1142 APs LEDs not working in normal operation

Hi guys,
just installed 6 new APs to a client remote site off a 5508 controller. 5508 is running 7.0.116
total of 78 installed APs, mostly 1142's with a dozen or so 1242s
All going perfectly until I was about to leave site and noticed two of the APs had no LEDs lit.
Checked in the controller, as I had renamed them so knew they were on the system, and they are both there. Connected to each of them and was successful and everything seemed ok - no blue LED though. Rebooted them and the LEDs work as expected during the boot process but as soon as they have entered normal operation the LEDs go dark.

Change process is galacial and heavily monitored so dont want to invoke it if it wont address the concern...

So, the APs are getting a disable command from the controller at boot?
I just cant see why these two in particular should exhibit behaviour different to the others deployed, and it must be something to do with their interaction with the controller as the LEDs work correctly until after they become operational...
I am trying to understand what makes these two so special? Boss has said that they should be RMA'd as faulty without an adequate explanation for the peculiar behaviour...

  • Fingerprint utility is not working for normal users - Tecra M11

    Hi All,
    I installed windows 7 pro in Tecra M11 laptop and the Toshiba finger print utility is not working for normal users.
    It is working only for domain administrators. The TFPU is not working for, normal domain users, local users, local administrators. If we run the utility it will ask to enter the windows password and once we applied the password then the message saying "entered password is not valid" will prompt even if we are trying to use the utility first time.
    If we try with a domain admin account it will work without any problem. Can somebody help me to trouble shoot this issue?

    People nowadays experienced that no matter How many times we glide our finger it have no response.In this instance, you might be very afraid of Windows password lost by reason that there is a plenty of important data on your PC.
    Then what should you do? One choose is fix the Fingerprint scanners, but this method will cost a lot of money. The other is use the Windows password function to solve the problem. Certainly, this is a very safer, faster and easier to use method for you.
    According my personal experience, you can try these three ways to re-access to your PC:
    Method 1: Login with the default administrator account
    * Step 1: Start Windows PC
    * Step 2: When you can see the Windows login screen, press ctrl+alt+del keys Twice and it'll show Classic Login box
    * Step 3: Type Administrator as Username and leave the password field blank
    * Step 4: Press the Enter Key and then you can be able to login the default windows administrator account which is it created by default when install windows.
    *Note:* This trick is only work for Windows XP. And when you input the key combination Please don't put the cursor on any account. And if you change the name or password before, you cannot login by this way.
    Method 2: Use the previous password reset disk
    This method describes how to create and use a password reset disk for a computer that is a member of a domain. You can use a Windows password reset disk to gain access to your Microsoft Windows Professional-based computer if you forget your Windows password. Please click here to learn more.
    Method 3: Using Windows Password Unlocker
    Using Windows password remove software is could be the fastest and easiest way for you to reset your Windows password while you didn't create a password reset disk before.
    There are 2 options for you: recover Windows password with a bootable CD/DVD or recover Windows password with a USB flash drive.
    Before starting, a bootable CD/DVD or USB flash drive and a computer with CD drive are required. (Internal CD drive and external CD drive are both OK.
    Option 1: Recover Windows password by burning a bootable CD/DVD
    Option 2: Recover Windows password by burning a USB flash drive
    The whole Windows password recovery process can be divided to 3 big steps:
    * >> Step 1: Burn a USB flash drive to remove lost Windows password
    * >> Step 2: Set your target computer to boot from USB
    * >> Step 3: Recover forgotten Windows password with the burned USB flash drive
    In fact, all you need is a *Windows Password Unlocker www.passwordunlocker.com/windows-password-recovery.html which can help you directly reset your windows xp password, and then you can login your XP without a password required. Of course, there are also some other ways to do it, but this way may be most convenient one.

    i'm here for a segnalation, i have this hp and after update audio driver (suggested by hp update software) mute led stop working, the button work and mute the audio but led not work (f6 button led).
    Affected driver problem is "realtek high definition audio" version 6.0.1.7010, i opened hp recovery manager and restored driver 6.0.1.6856 after this, the led is back and working fine.
    Please, fix that problmem in the next update, for the moment i ignore request update for audio driver from hp support assistant.

    Today, I changed the fan in my Pavilion dv6-6001eh (the original stop working). After I assembly, the power led not working anymore. I check the cable, but that's ok. Otherwise the power button working. The second power led in the right side next to USB, also not working.
    Why? Maybe pressed hotkey?

    hi guys, well there is not much to say only that my hdd led not work, rarely i put attention on it, but just when i see... is gone... sniiiff.. i tryed change the led, invert cables, and the raid controller has nothing to do with this issue, sometime ago i have power issues, and during those times the led suddenly "wake up" , then i change the psu, and hdd, now i have sata hdd, and somebody told me the led not work with the 3· ide or sata, culd be the data cable

That's not what you said in your first post. IF IDE HDD works (even if HDD led doesn't work) then IDE cable should be OK. Perhaps HDD light case/mobo connection has a problem.

    Specific details; p/n: GS066PA#ABG,  4 GBytes DDR2 RAM, OS Windows 7 (6.1) Ultimate Edition 64-bit Service Pack 1 (Build 7601) DirectX 11.0.  LED's were working but during one of the windows automatic updates they stopped working.  I don't know which update.  Now I get little pop-ups "CAPS LOCK: ON" etc (black text on white background).  If I rename bttray.exe to bttray1.exe and restart the laptop, that kills the pop-ups in the bottom RH corner of the screen but it does not restore the operation of my blue indicator LED's.  Can anyone help please?

    I saw your post regarding the problems with the pop-ups and LED lights not working after a Windows Update. Most likely there was a problem with the update when it was installed. This Microsoft Support link will show you how to uninstall an update. Try uninstalling the most recent updates and the restart the notebook and see if the LEDs start working again.
    If that fixes the issue then there is another section in that link entitled: I remove an update but it gets automatically installed. That will show you how to hide an update.

  • Apple numeric keypad keyboard caps LED not working...

    Hi,
    I am using numeric keypad(wired one) with my iMac, suddenly, when i switched on the machine in evening and tried tap the CAPS key and it doesn't light up but the caps lock is working perfectly fine.
    I saw many posts regarding this on Apple discussions, but, none of them has worked for me.
    Sometimes, i use this keyboard with Windows 7 also it is not working for that too. I tried with many other PCs including Windows or Mac but, didn't worked.
    I discovered that Apple is providing protection against accidently CAPS lock with new manufactured keyboards, i bought my iMac 15 days back.
    My entire work in on Mac and on the application i used to work on, i need to enter the password at almost 4 locations and with out knowing that CAPS lock is on or off, really taking a lot of time.
    Can any body suggest that the problem is with the LED Bulb or what? or this a manufacturing fault? or i need to go for a new keyboard?
    Your comments are really appreciated in this regard.

    Hi, my first suspect would be a bad Keyboard.
    Open System Preferences>Keyboard>Modifier keys, is Caps Lock set to No Action?
    Open Keyboard Veiwer in Sys Prefs>International or Languages, do the letters switch to upper case when Caps Lock is pressed?

  • Satellite L750/05q - Wireless LED not working

    Have an L750/05q running Win 7 64bit.
    Wireless works fine but the Wifi led not lighting up when wireless activated, only the bluetooth indicator led comes on when Bluetooth on, Wifi on or both on.
    Updated from toshiba site to latest Toshiba listed Atherios driver - 9.2.0.316 (my model is not listed on their AU support site), but still no led. Wireless works fine.
    Also updated the LAN driver (Realtek) too,
    Am wondering if this is just a failure in hardware rather than the driver.

    Thanks Akuma and MisterX. On reading your replies I went back and read the manual more 'carefully'; I had interpreted wireless WAN as internet but it most likely refers to a GPS card function which is not installed in this model. Thanks for taking the time to reply and put my mind at ease.

  • HD led not working on K7N2-L ?

    Just got this board a week ago.
    instaloled evrything fine and installed xp with probs but one thing i noticed was the hd led would only light up when i first turn the comp on and also when readying from a cdrom but will not work when its only reading from the hd i have tried turning the connector round and putting it on that way but then it does not work al together is there a way to get it to work when it should ( when the hd is reading or writing).
    Or is there another conector that u can connect it to that i don't know about ?

    yep shure does if i put a cd in it lights up when registering ti and also when transfering files but wont light up when copying files from hd to hd or when windows is loading only time it lights up aoart from the cdrom thing is when i first boot the computer.
    seems weared to me, also while i'm typeoing this and when i'm doing anything apart from installing or copying files from a cdrom the hd light flashes once ever second.
    anyone got any ideas apart from the hd led being possesed:D lol
