash player popping up onthe bottom task bar in full picture mode i reloaded 6.o.01 and everything is now ok regards rob

Uploading iMovie 8 directly to Youtube- fixed

This may have been covered before but I was getting Youtube error messages when I would use the share video function and try to upload the video directly to youtube.
If you have a youtube account it is associated with an email address.
When you type in your youtube account user name and password into the iMovie dialog box you have to type in the full email address plus the proper youtube password. Just typing in my youtube user name did not work.
Weird but it works for me.

YouTube Fix

My login for youtube broke last night too I guess. I found how I got the youtube app that does let me login to my account and stay logged in.
Go http://m.youtube.com/ in Safari and then login to your account. Then you can hit the + button and click the "Add to Home Screen"
That's working for me on my iphone and ipad.

How can I speed up YouTube on ipad2?

You'll want to check to see if YouTube loads quickly on your computer. I have Comcast and for some reason YouTube videos haven't loaded quickly in about a year or so even on the computer. If I play a video in 240p it will still stop to buffer half way through.
So it might just be an issue where you ISP and YouTube aren't working nice together. Check to see how they load on the computer, might not even be a problem with the iPad

Missing itunes64.msi fixed

I used to have a problem of missing itunes64.msi file on my Windows 7 computer and getting annoyed for ages.
Today I got it fixed with an apple support team member.
Let's share the solution for Windows 7 below so the ones who have been struggling with update of your itunes can try, hope it helps.
Go to http://support.microsoft.com/fixit/
1. Click Windows.
2. Click Install or upgrade software or hardware --> "Install or remove programs" at the right hand side
3. Click "RUN NOW" on "Fix problems with programs that can't be installed or uninstalled"
4. Click install and accept terms and conditions.
    Choose Detect problems and let me select the fixes to apply.
     Click uninstalling.
     Select Apple application support, Apple mobile device support and Bonjour. (can't uninstall three of them all at once, have to do them separately)
     ***Don't need to uninstall ALL apple programs such as iClouds, apple software update as I'm told that they are not separate from iTunes so removal of them is not going to affect itunes.
Now one more step after you have uninstalled them, you now go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/?ref=http://itunes.com and download the latest version of itunes!
A kind reminder that restart your computer then the installation is complete, Congratulations!

I had this message for at least a year. it did not matter to functionality UNTIL I stupidly updated the OS on my phone....then I HAD to update iTunes and all **** hit the fan.
I followed the first fix on just the one system, no work
I called apple twice, they were WORTHLESS
I went to Microsoft help (they blame each other) on line and did what they said, no help.
I used the info from the youtube fix (go to run / regedit/ find 'iTunes64.msi' and then delete it
that was not enough, finally
I took 'VitaBella' 's advice and went through the M$ fix for every apple system.
shut down the computer and rebooted.
ran the iTunes64Setup.exe
it worked

As I told apple and M$ they can get away with this **** because we are all addicted to their products, when they work they are great and we want them. so they really don't need to worry about the problems because eventually we'll fix them ourselves
I really wanted to ditch apple, but now the appleMOB has me at high points....I have their phone, their software, their music and even (yes, I made the call with no force) their hearing aids......

Sad YouTube limitations on Apple TV

Many people seem to love the YouTube feature of Apple TV. For those casual or pop YouTube users interested in just surfing and checking out random bits on YouTube, Apple TV does well for them. But for users like me, I find the YouTube limitations frustrating and confusing.
First of all, when I look at videos posted by someone I subscribe to, the list seems random. It isn't in order of post date or at the very least, it will skip over some posts (quite obvious if you want to watch a video series).
Secondly, it doesn't support playlists. Not playlists you can create like the YouTube Quicklist, not a playlist of favorites, and not the playlists that others might create (which would help with the aforementioned video series issue).
These limitations make my Apple TV less than useful for viewing videos on YouTube. Is the addition of these features on the roadmap?

Lag, freeze in YouTube videos

I have the hp slate 7 4600 and I have a "lag" in YouTube videos , the image keep freezing all time and the audio continues, I try cleaning the cache , doing a factory reset but nothings works :'(

If i unistall the app and install again the problem fixes but after watch 3 or 4 videos start again... and get worse and worse and stop complety and the audio freeze to , so i have to unistall and install again ...
And in my s4 mini works fine ... :/
But thanks maybe with other update youtube fix the problem for now i am using a alternative app called super tube ( and viral lite ) and works much better

Strange Flicker

This is tricky to explain, but here goes:
My friend shot a movie on Super8 and had it transferred to video (sd, interlaced. 29.97). Whereever he spliced the actual film together, the film jumped so the video captured this and at every cut the film frame jumped halfway up the video frame, leaving a big white space. The jump usually took place over about 8 frames. I added letterboxing to the video to give us some room to play with and then went through the video and at every cut, I separated the frames and recomposed them to the best of my ability. Sometimes the jump was too big; it jumped more than the letterboxing allowed me to correct, but mostly I got the video looking pretty good. Of course, it still shuddered and jumped somewhat the way most super 8 films do.
So the director was quite happy with it. But when I export the film, either to make a dvd or exporting to quicktime uncompressed, or when compressing, some of the cuts really flickered. This doesn't happen when I watch it in fcp. Whatever variables I tried playing with--key frames, frame reorder, deinterlacing--these ugly flickers remained. I decided to uploaded a small clip so that I could ask about it here. However, once the clip is uploaded to youtube it no longer flickers. Yes, as you'll see it shudders and jumps, but this was one of the worst parts of the video and the way it looks on youtube is actually a huge improvement over the original. But my question is, How is Youtube fixing the flickering? And how can I fix it with fcp. What we really need to do is get the video onto a dvd for festivals.

The thinking at the moment is to send a dvd to a few festivals the director is hopeful about and then do another telecine. So we want to send something that looks the best it can, relatively speaking.

I have recently bought a MBP15" late 2013 (running mavericks) and have some issues on the networking side. More specifically some sites (facebook, youtube,google) will not load or load incompletely while other sites ( vimeo, wikipedia, apple etc ) work blazingly fast, with no problems.
Problem details: when I first launched Safari on this mac facebook was behaving a little bit strange, i.e. some pictures were not loading(like profile thumbnail pictures in the feed) but everything else worked OK. This was quite random, and appeared only in some days. After a while, I was getting certain intervals of time (around 10-15min) when the afore mentioned sites would not load(facebook, youtube). After that period of time everything was back to normal.
Today they seem to not work at all. Facebook loads as a text page if you give it around 10mins, youtube displays "page not found".
I tried on Chrome and Chrome Canary and they behave exactly the same, the only difference being that google search only works in Chrome.
Things I tried: I have searched the web and have found many similar topics, however no suggestion worked for me. I have tried: resetting the router, clearing the cache of both browsers, flushing the DNS, restoring the hosts file, changing the MTU both on the mac and router to 1400. I also tried with different DNS servers on my router ( openDNS ) - internet was not working at all in this way.
As a side these websites load just fine on my phone(ios) and on my windows 7 laptop.
Looking up facebook from Network Utility gives me:

Can anyone pinpoint me to some solutions on this ? It is extremely frustating. It had the same behaviour these last days but only for brief periods of time (as stated in the beggining), after that everything was normal.
Also, I have not installed or downloaded anything lately. This seems to be a DNS issue, but I have no idea how to solve it.
EDIT:
I forgot to mention another weird thing: stuff seems to work normally when I got to my friends and stay on their WiFi. So this seems to happen only on my home WiFi. However, as stated earlier, my phone and windows 7 notebook all work OK on this network.

I had this problem last month. I ended up having to get a new iPhone 4S. It's a very, very common problem and in my opinion it should be covered by Apple for free since it is so popular and is an obvious hardware defect especially in the iPhone 4S.
So I suggest you order a new iPhone ($230 with no warranty) ($50 with Apple Care+). And while you wait for your new iPhone to come you could back up your iPhone and try some of the YouTube fixs. I put mine in a plastic bag (off with no air in the bag) in the freezer for 30 minutes, pulled it out, turned it back on, let the iPhone thaw out in the bag, and it then worked again for over a week before it died again. But I would only try that if you knew you had a new iPhone on the way. My cellular, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth all went out so I had nothing to lose.

Imac has a burn mark on the logic board

i have a imac emc2266
i recently came across a imac alumium 20 inch and the guy said it doesnt boot and doesnt chime
i have tried every setting and every test still nothing.T
The fans spin and the computer tries to boot
led 1and 2 are on but the logicboard doesnt have a third led
the computer will run a mouse but the keyboard will not power
i checked the logicboard it has a small burn mark
next to the audioboard

I doubt any of those have burn marks. something on that board has fried causing the burn mark. you could find the failed part and try to replace it but you never know what else failed at the same time or failed because of the fried part.
