I want to know what is the advantage of using "Mapping Reporting Application" over replicated partioning, and also what should be the real use of "Mapping Reporting Application"
One example of why you may want to use this functionality is you say you have a reporting database such as an ASO database reporting actuals and you want to push a proportion of the forecast/budget data from the planning application into the ASO model. It could also be that you have a number of different cubes that you need to push different areas of data to from your planning application
When I first read about this new functionality I assumed it would create a replicated partition and push the data to the mapped database, I thought it would manage the partition so it wasn’t destroyed with a refresh, this is not the way it works though but more about that later.Can you please explain me in detail about the way of working of this functionality

I don't know if there is any advantage, it is just a different way going about it, the planning method exports and then loads the data, is that better than a replicated partition I am not sure but everybody has there own opinions.

Map Reporting Application - Push Data process creating 40 MB size files

Hi all,
We have 6 map reporting applications in our Planning app. 2 of them push data to a BSO cube, 4 of them push data to an ASO cube. For the ASO cube ones, the process creates files that are about 40 MB size in the Essbase server under C:\Windows\Temp folder. The files are encrypted. I can't tell what the content is... The only reason I think the push data process creates these files is because of the date stamp of the files. They match the push data process.
Have you seen this? Is there a way to stop it? Since we run this process every hour and the files are pretty big, we run out of disk space pretty quickly. Our work around is to purge the files or delete them, but it would be ideal if we can stop this.

Mapping Planning Applications to Reporting Applications

Hi
I recently upgrade to 11.1.2 and found out the feature name Mapping Planning Applications to Reporting Applications
I complete all steps and then click on push data.
when I click "push data" I receive the following error, any advice?
TRANSFORM elasped time: 15
Push Data failed. Error: The dimension -1 is invalid.
dim1 is account where on the map dimension I choose "not linked"
then on the POV I have mapped between two accounts , revenue_s to revenue.
what is worng?

Refer SAP Note: 579761 for OpenPS.
Then to integrate SAP and Primavera , you can use various integration tools available. One of them is Primavera Inspire.

SAP Best Practices V 4.31 questions- Getting errors while mapping reports.

Case 1:
I am trying to map following reports from SAP BP V 4.31 to our data sources:
a)POSD-Month-Material Group
b)POSD-Month Suppliers
c)POSD-Suppliers
These are the 3 reports out of 9 reports under trade dashboard.
We have followed the steps outlined in section 9 and used the code provided in appendix IX of the "Manual data source creation document" ,
These reports seem to use a field "DMBTR" :
Report claims this field(DMBTR ) would exist under following structure : ZBPBI131_STRU_TRADE_POSD
But the document specified this(DMBTR) field as part of structure : ZBPBI131_STRU_TRADE_PO
And the report is hence showing this field as orphaned and needs to be mapped while updating source.
I am clueless what is wrong ( document and code given there (or) report version i got) and how to map that DMBTR field to existing infoset and what impact it would create if i force it into the infoset declining the guiding document.
Case 2:
While mapping reports under" Sales Plan vs. Actual Dashboard" , I am getting error saying "Some tables were not found" ,even after we created the Query ZBPBI131_QRYSD on top of its infoset in SAP.
I am clueless what have gone wrong.We have followed exact steps as mentioned in the manual data source creation document.
Any help from anyone is greatly appreciated.

Crystal Reports "Report Application Server"

Does anyone have any experience with Crystal Reports' Report Application Server (RAS)?
The provided documentation is very thin and support are taking an age to respond.
I want to use a Bean as a data source for a report. The blurb says you can do this, but the only documented way I can find is for the bean to return a ResultSet, completely missing the point of using a bean or EJB in the first place.
Now, Seagate's sales blurb states that Beans and EJBs can be used as data sources, but if the only way to do this is to return a common or garden ResultSet, what's the point of the bean???
So, has anyone sucessfully used a bean or EJB as a data source for report generation under RAS, or merely CR in general, without resorting to a ResultSet??

Crystal Reports YUK!! especially in Java Forum!Tell me about it!!
But, like many developers, I don't get a choice. I have to use CR, and I have to integrate it into a Tomcat (4.1.24) based app. There is a Java API for RAS, but it is a pile of dung. Can you imagine publishing an API with public methods with 'do not use, for internal use only' plastered all over them!!!
But still, back to the original question, I have to find a way of doing this, but Seagate's javadocs are a mess, as are the howto docs. All of the examples, as you might expect, are childishly simple and don't give any insight into the large and hideous API :(

Crystal Reports designer can introspect the class as a Bean. The JavaBean
connectivity classes require the following.
� The constructor must have zero parameters.
� Methods that are used as "tables" must have a return type of ResultSet.
� Statement objects must be created using the

Note: Methods returning ResultSet can take arguments, these are treated as

Now, what the hell is the point of going to the trouble of abstracting your business data into a bean or EJB, if that bean has to return a ResultSet for Crystal Reports to use??!!

Deployment of a crystal report application with visual 2005

Hello all,
I am very new at .NET, and this is my first post to this forum.
I've created a report (example.rpt) with Crystal Reports 2008. Then I've installed "Crystal Report for visual .net 2005 component".
Then I've imported it in a vb.net project using its Crystal Report Application Template, complied it and succesfully tested it on my machine.
My next objective is to manage the deployment of my report on the end-user machine. Here started my problem.....
Following suggestions I found on the net, I tried to create a Setup Project to deploy my application including Crystal Report runtime components; the report is included in the project as an embedded resource. Apparently the setup project as been correctly builded; if I run it my machine everything is ok but on end-user machine it generated this error:
EventType clr20r3, P1 reportarts.exe, P2 1.0.0.0, P3 49feecfc, P4 reportarts, P5 1.0.0.0, P6 49feecfc, P7 e, P8 c6, P9 system.invalidoperationexception, P10 NIL.
I tried on different windows SP2 - SP3 machines, with .NET Framework 2.0 alredy installed but the error is the same.

I have notice that
I've created a report (example.rpt) with Crystal Reports 2008. Then I've installed "Crystal Report for visual .net 2005 component".
Is that meam you have developed the reports in CR 2008(Seperate product) and installed CR for VS2005 (CR 10.5) and using CR 2008 reports in CR 10.5 environment?
Would like to inform that CR 2008 and CR 10.5 which comes with VS2005 are completely different and if in case you are converting the CR 2008 reports to CR 10.5 then you need to be careful for deployment because the correct runtimes should be installed on the deployment system.
You can check the integrated CR with VS by opening VS environment and go to help - about - and check the CR version.
If you are using the VS 2005 CR 10.5 then click [here|http://resources.businessobjects.com/support/communityCS/FilesAndUpdates/cr_net_2005_mergemodules_mlb_x86.zip] to install latest merge modules.

SSRS Map report

Hi ,
I am facing one difficulties in SSRS Map report.
In my map report there are many states coming ,some having data some not
I have linked states to other report so if I click on state having data it will go to another
report, I want not to show clickable on states which is blank ,i have markerd those states have no data in white colour.

According to your description, you want to have the states with data link to detail report by clicking. Right?
In Reporting Servcies, if we want to have the states link to another report, we can right click on the polygon, select Map->Map Properties->Action->Go to report. Choose the detail report and pass the state as parameter so that the detail report
can filter report based on this value.
Please post some screenshot of sample you want if possible.

Load Report Failed - Report Application Server Failed error at runtime

Hello, I'm pretty new to Crystal Reports so please bear with me.
I just installed CR 2008 on my development box, which is running VS2005 .NET 2.0. I changed over all of my assembly references in my web.config to the new version:

Now, in my code behind I am simply trying to open a pre-built crystal report that came in the sample pack
When I try and do this in our already built website I get an error:
"Load report failed"
With the inner exception saying:
"The Report Application Server failed"
This same piece of code works perfectly if I build a new website, however when I try and impliment this into our existing code base I get the error shown above. Also the samples I've used all use .NET 3.5 and the website is in 2.0. I'm not sure if that is a factor or not but that is also another piece of information that could be useful.
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for you're time.

Order cost plan in report CN41N

Hi Gurus,
Would appreciate if any one of share what is 'Order Cost Plan" in report CN41N.
Infact, the values displayed in Order cost plan column neither coincide with either Project Cost Plan nor Actual cost displayed.

Hi PSR,
Order Cost Plan in CN41N is PM Order Plan Costs figure.
If you create PM Order and assign WBS Element/Project Def in Additional Data Tab of PM Order after planning Material services system will consider WBSE as Costing object and Plan and Post cost on WBSE. It will appears in CN41N in Order Cost Plan column.

How to create Map report?

Hello experts.
I'd like to know how map report works in OBIEE 11G..
Upon researching and trials, I have successfully downloaded and loaded the MVdemo stuff into my DB. I am able to import layers and back ground map into OBIEE. So at this point, I think I have set up the map metadata successfullly and I am able to use map as one of the view.
However, I'd like to know how to actually use the map view to create reports that are meaningful with my data..
I have 1 table, base table, where I have base name, attribute 1...10, latitude and longitude. I also have some fact tables that goes with this table.
It seems, as I was going through the MVdemo metadata, the cities table doesn't store all of the cities in the world (this is understandable), so the part of Russia where my bases are located aren't found in the spatial data.
My base table only has latitude and longitude, it doesn't have geographic region names.
Now I want to create one report that shows all of my bases over east part of Russia on a map, so I want to see a map of Russia with Base names plot all over it.
How would I be able to do it? Do I need additional tables or data to do it?
The examples I get from internet seems to be too generic

1. I notice that the author has a subject area 'Map', which was used to create map.. Is this subject area any different from normal subject or is it created specifically for making maps?
2. The author has state, city columns in the DB, which was used to map to the report.. In my case, I only have longitude and altitude of my base in the base table, what can I do in this case?

Drill Down in Map Report

I've been trying to get drill down reporting working in a map report I've created an can't seem to get things to behave properly. So far, I've done everything I've read in several posts, but yet drill don still isn't functional.
Here's what I've done:
- Downloaded esri file from online and imported the spatial data in my SQL Server
- Created a map report using spatial data as a source for the map. I also have a dataset based on an Analysis Services query...Sales by State. Each figure has a corresponding state abbreviation. Below is the map report. The map report takes one parameter:
Year. The report is a color analytical map. Colors vary based on sales amount and year.
Below is the map display:
I have a second report called SalesByState that takes two parameters: State and Year.
What I would like to happen is when a user clicks on a state, they are taken directly to the report that lists detail information based on the year and the state chosen in the first map report. The year isn't getting passed to the second report nor is the
state clicked on.
When I set up the Action tab in the Polygon Properties dialog, I'm not seeing the dataset values as available as a parameter. When trying to give an expression for the state parameter, I get an error:
=First(Fields!STUSPS.Value, "SQLSpatialData") saying "Unknown Collection Member".
The STUSPS field is the state abbreviation.
Not sure what I'm missing here!

Please refer to the steps below:
Subreport:
Add two datasets in the report: Spatial data, ContactState.
Add a parameter in the report named SpatialData. Please refer to the following Available Values:
Dataset: Spatial data
Value field: STUSPS
Label field: STUSPS
Add a table in the report fill with specify data.
Right click the table, select Tablix Properties.
Click Visibility in the left pane. Select “Show or hide based on an expression” option, and type following expression:
=IIF(Parameters!STUSPS.Value="ID" ,False,True)
(Note: It is use parameter’s value to control the tablix visibility.)
Main report:
Based on your map design, click the PointLayer arrow in the Map Layers dialog box, select Point Properties.
Click Action in the left pane. Select “Go to report” option.
Select the specific subreport below “Specify a report”.
Click Add, please refer to these values below:
Name: SpatialData (Subreport Parameter’s name) Value: [STUSPS]
