11.3 Firefox - Strong Blur on FB's flash game

FlashPlayer 11.3 Plugin since at least build 257 when used on Firefox (12+) produces some very bad drag'n'drop scrolling on the FB game Battle Pirates. Sluggish, high-CPU, blurred.
I've made a video showing the problem:
https://vimeo.com/46471851
Video password: flash113
Download the video to see it clearly.
Notes: The problem can't be seem when running the game in Fullscreen, or when using IE ActiveX FlashPlayer. In Opera, it is slow to scroll, but not blurred.
Up to 11.2 it looks ok in Firefox.
PS.: OS is Win7 x64, 32bit browsers

Thanks for the tip on how to disable the protected mode.
It fixed the blur, but the performance of dragging the game map is still very poor.
Toggling the Hw Accel don't have effects (maybe because the game don't use it?). Same when disabling FF's hw accel.

• Using Chrome's Flash game saves in Firefox

With the changes made to Chrome recently, I am switching back to Firefox :-)
That being said, I noticed that my Chrome Flash game saves don't seem to work in Firefox. I have created symbolic links to a single folder for both browsers' Flash game saves. Chrome works fine and pulls up the saved games, but if I try with Firefox, it doesn't read them...nor does it save over the same files.
Does Firefox do something differently when using Flash game saves?

While Firefox uses Adobe Flash Player, Chrome uses a version of flash player made by them (called PepperFlash). These two flash players work very differently. I don't think you're going to be able to access saved games from one in another.

• Firefox ESR 10.0.12 disables flash plugin - updates to the last version do not work?

Suddenly - without any actions by me - FF ESR 10.0.12 refuses to accept Adobe Flash? (System Win 7 64 Ultimate)
It started with a very annoying bar, which cost me 2 hours to deactivate, which told me to update an very old and unused Adobe Reader plugin. Then it insisted, that the Foxit PDF reader plugin was not up to date. Since I do not use it, I deactivated it too. Since I seldom use Flash, I just found out today, that youtube does not work anymore - FF insists, that my flash plugin is too old and it deactivated it.
This has cost me hours up to now and it is _exactly_ the reason why I use the ESR channel.
What I did:
Deinstalled Adobe Flash completely (using Windows). Used the normal Firefox update, which it recommends (your flash player was deactivated, please install...). No success, it simply goes into a loop, always telling me my flash player is too old.
I also installed it directly from Adobe (the Firefox version!!), in all cases it reports version 11.5.502.104. The last version from Adobe - but it seems to be too old???
I am spitting angry now - this kind of trouble is the reason I only use ESR versions from Mozilla. I do not want your chaos troupe to play around with _my_ installation. But obviously you found ways to do so.
If this is not solved (and no, I will _not_ reinstall Firefox, I will _not_ delete my profile) in a few days, Firefox is dead for me. I am already looking to Chrome and Opera. Many friends have these browsers - I am a bit conservative, and I want my browser stable and the look an feel should be stable also. I do _not_ want a new version every two weeks, which every time costs my effort and time to configure it how I want it.
The question here is: How did you manage to disable the last version of Flash, and why? Why must I now register here and invest valuable time to get my browser to work again?? If I had done something, installed or removed something, ok. But I did not. (And yes, up to now I did update Flash and other plugins, when I was prompted to do so)
Clearly _your_ management does _not_ work: If I use the solutions which FF itself recommends, it sends me in an endless loop: Install newest Flash, sorry, Flash is outdated, install newest Flash...
Is this the 'new security'? Bah. If you did this for the 'normal user' (which you obviously do not respect anymore), you failed. And you failed completely for me: If software insists to do things 'automatically', it should at least do them reliably, _or_ it should ask. But working in the background, changing important things, reporting nothing, and then failing is exactly the reason why I disable all 'automatic' activities and want to be _asked_ before some idiotic piece of c.... deconfigures itself - and stops working...
Hints to the Troubleshooting Info below:
At this time Flash player is installed, shows in the systems software list as 'Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin', Version 11.5.502.146. The rest are my normal plugins. Serveral changes to about:config were done by me in an effort to make FF usable again, without nagging 'info' bars...

Additional information - according to the wiki you pointed me to, it was correct to uninstall flash using Windows control panel. I am very sure that I already had the latest version installed from the beginning, because Flash player pointed me to an update on Windows start (as usual) several days ago.
The error clearly lies with FF, since despite an up to date Flash player it decided it wants it new - something to do with the blacklist? How can it tell, that its outdated, if it does not find it and not show it in the list of plugins?
There is something fishy here...

• Flash games problem with Mozilla Firefox

Ok so, I'm trying to play one great flash game, I'm actually Texas hold'em addict :D so, as soon as I open it, firefox just crashes and that's it, nothing appears, no crash report or anything like that..
I'm trying to play this game: Governor of Poker 2 and this one The Forest Temple
What to do? Should I reinstall it or it could be my windows problem?
I don't really want to re-install it, because I have tons of bookmars there and got no idea how to save them, also I'm afraid that it will be waste of time.
So I'm asking you guys, maybe someone faced this problem.
Thanks in advance.

I mean, it's ok when I run other games, but those two are the problem :(

• How do I keep Firefox from asking to install the Flash plugin (which I don't want) ?

Using Firefox 26.0 for Ubuntu canonical - 1.0
How do I disable Firefox from requesting to download the Flash plugin every time I visit a site with video content?
Frequently I visit sites that have some video content; 99% of the time, I'm not interested in seeing the video; if interested, will download it and play it locally with my own video player (not Flash). Some sites
will let me play the video even without Flash.

Go to your address bar and type "about:config", press Enter, in search bar, type "plugin.state.flash", on the option that will appears double click or click with right button mouse and click and "Edit...", then change its value to 0 (never active)
0 <-- Never active.
1 <-- Ask to active.
2 <-- Default, always active.

• I have Firefox 36.0.4 and Adobe Flash 17 NPAPI but Flash Player does not appear in my plugins

Thank you in advance for your help.
I have a HP 6910p running Windows Vista Business, and updated Adobe Flash to 17 NPAPI, and Adobe Shockwave Player to 12.1 and I am running Firefox 36.0.4. Adobe Flash is completely missing from my plugins, but it does appear in my program manager. I can not play any video in Firefox at all. If I go to a video site like YouTube the screen freezes then this message appears - "Shockwave Flash may be busy or have stopped responding. You can stop the plugin now, or you can continue to see if the plugin will complete."
I desperately need some help as I refuse to rely on the evil minions at Google by using Chrome which captures your every keystroke.
I have checked and both Adobe Shockwave Player and Adobe Flash are installed correctly.
Does anyone have a solution.

The plugin uses the name "Shockwave Flash" which I do see in your "More System Details" so it must be set to either "Always Activate" or "Ask to Activate".
This is some standard guidance that addresses the most common issues with the Flash Player plugin. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:
(1) If you have any recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media make sure they are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them temporarily.
(2) Disable hardware acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
(A) In Firefox, un-check the box here:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
That takes effect the next time you exit and start Firefox up again.
(B) In Flash, right-click the media and choose Settings, then the first mini-tab and uncheck the box to use hardware acceleration. More information in this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
(3) Disable protected mode (Windows Vista and higher)
The protected mode feature of the Flash player plugin has security benefits, but seems to have compatibility issues on some systems. You can disable it by creating or editing a settings file. The following pages/posts provide different approaches for that:
* Adobe support article under the heading "Last Resort": Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?
* Manual steps: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/968190?page=5#answer-509209
* Batch file to automate the manual steps: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/982093#answer-518078 (alternate version of Carm's batch file with a few changes by me: )
Flash needs to completely unload from memory (exiting and starting Firefox up again might help) before this takes effect.
Any improvement?

• Why are flash games not working properly on Firefox, while they work perfectly on other browsers?

I own a MacBook os x 10.5.8 Intel core duo.
My problem started a few weeks ago, I tried playing a flash game, first it came up that i didnt have flash, which I did, so I ran an update but I already had the latest version.
I gave up on the games on that page and went to newgrounds.com, but turns out everytime I try to play a game the controls wont work properly on any game.
I thought it might be my flash, so I went to chrome and played the same game, no problems, to opera, no problems, to safari also no problems. So the problem is my firefox and the flash plug in? I already uninstalled it and re installed it, downloaded it again and followed every piece of advice I could find about this, nothing works.
I appreciate some help with this matter, I like working with firefox, wouldnt want to change to other browsers.

Hi gorgonzola357, there are some platform-specific differences between Windows 7 and MacOSX that may be relevant.
Have you tried disabling the new protected mode in Flash 11.3, since that feature is currently being debugged? • Have reset Firefox & completed all of steps in "Flash video won't play full screen on YouTube, Facebook and other websites", but video still won't work. Help!

I have reset Firefox, completed all the steps in "flash video won't play full screen on YouTube, Facebook and other websites". And the video still won't play in full screen. It will play, but frequently stops or sound continues and picture freezes. I have noticed that if I continually move my mouse, it plays fine. All these videos play fine in IE and Chrome.

Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See this article for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
#Go to this Adobe Flash Player Help page.
#Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
#Click on Settings in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
# Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel. <br/> <br/> <br/>
# Remove the check mark from Enable hardware acceleration.
# Click Close to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
# Restart Firefox.

• The sound at youtube goes mute automatically and/or when i'm in a flash game and i press a link the sound also mutes. it only happened when i updated firefox :(

the sound mutes, the bar keeps downloading and "playing"
when i go back or pause+play the sound goes back on
when im playing a game i have to open chrome because the sound mutes everytime i click anything on the (flash) game
im considering moving to chrome, im very disapointed with last firefox update, its full of bugs... ;(

Recent crashes of certain multimedia contents (this includes Youtube videos, certain flash games and other applications) in conjunction with Firefox are most probably caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update and/or a malfunctioning Real Player browser plugin.

• Firefox is disabling all plugins (including flash) by default and will not let me enable them

I am using Firefox 23 (updated) and the latest flash plugin from Adobe's website. I am trying to access any pages with flash on them, and it says the flash plugin is disabled. When I pull up the plugins page, it says all of my plugins are disabled. If I click on them, I do not get a "Enable" button. I only have a "Remove" button. If I click on "More" and select "Always Activate" at the bottom and then restart the browser, the plugins are still disabled.
I deleted my addons.sqlite & pluginreg.dat as well (per another suggestion on the forum) and restarted -- there is no change.
I am so frustrated. I have used firefox for years, and I have never had the problems I have had with plugins and flash before this year. I am on the verge of going full-time to Chrome (which is NOT having these problems.). Please help me!

hello jesabele, if you have a "remove" button next to plugins something fundamentally is wrong (since plugins cannot be removed in firefox, because they are installed on a system level). please try to reset firefox and see if this can address the issue...

• Firefox freezes for up to a minute when I have two tabs open and running a video and a flash game. Why?

Firefox freezes for up to a minute when I have two tabs open, one playing a YouTube video, the other with a flash game running, and the screen shows the contents of both tabs, one superimposed on the other. If I have other tabs open, they also appear as visual garbage on the same screen. After the freeze, everything semi-works, starting and stopping, with long frozen hangs. The frequency of this problem is increasing and greatly reduces Firefox's operating capacity. I am using Firefox 5.0 on a Windows Vista desktop made by Hewlett-Packard. I have cleared the caches and the problem persists, and I can't find any online help to explain why this is happening. I don't recall it happening with a previous version of Firefox.

Hello jesterabk, Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)
* You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.
Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshooting extensions and themes article for that.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.
Thank you.

• Firefox hangs on all sites with flash content.

Firefox hangs on all sites with flash content. If I disable the flash plugin there is no hanging but obviously no flash content either. I have tried all the suggested actions found in the help sections for hanging and plugin problems. The Honda UK site listed below is one of many I am unable to access with flash enabled.

The key here will be to determine what is different between the machines that work and those that hang.  Of all the systems that fail, they are all Windows 7 32bit?
Yep, this issue only happens on Windows 7 32-bit machines, currently 6.
Do you have any 32bit systems that don't fail?
Yep, the most Windows 7 32-bit machines wont fail.
What about hardware, are there similarities here?  Attached devices/drivers?  Software that is running at the time?
These machines are all from DELL. They all have normal hardware, nothing special. Other machines from same type does not affected. Software: All have standard software distributed via Software-distribution (GPO). Only some PCs have special software, but it is not running. No special drives, too.
Maybe try booting Windows in safe mode to see if it still hangs?
Good idea, indeed - I will try this.
We're definitely interested in what's going on.  I'll ask our security and Mozilla folks to see if they have additional clues.
Thanks!
EDIT:
Safe mode: Flash is working! (without disabled Protected Mode!)
I've set msconfig now to: Custom system start and deselected the boxes to load systemservices and system start elements.
So, now windows does a non-safe mode boot but no service or element was loaded except the drivers (right?). Flash is not working with this config!
So, whats the difference between safe mode and normal boot with minimal configuration (see attached picture).
Only drivers will be loaded, right? If so, I can exclude the network and graphics driver as source: graphics driver are updated right now and network was working in safe-mode.
Any new ideas?

Hello,
Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See this article for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
#Go to this Adobe Flash Player Help page.
#Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
