11i patches for windows 2000 server

Can any one let me know about the patches that have been released for 11i installations on windows 2000 server.

We used ACS 3.2 with 200 server several months without problems (with regular security and system updates and ACS was working fine) few weeks ago we have upgraded (upgrade not fresh install) server to 2003 and ACS is still running OK - so I think you dont need affraid of security upgrades
M.
Hope that helps rate if it does

  • No action after click install (8i for window 2000 server)

I tried to install Oracle 8i EE on the PC with Pentium 4 1.6G CPU and 512MB DDR SDRAM,the platform is Windows 2000Server.I started the autorun program and clicked install, but there is no any action afterward.
Is it possible that hareware issue affected the installation? Because I can install Oracle 8i on another PC with Pentium 3 and 512 SDRAM,the platform is also Win 2000 Server.
Does anyone experience such an issue? It is very helpful if you have answer to the problem.Thank you very much.

I'm having exactly the same problem!
Dell Inspiron 8200 notebook - P4 1.6Ghz, 512Mb DDR Ram, GeForce 4 MX 440.. Thought it was a software thing, but even after a totally clean install of win2kpro with no drivers, it won't run..
Trying to install sybase, which uses jre1.2.0 (instead of 1.1.x that oracle installer uses), I get an illegal exception, so it seems to be some sort of hardware incompatibility with older versions of java, but my efforts to change the vers of jre that oracle installer uses haven't managed to work so far..
I've done the same install on 50-60 P3's and Athlon's and never had a single problem :(

  • Newbie Can not Apply 9.2.0.5.0 patch on windows 2000 server

    Hi all,
I am trying to apply patch set 9.2.0.5.0, to oracle database 9.2.0.1.0 release 2, but it seems imposible.
    I recive this msg:
There are no patches that need to be applied from the patch set Oracle9i patch set.
I have read the readme that came with the patch set but I don't realy understand what they want me to do. Cos I am real newbie with oracle.
    Can some one please help?
    Tanx in advance,
    Admir

    I got it.
You have to install the patch in the home dir of you data base and not the home dir that installer creates eachtime it starts.
Also, those commands, in readme file that came with the patchset, are sql command and after each one there should be ; . This doesn't say sometimes in the read me file.
Also when starting the migration tool use ; at the and of the command.
By the way, who writes documentation for oracle products? Don't they need to be fired?

  • Developer 6i Installation with Oracle 8i on Windows 2000 Server

    Hi Folks,
We are using Oracle 8i (8.1.7) with Developer 6i for the past 2-3 years. Oracle 8i is installed on Windows 2000 Server and the client machines have Developer 6i installed. Using the Net 8 Easy Configuration Utility, the clients and the server are linked perfectly and we have never experienced any major issue regarding the connectivity from the client’s sides.
Now my question is that, is there any possibility that we can also install Developer 6i on the server, ‘cause we have tried this several times and every time after installing Developer 6i on the server, the Net 8 Easy Configuration Utility does not invokes and obviously we are unable to use any of the Developer 6i products and moreover after installing Developer the already installed 8i Database does not gets mounted and we are also unable to use the database.
Are we missing some basic stuff here or do we need to run some patch for Windows 2000 Server?
Another thing, all our forms and reports are residing on client’s hard disks; can we also have the option that the forms and reports should also reside on the server so that we can easily update our forms and reports definitions from the server side?
    TIA
    Hassan

    Hi,
Yeah, I installed both the products i.e, database and developer in separate directories.

  • Oracle 9.2.0.1 software URL for window 2003 server

    I go to http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/oracle9i/index.html
and download two zip files from Oracle9i Release 2 (9.2.0.1) for Windows SERVER 2003.
However, one zip file is for the Oracle installer and the other zip file is for
    9.2.0.3 patch.
There is NO 9.2.0.1 base software for window 2000 server.
Where can I download the 9.2.0.1 base software for window 2000 server (32 bit)?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    From metalink :
    Microsoft Windows 2003 (x86) Version 2003
Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition Version 9.2
    Status: Certified
Certification Note: Patch Set 9.2.0.3.0 or higher is required.
That's why when you download 9iR2 for W2003 32-bits, you download the 9.2.0.3.

Also make sure you install Install XML Parser since on Windows platforms, Rapid Install requires Microsoft XML Parser 3.0 Service Pack 4 (or later) in order to set up and start services.
    1) Open the Windows Explorer
    2) Navigate to the system root directory (default is C:\winnt\system32).
    3) Right-click msxm13.dll. Select Properties. them click Version.
    4) If XML Parser is not already installed, or if the version on your system is not 3.0 SP4 (or later), go to the following URL and download the Microsoft XML Parser 3.0 SP4 Software Development Kit:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=b432cd45-b7ed-4c32-a443-ec56f10ee175&displaylang=en
    5) After installing MSXML 3.0 SP4 SDK, copy msxm12.lib from <Microsoft XML Parser SDK>\lib to <Visual C++/C>\lib, where <Microsoft XML Parser SDK> is the installed location of the MSXML 3.0 SP4 SDK, and <Visual C++/C> is the installed location of Visual C++/C 6.0.
For pre-req software, make sure NOT to install it in a directory that contains spaces and NOT under APPL_TOP

  • Oracle 9.0.1.1.1 For Windows/2000 HTTP server

I can not start Oracle HTTP Server after Oracle 9.0.1.1.1 installation . I am getting error : The application or DLL $ORA_HOME\Apache\JServ\ApacheModuleJServ.dll is not a Valid Windows Image . Bad dll file in install disks ?
    File ApacheModuleJServ.dll size 54K . Please send a valid ApacheModuleJServ.dll .

The Calendar SDK was only certified for the platforms you list, although I don't expect you would encounter any platform-specific problems using it on Windows 2000 or XP. That said, those platforms are not officially supported for 9.0.4.2, with all that implies.
The upcoming 9.0.5 release should be certified for Windows 2000 (only - and, of course, subject to change up until it actually ships).

  • Citrix Client M/c Not Responding - Windows 2000 Server

    Hi all,
I have Windows 2000 Server with Terminal Services and Citrix Metaframe 1.8 for Windows 2000 running on it. We are using Oracle Apps 11i and Oracle 8i on Sun Solaris 8.
The Citrix Clients are Win 95/98 m/c running ICA32. The ERP Application is run by the clients through Citrix Server using IE5.0
Some of the forms are not responding always when client is using citrix technology but the same client(s) can run the application when he is using his own IE5.0
Can somebody help us out. Is it supported by Oracle Apps 11i or not. Or some fine tuning is to done or some patches are required to be downloaded.
    Thanks in advance.

Is this a true Apps 11i environment? Why do you need to go through Citrix instead of direct browser access?

  • Windows 2000 Server, and 2TB volume

    Hey there.
So we recently racked a 7TB Xserve RAID, and plugged it into our Cisco FC switch, and Windows isn't playing nice.
I have a 2.2TB RAID5 volume that I have made available to this Windows 2000 Server (SP4) which Disk Management sees, but says in "unreadable". If I split the volume into two LUNs, it sees both 1.1TB volumes just fine.
Is there a 2TB upper limit to Windows 2000, or is there some cocktail of patches I need to install? I'd rather not have to split the LUNs just do use dynamic disks to make a continuous volume on the server...
Oh, and the volume shows up just fine to the OS X 10.3.9 server which is also plugged into the FC switch...
Oh, and a side question - is there a way to force Mac OS X 10.3.9 server to rescan the SCSI bus (Fiber Channel fabric) for disks without rebooting? I find it annoying to have to call up users and tell them to save / logout when I just want to bring a new disk online...

    Then I'd recommend 2003 SP 1
Note, if you do have to slice and then re-assemble the volumes on your 2K server, be sure to do concatenated sets, NOT striped sets, from within Disk Administrator. If you stripe slices on the same RAID set, you're going to cause TONS of extra head seeking, as it tries to read from stripes on different sections of the SAME disk. There will be no performance penalty with concatenated slices, because it will always be reading off all 7 spindles.

  • J2SE 1.3.1_08  DST upgrade on Windows 2000 server

    Need help ASAP!
Due to a new DaySavingsTime policy we're planning to apply OS patches to fix the issue with our current version J2SE 1.3.1_08. Need to know if these patches will fix the issue or we need to upgrade to J2SE 1.3.1_18 or higher?
The code behind in some of our applications uses import.java.sql.Timestamp import.java.sql.GregorianCalendar
SimpleDate and other Date/Time related functions
If upgrade is needed will it be supported by Windows 2000 server and older version of WebSphere? What si the version that will be working with all of the above: new tz functions, Windows 2000 and WebSphere 3.65.7?

I've worked it out thanks - it was a Tomcat 4.1 as a service oddity...
In Tomcat 4.1, each JVM Option must be entered in the registry as one option per key, e.g.
    JVM Option Number 1 -server
    JVM Option Number 2 -XX:+AggressiveHeap
    and not
JVM Option Number 1 -server -XX:+AggressiveHeap
Hope this is useful to fellow Tomcat users. Oh, and in Tomcat 5, it places all the values into a single key in the registry and works - just for fun I guess ;-)

    those error as above:
it do not appear in intermedia for solaris.
So,I think it is a new bug of intermedia for windows 2000.
Welcome to talk about the bug to me!

ctxsrv is deprecated in 8.1.7 so please use ctx_ddl.index_sync() for maintaining the index.
Regarding CLOBs there is a bug with NT when the content of the CLOB contains more than 2000 chars. It should be fixed in the 8.1.7 patch release.

  • Can I install Oracle 8.1.5 on Windows 2000 server or Windows 2000 professional

    Hi,
Can I install Oracle 8.1.5 on a Windows 2000 server or Windows 2000 professional server?
    Regards,
    Zurvaan

Yes, of course. Both versions works but you have to be prepared for lots of RAM.

  • Installation problem JDK 1.5 on Windows 2000 server

I am trying to install the new J2SE Development Kit 5.0 for Windows 32 bit on a windows server 2000 computer with sp4. When I attempt to execute the file
    I get the following result
    # An unexpected error has been detected by HotSpot Virtual Machine:
    # EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x036eb514, pid=1872, tid=1592
    # Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (1.4.2_10-b03 mixed mode)
    # Problematic frame:
    # C [awt.dll+0xb514]
I see that the log file refers to Hot spot client 1.4.2 - I'll post the rest of log if necessary but thought I would try asking in case the solution is clear without the full log.
I understand JDK 5.0 can be installed on windows 2000 server with service pack 3 or 4. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

    I've checked all these possibilities:
    (1) DLL's associated with JAVA - none other than 1.5
    (2) Path makes no reference to 1.4 anywhere
    (3) No othe java programs are listed in add/remove programs
    (4) no oracle product is installed
    (5) windows 2000 registry does not contain anything obviously associated with 1.4.2
IS any Java product included automatically with Windows 2000 Service pack 4?
Here is the full log file text:

  • WIndows 7 64-bit system printing to a Windows 2000 server configured as a print server

Is there any way to configure a new Windows 7 64-bit computer to use a Windows 2000 server configured as a print server ?
The printer that I would like to connect to is an HP 4240n LaserJet. I appears that there is only a 64-bit Universal Print Driver available. The server currently uses HP 32-bit PCL5e or PCL6 drivers for all other connected computers. Connection is through a Hewlett-Packard Network Port, using DLC/LLC transport for the embedded 4240n print server.
Installing  the HP 64-bit UPD to the WIndows 7 64-bit system, and then attempting to redirect the local port to the Win2k network print server has not worked.
    Thanks for any advice.

    Hi:
    See if this works...
    Run msconfig.
In the System Configuration screen, Boot tab, Advanced Options, if there is a check mark in the box next to Maximum memory. Remove that checkmark and save your changes.
Reboot and hopefully Windows recognises all the Ram ( minus the reserved ) after restarting.
Please give that a try, and post back and let us know if that frees up some system memory for you.
    Paul
