11g_R2_DB_BLOCK_SIZE

Question

Hi All,
We are importing 9i DB to 11gR2 DB as a part of Migration . Import successful into 11g DB , but i create this 11g DB with 4096 DB_BLOCK_SIZE,
my doubt is does this 4096 block size affects the 11gr2 DB in future anyway.
source(9i) also 4096 block size:
does we need to :
1. Drop and recreate 11gR2 DB with 8 KB block.
2. OR i can go ahead with this block size.

The correct answer is: It depends.
What is the purpose of your database? Is it small transactional type , large transactional or Is it DSS warehouse type?
Standard is 8K. Oracle Blocksize is atleast same as OS block size or multiple of OS if possible. I forgot the source but I had read somewhere that Oracle performs all its testing on standard 8K. I can see you can go to 16K or 32K block sizes for warehouse type environment btu that also in specific case.
I would suggest if possible recreate your database with Standard 8K block size and then you don't have to worry about this thing OR you can always use multiple block sizes at tablespace level.
