11g DefaultAuthenticator not working

Hi, I have two authenticators setup in weblogic, one LDAP and the other the Default authenticator. LDAP users can log in correctly. If I create a new standalone user with the default authenticator though, they cannot log in (error: authentication denied). This is with reference to loggin into obi 11g. Presently, LDAP authenticator is set to sufficient. Default authenticator is set to Optional. In the ordered list, LDAP provider is first and the Default provider is second. The LDAP system user is also part of the global admin role. Is there something I am missing with regard to the Dafult provider

I previously work with oracle 10gXE and Oracle BI publisher 10g and it work fine. now i install oracle 11g XE and try to configure it with oracle Bi Publlisher, it show this error
"ORA-29273: HTTP request failed ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_HTTP", line 1324 ORA-12570: TNS:packet reader failure" after runing the ACL package to neable network service.
on the database.

You'll need to add the apex engine owner to the ACL (Access Control List). Depending on your version of apex the user name varies. i.e. 4.0 is APEX_040000

OBIEE 11g URL not working

hi every one,
I got a problem regarding my presentation services
they are upend running and all the opmnctl files are all alive but my url is not working

i waiting like 15min and tried the url dint work
i tried by updating the GUID in NQSconfig and Instances but dint work...
can anyone help me out with his..

that means the services are not running. yes that can cause this issue. make sure you enter the right credentials and check everything is up and running fine. i think your weblogic is not running(managed server,admin server) once they are up and running then you can access weblogic console and em and from em you can start the BI services.

Deploy PLSQL web services on weblogic for 11g-URI not working

Dear all,
Scenario:
Using JDeveloper I deployed a web service from a PLSQL package to a war file. After that I deployed that war file on a weblogic (10.3.5) server manually not by using JDeveloper.
The deployment of the admin on the admin server is successfully done. While testing the application on the server itself again successful.
Problem:
But having an issue while trying to do the same using the URL giving in the application server.
404 -Not Found error is coming up.
Solutions tried so far:
Tried putting a html file to the created application in order to get the job done- Did not work out
Please I have no idea how to proceed. Quick responses are much appreciated.

OBIEE 11g Ibots not working properly after Upgrade

We are currently upgrading our BI enviroment from 10g to 11g.
WHile we are configuring Ibots ,they really doesnt work, it gives the below error.
Eventually succeeded, but encountered and resolved errors...

[nQSError: 75006] Failed to send MAIL command. 5.7.1 Client does not have permissions to send as this sender AgentID: /shared/test12

Can any one give us the exact steps to configure ,or if im missing something....we have configured everything in the deployment of the Coreapplication in the business intelligence of the weblogic admin.

External Table Security with OBIEE 11G is not working properly.

Hello Everyone,
we just upgraded for OBIEE from 10G to 11G.
not what we had in 10G for object level and data level security is that we were using "External table" and LDAP Authentication.
Now for User we are capturing Groups in that table, so basically we have Group-level security.
so in that case we are creating Groups in External Table, RPD & Catalog.
Now we upgraded OBIEE to 11G, there we have totally different concept for security.
So here in what we have to do to implement the same concept. because we have created the Application Roles in Admin Console and Groups in Enterprise Manager with same name, and assigned same Groups to same Application Role.
now while applying security in frontend we can catalog groups options too!!! so do we have to create the same groups in catalog too?? and while applying the security to catalog which one do we need to use? "Application Role" OR "Catalog Groups"???

Changes to NQSCONFIG.INI in obiee 11g is not working???

I modified NQSCONFIG.INI in obiee 11g and restarted BI services but what ever changes I did are gone. how can I modify NQSCONFIG.INI OR INSTANCECONFIG.XML files?

A.1.1 How to Update Parameters in NQSConfig.INI
The following procedure explains how to update parameters in NQSConfig.INI.
To update parameters in NQSConfig.INI:
Open the NQSConfig.INI file in a text editor. You can find this file at:
ORACLE_INSTANCE/config/OracleBIServerComponent/coreapplication_obisn
Make a backup copy of the file before editing.
Locate and update the parameter you want to change.
Save and close the file.
Restart the Oracle BI Server. For more information, see Section 4.1, "About Starting and Stopping Oracle Business Intelligence."
If you have multiple Oracle BI Server instances, then repeat these steps in each NQSConfig.INI file for all Oracle BI Server instances.

Webutil 11g Demo not working

I have forms correctly configured on my server, as I can run most of the app, the only problem is forms which contain webutil.
I have followed the installation as per doc id [1093985.1]. Everything is in the correct place and signed, however, when I run the compiled wu_test_106 form, I get three popup boxes :
WUC-21 : System library
http://[myserver]/forms/frmservlet/webutil.dll has incorrect size in WebUtil config. Download will be cancelled.
I also get this for :
http://[myserver]/forms/frmservlet/webutil/jacob.dll
http://[myserver]/forms/frmservlet/webutil/JNIsharedstubs.dll
http://[myserver]/forms/frmservlet/webutil/d2kwut60.dll
I have changed the file sizes in the webutil.cfg to match, however, I feel the problem is that the file locations are wrong, as they are in:
http://[myserver]/forms/webutil/jacob.dll
http://[myserver]/forms/webutil/JNIsharedstubs.dll
http://[myserver]/forms/webutil/d2kwut60.dll
ie, no frmservlet
Is there any way to re-point these? This is from a standard install of weblogic, forms and webutil.

I don't think it's getting as far as the sizes as the virtual path does not resolve, however, the file size is definately correct.
The path points to : install.syslib.location=/webutil
It is the virtual path that precedes this I want to remove (frmservlet).
Just for clarity, I have changed this to /mynewpath/webutil and it is now looking for the files in:
http://[myserver]/forms/frmservlet/mynewpath/webutil/jacob.dll
My webutil.cfg is as follows (I've removed the comments), the only line I've changed is the one that lists the size of the file:

AirPort Express (802.11g) suddenly not working

Hi;
I've been using my AirPort Express unit for years now. For the last 6 months I've been using it to supply music to a set of speakers in my living room with no problem.
Suddenly today, I notice that for some reason, AirTunes can't see the Unit, nor can AirPort Admin Utility nor AirPort Setup Assistant.
The Unit has a solid green light on it, indicating it thinks it's working, but I can't seem to find it.
Any clues?

UPDATE: I reset the unit, and was able to configure it using AirPort Setup Assistant, but although the light is still solid green, iTunes and AirPort Admin still can't see it.

It is because you are using older version of java. verify java version (java -version) and try to update it 1.6

Parameter is not working in HTTP( XML FEED) dataset in bi publisher 11g

Hi,
I have used parameter in BI Publisher 10g for HTTP(XML Feed) dataset to have dynamic url which worked by using ${p_url} where p_url is the parameter.
The same procedure when I use in BI Publisher 11g is not working.It does not consider the parameter ${p_url} and throws the following exception
*oracle.xdo.dataengine.datasource.plugin.DataAccessException: java.lang.Exception: java.net.MalformedURLException: no protocol: ${p_url}*
Has anyone faced this issue?
Please let me know if am doing something incorrect here.

In BI Publisher 10 g we are using it this way ${p_url}.
p_url is the parameter which gives us the entire URL for the XML feed.
e.g. p_url=http://rss.news.yahoo.com/rss/topstories
The p_url takes the entire url.
Please let me know if this can be done the same way in 11g.

Sql developer not working which i got when i installed oracle 11g on win7

Hi i successfully instaled my oracle 11g on windows 7,but when iam trying to use my sql developer chich i got by default with 11g is not working ..when i open it its asking me for "select the path of java.exe file" when i browse and given the right path .iits again giving me the same pop and not throughing any error msg at least.
Could u pls help me out on this??

Well, not supported does not necessarly mean does not work, but if you have problem, then your only way is to find a solution on your own or through other fellows who are doing the same.

I don't know why DISTINCT doesn't work in PL/SQL. You might need to do two GROUP BYs; one to get distinct branches, and the other to collapse that down to one row per deptno:

Don't use wm_concat; it's not documented. Since you have Oracle 11.2, you can use LISTAGG, or, if you really need the DISTINCT feature outside of PL/SQL, the user-defined STRAGG which you can copy from the following page:
