11' Air w/ Mainstage 3, good or no?

I'm thinking of getting an 11' Air - 128g, i7, 8g of ram to run my live set up. Any one have experience with this or see any red flags with my plan? Live it will run bass processing, two or three loopbacks, playbacks, and Ultrabeat for anything I wasnt able to bounce for playback ahead of time. I dont have any large sample libraries. I use a mackie blackjay taking and sending audio in my bass amps effect loop for on USB and the other slot would go to my FCB 1010.
I screen realestate will not be great but I can deal with that. I going to build the computer into an "pedal board" so I'm trying to go as small as I can. Right now I run the set up on an early 2008 macbook 2.4 core 2 duo with 4 gig of ram. Getting the my bass latency to where Im comfortable is giving me no CPU headroom.
Any and all thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

I just downloaded and installed MainStage 3, hoping to get Jam Packs for my GB'11
and clicked 'Download Additional Content'.......then nothing appears on the box. Any help please?
Did you click the "Download additional Content" in MainStage?
You should be seeing a panel like this in MainStage:
If you don't reinstall MainStage.

Can an entry level MacBook Air run Mainstage 3?

I'm looking to get an 11 inch MacBook Air (i5, 4gb ram, 128gb ssd). My budget is less than $1,000. The less the better. I don't run any fancy plugins...I just use the patches that come with MainStage.
Does anyone else use an entry level MacBook Air to run Mainstage 3? How are your results? I know in theory I should get 8gb ram and i7, but I'm more interested in someone who has actually tried it. Thank you!

i've been running MainStage 3.0.4 on a late 2010 macbook air 13" core2 duo with 2GB ram with no problem UNTIL i made the poor decision to "upgrade" from mavericks to yosemite. now it is a train wreck.
i use(d) it only for processing guitar. typically i would use a stereo reverb, a stereo delay, an amp model, an output level boost, and a gain boost for a typical patch. my macbook air always handled this easily. with an I5 and 4GB you should be in good shape.
i shouldn't complain. nobody ever said MainStage was compatible with yosemite. after the fact i saw on roaringapps.com that they are not listed as compatible.

Cant use wifi on my ipad air, the connection is good on my laptop.

the wifi is connected but cannot load on any apps that require internet. currently using the ipad on the laptop and the connection is pretty fast.

Try this:
1. Turn router off for 30 seconds and on again
2. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
3. Reset iPad; hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo

Without more specifics, it's hard to tell what is causing your CPU overload. If you're having the problem with just a few channel strips in a patch using only Mainstage instruments and EXS samples, try opening preferences>audio>advanced settings. Turn on the I/O safety buffer. Increase the I/O buffer size if necessary. You may be able to balance performance and latency. Multiple instances of the Space Designer plugin and ES2 synth tax the CPU. If you're using a lot of these in one patch, try eliminating a few.
I would choose a MacBook Pro over a MacBook Air for Mainstage because it generally has a faster processor. The newer MacBook Pros are available with quad-core processors. If you want to upgrade to Mainstage 3 at some point, faster is definitely better.

Just got a MacBook Air and because this is the question I was myself interested about too (and didn't got answers clear enough), then I thought that I should give answer here.
Yes, it works.
I have a MacBook Air Mid 2011, 1.6 GHz and 2 GB of RAM and 64 GB of flash memory. In last trains we used MacBook Air with Mainstage and without any glitches.
Of course Your Mileage May Vary depending on what you use in MainStage, but we used
- Backing track
- Guitar effects
- Vocal effects
- Input monitoring for keyboards
I plugged Zoom R24 to MBA and plugged guitar and synth and mic to it. Synths played what can be heard from synth directly so there is audio track for keyboard what just goes through the MainStage (we have only monitors which are plugged in audio interface, eg. no different amplifiers for guitars, synths etc).
Guitar effects was taken from MainStage and also Vocal effects. I used default presets (American Metal and Female lead vocals or something) and no problem at all.
Also in one song there was Amp Designer track on whole output track and no problems.
So MBA Mid 2011 seems to be fast enough (at least for my usage) to play Mainstage without any problems. Note: you will hear a fan of MBA in playing session (after half hour or something when MainStage was on) but it is not a problem for me at least when we play louder than that Air fan anyway :-)

Does the adobe cc run good on the macbook air?

Requirements for Adobe CC for Macinntosh > Adobe Photoshop CC for Mac, Windows, PC - Tech specs
Either the new 11" or 13" MBAir would work for you but if you can, the more RAM you have installed, the more stable your Mac will run.

For working with graphics, if it were me, I'd buy the 13" air. The more display area the better.

My ipad air keeps restarting and closing apps plus it wont connect to itunes when i want to do a full restore

i have just bought a ipad air 2 weeks ago from a tmobile store and the day i got it, it started turning off which i though was normal since it was the first day and my second device so i had it the first week went by and it continued to happen after that it got more serious and i got made i took it back to tmobile they said to take it to apple and i did inboca raton the people there are nice but what ever they did only stoped it from happening for a while i came back the same week a day later saying i contined to happen and they said did u delete the apps and i told the person i had no apps on thier he/she was supprised and said if he could run a web search and a dianositcs report i said sure he didnt find anything wrong but it turning off on the apps i also know that the device (ipad air) should have a good amount of memmory and that the main reason it turns off is because it has a 64 bit prossessor with a 1GB Ram so i turns off but their is a way to make it work fluentlly without turning off you have to connect it to iyunes on a PC or MAC and restore your device so that it repairs itself after that u have to manually redownlaod all the apps again and not use icloud to back up when u are done redownlaoding then u have to backup and then hopefully it will work fine but i cant connect to itunes so i later retuned that same day trying that and told him/her that it didnt work and the idea that i tried and he/she said that he can replace it if i brought the box so i said no i didnt bring it please fin a solution so i can connect to itunes its only 2 weeks old and i dont want a new one so fast

When my phone crashed for the first time I noticed that the ios update 6 was on my phone and i updated it at that moment... it still continues to not work... i now have a grey screen saying activation request could not be completed. if problem persists contact customer care. I cannot get to the home screen or any of my settings. I have been trying to contact but i think i was to late and to early this morning to reach anyone.
When i connect my ipnone to itunes there is no music, no apps, no photos, no updates or any thing that I can see..... it says that softwware version 5.1... does that mean that my phone did not update ios 6?
I can't get to any options or different screens on my phone either, just the grey screen i spoke about before.....
you spoke of downloading from apple directly does that mean on my iphone or my computer?

Should I buy a MacBook Air now?

I am in the market for a new machine. I want to get a MacBook Air, but considering the fact they are due for a refresh, is now a good time to buy one? If the refresh is simple internal upgrades, then I don´t mind. If it is major overhauls like significantly improved battery, or better physical design, I might not be so pleased, as this is a very long term investment. What would you guys do? Is the current Macbook Air, good enough to stand its own on whatever might replace it?

If you need a MacBook Air now, buy it now. If you want to wait because you are afraid of a new generation, do it at your own risk, because it may or may not be launched soon. Nobody knows that.
The actual MacBook Air is a very good computer for home tasks, fast, thin and light. Of course, if you want a computer for professional use with applications like Final Cut Pro, Photoshop..., don't buy the MacBook Air because it's not good enough. Instead, I recommend the 15-inch MacBook Pro

Which Cisco Access Point is Waterprof ? (outdoor:BR1300 + AIR-ANT24120)

i have to choose for a customer some 50 Access points but that must have an external antennas with at least 8 dbi as gain and to be waterprof
for me the BR1300 + AIR-ANT24120 is a good choice if the BR1300 is Waterproof (For me :normaly all Cisco Access Point Outdoor must be WaterProof : but i want to have a confirmation with a document if possible )
and it's interessant to knew ,which Cisco Access Point is Waterproof ?

the 1310 is going to be waterproof, as is the 15xx product line, (152x and 155x). All this can be found in the data sheet for the AP.
That being said, you can also put any of the external AP into a NEMA enclosure, and have it be waterproofed, so long as the enclosure is rated as such.

Resume from sleep speed - 2011 Air

2011 Mac Air Core i7 - 256 gig HDD - LION
When i close lid for air to sleep, then i re-open it takes about 3-4 seconds.
At first I see a black screen and my cursor, a about 3 seconds then the desktop.
What is your speed - I have a friend with a 2010 Mac Air and it resumes instantly!!
PS My startup disk wasnt selected, i did this and it made no difference.

Good find! I think you're absolutely right.
I just opened my Air after not using it for a couple of days and noticed the slow wake from sleep often and thought by myself "I thought this thing is supposed to wake quickly because of the SSD?".
I use my 2011 Air mostly as a 2nd machine and so it's often been sleeping for a couple of hours.
The difference between waking the Air a couple of minutes after sleeping it and when it's been lying around for a couple of hours are night-and-day and the support article explains why this is the case.

Need good Hard drive for 4:4:4 HD....recommendations?

Hey guys, we are going to start capturing straight from our camera into a new quad core. So we are goin top notch for this operation. We need a fast enough hard drive to capture full 4:4:4 HD footage. We don't need anymore than a Terabyte for now. Any recommendations. Im guessing SCSI hook up is the best for this, correct? Thanks in advance.

Uncompressed HD 4:4:4 isn't a "light" codec. It is one of the most demanding codecs you could be using. $6000 is actually cheap...and doesn't get you much storage. You might have to look at $12k to $15k to get decent enough space. And you need enough to get you AT LEAST 400MB/s...so an 8 drive to 20 RAID.
Plus the Controller Card costs another $2k.
Uncompressed HD isn't cheap...not by any stretch of the imagination. 4:4:4 is demanding and will require a lot of high cost equipment.
Also its going to be a portable system, to capture on set.
What are you doing? Shooting with what cameras? Capturing with what? These drives are not the most portable...but you can do it. But they are also VERY LOUD and require a lot of cooling, so they may need to be off the set in a very well air conditioned room. Good news about Fibre, you can be a mile away and still get great transfer rates.

If I understand correctly, perhaps the air file extension is improperly mapped on your pc.
In Windows Explorer perform the following:
Tools --> Folder Options --> File Types
Look for the AIR extension (see screenshot).
Click advanced (see screenshot)
Click "Edit"
In the field labeled "Application used to perform action" mine has c:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\ADOBEA~1\Versions\1.0\ADOBEA~1.EXE "%1"
Yours should be similar. If you want to browse for the program, it's typically located in program files\common files\Adobe AIR\versions\1.0\Adobe AIR Application Installer.exe

Stage.quality property on FLEX and AIR

There are 2 source codes to resize bitmap data, one for AIR, one for FLEX.
The codes are same without .mxml head statement that is
<mx:WindowedApplication> or <mx:Application>.
The code are:
1. create TextField object and set "XYZ" into it with font-size:48px,bold.
2. create 2 BitmaData objects, one for initial drawing, one for resized result.
3. set stage.quality to "BEST". <-- this is current topic!
4. draw bitmap data with TextField.
5. resize above bitmap data to 1/3.
6. create Bitmap object from resized bitmap data.
7. display the bitmap on canvas.
By executing them,
FLEX environment makes the expected result that is good anti-aliased.
But AIR environment makes no good result.
then, I tried some patterns of stage.quality on FLEX and
I found the AIR result is equal to stage.quality="HIGH" on FLEX.
it seems the stage.quality "BEST" of AIR doesn't work?

Air 15 known issues - wrong screen size and dpi

Will the next update of Air 15 solve the issues below..
the dpi problem with iPhone 6 plus is a show stopper, i cant get away with delivering a reduced dpi
... under pressure to update 20+ applications ...

Well done to the Air team for the good work done so far, not easy keeping up with Apple on IOS8 at the moment...

I am having simliar issue where I can get the iphone 6 launch image to work but not the iphone 6+ when using [email protected], 2208x1242. Also the stage.fullScreenWidth/Height give 1472x828, which is 2/3 the expected dimensions or 736x414 at scale factor 2, not 3. I hope adobe fixes this soon or we won't be able to launch new games with Apple as it is a requirement to have your apps Iphone 6/6+ optimized. If this isn't fixed soon were pretty much forced to abandon adobe and move onto another software solution that will allow us to build for Apple.
