12.1.0.71 installed - itunes outlook add-in lost

Since I installed itunes 12.1.0.71, my iphone 6 was not able to sync calendar and contacts any more. The itunes outlook add-in was also gone and I am stikk unbable, to get it back in the add-ins of my outlook 2013 (win 8.1). What do you suggest, I should do?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If the advice above doesn't resolve things you could try this alternate version:
iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
which is a 64-bit installer for the 32-bit version of the core application, similar to previous 64-bit releases.
Or roll back to the previous build:
iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)

Thank you so much for your response. I will go through the instructions in the article. As a followup, however, I am using the most current version of itunes, so I don't know why I can't see the newest addin (outlookitunessync... or whatever it is). I uninstalled itunes and quicktime and reinstalled, but it didn't appear in my Trust Center. I followed the directions at the top of the discussion forum for problems with outlook, uninstalled itunes, apple mobile support, and apple updater, deleted my itunes folder and emptied the trash, rebooted, downloaded a fresh itunes from top to bottom. I still don't see the sync addin. I'm interested in the article you sent because I do have some blocked startup programs. Always do, and just ignore them. So, maybe tomorrow I'll use the info you sent me and give that a try.
I really appreciate you taking the time to help! I'll followup with the result afterwards.

  • Syncing iphone to itunes - outlook cotact info lost

I have 216 or so contacts in Outlook, with names, numbers, email addresses and home addresses. After syncing my iphone 3G to itunes, it somehow erased ALL of my contacts' home address information. Is there a backup of my old contact list somewhere on my computer that I can go to so I do not lose this information forever. Also, how do I avoid this from happening again if I am able to restore it through Outlook?

There will only be a backup if you created one prior to syncing. If not, then no, sorry.
Outlook syncronization with iTunes is very dissapointing. In your case what seems to have happened is that iTunes and iPhone have decided that certain fields with certain titles are not worthy of being synced. For example, you can have a work address, a home address, or a other address. If your values had a different name, it is like if they didn't exist for iTunes. Same thing is happening to me with phone numbers. If the phone number field doesnt match one of the standard ones in the iPhone, it wont sync.
Outlook contacts are stored in the PST file. Unless you have a backup of that file somewhere, then you will not be able to recover the data.
If you decide you want to re-enter all that information, I would suggest making a copy of the Contacts folder before you sync again. You can drag and drop a copy of the folder within Outlook, and it will rename it Contacts1.
I would also suggest trying one or two addresses first to make sure you are putting them in a field that iTunes and iPhone like. Otherwise you could end up right back where you started.
    Good luck!!!

  • Re-installation of iTunes is missing "Outlook iTunes Sync add-in"

I was having syncing issues between iPhone calendar and MS Outlook 2007. The date and time as incorrect after resync. I reinstalled iTunes and removed some non-iTunes add-in's and this seems to have fixed the problem. But, the re-installation of iTunes is missing the "Outlook iTunes Sync add-in". I only have the "iTunes Outlook add-in". Is the "Outlook iTunes Sync add-in" necessary?
    Thanks....

No, the second add-in has not been part of iTunes since the release of version 7.4.

I am unable to load the "iCloud Outlook Add-In" into Outlook 10 on a Vista PC.  I periodicall get a note that the add-in will cause Outlook to crash.  There is however an add-in loaded that is "iTunes Outlook Add-In".  When I first installed iCloud everything updated just fine but as I have add contact and calendar items to either the ios device or the PC nothing has updated.  Can someone help me get my iCloud working?

  • HT5622 After installing iTunes Match I have lots most of my iTunes songs and albums help please

After installing iTunes Match I have lost most of my songs and albums help?

iTunes Match on the computer will not change the library content.  The iTunes Match 3 step process must complete on the computer based library before being associated with any IOS devices.
It is always important to make a secure backup of your Song files prior to these activities.

  • HT1692 Have recently installed itunes and outlook on a new computer.  Have multiple email accounts set up in Outlook tho only use contacts and calendar in relation to one of these. Cannot sync itunes with the correct contacts and calendars, Help!

My new computer is 64-bit running Windows 7 pro, SP1 and Microsoft Office 2010 Pro Plus 32-bit
My phone is a 4S runing iOS 6.1.3
Very frustrated now that I have recently installed itunes and outlook on this new computer.  Everything worked perfectly ok on my laptop which was also 64-bit Windows 7 and running 32-bit Microsoft Office 2010 Pro.  I have multiple email accounts set up in Outlook tho only use contacts and calendar in relation to one of these. Cannot sync itunes with the correct contacts and calendars, when I sync the calendar and contacts are empty.  Not sure if there is any way to point itunes to particular address books and calendars.
I have installed and uninstalled itunes 3 times and thank goodness have a backup
    Can anyone help please?
    thanks in anticipation

I had my home computer set up to sync to work's Exchange server. It worked well, but I didn't like seeing work email messages and other programs trying to sync with my default Outlook folder, which was then the Exchange (& work related) .ost file. I know there are various ways to manage those problems using filters, view, subfolders, etc., but it was a hassle for me. I think it could work well for many other folks.
For now, I have published my work calendar and subscribed to that calendar on my home computer. So I have view only access to my calendar on my home computer (and I can add/edit calendar items on my iPad (or Outlook Web Access) when away from work). This is not quite what I wanted, but it may work.
It almost makes me long for the days when I used my Windows Mobile Treo to sync back and forth between exchange at work and outlook at home (but had many sync conflicts as a result).

  • Installed ITunes 8 - entire music library lost - hangs if I try to add fold

I just installed iTunes 8 after having been prompted to do so.
When I first opened it the app started to render my album covers, and then stopped.
I was curious about the genius feature, so I enabled that, and it said it was active, but then nothing showed in my music library at all -- no covers, not a single track.
I tried re-adding the folder where I store my music, I get a processing message, but then it just hangs.
I ended the task, tried adding a single song -- that song added successfully, so I added one more -- also OK, and they could play. So I tried adding the whole folder again - hangs.
    End task again.
Re-open - the songs I added manually aren't there anymore. Every time I add a song, it shows temporarily, then when I exit and go back in the whole list is erased again.
At the file system level the folder where it stores all the info about music is COMPLETELY EMPTY: \\server\users\myusername\my documents\my music\itunes\itunes music\
That folder used to have hundreds of folders and files? What the heck happened? Where are my files?
Is this a bug or just some weird issue on the x64 version of Vista that happens when you have my documents folder re-direction turned on? This wasn't a problem with v7.x

Copying the old iTunes Library (from the "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder) didn't work for me. iTunes went through its typical "Updating iTunes Library" routine the next time I launched, and any attempt to add a folder of files to my library still returns Error 13014.

hmmmm. you've got rather a lot of burning software entries in there. (it looks like you've got some kind of Roxio product installed, as well as itunes and Alcohol 120%.)
by way of experiment, try the technique described in the following document (remember to take a backup of your device filter registry keys first).
iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting CD issues caused by device filters
do you still get the itunes message with just the iTunes filters in place?

Correct.  When you purchase devices, they would have stated the OS they needed to work, on the box.  This can be overlooked, but it is very important to check when purchasing.
You current OS, is so old, that they technology build into the new devices, is not something your OS understands.  It didn't exist when your OS was created, and therefore you need to upgrade the OS to work with the newer technology of these devices.
10.6 software is not downloadable.  You must purchase a DVD disc.  You can order it from the on-line apple store

There is no 'earlier' version that supports XP. iCloud launched with Vista/7 support only.

I recently purchased a Windows 8 laptop and istalled Office 2013.  I then installed iTunes. After moving all my music to my new PC I got iTunes to import it, and then synced it to my iPod (3rd gen.) However, I cannot get iTunes to sync my Outlook Calendar or Contacts with my iPod.  When I try it crashes Outlook.  iTunes continues to try to sync, but when it finishes my Calendar and Contents are empty (ERASED!).  I have de-installed and re-installed iTunes (according to Apple's instructions), repaired Office 2013 and Outlook, scanned for viruses (etc), cleaned out temp folders, defragmented, etc., etc., etc. Has anyone seen this before, and does anyone know houw to fix it?  (HELP!)

Well, I guess I have to download some other software to make my apple product work. Really great stuff you guys sell. I will never buy another apple product. My Iphone, Ipod and Itunes are junk
