11.7.700.202 hangs with Sirius Player

With build 202, the Sirius online audio player stops playing after approximately 30 seconds and the Flash plug-in goes to 100% core utilization until force quit. Flash itself never is reported as hung by the OS and small portions of the applet continues to work (with Sirius player, you can see what songs are playing on all the channels, and those song titles update even after the apparent hang) but most of it doesn't; audio stops, buttons stop working and any attempt to use the applet, like clicking a button, causes Safari to beachball. Flash never recovers and will stay at 100% core utilization unti force quit (I let it sit for an hour just to see if it would ever finish doing whatever it was doing).
I have tried clearing caches, uninstalling and reinstalling, etc.  The problem didn't exist before yesterday the 14th.  I also tried the build along with Chrome and it hangs too.  I uninstalled 202 and went back to 169 and the problem is gone.  Any idea as to what in 202 broke?
OS X 10.8.3
Safari 6.0.4
Flash build 11.7.700.202 May 14 hangs
Flash build 11.7.700.169 works

I'll rephrase my report.  It's regarding Adobe Flash in Chrome when using the SiriusSM player.  The player launches as a separate window in Chrome while the original browser continues to run, using minimal resources (%CPU). I'm not familiar with clearing caches and haven't uninstalled Chrome or Adobe Flash.  I did open IE and went to a website (cnn.com) but the CPU processes graph in Control Panel didn't rise.  I then closed it and opened a second tab in Chrome and went to YouTube.  The CPU and Memory utilization rose past 40% CPU and about 110 MB memory (It's a small SSD notebook).  The SiriusXM player froze and there appeared a popup that Shockwave Flash had crashed.  There's more.  I closed the YouTube tab and the CPU and Memory didn't change.  Under Processes, Adobe Flash only used about 2% memory.  I ended that process and usage still was high.  Then I ended 2 of the 4 highest usage Chrome processes, leaving the Sirius Player window open and CPU usage dropped but Memory usage remained at about 43%, most of which was from Windows Host Services (39.4 mB).  I'll try to replicate this test using a fairly graphics intensive Chrome site such as YouTube and then launching the SiriusXm player, then closing them down one at a time to see how resources are lost.

  • Problem with the Flash Player 1,7,700,202 and monitor stand-by

    Hi
I have installed Flash Player 1,7,700,202 on Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit with Internet Explorer 10.x and I have a problem on each account:
When I play back a video or I see a Flash animation on a Web page, the monitor does not go more into stand-by during their visualization. How come?
    Thanks
    Bye

Are you looking to have your monitor go into standby while video is playing?  I suspect you might get a better response on Microsoft's forums.

  • Adobe Flash player black bands prior to 11.7.700.202 and again in 11.7.700.224

I was having issues at my campus when I scroll content.  The browser alternately covers the text, pictures, and buttons with black bars a few lines too early as I scroll.  The bars are random as to doing this, as sometimes it is black bars followed by a normal row and then more black bars.  They run across the frame (one line at a time). Sometimes it fills the whole frame.  I fix the problem by scrolling the content off the screen, and repeat the cycle as needed when the random bars hide content from the top down--a few rows too early--as if to represent them scrolling off the screen.
Version 11.7.700.202 fixed this.  The problem must have started in the version just before 11.7.700.202.
However, A few weeks later I let the 11.7.700.224 update install, and it created the problem all over again.
I admit I did not attempt clearing the cache when this started happening.  However, it had only been about a day, with limited usage, so this is unlikely the cause unless the cache remains the same between updates.
I uninstalled Adobe Flash player 11.7.700.224, rebooted, and then removed the latest version info from the registry (since it complained about using an older version, and forced me to exit).  However, this did not work, so I ran the uninstall that came with 11.7.700.202.
I then installed the appropriate 11.7.700.202 installation executable and 11.7.700.202 ax (or activex) installation from the developer archives, and now the problem is fixed again.
There were issues with some video content with 11.7.700.224 as well, but going back to 11.7.700.202 fixed this too.

The first thing I'd try is updating your video driver.
Windows: how do I update the device driver for my video/display adapter?
If you still have problems and you're using Windows 7 x64, please check to see if you have the following Windows update installed:
    KB2670838 – Platform Update for Windows 7 x64
If so, please uninstall it and try Flash Player out again.

  • Fash Player Plug-in 11.7.700.202 download will not complete.

When I updated to Firefox 21.0, I found that Flash Player Plug-in 11.7.700.202 was not working. Videos would not play. Had no problem before the Firefox upgrade. I downloaded a new copy of the player but the download would not complete. A error message (only a single instance of this application can run) appeared. I used Adobe Flash Player's uninstall to delete all Flash files. Then I tried downloading Flash 11.7.700.202 again. Same error message appeared and would not finish the download. Chrome videos work with no problem. Is there a hidden Flash file somewhere that's conflicting? Is this a Mozilla bug? I looked at all the support topics and didn't find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It seems you mean "installing" instead of "downloading". Downloading means saving a file from a web page to your computer. Installing means launching the setup file and completing the steps described on-screen. If downloading fails, then there's no point in trying to install the application, because the setup file is unusable.
That particular error message means you have two Flash Player installers running simultaneously. According to the Adobe knowledgebase, simply clicking the OK button closes one of them and allows the installation to continue.

  • Webcast problems with Flash Player 11.7.700.169 and IE9

I recently started to have problems viewing slides during webcasts from TalkPoint/Lightwave.  I have Windows 7 64-bit and IE9 (both 32-bit and 64-bit).  When the webcas starts, the audio is fine, but the slides are not shown.  If I remove Flash Player, I can see the slides.  With Flash Player installed, I can view the webcast fine in Chrome and Firefox, but not IE9.  Looks like another incompatiblity between Flash Player and IE9.  Does anyone have a solution/workaround or should I try to download an earlier version of Flash Player.  Perhpas IE10 is a fix.

I'm having the same issue; non-HTML5 videos won't play. Specifically they start for a couple seconds and then freeze. I'm running Windows XP and Firefox.. I tried de-selecting hardware acceleration, increased the local storage, and I don't know what else to do. XP, Firefox, and Flash are all the latest versions.
This has only been for the last 2-3 weeks, and the only things that have changed are updated Flash, updated Firefox, and supervisor installed Norton while I was on vacation.
    Please, any suggestions?
ETA: And just like that, it's working! I think that I probably should have restarted the computer after changing my settings yesterday. Or not; still confused but relieved.

  • TinyChat audio issues with Flash Player 11.2.202.228

I recently installed the debug version 11.2.202.228 of Flash Player.  After the installation, I noticed that the audio for TinyChat.com no longer worked well.  It would continually cut in and out.  I tried clearing cache, cookies, and Flash shared data to no avail.  I restarted my router but that did not help either.  I downgraded to debug version 11.1.102.55 and the audio now works perfectly.  Any ideas why this is happening?
I run Firefox 11.0 on Windows XP SP3.

    http://googlechromereleases.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/flash-player-update.html
Flash update for Chrome has had poor performance on youtube videos. Some videos you hear the start of the sound and see and picture, start buffering and then starts playing again.  Very annoying.  Never used to do this, and sdoesn;t do this on internet explorer.
It hangs randomly during Youtube videos. Sometimes they don't even start. Changing the resolution (480p, 720p, etc) sometimes kicks it into gear, but not often. Refreshing the page doesn't help much either.
I have to download them with DownloadHelper and they download at 1mbps.

We found the problem and it is on our side, not a problem with the flash upgrade. I'll write what happened here in case it can help anyone else.
On Sunday night, two days after this post, one of our FMSs stopped accepting RTMFP publishes. When we examined the box we found that it was reporting that it had reached its max licensed RTMFP connections. We know there weren't that number of connections on there and suspect that connections leaked. After restarting the box, the FMS resumed accepting RTMFP publishes. This failure has never happened to us before so we're treating it as a one-off and not investigating.
Since the restart of that FMS, reports of subscribe failures have disappeared. That's great and we're presuming the restart fixed the subscribe failures. The strange thing is that users were reporting subscribe failures several days before we observed any publish failures. That said, we know this FMS was in a strange state so we concluded our investigation.
Thanks to Chris for the quick response on this.

  • Flash 11.7.700.202 - reports of unable to see video

We run a social video site and have had many reports of users unable to see video in the last few days. Our code has not changed and we believe this is due to the 11.7.700.202 release as these problems were not previously reported.
    Symptoms:
User is subscribing via rtmfp to a live stream on an Adobe FMS. When this happens, we don't know if they fail to connect or the connect succeeds and they don't see video. We use an inhouse flash app. The feed is available on the FMS since other users are successfully subscribing to the same feed.
This happens to a small percent of users but that leads to many reports across our user base.
Refreshing the page, which reinstantiates the flash app, removes the problem.
Is anyone else seeing problems with viewing video from the newly updated flash player?
    Thank you,
    Robert

  • Errors on my web site started with Flash Player Release a few days ago (Mar 28, 2012)

    Hi,
I have a Flash based video player on my website.  This was designed and implemented based on an article vy Lisa Larson-Kelley.  It has run flawlessly for several years.  But, when I installed the lastest release of Flash Player a fedw days ago (Mar 28, 2012), I am now getting really annoying issues with the Flash Video Player.
I expect that I will need to place insturctions for users on how to roll back their version of Flash Player, since this latest version is broken.
But, many of the people who visit my site are not tech oriented (they are mostly friends and family, so, I don't expect that they will really roll back their version of Flash player.
I am 100% certain the issue is the latest version of Flash, since these errors never occurred until I installed the latest version.
On my work laptop, I have an older version of Flas (10.x.x) and this probelm does not happen.  On my desktop PC at home, I have an older version of Flash 11 installed, and this problem does not happen (in IE9).  The version of Flash PLayer 11 where the issue does *not* occur is 11.1.102.63.
On that same desktop PC, if I use Chrome, (which automatically defaults to the latest version of Flash which is 11.2.202.228, I get the problems.  So, there is no question that the issue is with the latest version of Flash and not my hardware or drivers.  I get the same problems on three different computers.
My website has a username and password.  If someone from Adobe wants to replicate the problem send me an e-mail and I will send you the username and password.
The videoplayer on my website is at this url:  http://www.jjjhi.com/TryMakingFlashVidPlayer/VideoPlaylist.html (but, you will need the username and password).
The issue is that sometimes (not always) when you select a video to play, inistead of the video loading into the panel as it should (sized as 1025 x 578), instead, all you see is the control skin.  The video begins to play, but all you get is the audio.  It looks like this:
You can recover from this error by using the skin control to make the image full screen, but, the video looks poor at fulls screen, because it is created at 1024 x 578.  You can then get the correct size by returning from full screen, but, I don't want the pepole who visit my cif\deo playet to have to go all through that.  Especially since most won't even know enough to try making the video full screen.
This doesn't happen for every video on my web site, but, once it *does* happen once...it will happen for every video selection you make.
This is unacceptable, and it absolutely a function of Flash version 11.2.202.228.
Adobe:  Please fix this bug as soon as possible.
I've implemented an HTML5 based video player and have begun populating it with mp4 versions of my video clips, but, quite honestly, the playback using HTML5 is much worse than with Flash.  I encoded the clips in the HTML5 player with the same Variable Bit Rates as in the F4V clips, and, in the HTML5 player, there are missed frames, and the audio can get out of sync.  So, I *want* to keep using my Flash Based video player, but...if Adobe doesn;t fix this, I will just dial down my VBR till I find one that is slow enough to play in HTML5 and ditch Flash.
My HTML5 video player is here:
    http://www.jjjhi.com/TryMakingNewVideoPlayer/NewVidPlayer_option1_jth.html
(again you need the username and password to use it, send me an e-mail and I will give them to you, I just don't want to post them in an open forum).
Here is a bitmap of the page:  It is quite snazzy looking and is based on an excellent class from Chris Converse at Lynda.com.  But, even though it is 'snazzy looking' the HTML5 player performs poorly on an under-powered machine (like my work laptop).  It uses 100% CPU and misses frames and the audio loses sync.  The same videos encoded with the same VBR for Flash (F4V) play great, *except for the new issue described above!!!!)
I Adobe can fix this issue with Flash Player 11.2.202.228  ASAP, else, I will  have to 'downgrade' to an HTML5 based video player, that, quite honestly does not perform as well as Flash.
If you want to reproduce the problem contact me at my e-mail address: [email protected] and I'll send you the username and password.
You can then prove that the problem does not exist with prior version of Flash player (before 11.2.202.228) but *does* exist with this latest buggy release.
    Thanks,
    John

    Thanks.
I sent the username and PW to you and Chris.
    Cheers,
    John
