11.0.07 won't update on mac os x 10.8.5

When I try to update I get this message: "The update could not be applied because the Adobe Acrobat application contents were modified the original installation. Please reinstall Adobe Acrobat and check for updates again. Error 1301"
I tried uninstalling acrobat and it won't work.

  • Up-to-date contacts on iPhone and MobileMe won't won't update the Mac

    Hi,
I just got an iPhone GS and there's a glitch that's driving me mad. (I had an iPod Touch before this so it's not all new.)
First of all I had duplicate Calendars and Contacts ("On my Mac" and MobileMe) so deleted those on my mac by following the instructions here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1922950 which just left MobileMe.
After a bit of fiddling and resetting the Calendars now work so that when I update the iPhone it appears on the Mac, and vice versa.
However, this is not the case with Contacts, and since repeating the process (resetting the Mac, deleting on iPhone and starting again) now if I make changes to contacts on the iPhone they do update MobileMe, but MobileMe does not update the Mac. When I update MobileMe on the website it won't update the Mac either.
I've done everything I can think of/have read about and would really love to get this working as it should.
    Many thanks,
    D

    Yet more information:
I went ahead and clicked "Replace" and then got the following error message:
"You are attempting to reset Contacts on MobileMe from this computer.
Contacts have recently been reset on Mobileme. Are you sure you want to reset the Contacts on MobileMe?"
But nothing changed (didn't even lose the up-to-date contact changes on the iPhone) but then I get the error messages again and again and again...
    Please help!
    Thanks,
    D

  • After Effects won't update for MAC 10.9.4 even on Root account.

I have previously updated my Mac OS to 10.9.4 and it was only until today that i wanted to use After Effects. I open up After Effects and i get an error, after some googling I am taken to a download page for the After Effects update. I downloaded the update, but when I ran it it said I had insufficient privileges. After a long string of events that involved tricking my computer into thinking it was brand new to make an admin account, i made an admin account and from there got access to the root account. Once on the root account I figured that all permissions would be open, but no, I still get the same error message of, "Please contact your system Administrator if you wish to apply updates on your machine. Updates have been suppressed by your Administrator."
Is there a button I need to press or a command i need to type in the root account that will allow me to update AE? Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

This is not about the administrator for the computer; rather, this is about the administrator of your software licenses. Whoever distributed your Adobe software seems to have chosen the option in that distribution to disable updates. You'll need to talk with them.

  • Updater won't update on Mac OS X 10.5

Whenever I launch Adobe Reader on my PowerMac G5 running Mac OS X 10.5.6, I get the following message:
A new version of Adobe Update is available for installation. Click OK to install it now
Note: You many be required to authenticate in order to install.
I click on the OK button, authenticate the installation, and the update process begins downloading.  Once everything is done I get the same message again telling me there is a new version of Adobe Updater.
What is needed so that things will update properly?

  • F4280 won't update with mac OS x 10.9.5

I have been running this printer for years, and have had it set up in my office at work for at least two years. I updated my work computer a few months ago, and it was fine. But about two weeks ago, I started to get a message that I had an update to the printer. (We also use HP printers for the college, so it's possible that this is not my personal printer but is related to the college printers, but I do think it's mine -- it's had a few other issues, as well, recently.) I downloaded the update, it said it was updated and good to go. Then, bam. It shows up again a minute or two later. Over and over and over again. It's starting to make me crazy.

Hello @ProfA  , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you're running into update issues.  I would like to help with that!
I would suggest deleting the printer from your print system, using this document: Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once you have deleted it, I would suggest verifying and repairing the disk permissions: About Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions feature.
I would also suggest running your Apple updates:  OS X: Updating OS X and Mac App Store apps
After the updates, I would recommend reinstalling the OS X v10.9 Mavericks: Installing and Using the Printer on a Mac.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • IWork won't update on Mac Book Pro

    Hi,
I am using 10.7.2. on my mac book pro. I have iWork installed and Pages is currently on '09 version 4.0.5. Whenever I open pages it says there is a new update available and there is a link to the software update. When I go to update it using the software update it says my computer is up to date with no mention of the iWork update. I've also tried the Mac App Store but I didn't but my iWork off it and there is also no mention of anything needing an update. I'm confused as to why my computer can't find the upgrade. Any ideas?

I've had exactly the same problem - very odd! - I tried making sure everything was in the iWork folder, but it still told me all my software was up to date, even though my Pages for example is version 4.05 and the current Pages in the App Store is 4.1.
Peter - will try your download though to see if that works.

updated my mac to mountain lion 10.7.8.3 and now my app store, mail or facetime won't open. Also, I am not longer able to play videos through firefox. I tried downloading the combo for mountain lion and it refuses to install saying that I need to see developer. Whenever I try to open my appstore, mail or facetime it says that the programmes need to be installed and might not be compatible with this version of mac operating system. Can anyone help me?

It's not a bad install of Mountain Lion. I've had the same thing happen to me, but it affected not only Mail, but a variety of other programs including iPhoto and MS Office, where I had to delete preferences, caches, and reinstall the OS as well as the program itself. I'm still having issues with Mail, so I've gone to another program.
Everything was fine upon the initial install. I restarted my iMac about two weeks after the install, and that's when the issues began to happen. I've reinstalled Mountain Lion twice, but the same issues arise.
As I mentioned above, you'll need to figure out which preferences are causing the issue, then reinstall the program, as a fresh reinstallation will do you no good unless you wipe the drive completely.
Here's a thread that helped me with iPhoto:

Mac won't update software or access iTunes shop. Message comes up with 'not connected to the net. Check connections' error. I still have internet access. Changed my Apple ID but no result. Repaired permissions and re-installed operating system.

It sounds like you may have multiple problems, but none of them are likely to be caused by malware.
First, the internet-related issues may be related to adware or a network compromise. I tend to lean more towards the latter, based on your description of the problem. See:
    http://www.adwaremedic.com/kb/baddns.php
    http://www.adwaremedic.com/kb/hackedrouter.php
If investigation shows that this is not a network-specific issue, then it's probably adware. See my Adware Removal Guide for help finding and removing it. Note that you mention AdBlock as if it should have prevented this, but it's important to understand that ad blockers do not protect you against adware in any way. Neither would any kind of anti-virus software, which often doesn't detect adware.
As for the other issues, it sounds like you've got some serious corruption. I would be inclined to say it sounds like a failing drive, except it sounds like you just got it replaced. How did you get all your files back after the new drive was installed?

I updated my mac yesterday to Maverick and now Adobe Photoshop CS5 won't launch.  Can you tell me what files I need to delete to get it to launch.  I tried reinstalling it, and that didn't help.

It's very strange.  When I try to double click on the program to open it,

does nothing.  That's the way it is if I control click and try to open too.
I did try to reboot.  Is there something I could delete in the Library

  • HT2404 Mac won't update OS

Any clues on why my Mac won't update the OS to the newest version?
I am currently running OS 10.6.8.
My husband is running the same computer but 10.7.5...this despite my requests for updates.
    Thoughts?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
That's because OS X 10.7 Lion is a paid upgrade that you can't get from Software Update. The most recent version is OS X Mountain Lion.
First, see if your Mac is supported > http://www.apple.com/osx/specs If it's compatible, make a backup of your data, open App Store and purchase OS X Mountain Lion. Then, Mountain Lion will start downloading, and when it finishes, the Mountain Lion installer will show up. Just follow the steps to upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion.
Also, check if your apps are supported > http://www.roaringapps.com
If your Mac isn't compatible with Mountain Lion,  you can try getting OS X Lion > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4949 If it's compatible, call Apple to get OS X Lion > http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57

I am trying to update my mac to os x snow leopard but the cd won't run on my computer. I'm using an external dvd hardrive but I don't see why that would make a difference in wether or not it runs.

Well, that may be the cause of the no install problem, as Snow Leopard does require at least 1gB of RAM. The Apple link below will show how it is installed.

Acrobat Pro won't update from 10.1.6 to 10.1.7, any tips, on Mac…?

    One of two things:
    1.  Go to the Terminal App and type the word "sudo" and hit the Enter/Return key.  If it comes back with a permissions error then seek from Apple to correct it.
    2.  If there is no permissions error in the Terminal app then go to the installation log at "/var/log/install.log" or "/private/var/log/install.log".  Open it up and see if you find an error about failing to write to the file:
./postinstall: Error in converting the plist /Library/Preferences/com.adobe.PDFAdminSettings.plist to xml1 format
If you get the error above then delete the file at the location and try updating again
