11.3 File Upload Extension

Since upgrading to 11.3 we're unable to install the file upload extension for firefox (ESR 24.5) on OS X (tried 10.8 and 10.9 - the extension works fine in win7). The link "Install the Novell File Upload extension to upload directories" is there but clicking doesn't do anything. It was working under 11.2.4, but hasn't worked since we upgraded to 11.3. Has anyone else run into this and found a solution?

Whilst I think you're correct the documentation needs updating since it
currently implies that whilst IE is supported on Windows (well duh!) and
Firefox 26.0 and 27.0 on Windows and Linux, Firefox ESR 17.0 and 24.0
are supported on all platforms due to absence of Windows and/or Linux
qualifiers.
From
https://www.novell.com/documentation...uirements.html
--begin--
The following web browsers are supported:
* Internet Explorer 8 (32-bit only) on Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows
Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2008 R2
* Internet Explorer 9 (32-bit only) on Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows
Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2008 R2
* Internet Explorer 10 (32-bit only) on Windows Vista, Windows 7,
Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server
2008 R2, Windows 8, and Windows Server 2012
IMPORTANT:
* Internet Explorer versions prior to version 8 are not supported.
* Internet Explorer 11 is not supported; there are a few known issues
related to the support of this version of Internet Explorer in ZENworks.
* Firefox ESR version 17.0 and 24.0
* Firefox version 26.0 and 27.0 (including any patches) on Windows and
Linux devices
---end---
I'll report it (along with missing CSS formatting and some broken links
I just found).

  • Unable to install the Novell File Upload extension to upload directories

    Using Firefox 9.0.1 on Windows 7 I'm unable to install the Novell File
    Upload extension to upload directories.
    As per the pop-up help page, I've added
    extensions.install.requireBuiltInCerts in about:config and set it to
    false but that has made no difference, even after restarting the browser.
    I've also tried this with Firefox 9.0.1 on Mac OS X Snow Leopard
    (10.6.8) - unsupported I know - with the same result.
    Do I really have to use Internet Explorer? Urgh!

    So, with Firefox, first hitting http://<server>/zenworks/ after install
    displays
    --begin--
    This Connection is Untrusted
    You have asked Firefox to connect securely to <server>, but we can't
    confirm that your connection is secure.
    Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted
    identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However,
    this site's identity can't be verified.
    What Should I Do?
    If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could
    mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't
    continue.
    [Get me out of here!]
    > Technical Details
    > I Understand the Risks
    ---end---
    so I click "I Understand the Risks", [Add Exception...] then [Confirm
    Security Exception] at which point http://<server>/zenworks/ correctly
    displays and I can log in. Checking Tools | Options | [View
    Certificates] shows an (Unknown) server certificate for <server> with a
    Permanent lifetime.
    Is that what you mean by trusting the ZCM CA?
    Perhaps this is why Firefox 9.x is not a supported browser though I
    thought that was more to do with Mozilla treating major version numbers
    as minor ones? Gee if only Firefox hadn't automatically upgraded itself
    from 8.x to 9.x!
    Thanks.

  • Searching for good ASP file upload extension...

    Hi. Can anyone recommend a really good ASP/VBScript file upload extension for DW 8.0.2?
    I've looked everywhere and most of the links on the Exchange are dead, or the companies no longer exist.
    There are some solutions offered by WebAssist but they only work with, and support, PHP now.
    I used to have Interakt's File Upload extension but, of course, Adobe bought them and wiped them out, including support for their extensions.
    I'd really appreciate your recommendations.  There's surely someone out there still using ASP/VBScript and DW 8.0.2...isn't there?
    Thank you.
    Regards
    Nath.

    Hi
    Never used this one myself, but you could try the one from dmxzone - http://www.dmxzone.com/go?12064.

  • Novell File Upload extension not Installing

    I am trying to install the Novell File Upload extension so I can upload my PE file. It will not let me install the plugin in IE or Firefox. I have tried Firefox 22 and IE 8. I have tried from an XP, Win7 and 2003 server. I have tried all of the Active X switches in IE and I have tried the adding the about:config entries in Firefox.
    Has anyone gotten this to work? To be honest this is the first time I have tried to get it to work so I can not say it was working before I updated. I went from 11.2.1 mu2 to 11.2.4.

    There is no Digital Signature tab for the .cab file or the .dll's inside the .cab file. I have only checked one of my primary servers. I will check the others. What would my next step be if none of them are signed?

  • File Upload Extension

    When using the Input File Upload (af:inputFile) component, is there a way to set the file extension for certain mime types?
    For example, when the user uploads a file, I only want to allow files with the .doc (MS Word) extension. Thanks.

    Actually not. You can only check the filename or mime type after the user has selected and uploaded the file. Then you can use the code from the post above.

  • File Upload extension that doesn't time out?!

    Can anyone recommend a good File Upload utility that won't
    time out on a
    shared server? Ideally ASP/VBScript.
    Restrictions on our shared server mean that we only have 15
    seconds to
    execute a script.
    My concern is that this just isn't going to be possible on a
    shared server
    because if someone wants to upload a 3MB image then it's,
    naturally, going
    to take more than 15 seconds.
    Would appreciate any advice, thanks.
    Regards
    Nath.

    This is not a script issue, but a server issue. You would
    need to talk to
    your host.

  • Interakt File Upload incompatible with Firefox?  Recommend ASP Upload tool?

    Hi,
    I've been using Interakt's File Upload tool for quite some
    time but have
    recently been made aware that it doesn't work in Firefox!
    Anyway, I notice that Interakt no longer exist now, having
    been bought out
    by Adobe some time ago as it turns out.
    Has anyone experienced this problem and found a solution?
    Adobe aren't
    offering any support for the Interakt products and no-one is
    answering, or
    even looking at, their forums.
    My feeling is that I'll need to just scrap the Interakt
    extension and try
    something else? Can anyone recommend a good File Upload
    extension for
    Dreamweaver ASP/VBScript?
    Please do not recommend DMX Zone as I am looking for a
    company that actually
    provides customer support for their products!
    Thanks for any advice offered. Much appreciated
    Nath.

    Hi Joris,
    Is the Adobe Dreamweaver Developer Toolkit included with
    Dreamweaver CS3?
    I'm using Dreamweaver 8.0.2 at the moment, but I would
    upgrade to CS3 if it
    included the Developer Toolkit. If not, it would appear that
    Adobe want
    $299 for it, although I'm in the UK, so it'll probably be
    double that! :o(
    I was previously using Interakt's File Upload
    behaviour/extension, but the
    re-direct code isn't Firefox compatible, so it doesn't
    re-direct correctly:
    <!--#include file="includes/common/KT_common.asp" -->
    <!--#include file="includes/tNG/tNG.inc.asp" -->
    <%
    'Make a transaction dispatcher instance
    Dim tNGs: Set tNGs = new tNG_dispatcher
    tNGs.Init ""
    %>
    <%
    'start Trigger_FileUpload trigger
    'remove this line if you want to edit the code by hand
    Function Trigger_FileUpload (ByRef tNG)
    Dim uploadObj: Set uploadObj = new tNG_FileUpload
    uploadObj.Init tNG
    uploadObj.setFormFieldName "imageone"
    uploadObj.setDbFieldName "imageone"
    uploadObj.setFolder "itemphotos/"
    uploadObj.setMaxSize 1000
    uploadObj.setAllowedExtensions "jpg, gif, jpeg"
    uploadObj.setRename "auto"
    Set Trigger_FileUpload = uploadObj.Execute()
    End Function
    'end Trigger_FileUpload trigger
    %>
    <%
    'start Trigger_Custom trigger
    Function Trigger_Custom (ByRef tNG)
    query = "SELECT rowID FROM table WHERE rowID = " &
    Session("rowIDsess")
    On Error Resume Next
    Set rsCheck = tNG.connection.Execute(query)
    if (Err.Number <> 0) OR (Not rsCheck.EOF) then
    KT_redir("confirmation.asp")
    else
    Set Trigger_Custom = nothing
    end if
    On Error GoTo 0
    End Function
    'end Trigger_Custom trigger
    %>
    As you can see, it should redirect to confirmation.asp, but
    this doesn't
    work in Firefox - it just loads a blank white page! Do you
    have a re-direct
    selected in your form using Kollection 3.7.1? Does it work?
    Is my code
    vastly different to what you've got?
    I purchased Advanced HTML Editor from DMX Zone, experienced a
    problem with
    it, sent e-mails and posted on their forum. I did not receive
    ONE reply. I
    won't be back.
    Would appreciate any help you could offer.
    Thank you.
    Nathon.

  • Upload extension and TID 7007866

    I am running ZCM 10.3.3. Attempting to upload an executable. Zenworks
    always displays "A newer version of Novell File Upload extension is
    available. Click here to upgrade". I found TID 7007866 and followed

    "Firefox could not install the file at
    https://zenworks.msktd.com/zenworks/...euploadext.xpi
    because: Signing could not be verified.

    How do I get this to work?
    Regards,

    Most Likely, you are not using a supported version of FireFox.

  • Rename file extension during a file upload ??

    I need to rename the extension of a file at some point during the file upload. I am not sure where to do this at.
    The file needs to be renamed before it is written to the directory.
    Basically, the file will come in with a .txt or .doc type. Based on a users profile, I will change the type to a non-relavent number such as 1111.
    Here is my upload servlet. Can you tell me where to change the type so it will write the file with the new extension?

  • How to configure file upload restriction by file extension?

    Hi All,
    I want to know if its possible to restrict the file upload for any file extensions in CM Repositories. For example, I want that the users can not upload .avi files. Can I configure that restriction?
    Regards and Thanks,
    Arnau Rovira

    Hi,
    > How can I create a repository service?
    > It's like a web service?
    No. A repository service is a standard pluggable service within the KM framework. Search for "repository service" on SDN for further details.
    > can I copy the upload command
    > from the actual repository service
    The upload command is the upload command is the upload command. It is not bound to any repository service.
    Yes, you can try to extract all implementation classes for the actual upload command and create a new one under a new namespace and modify the interesting parts after decompilation. But be warned: Your questions signal that you are a beginner in the KM framework, and the things described so far are more in the direction "hardcore development"...
    Hope it helps nevertheless

  • Threading problem during File Upload with Apache faces upload tag

    First I am going to tell you "My Understanding of how JSF Apache Upload works, Correct me if i am wrong".
    1) Restores View (to show Input box and Browse button to facilitate users to select a file for upload)
    2) Translates Request Parameters to Component Values (Creates equivalent components to update them with request values).
    3) Validates Input(Checks to see whether the User has input the correct file)
    4) Updates Backing Bean or Model to reflect the values.
    5) Renders response to user.
    I am uploading huge files of sizes 400MB and above with the help of JSF apache extensions tag
    <h:form id="uploadForm" enctype="multipart/form-data">
    <x:inputFileUpload style="height:20px;" id="upload" value="#{backingbean.fileContents}" storage="file" size="50" />
    </h:form>
    In the backing bean
    private UploadedFile fileContents;
         public UploadedFile getFileContents() {
              return fileContents;
         public void setFileContents(UploadedFile fileContents) {
              System.out.println("File being uploaded...");
              this.fileContents = fileContents;
    Since, the file size is so huge, I am using temp folder to use for the apache tag instead of memory.
    In web.xml i am using like this
    <filter>
    <filter-name>ExtensionsFilter</filter-name>
    <filter-class>org.apache.myfaces.component.html.util.ExtensionsFilter</filter-class>
    <init-param>
    <param-name>uploadMaxFileSize</param-name>
    <param-value>600m</param-value>
    </init-param>
    <init-param>
    <param-name>uploadThresholdSize</param-name>
    <param-value>10m</param-value>
    </init-param>
         <init-param>
    <param-name>uploadRepositoryPath</param-name>
    <param-value>/uploadfolder/</param-value>
    </init-param>
    </filter>
    <filter-mapping>
    <filter-name>ExtensionsFilter</filter-name>
    <servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
    </filter-mapping>
    The upload process is working perfectly fine.
    Now coming to the problem:
    Suppose one user is logging into the application & uploading say 400MB of files.
    Until these files are linked to the model objects as my understanding of step 2, if second user tries to open the application he gets stuck with the loading page.
    The page gets loaded only after the request files are linked to the component values(Step 2 above) and updates the backing bean's values.
    I don't see any error in the logs. User is getting stuck. The user is getting stuck only when uploading the files. The other operations like searching are not blocking any other activities performed by the user.
    Server used: IBM Application Server V6.0. CPU is normal, memory usage is normal.

    Dear friend,
    i am also trying to upload using the common file upload.
    when try to run the file error is coming
    can give some suggestion.
    can i use if concurrent user file upload at a time

  • How can I make Firefox 4's "File Upload" window start in the same directory across all sites?

    I upload webcomic image files to multiple sites every day--the same file to multiple sites--through the "File Upload" window that comes up in Firefox when you click on a site's "Browse..." file request field.
    In Firefox 3 (under Windows XP), when I used Firefox's "File Upload" window to upload files, the "File Upload" window would come up showing the last directory from which I'd uploaded anything to ANY site.
    In Firefox 4, on the other hand, the "File Upload" window comes up showing the last directory from which I last uploaded to that specific domain.
    I'd like to know if there's an about:config setting--I couldn't find one when searching for "file," "upload," or "dir"--to revert to the Firefox 3 behavior. The reason is that now in Firefox 4, because I typically upload two files to four different web sites per day--one file to all four sites, then later in the day, a second file to all four sites--I have to switch from the first upload directory to the second upload directory in each of the four "File Upload" windows for the second file, whereas in Firefox 3 I only had to do that once. Here's how it used to go:
    In Firefox 3:
    # "File Upload" for file 1 at smbhax.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different location than file 2 from the previous day.
    # "File Upload" for file 1 at drunkduck.com: desired local directory is already selected.
    # "File Upload" for file 1 at smackjeeves.com: desired local directory is already selected.
    # "File Upload" for file 1 at comicfury.com: desired local directory is already selected.
    # "File Upload" for file 2 at smbhax.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different directory than file 1.
    # "File Upload" for file 2 at drunkduck.com: desired local directory is already selected.
    # "File Upload" for file 2 at smackjeeves.com: desired local directory is already selected.
    # "File Upload" for file 2 at comicfury.com: desired local directory is already selected.
    and here's how it goes under Firefox 4:
    # "File Upload" for file 1 at smbhax.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different location than file 2 from the previous day.
    # "File Upload" for file 1 at drunkduck.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different location than file 2 from the previous day.
    # "File Upload" for file 1 at smackjeeves.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different location than file 2 from the previous day.
    # "File Upload" for file 1 at comicfury.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different location than file 2 from the previous day.
    # "File Upload" for file 2 at smbhax.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different directory than file 1.
    # "File Upload" for file 2 at drunkduck.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different directory than file 1.
    # "File Upload" for file 2 at smackjeeves.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different directory than file 1.
    # "File Upload" for file 2 at comicfury.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different directory than file 1.
    So basically, where under Firefox 3 I only had to browse through my directories twice per day to upload two files to four sites, under Firefox 4, I have to browse through my directories eight times per day to accomplish the same thing.

    You can use the Remember Password bookmarklet: <br />
    https://www.squarefree.com/bookmarklets/forms.html#remember_password <br /> ''Has worked for me when I have needed it to save a password on a web site that used autocomplete=off.'' As far as the Bug that '''cor-el''' linked, I can't remember ever running across a website that did it like that.
    Or, you can use the Saved Password Editor extension, which includes a means of manually adding Username/Passwords to Firefox. <br />

  • I get a file upload popup when composing an email using Godaddy webmail. How can I prevent this from happening?

    When I try to compose an email from Godaddy's webmail in the Firefox browser. My steps are as follows:
    -Open Firefox.
    -Log in to Godaddy webmail.
    -I hit the compose button.
    -New window pops up. This is the window that I would compose an email in.
    - Right after the compose window loads, I get another window that pops up. This window says "File Upload" in the upper left corner.
    If I exit that window I can then compose my email, and life is good until I want to compose another email. Then the problem repeats. I have contacted Godaddy support and the problem is not on their end. Also the problem DOES NOT happen when using another browser (Internet Explorer).

    The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
    Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
    To Reset Firefox do the following:
    #Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
    #Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
    #Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
    #Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
    Further information can be found in the [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]] article.

  • Problem using File upload in portlets

    hello there
    I'm trying to use file upload component in one of my portlets. I searched a lot about a working component to be used in portlets since the standard one that comes with JSC doesn't work in portlets. I managed to get commons file upload and tomahawk to run in my portlet, but when I choose a file and try to get selected file's details it throughs a NullPointerException reporting that the file object is null.
    so please can anyone guide me to a working portlet example, I tried to find one but I couldn't. if that's hard to find, what should I do ?
    thank you in advance
