Standard stuff.
All non-SYS, non-SYSTEM accounts are locked as a security measure whenever a new database gets created. It's been that way since at least 10g Release 1, and possibly from 9i Release 2 (my memory fails me on that one, however).
You're supposed to click the 'password management' button that appears at the end of the database creation process.
Failing that, you're supposed to log on as SYS or SYSTEM and do:
alter user FRED identified by NEWPASSWORD account unlock;

Win7: Lightroom 6: Install worked but start impossible

Hi Experts,
I am running Lightroom 5.7 fine on Win7pro, 64bit.
Today I purchased/downloaded the upgrade to LR6 (stand alone) from Adobe.
The installation went well, I had to give Adobe-ID/password, new and old serial numerns: All fine, it did install.
BUT:
When I try to start the new LR6, it askes again for Adobe-ID/password, seems to accept, asks me to accept the license agreement (what I do), and then:
NOTHING: No error message, no system activy no single adobe task runing on my PC.
Some Tests:
I restarted the PC and tried again: Same as above...
When I start LR5.7, it luckily still works fine.
Internet-acces is fine, including access to https-pages of Adobe.
So now I am clueless - what went wrong?
Is there a logfile hidden somewhere that can tell me more?

Thanks, but I do not (really) seem to have the CC environment:
The mentioned search did not show anything in the start menu, BUT there was an entry unter control panel / programs:
I deleted the Adobe Creative Cloud "program" (installed in February, possibly left over from a trial), restarted, and - had again no luck.
But still, my issue is solved now:
It was an internet connection issue:
Access to Adobe worked well with Mozilla Firefox (no proxy), but Lightroom silently took the unused proxy setting from Microsoft Internet-Explorer (that I rarely use) and failed.
Oh, Adobe, please tell us what is going on - even a simple "cannot connect" message would have helped ("... while trying to connect to .... , using proxy ..." would even be better, far better).

You can try using this tool to first remove all traces of Reader from your computer:
http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, you can download the full offline Reader installer from
http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

If you are running Lion or Mountain Lion, the drivers are downloaded from within Bootcamp Assistant. If you are running Snow Leopard the drivers are on your Snow Leopard install disk.

When you say you have tried everything, it would help if you told us what you have tried to avoid duplication.
When you installed iTunes did you get any error messages?
Anyway, on the face of it it may be worth trying a separate install of Apple application support.
Uninstall iTunes again. Now open Apple Software update, assuming it is working.
It should offer to download iTunes. Don't do it yet, go to the Tools menu and select Download only.
Then download iTunes. Then go to the tools menu again and select Open download folder and you should see a collection of six files.
Before going on, can you get to this stage OK?
One further thing I would like you to check, are you ahving any problems with Windows updates? Could you check in Windows Update to see if there are any failures.

Firefox previously worked fine but after installing new version does not open. Opens in the same day that I install it but not after restarting computer.

I just installed the new version of firefox. My firefox worked fine with the previous version. But the new version only works on the day I install it but the next time i start my computer it does not work. It does not open after clicking the icon. I even uninstalled it and then reinstalled it but again the same thing happened. I have no idea about plug ins etc. but I did not install any new ones.

Accelerator card added: 1.6 MHz
1.5 Gig Ram
I have erased the partition that had Leopard installed on it.
I zapped the pram.
In Open Firmware, I "reset-nvram", and then "reset-all"
I tried to reinstall G4 FW Update 4.2.8, but that must be done when booted from OS 9, and of course, that's the problem: it won't boot into 9.
I tried restarting from 9.2.1 DVD.
I tried restarting from an external firewire drive containing OS 9.2.2.
I tried moving a fresh OS 9.2.2 system folder into an empty partition on an internal hard drive. (Partition was created WITH OS 9 drivers installed.)
All attempts to boot into OS 9 give me the same results - grey screen - no spinning beach ball, no icons or logos - just a blank grey screen.
This machine still works fine in OS 10.3 and 10.4, and it worked fine for many years booting into OS 9, until I installed Leopard, and I haven't been able to boot into OS 9 since then, although I have done considerable research online and tried many things.
I have since learned that this machine does not support Leopard - 10.5. Fine, but how did it break 9.2.2?
Any help greatly appreciated.

Problem solved.
In the docs that came with my Powerlogix accelerator card, I found this sentence buried:
"If you reset the PRAM, the NVRAM code for OS9 compatibility is cleared, so you will have to boot from the Firmawre Update CD and perform this process again in order to boot in OS9."
The "process" it's referring to is the process of setting up the NVRAM for booting into OS9 from the CD.
Fortunately, I was able to find the disk, and it worked as expected. I can now, once again boot into OS9.
Conclusion: My (unadvised) attempt to load Leopard on this old machine apparently reset the PRAM on the accelerator card and cleared the NVRAM code for OS9 boot. Although I did attempt to reset the NVRAM via Open Firmware, it did not reset it on the accelerator card.
So, thank you BDAQua, for your "Ah yes" . . . that's all I needed to steer me in the right direction.

Shouldn't still have a 'beachballing'... if the drive is being found and the system is trying to boot from it but is having problems, I would suggest looking over ds store's user tip - Step by step to fix your Mac.
It's likely either something corrupt in your system files or a failing hard drive. But follow ds's steps until you find the cause of the problem.

Well I was able to obtain a work around download of Flash and it installed fine but Firefox tells me it needs updating so I go out, thinking I'm "IN" finally to update it and I get that issue of not being able to get the update for it. It's a regular laptop, not a touch screen or one of those new fangled ones for todays world. In fact it's a refurb so it's probably origin date was a year or so ago before all this MS stuff took off fully. So not understanding why I'm feeling like I'm being BLOCKED from getting the updated Flash I need and desire. If I click on the little "X" and tell it to ignore the warning the vid will play just fine but don't want to have to do that every time. Must be a better way.
Again, I'm sorry for posting in the wrong forum, getting this posted in the Flash forum was my desire but the way Adobe has this set up I just couldn't figure it out. I belong to ALLOT of forums and most are pretty straight forward but this one is confusing!

So here's what I done so far:
tried resetting PRAM - No success
Done disk utility. Disk verified with no errors. I even re formatted disk. - no success starting.
Tried re installing mountain lion via download . It froze halfway installing -no success.
Tried backing up a time machine backup from my USB hard drive. It froze at 1% - no success
Tried booting from safe mode - no success
Tried the command line boot - no success.
Please someone help!

Sounds like the hard dre has left the building, Died, in the Sh*tter, Gone to the hard drive resting place in the sky.
Buy a new drive connect it to the system with a SATA to USB adapter and see if you can install Mt Lion on that drive connected externally. If you can then the drive inside your system has failed.
Oh Wait!!!! You have the 2009 model. They are known for bad drive to logic board cables. So it may not be the drive itself but the cable going from the drive to the logic board. Do the same as above then if the system runs OK with the new drive connected externally install it in the system and see if it boots. If it does you are good to go. If it doesn't then it is more then likely the cable that hs failed.
I would suggest you also SAVE a copy of that download of Mt Lion and create a USB install drive from it using Lion Disk Maker, once you get your system up and running.

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.
