11i-R12 upgrade and MOS 954704.1 (pre-upgrade

I am performing the 11.5.10.2 -> R12.1.1 Upgrade using the Maint Wizard (v2.19) on Linux x86.
I am at this step:
Cat - Upg to Rel 12.1.1
ProdFamily - Perform the Upgrade
Task - Apply Preinstall Patches
Step - Check for critical pre-upgrade patches for Financials
Action - Follows MOS note 954704.1 to apply pre-upgrade patches
I would like to know whether I need to use any special options/parameters to adpatch when applying these R12 patches.
Thanks

I don't understand. I haven't applied ANY R12 patches (except OAS 10.1.2.3) yet since I am still at a "pre-upgrade" step.
So the R12 patch cannot be in AD_BUGS.
The R12.AD.A.delta.4 patch is 6510214. Don't I need to know whether it is in the Rapid Install upgrade driver u6678700.drv?Sorry, I thought you are asking how to find if it is applied or not later after the upgrade.
Just follow the same logic we did with Patch 6856840, search MOS for (R12.AD.A.DELTA.4, Patch 6510214) and you will get the list of patches that includes this patch (according to MOS website, I can see that this patch is only included in R12.AD.A.DELTA.6).
Thanks,
Hussein

    Hi Mark,
I own Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design Premium Upgrade and I bought the upgrade to Adobe Creative Suite 6 Production Premium but it wont work with my serial number what have I done wrong

Moving this discussion to the Downloading, Installing, Setting Up forum.
Aussimick you will want to enter in the qualifying serial number from the full version of Adobe software you purchased.  You can find the serial numbers located under your account by following the steps listed in Find your serial number quickly - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html.

  • How can I determine what sites are being referenced within Central Admin Upgrade and Migration Manage Databases Upgrade Status?

When I go to Central Admin > Upgrade and Migration  > Manage Databases Upgrade Status, I have 2 content databases which have the status:
Database is up to date, but some sites are not completely upgraded.
How can I determine which sites are not completely upgraded?

Manage Databases Upgrade Status will provide you all active and offline DB details, you can get same result
    using below PowerShell cmdlet.
Get-SPDatabase and Get-SPContentDatabase will provide all active database/Content DB in Farm which include Service application db, central admin DB.
    Get-SPDatabase | Format-Table Name, ID
Coming back to your question, if you find that there are some site are not completely upgraded then run below command and understand the cause if issue on specific DB.
    Test-SPContentDatabase WSS_ContentDB_Name
If you find any missing file issue in DB then resolve these issue to upgrade content database.
(verify all customizations referenced within the content database are also installed in the web application. This cmdlet can be issued
against a content database currently attached to the farm, or a content database that is not connected to the farm )
    Use the Upgrade-SPContentDatabase cmdlet
to resume a failed database upgrade or begin a build-to-build database upgrade against a SharePoint content database
    Upgrade-SPContentDatabase WSS_Content

  • HT5460 What is the difference between an OSX upgrade and an OSX Combo upgrade?

That's my question, right there in the subject line. Thanks!
    Andy

That didn't work, actually. I tried the 10.8.4 combo update and got a message that it requires 10.8. I'm trying to go from 10.6.8 to 10.8.4. Maybe I'm too far behind? Do I need to download all the various "in between" upgrades to get where I want to be? I've never updated my OS before, so thanks for your patience with my questions.

  • HT1338 My iPhoto account wont stop saying it needs to quit as soon as I open it, quit or upgrade and it won't upgrade, what to do?

It claims there's an incosistency in my database and won't upgrade when choosing upgrade...tries to quit then relaunch but continuosly goes to quit or upgrade, what do I do?

Hold both the Command - and Option - keys down as you open iPhoto from your dock.
You will be presented with various database repair options.  Choose appropriate ones.  Generally work from top to bottom in the list you're shown.

  • Mountain Lion upgrade and Numbers, Mountain Lion upgrade and Numbers

I have upgraded both Mountain Lion and Numbers for Mac and iPhone but now when I try to open a file from either an error message comes up saying "The index.xml file is missing." and it wont open.
Please help, this is a very important spreadsheet!!!
    Thank you
    Karen

iWork '09 installed from the retail disk or from the downloaded trial must be updated through Software Update. In Mountain Lion Software Update has been "rolled into" the Mac App Store. Choose Software Update from the Apple menu just like you always have & the Mac App Store will launch. Depending on what you have that needs updating you may see two sections in the MAS window.
But, as always, if you're not running the latest versions of the iWork apps installed from a retail box or the downloaded trial & Software Update says your software is up to date, make sure the applications are where the installer initially put them. The updaters are very picky. If the location is not where the updater is programmed to look or if the folder doesn't have the name the updater looks for, it will not work. The applications cannot be renamed or moved. If you installed from the downloaded trial or the retail box, they must be in the iWork '09 folder in Applications. That iWork folder must be named iWork '09. If it doesn't have the '09 Software Update won't find them & the updaters won't work.
You can try the standalone updater found on this page.

  • Charged for upgrade and never finished the upgrade

In august I went to the local verizon store after realizing I was eligible for an upgrade. Online I was able to get an iPhone or galaxy for free but when I went to the store that was not the case. I started the upgrade process in the store but did not have the funds necessary so had to cancel. Now that it is almost Christmas my husband wants to get me a new phone but my upgrade date shows 2016 and after going back through my bills I was charged the upgrade fee even though I never successfully completed the upgrade. Has anyone else had this problem? I have about had enough with verizon and am thinking of switching if I resolve this matter and once my husbands line is out of contract.

Thank you for bringing this up to our attention, Jlditton. If you never went through with your device upgrade, that should not have been charged and changed. We recommend reaching out to us at customer service: 1-800-922-0204, in order to have this reviewed.

  • Just upgraded - and took a big performance hit

As prompted, I upgraded Safari and Leopard just an hour ago, and my computer has been lagging ever since. My word processor (Mellel) labors over every letter, web sites groan to display themselves, and even typing this brief message is a chore.
    Is this just me?

    Is this just me?
Yes, it's just you. Unfortunately, it's hard to say what it may take to get you back to normal. These sorts of things happen when you upgrade over an already corrupted system. Since you didn't provide any information on exactly what you did, how you did it, in what order, or over what system level I can only stab at possible solutions.
    First, try the following:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now shutdown the computer for a couple of minutes and then restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger, and 4.1 for Leopard) and/or TechTool Pro (4.6.1 for Leopard) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
Afterwards I would suggest downloading the standalone Safari 3.1 upgrade and the Leopard Combo upgrade from Apple's Download Site. Reinstall the upgrades. Be sure when you do the upgrades that no other applications are running and that you do not use the computer in any way until the upgrades are completed.
    Second, do some maintenance:
Kappy's Personal Suggestions for OS X Maintenance
For disk repairs use Disk Utility. For situations DU cannot handle the best third-party utilities are: Disk Warrior; DW only fixes problems with the disk directory, but most disk problems are caused by directory corruption; Disk Warrior 4.0 is now Intel Mac compatible. TechTool Pro provides additional repair options including file repair and recovery, system diagnostics, and disk defragmentation. TechTool Pro 4.6.1 is Leopard compatible; Drive Genius is similar to TechTool Pro in terms of the various repair services provided. The current version, 1.5.1, is Intel Mac compatible.
OS X performs certain maintenance functions that are scheduled to occur on a daily, weekly, or monthly period. The maintenance scripts run in the early AM only if the computer is turned on 24/7 (no sleep.) If this isn't the case, then an excellent solution is to download and install a shareware utility such as Macaroni, JAW PseudoAnacron, or Anacron that will automate the maintenance activity regardless of whether the computer is turned off or asleep.
OS X automatically defrags files less than 20 MBs in size, so unless you have a disk full of very large files there's little need for defragmenting the hard drive. As for virus protection there are few if any such animals affecting OS X. You can protect the computer easily using the freeware Open Source virus protection software ClamXAV. Personally I would avoid most commercial anti-virus software because of their potential for causing problems.
I would also recommend downloading the shareware utility TinkerTool System that you can use for periodic maintenance such as removing old logfiles and archives, clearing caches, etc.
For emergency repairs install the freeware utility Applejack. If you cannot start up in OS X, you may be able to start in single-user mode from which you can run Applejack to do a whole set of repair and maintenance routines from the commandline. Note that presently AppleJack is not compatible with Leopard.
When you install any new system software or updates be sure to repair the hard drive and permissions beforehand. I also recommend booting into safe mode before doing system software updates.
Get an external Firewire drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):
    1. Retrospect Desktop (Commercial - not yet universal binary)
    2. Synchronize! Pro X (Commercial)
    3. Synk (Backup, Standard, or Pro)
    4. Deja Vu (Shareware)
    5. PsynchX 2.1.1 and RsyncX 2.1 (Freeware)
    6. Carbon Copy Cloner (Freeware - 3.0 is a Universal Binary)
    7. SuperDuper! (Commercial)
    8. Data Backup (Commercial)
The following utilities can also be used for backup, but cannot create bootable clones:
    1. Backup (requires a .Mac account with Apple both to get the software and to use it.)
    2. Toast
    3. Impression
    4. arRSync
Apple's Backup is a full backup tool capable of also backing up across multiple media such as CD/DVD. However, it cannot create bootable backups. It is primarily an "archiving" utility as are the other two.
Impression and Toast are disk image based backups, only. Particularly useful if you need to backup to CD/DVD across multiple media.
Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQs on maintenance, optimization, virus protection, and backup and restore.
Additional suggestions will be found in Mac Maintenance Quick Assist.
Referenced software can be found at www.versiontracker.com and www.macupdate.com.
    Third, try updating pre-binding:
    1. Open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder.
    2. At the prompt enter or paste the following command:
    sudo update_prebinding -root / -force
Press RETURN. You will be prompted for your password which will not be echoed. Wait until the prompt reappears then quit the Terminal and restart your computer.

  • What is difference between Startup upgrade and startup migration.

what is difference between Startup upgrade and startup migration.

I am having the metalink note.
STARTUP MIGRATE was introduced in 9.2 as a mechanism to be sure that most everything that needs to be done to run an upgrade script or a patch script is done automatically. In the past, customers were expected to adjust certain initialization parameters prior to beginning an upgrade or applying a a patch,
but most of this is now done automatically by STARTUP MIGRATE.
When a customer starts a database in MIGRATE mode, the following ALTER SYSTEM
    commands will be set automatically:
But i am not sure what exactly the meaning by startup upgrade.
and exactly the startup upgrade and startup migrate

  • Someone help me I still have iPhone 3 and I can't download anything like my slotmania it let me download later version but keeps asking for me to upgrade and trying to figure out why it keeps doing that when I have already got downloaded but won't let me

Someone please help me I have an iPhone 3GS version 4.2.1 8c148a and I downloaded slotmania this morning and it won't let me play it keeps asking if I want to upgrade and I can't upgrade because phone won't let me so I'm wanting to play my game I use to could play it and farmville but for some reason it won't let me play .... Can someone help me figure out something because I'm sure their is a way I can and husband won't upgrade me and I got free upgrade and can't even get because he's cheap it's sad Hugh

What iPhone do you have? You can check in settings>>general>> about.
If you have a 3G you cannot update beyond iOS 4.2.1. The 3G is over 4 years old an was discontinued over 2 1/2 years ago. You need the latest ios to run the latest versions of some apps. If you have a 3GS you can update.
If your phone is not responding, reset it by pressing and holding down both the home button ad lock/ sleep button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears.

  • Libros y Audiolibros en Español--cannot upgrade, and cannot purchase audiobooks.

Two major problems with this App.
One, I cannot successfully purchase an audiobook through the app. I can download a free text-only book, but there are no free audiobooks that I've found. When I try to purchase an audiobook, it goes through the BlackBerry World sign in, I put in my password, it verifies my account, and then says "content not available". I have tried several different book. I have no problem at all purchasing apps through BB World, and there is no problem with my PAyPAl or credit card accounts.
Two, I have version 1.0.xxx of this app. In BB World it says version 2.1 is available for upgrade, and when I click upgrade it gives the install bar, but doesn't upgrade. If I go into BB World on the Internet and choose to download this app, it says it is giveing me version 2.1, but after it has downloaded and installed on the BB Z10, it still is version 1.0.xxx and says there is an upgrade to 2.1 available. I have tried first deleting version 1.0.xxx, hard rebooting the Z10, reinstalling what is said to be v 2.1, but no luck.
I have emailed the developer in Spain (in Spanish) and received no response from them.
My Z10 OS is 10.1.0.2354, an offical release, and is working well.
    Any ideas, anyone?

  • I quite by accident ended up with FCE 2, FCE 3.5 Upgrade and FCE 4 Upgrade

To install on my 2004 G5 Power Mac 2.5 Dual.
The FCE 2 came with my computer when I bought it new in late 2004, the others I bought recently.
From what I'm hearing here it appears that the difference between my upgrades and the full version of FCE 4 are; Sound, I think my will retain with the Upgrades. And something else that forgot, I get with the 3.5 Upgrade and then the 4 Upgrade after that, rather than skipping the 3.5 Upgrade.
I ran out of money so I couldn't get FCS 2 that I wanted and I am trying to get the best FCExpress that I can and the most compatible trouble free that I can for my old system.
I am shooting with A New Canon HV20 and I have already upgraded to Leopard 10.5.2 and Quicktime Pro and iLife 08
Should I skip the 3.5 Upgrade and just Upgrade to the 4 or should I Upgrade to 3.5 and then Upgrade to 4, Thank You.

It's definitely a bad idea to have two different versions of Final Cut on the same computer, so the only way you'd be able to do a "dual upgrade" is to fully install FCE3.5 w/ Soundtrack and LiveType, and upon installing FCE4, choose only to install/upgrade FCE itself. If that's possible. If not, you may be able to accomplish the same thing by digging through the installer's package contents on the install DVD.

  • Upgrade and transfer device

I have a family share plan where I am primary number. I am eligible for an upgrade and would like to upgrade and transfer my current phone to the secondary number. Is this possible?

Yes. Just upgrade your line and get the phone you want, and when you activate that phone on your line, your old phone will automatically be deactivated, so you can activate that old phone on the secondary line.

  • 11i-R12 upgrade: when to apply patch 8919489

I am performing an 11.5.10.2 -> R12.1.1 upgrade on Linux-x86 using the Maint Wizard (MW).
MOS ID 437878.1 says to apply patch 8919489 (R12.TXK.B.Delta.3) BEFORE applying the bundle forms patch 9593176 (and any missing patches) as part of the OAS 10.1.2.3 upgrade.
The MW has patch 8919489 being applied AFTER the OAS 10.1.2.3 upgrade patches (done in MOS 437878.1) and after the main 12.1.1 upgrade patch (u6678700.drv).
Does it matter when this patch is applied?
    Thanks

I suppose that I should clarify.
    - The MW says to follow MOS 437878.1 BEFORE starting the primary upgrade patch
    - MOS 437878.1 says to apply patch 8919489 as a pre-req patch
    - The MW says to apply patch 8919489 after the primary upgrade patch
So, is it to be applied along with the other 437878.1 patches or after the primary upgrade patch?
I don't know where MOS 437878.1 is referenced as part of the 11i-R12 upgrade outside of the MW.
    Thanks
