11.1.2 on 64bit Windows 2008 R2 - Oracle HTTP Server  assembly missing

After downloading and unpacking everything into a single folder and running InstallTool, I'm finding 'Oracle HTTP' is showing as missing.
No other product is missing, just the HTTP Server. I checked and the .dat file for OHS is in the file system.
Anyone else seen this on 64bit Win2008?

I tried Windows Server 2008 R2, and couldn't get it to work. Even though IIS was successfully installed, the installation of several of the apps failed because the installer didn't recognize that IIS was there. I believe Alp had the same issue trying to install on Windows 7 (not server).
R1 installed fine.

  • Function sequence error. in 64bit Windows 2008 Server.

    Hi All,
Pardon me if the posting is not in the correct group.
I am migrating my application from 32bit(Windows 2003 Server) to 64bit (Windows 2008 Server R2).
I am getting the following while trying to execute a SQL command
Encountered ODBC error -1: S1010, 0, [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Function sequence error .
Basically internal function call is SQLExecute() function call. This works perfectly for Windows 2003 Server 32bit. I tried the command execute at the background from the command prompt and it is working.
I checked the squence of call.We have two consecutive SQLBindParameter function call and then we call SQLExecute. Is this sequence incorrect in case of 64bit? I also checked the return code given by SQLExecute which is 99.
Any help or suggestion would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    -R

  • Can I run OAS in 64bit Windows 2008?

I'm going to install the OAS in our 64bit Windows 2008 for evaluation, however, both the x86 and win64 file cannot be installed.
The following message is prompted when we attempt to install the win64 version:
The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running.  Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.
And the following message is prompted inside a DOS prompt when we attempt to install the x86 version:
Checking operation system version: must be 5.0, 5.1 or 5.2 .   Actual 6.0    Failed <<<<
Existing Oracle Universal Installer, log for this session can be found at C:\.......
We can only install the OAS in a Windows XP workstation, does it mean that we have to use a Windows XP workstation as production server?
May I know if there has any OAS download for 64bit Windows Server 2008?

Not exactlly. Maybe it's certified now, but still cannot install.
    According to the update:
    1. Windows 2008 is supported with patchset 10.1.3.4 or higher. Before applying the 10.1.3.4 patchset, customers must first install the base 10.1.3.x products using the following patches:
    . 10.1.3.1.0 SOA requires patch 6712338 (http://updates.oracle.com/download/6712338.html)
    . 10.1.3.2.0 WebCenter requires patch 6971010 (http://updates.oracle.com/download/6971010.html)
    . 10.1.3.x Companion CD requires patch 7129052 (http://updates.oracle.com/download/7129052.html)
. 10.1.3.x Companion CD ASG Install requires patch 7129469 (http://updates.oracle.com/download/7129469.html)
. 10.1.3.x Companion CD Failsafe Install requires patch 7191497 (http://updates.oracle.com/download/7191497.html)
    Additional notes for Windows 2008:
. The patches listed above apply to both 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows 2008.
. Please review the release notes on http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12524_01/relnotes.1013/e12523/install.htm#sthref7 for the 10.1.3.4 patch set for known issues for Windows 2008.
    But....
    1. 10.1.3.4 still not avaialble for direct download, you have to download 10.1.3.x then apply the patch. But the download of 10.1.3.x cannot be installed, how can we apply the patch?
    2. You cannot download the patch without Metalink account (maybe, it's not for evaluation at this moment)
So, it still have to wait until the full package of 10.1.3.4 or above is available for direct download.

  • "BCP Commit Failed" New Install On Windows 2008 R2 with SQL Server 2008 R2

I am installing a new Netweaver install on a virtual machine loaded with Windows 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 R2. The install gets to the "Import ABAP" phase and just hangs. SAPINST says it is still running, but there is no activity to suggest there is anything going on. There are no errors in the main logs, but after digging a little I did find these errors in the SAPSDIC.log file.

Anyone have any ideas as to what might be going on? I can't find anyone with this exact same error. And this is our first attempt at installing a system with Windows 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 R2. All of our other Windows SAP systems are on Windows 2003 and SQL Server 2005 and we're in the process of upgrading - this being the first system.
    Thanks in advance,

  • Oracle 10g HTTP Web Server on Windows 2008 R2 (64-bit) server.

I downloaded the Oracle 10g HTTP server for Windows 2008 R2 (64-bit) from the link below
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/10204-winx64-vista-win2k8-082253.html
    10204_vista_w2k8_x64_production_companion.zip (344,455,851 bytes)
Did anyone have luck installing the 10g HTTP server on a Windows 2008 R2 (64-bit) server ?
I could see the installation went fine, but I don't see any "Oracle_HTTP" windows service getting created.

I have not installed on this OS but I'm betting the service is a different name.

  • Error Intall RWD Uperform 4.3 on Windows 2008 with Oracle 11G

    Hi,
I need install RWD Uperform 4.3 on Windows 2008 with Oracle 11G.
When tried install Uperform 4.3 occurs the next error:
Product: RWD uPerform Server -- This Release requires Oracle 11.2 R2 ODP Client to be Installed.
If you are not using Oracle, please use the regular 4.30.0 release.
If you are using Oracle, please install ODP.NET and then re-run the Setup. Setup will be aborted now.
I installed the ODP.NET whit the version 11.2.0.2.
    But the errors still occur.
    Thanks.
    Marco Kolombesky

In the end I solved my problem.
But I installed RWD uperform 4.4 (not 4.3).
But I think that the problem was that when I installed uperform 4.3 I didn't run this command at DB level on my SQL Server datadabe:
    ALTER DATABASE AdventureWorks2008R2
        SET READ_COMMITTED_SNAPSHOT ON;
    GO

  • Does Adobe Acrobat Professional 8 works fine on Windows 2008 64-bit R2 server?

    Hi,
Currently, we use Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.1 on Windows 2003 server.  We mainly use the Distiller to convert PDF files.
If we migrate the 2003 server to Windows 2008 64-bit R2 server, does version 8.1 works fine?
If not, which version support Windows 2008 64-bit R2 server?
    Appreciate to have a feedback.

As long as you are looking to use it for local use only, and not as part of the server, I suspect it does work. AA X is the first that was certified for operation on Server 2008, but still only for local use. Any server use is a violation of the license. If you have Server 2008, why not just try it -- but be sure to abide with the license. Be sure to install the updates with the 64-bit system.

    TIA!

TIA!After a database re-install on my Windows 7 laptop 2 months ago I tried to install the HTTP server but had trouble getting it to work. After a day or two I gave up and used the EPG which works with some performance issues - pages can take many seconds to render. I think there is a conflict between the EPG and security software on the laptop but have not been able to pin down the exact problem. Anyway, the EPG is not an option for you and even Oracle does not reccommend it for production implementations. The EPG is okay for quick-and-dirty R & D but real implentation should have something better. I prefer the EPG on my laptop because the Apex listener required an extra window to be open that I was likely to close by mistake (my error yes. Reality is sometimes stupid).
I have had several sucessful installs on older versions of Apex on Oracle 9 and 10 on Windows XP using the HTTP server but always struggle with the configuration; getting the settings in the .conf file (whatever it is called now) correct remains difficult (at least for me). I keep installation notes on problems encountered and their solutions. Typical issues I encounter are
    1. Incorrect configuration file settings
    2. Improper loading of images
    3. Missing installation steps (unlocking ANONYMOUS, for instance, or not updating the PL/SQL version).
    4. Make sure the correct URL is being used
    5. When using the HTTP Server making sure it is running by using its URL is very heplful
Follow the installation instructions for your platform and listener. If something does not work first review the installtion instructions very carefully, then perform web searches for answers to the problem. Except for last time when I lost patience with the HTTP server the installations have always worked.
I also find Windows 7 painful - the added security prevents me from editing needed files without jumping through hoops. I don't even want to think about Windows 8 ...

  • 32bit browser on 64bit Windows 2008 Server

    We're running 32-bit IE 7.0 on a 64-bit installation of
Windows 2008 Server. When attempting to download Adobe Flash Player
from adobe.com, we receive the message that our platform is not
    supported.
This article mentions it is possible to use a 32-bit browser
on a 64-bit OS with Flash Player:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/6b3af6c9
And this one suggests that Windows 2008 Server is supported:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/systemreqs/index.html
What are we missing? Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks in advance.

I sent out some pings about this situation yesterday but
    haven't gotten anything back yet.
Flash Player itself supports any 32-bit browser running on a
64-bit OS. That's not the problem here... What you're seeing is OS
detection on the Flash Player Download center.
So I'm still waiting for someone from the web team to get

  • Issues installing 10g ODAC on Windows 2008 with Oracle 10g Express

I am new to Oracle and am having an issue installing Oracle Data Access Components on Oracle 10g 64bit running on Windows 2008 64bit.
I need the ODAC installed to enable integration with SSIS.
The issue I have if i install using ODAC10203x64 the setup file fails with a javaw error and the ntdll.dll.
I then downloaded the ODAC1110720 which states it backwards compatible. It installs just fine, but now i am not sure as to how to configure it correctly as the Configuration util that loads in ODAC10203x64 does not run.
The ODBC drivers are not visible under the ODBC connection manager although this may be an issue of just opening the 32Bit version.
    Any help would be appreciated

    Hi Ibrahim,
You should decide what you require.
32bit version can be installed on 64bit server and this should work fine (check the certification matrix for this).
The "problem" is that you would not gain any performance benefit from the 64bit server
If you want to have benefit you can upgrade the JVM to 64 bit version.
I did this 3 years ago and I do not remember exact steps though everything worked OK.
    WARNING:
this  can be unsupported, ask support to be sure
    - Install the 32 bit version on the server
    - Download 64 bit Java JRE/JDK and install it (well, you can search the same release as included in the AppServer or try newer one, 7 for example)
    - later, reconfigure the appserver so it uses the version you've installed, OR Copy the everything from c:\progfiles\java\... to the directory OraHome\... (forgot exact directories)
try to search the forum, there had been a thread with the same question

  • Windows 2008 64-bit SQL Server 2008 64-bit Linked Server fails - ODBC connects but has issues

Installed the 64 but Oracle 11g client and Oracle ODAC.
From SQL Server Management Studio run script :  exec master.dbo.xp_cmdshell 'PING OracleHostNameHere'        Ping was successful

Msg 15015, Level 16, State 1, Procedure sp_addlinkedsrvlogin, Line 49     The server 'TheHostName' does not exist. Use sp_helpserver to show available servers.
Did the same process on a Windows 7 32 bit Enterprise - ODBC Works after installing ODAC
ODBC worked, shows list of Oracle servers - picked the server - ODBC successful - MS Access able to use that ODBC service.
In Windows 2008 64 bit installed both Oracle 11g Client and 64 bit ODAC - ODBC opens, the list of oracle servers doesn't populate, hard code in the host name - ODBC reports Success.
Another Person Suggested:  Win7 64-bit with Oracle 11g. Oddly enough, it ran differently when I opened a command prompt window as administrator and ran setup.exe with the suggested command-line options:
setup.exe -debug -printtime -printmemory -printdiskusage -logLevel finest
While it had previously been failed both by running setup from the Explorer windows as administrator and by running it from the command line as administrator - it died every time at the same point mentioned by others in this thread - just after this message appeared in the log:
    Get view named [SummaryUI]
( I have tried re installing with no success)

    Windows 7 Enterprise 32-Bit
Installed the version 12 for 32 bit ODAC and it worked. The key is to Install as Administrator once it is unzipped.
Was able to set up Listener then
Was able to set up ODBC using the ODAC. Connect MS Access 2010 to the Oracle views.
Then, tried to install the 64 Bit onto Windows 2008 Server.
It locked up during installation both times.
    Installed ODAC without an error.
However, the ODBC setup will not provide a list of the servers in the ODBC  TNS Service Name listbox for Server 2008.
In Windows 7, it populates the TNS Service Name.
The list box in Windows 2008 is empty.
Do you know what would cause that?
The .ORA file scrips look the same on Windows 2008 as they do on Windows 7 except it does not have the (server = Dedicated) argument.
    Thanks.
