[11.8.800.168] Entire Control turns into Button Click

Since the 11.8.800.168 update the file upload control we use (demo here: http://www.plupload.com/example_jquery_ui.php) turns the entire control clickable in IE 8. Anywhere you click opens a dialog box to select a file. Clearing cache fixes the issue until the next time the page is hit or refreshed. This has appeared on multiple systems using both Win7 and WinXP.
Rolling back the update seems to fix the issue. Any idea what caused this? How can we give the user a better solution to the problem?

Could you please open a new bug report on this over at https://bugbase.adobe.com? For what it's worth, I gave this a try with XP and IE 8 but couldn't reproduce the problem. I was only able to get the dialog to appear when clicking the "Add File" button.
Once added, please post back with the URL and I'll have the team give it a more comprehensive look.

Animation that turns into buttons

I have never really used Flash before but my boss got me one
of those dummy books so that I could create a animation for our
companies main page. What he is looking to do is have a line
drawing (like a "blue print") turn into the letters SDP then
SORN'S. Then when Sorns would be present you would be able to click
on the s o r n and s to take you to different parts of the website
with a little text popping up as you rooled over the letters to
descibe where you would go.
First of all before I start attemting this is this possible?
Second off could I teach myself how to do it in a couple of
days?
and third any suggestions on an easy way to do this?

If you mean you are using Camera app and want to take video - then at the bottom right of the camera screen swipe it from the camera icon to the video icon

Turn Off button click audio

I am using next/back buttons. That is fine, I just would not
like the clicking audio when the user clicks on the button. I am
not using any audio. Is there an option that I am missing somewhere
to turn off the clicking of the button? I am using version
1.01.1418. I saw another post where the poster said he/she found
the option. I have looked everywhere and my boss desparately wants
me to get rid of the clicking.

When I forward mail with attachments, all signatures turn into attachments

When I forward an email that contains a signature from the sender, and I add an attachment, the entire signature turns into an attachment when the recipient is using Outlook .
Is there a way around this?
I have tried Plain and Rich text settings, as well as all of the attachment settings.
Attachment Tamer isn't working since I upgraded to Yosemite.

I have a VI with a while loop controlled by "stop" button. How can I finish the running of this VI in a another VI programmablly.

1... Change your slave VI to stop on the button OR a global boolean variable.
2... When your slave VI does stop, set the global variable to FALSE (ready for next time).
3... Set the global to TRUE from the master controlling VI, on button click, or whatever is supposed to stop the slave.

How could i Integrate (merge) 2 different Controlling areas into one?

Hello gurus,
The client i am working for had defined, from the beggining (during SAP Implementation), one Controlling area for the entire company.
This definition was correctly done, as a way to centralize every operation and transaccion made.
After some years, this company merge with another one, that had the same implemented controlling model, but asociated to another Controlling area.
The problem is that we need to integrate both Controlling areas into one, in other words, every operation saved or transaction made linked to the new Controlling area (the one of the second company), must be converted to the code of the original one.
Is there an std. way to erase the second Controlling area and asociate all its records (saved in every table) to the orignal one, as if they were one from the very beggining?

Is it possible to capture an entire DV tape into a single .avi

I am capturing DV tapes and even if I uncheck the "split scenes" option in the capture window, PE7 still splits the scenes into many .avi files.
Is it possible to capture an entire DV tape into a single file?

You installed the "DownLite" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.vsearch.agent.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
          Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "VSearch" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.

This failure of oversight is inexcusable and has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.

ID CS3 : the 101 buttons bug - PDF file turning into a form

Hi there,
I'm just mentionning this issue with a clear title (I had mentioned it in another thread but with a wrong topic name, since I hadn't found out the bug).
When working in inDesign CS3, there's a slight but annoying issue with interactive PDF buttons. As soon as your file reaches 101 buttons, the PDF document exported is considered as a form instead of a standard document (no matter if the buttons are present on the master pages, on the same pages or through the document).
I've managed to find a workaround myself, and I found another one on these forums, but no real solution. Here they are:
Workaround #1 (http://http://forums.adobe.com/message/2177707#2177707) :
Instead of creating my controls in the master page (which caused the file to have more than 100 buttons), I created them (only once) in the first page they appeared in. Then, in Acrobat Pro, I just selected them and used the "duplicate" command.
There are two benefits when using this solution:
your PDF document won't turn into a form (which can be a real problem if you don't want to confuse the document users).
your PDF file will be lighter. Indeed, when creating a button in inDesign (even if you create it on the master page) the exported PDF document won't contain X occurences of the same button, but X different buttons (which can incread the size of your document dramaticaly when it reaches a large amount of pages).
Yet, if your document reaches 101 buttons on the solemn content, the bug will trigger anyway.
Workaround #2 (http://http://forums.adobe.com/message/1322652#1322652) :
After having exported your PDF file, lock it against editing (through the password protection system). Your document will still be considered as a form, but the annoying purple box won't pop any longer when you open the file.
This solution is quite simpler, but it still is a workaround to the issue, not a solution.
Well, I hope those workarounds will help someone, but if someone had a *real* solution to it, that would be great.

Psd turn into JPEG prewiews after save for web. Help!

save for web>save>save optimised as>save>close. That gives me a jpeg (the previous was a psd), but in the form of a preview thumbnail, top right corner bent, loupe and "JPEG" on it. I did about 20 psd just fine,ending in the folder as jpg images, keeping their previous names and the new "jpeg" underneath. What happened?
Not less odd, as I was shrinking the folder window, (bring in the bottom right corner, but this is probably not related), all the previous ones (the jpeg images) turned into preview icons, too. By moving the cover flow, they turned back into images, and by moving them again, they turned back into jpeg
icons, this time, not with the loupe and the photos, but with 3 geometrical shapes on them. If I bring them back into Ps CS3 and save for web again, and then close, I get a "save changes to the jpeg document?" question,>save, which gives me a regular save as window, and they stay images, and I could end the problem like that, but that might cancel the previous save for web. Help! goodnight now.

I guess I have been sending all along (my almost 2 years of photoshop) inflated pictures of images (which however I take the care of reducing to 1000
pixels from the original 4000 something that they originally are). What's odd for you guys, and normal for me, is that the computer went back to turning
out "normal" .jpg images, in small characters, like it has been doing all along, as if it went on a freaky spree yesterday, and I will probably go along with it, just because i don't know how to provoke deliberatly the JPEG with the loupes which appeared breafly yesterday, and that I am supposed to expect.
I don't have any third party add on (do you mean plug in?) Only GF, sitting there, unused for a year.
Of course now i am intrigued: Marion: what do you mean by :"this may be affected by normal Finder settings" ? Any settings that i can control to get those JPEG with loupes that I should expect all the time?

Get rid of text-select-turning-into-cursor-on-second-click

I'm currently trying to select only some of many separate text pieces, and I can't do it because the select arrow is constantly turning into a cursor. (I finally had to lock all the other layers and do several click-and-drags around the page to get the right pieces.) Don't know why they ever did this--when I work in Illustrator, I need the text cursor much less often than I need to move text objects around the page.
Someone said on this forum that it used to be you would hit "tab" to get the cursor--I see no problem with going back to that.
If anyone knows how I can get better control over the select arrow, then please let me know.

is more accurate and reliable. I can double-click on a text item to edit it, but when I use the Type tool I often end up clicking on nearby paths, converting them to text objects. A one-step action becomes a multi-step action. Point Nini.
However I agree, too, that there often seems to be a hair trigger on the double-click. An option in the preferences to enable the feature would probably satisfy most users. Where by "most" I mean "all".

How my Ubuntu/Firefox 3.6.16 turned into Microsoft I.E. with a Virus Warning.

When I was 'Surfing' the Internet, looking for some "Train" Photo Wallpapers, when I clicked on a Photo to view, my Firefox 3.6.16 browser turned into a "Fake" I.E. Browser Page with a Windows "Defender" warning box in the center stating that my system was invaded with a Virus and that I had to click in the "Fix Problem Box" to remove the virus.
Being in Ubuntu/Firefox, nothing I clicked on had any effect.
I pulled my power and rebooted and I was back up and running!
I then installed a anti-virus program which could not find ant problem or Malware.
I am now attempting to find this "Bad" Photo File/Link.

Icons turn into folders

I've got a Powermac G4 500mhz. I found a cool PM G4 Icon I wanted to used in place of the regular HD icon. I downloaded it on my MacBook and transfered it over to the PM with a jump drive. Problem is when I open up the jump drive the icon images turn into generic blue folders. Also all of my sidebar icons (pictures, music, movies etc.) show the blue folder as well instead of images of a camera and so fourth. Any ideas on whats causing this?

Finder at one time was predictable and easy to use. Now it is fickle and a general pain. Here's a cheap shareware product that will give you back some control on icons.

How to advoid Pdf attached files turning into winmail.dat file causing incovinience opening them? And why does the phone automatically changes the file???

The first time i opened the mail, the mail loaded the attactment as pdf file and i was able to open it without any problems. But then when i tried to open it again, i watched the phone automatically turned the pdf file into winmail.dat without any of my control. Since then, i werent able to open the file anymore! And this was lucky that i was able to see it as pdf file - all other attachments i have recieved since using my new ip6 all turn into winmail.dat
this is really incovinient and frustrating for work. i cant believe i cannot just open a pdf file as a pdf file on my ip6 in the emails i recieve. I was on ip4 before this and never have anything like this happened.
Solution needed asap please.
