I run windows 7 x32 with aero turned on. problem is: cs4 photoshop was running fine until the 11.0.2 update.
And oh, I'm running on a dell lattitude 820 notebook with nvidia nvs 120 as the graphics card.
(it isn't going to be easy to update the display driver on notebooks)
anyone else with this problem? anyone has an idea of where to go next?
thanks
Pete

The original poster is right in dreading that answer.  Neither Dell nor nVidia appear to have developed Quadro NVS 120M drivers for Windows 7.
So a question (for Adobe) might be:  What does Photoshop CS4 11.0.2 do that its predecessor didn't?
A workaround may be:  Assuming you can't get into the Photoshop API to use the preferences dialog to disable the use of OpenGL features, there's a registry tweak you can download from Adobe to tell it not to try to use OpenGL.  See this page:

  • CS4 Photoshop keeps crashing

I upgraded to adobe CS4 and my Photoshop continually crashes forcing me to use my CS3 edition. Does anyone know of any fixes for this, its starting to get really annoying when you do just minor this as image resizing and it crashes. I am running on Mac OS X.

I am using Mac OS X 10.5.5, 4GBof ram, with a 139GB of hard drive space, Nvidia geforce 8600m GT video card, Adobe CS4 Creative Suite Design Premium, Photoshop extended. What system maintenance do you recommend that I try? Also I would love to give you more information why it's crashing. It has done it when I have been doing the following: image resizing, placing in items from adobe illustrator. Photoshop seems to be doing it the most, but I have had Dreamweaver crash a couple of times as well. I don't know if is an issue witht the entire suite or what. Any advice on how to get patches or other updates to fix the problem would be great.
    Thanks,

Recent update causes my Adobe Revel App to crash. What can I do?

Are you using ios? Is your app crashing or not installing an update?
There is an issue that the Revel version 2.3.2 on iOS does not seem to install.  We are working with Apple to resolve it as quickly as possible. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this is causing you. In the mean time, you can still access your photos on adoberevel.com from a browser and from our mac, win8, and android apps.
If you are using a different platform, please let us know the details.

  • Windows Update Causing CS6 Photoshop x64 to crash at "Measuring Memory"

    Hello,
This started on the 28th when we received a batch of Windows updates on our machines. The next day the eight users who have this installed are no longer able to open the 64 bit version of Photoshop. Each time it will get to "Measuring Memory" and then crash with no events in the Event Viewer. I have tried to remove the Windows updates manually with no luck. The only way to get it back to working is to do a System Restore. When doing some troubleshooting I discovered that if I use log in on the workstation that is crashing with my account then Photoshop 64 bit will open for me and get past the measuring memory. So I tried to figure out what relationship photoshop has with the users account and all I found was the users "Settings/Preferences". I had the user log back in and went to the location of that file and removed the 64 bit version. I then opened Photoshop back up and it created a new file but still crashed on measuring memory.
If you have other suggestions or knowledge of what else is tied to the users account. I should also mention that the 32 bit version works fine on the machine for all the users.
    Thank you for your help.

    Bump. Still looking for help.
I have tried to run all Windows updates and then uninstall and re install Adobe Photoshop both 32-bit and 64-bit. The system still crashes. In the event viewer I am getting this:
Faulting application name: Photoshop.exe, version: 13.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4f61c045
Faulting module name: dvamarshal.dll, version: 6.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4f61b977

I have also updated the video card driver on this machine. Windows 7 Pro, Adobe CS6 Master Collection, 32 GB RAM, and Quadro K5000 video card.

  • 10.6.8 update causes bluetooth to repeatedly "crash" while using headphones

I'm having severe problems with bluetooth "crashing" during headphone use, causing bluetooth to become "bluetooth not available".
This problem is very frustrating, causing me to stop using my Sony DR-BT101 headphones with my iMac. I've tried resetting the PRAM and the SMC, but the problem still persists. In fact, last night, after resetting the SMC for what seems to be the millionth time, my bluetooth became "unavailable" about 10 minutes into using my Sony headphones, or 15 minutes from the SMC reset. But It's not all bluetooth activity that causes this problem. I use my Magic Trackpad all day without any hiccups. It's only when I use the bluetooth headphones that bluetooth crashes.
But I use the term "crash" loosly, since I can't find any problems identified in the console, and the bluetooth diagnostic utility doesn't work when the bluetooth controller becomes unavailable. I'll be watching a movie with my Sony headphones when all of a sudden silence, followed by a "lost connection" message from the Magic Trackpad. I check the bluetooth icon in the menu bar, and it's "Bluetooth not available" all over again.
Does anyone have an insight as to some solution to this problem? I was hoping that the last update to 10.6.8 (HDMI) might've fixed the bluetooth problem, but no luck.
    Thanks.

Apple might fix the problem with SL; they did release the 10.6.8 Supplemental Update, which fixed an HDMI problem. So we might get a fix.
Don't know if this problem affects Lion. I haven't read much about it, since I'm not upgrading for another few months.

  • My Adobe CS4 Photoshop keeps crashing on Windows XP

It's pretty much right when i start the program up and make a new project, as soon as i hit okay the "Photoshop has to close" window comes up. I've tried everything, i even went from 2000 fonts to 300 (was thinking that was the cause but it wasn't as it worked fine before then)
I've tried messing with the preferences and that worked for a bit but now its worse.
Thank you for any help you can provide! I really need my program back!

  • Acrobat Reader 11.0.07 update causes LabVIEW application to crash

    Hi All,
I wrote an application that uses the Adobe ActiveX element to display a PDF.
This code used to work fine, but when I updated my acrobat reader from 11.0.06 to 11.0.07 it causes the application to start very briefly displaying the icon in the taskbar but then close (without an error or warning notification).
When downgrading to 10.0.06 the problem was solved.
Perhaps this can be of help for others who are experiencing problems with LabVIEW / Acrobat Reader.
    Chris

This is a known problem that everybody is yelling about and the solution is to not upgrade to 11.0.07. You don't have to all the way back to V10. 11.0.06 works fine. Just remember to configure Acrobat to not automatically update itself.

  • 10.6.5 Update causing QT apps to crash

I think the 10.6.5 update is causing my Nokia QT apps to crash with the following message:
    Exception Type: EXCBADACCESS (SIGSEGV)
    Exception Codes: KERNINVALIDADDRESS at 0x0000000000000000
Crashed Thread: 0 Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread
plus a long list of other info. I did a file permissions repair, a disk repair, and reinstalled the 10.6.5 update manually, but the problem is still not fixed. Anybody have any ideas?

Can't help with the CUPS issue, since it's not occurring here. If you want to report this issue to Apple's engineering, send a bug report or an enhancement request via its Bug Reporter system. To do this, join the Mac Developer Program—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report or enhancement request. The nice thing with this procedure is that you get a response and a follow-up number; thus, starting a dialog with engineering.
I will register for the developer program tomorrow. Do you know someone who knows about CUPS?, it might be helpful to sort this problem out. Should I take the sledge hammer approach and do a clean reinstall for OSX? Also there's a chance that this problem might be related to Apple portables only, since the other user is having the same issue that I do in a MacBook Pro as well but his MacBook is the 17" inch one but still there might be one common denominator here.
I really hope this thread gets seen by more users in this forum, to see if more information surfaces about this problem.
Anyways, thank you for your assistance.

  • Flash updates cause Windows 7 to crash

I generally leave my HP laptop in Hybernate mode over night. (Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit)
I have noticed that every few weeks when I go to start up my laptop in the morning, I will see the black screen that says that Windows shut down abnormally and I am given the option to start in Safe Mode or Start Normally.  I always just start normally.  Then when windows starts up and I login I see a Flash Player update box telling me that there is an new version of Flash waiting to be installed.
Since I have see this same Flash message on several crashes over the past few months, I am almost certain that Flash has something to do with the problem.  I have seen this same scenario on another Windows 7 laptop (Windows 7 Home Edition 32 bit) as well.
    Both computers are running IE9.
Has anyone seen this before?  Any suggestions about what might be the cause of the problem?
    Thanks,
    Gary

  • IOS4 update causes iPod app to crash

The iPod application crashes when I try to start it.

I've had ios4.0 for awhile now and this never happened. Last night I downloaded a new song straight to my iphone (first one straight to my phone since the update) and now my ipod does what you're all saying it does.
My problem is I won't be able to get to my itunes laptop for 10 days. Will this still work if I download itunes to my work laptop and then just plug it into that? Or will this require a full sync? I don't want to sync my phone to my work laptop.
Also, if I did do that, would it be easy to sync it back to my home laptop and erase everything off my work laptop?

  • 10.5.3 update causes my iTunes to crash- help!

Since installing the last system update (10.5.3), my iTunes crashes about 10 seconds after I open it- every single time. Safari does the same thing. Other apps seem okay so far, but this is very frustrating. Other users appear to be having problems, too.
I tried reinstalling the update directly from the apple site- no help.
    Any other suggestions?

For now and until Apple fixes the bug, the only solution I have found is to turn the proxy off in the Network settings. If you need to use a proxy server for work/school, you are best off with using Firefox. Firefox has a number of add-ons that allow you to turn the proxy on and off (for instance Switchproxy, which is very useful and allows you to turn the proxy on only selectively). • Printing since updates causes all apps to crash

Since the last round of updates from Apple, including the EFi firmware update, I am unable to print at all.
I have two printers, neither of which will print, I dont even get the print box come up before the applications "Unexpectedly quit".
I am using an Epson R1800 printer and a HP Laserjet 1018, the latter of which I know doesn't work with OSX natively but using a 3rd party driver always has.
I have tried running the Disk Utility to repair permissions, and also run the reset printer option, followed by a reboot and then added the printers again. Still no joy. I have also tried these steps but only added one printer at a time and still the apps crash.
    Has anyone got any ideas?
    Thanks

Try downloading the 10.4.10 Combination Updater from Apple and re-update.
