12" 13" or 14" notebooks that can run CS5.5 half decently?

Hello,
I am buying a new laptop with the intention of doing some HD video editing. When seated at my desk I will use an external HD monitor, but I am looking for a fairly compact laptop so I can remain portable.
Are there any models that are reccomended? Seems most 13" are without discrete graphics. If I was to have a dual core i7, what does this lack of discrete graphics mean in real terms? For example if I was editing HD AVCHD what sort of extra delays would I experience? Would the interface be unusable? Or just slower? By 20%? 50% 200%?
I would prefer a 13" machine and have even been looking at the Lenevo x220 12.5" machine. If I get a 14" machine there tends to be more potential for discrete graphics - but since I'm not doing CS5 stuff day-in-day-out it isn't the only determiner of my purchase. Whatever I buy, it would be with a SSD.
Any specific recomendations for 13 or 14" machines most appreciated.

What minimum CPU would you advise for running CS5.5?
As far as screen size goes - any laptop that I look to get would be capable of displaying 1920x1080 on an external monitor. Likely 95% of any CS5 work that I do would be using an external monitor so I am far less bothered about the screen resolution of the laptop itself. While I'd like at least 900 vertical pixels on a 13/14 inch machine (there are a few!) its not a total deal breaker for me because of the external monitor.
I was thinking about these all with an ssd:
Lenovo x220 - Intel Core i7-2640M Processor (2.8GHz, 4MB L3, 1333MHz FSB), 8gb ram, intel 3000 integrated graphics, 12.5"
Dell e6320 or e6420 (13/14" respectively - Same processor, or a quad i7 is available for the 14", 8gb ram, integrated graphics or discrete option on the 14" of NVIDIA NVS 4200M
How is that Nvidia NVS 4200M for CS5.5? Is anyone able to give some time based example difference in performance between the 4200m and the non-discrete intel integrated 3000 graphics?
I'm guess my current position is that I will not be buying a 15" or larger laptop at the current time - so while the smaller ones might not be perfect, I'd rather buy something that will let me do the odd bit or work when needed (albeit more slowly than I'd like). Perhaps I should be more accuratley looking for the 'least bad' 12-14" machines

Each IPA I build with CS5.5 cannot be installed in my iPod 8GB with iOS 4.2 and before with CS5 I could install all the IPAs there and test.

AIR 2.7 release notes:
AIR runs on "iPodTouch 4th generation iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4iPad".
But:
AIR 2.7 runs on iPod Touch 3rd Generation, too - but only on the 32GB and 64GB models. The 8GB model is in fact only an older 2nd gen iPod Touch.
We tested this and we even have some apps in the app store running on the iPod Touch 3rd gen.

Hello! Is there any combination of OS Lion and iTunes that can run radio streams (primarily pls-streams) without cutting (rebuffing) it for at least 3-4 hours? I am running Lion (10.7.1) on an early-2011 MacBookPro with iTunes 10.3.1 and I am frustrated, because it will cut the stream at least once per hour (it's totally random), while my older MacBook, running Tiger with iTunes 9.2.1 doesn't have any such problems ... Maybe you should upgrade iTunes to the current version - 10.5.3 - and upgrade Lion to 10.7.3.

On the new install with a default Logic Project, kernal_task (activity monitor) shows 600% CPU usage when ideling (no audio or midi playing.

If it's total CPU usage and not Logic itself.. check for a runaway mdworker routine... caused by a spotlight bug thats been longstanding and never totally fixed... Resolve by stopping the MDworker routine and then exclude all drives from spotlight.. and add back in just the system drive. Wait a couple of hours for spotlight to properly reindex the system drive and then test with Logic to see if CPU usage drops down to normal levels...
If it's Logic that is using 600% then something very weird is going on that is specific to your system or install as that simply isn't normal behaviour even with using just the internal hardware and CoreAudio.

People on older Macs are reporting very poor experiences with Yosemite. I have been recommending a minimum of 8 GB RAM and an SSD. If your machine is too old to support that, I strongly urge caution.

You can log into your iCloud account on another computer or device and enable photo stream to see your photos. You should do this as soon as possible because photo stream in the cloud only keeps photos for 30 days and each day you delay, you will lose another days photos.
Photos in the camera roll...
If you kept a back up of your device you can use it to restore to a replacement device, this will restore all of the photos in your camera roll and isn't time limited.

Computer that can run halo 2

im looking to get a pc to play halo 2. it doesn't have to be anything fancy, just something that will run the game smoothly. that is probably the only game i will play. im asking for recommendations because ive never been a pc gamer so im not too sure what is needed. im also looking for something relatively cheap ($500 maybe?) thank you for any help.

As a rule, desktops are generally a must for gamers for several reasons including: ability to upgrade components essential for gaming, space is somewhat unlimited as compared to a notebook and thus more powerfu components can be put into a desktop than can be put into a notebook, and finally notebooks running high-end programs have a tendency to overheat, which will damage the notebook in the long run.
That being said, it really all depends on what your own personal situation. Take me for example: I work internationally and have to travel quite often. Being an avid gamer, it is not really possible for me to lug around a hefty desktop.
Basically, if you are ok with having a computer that will not really be moving around, then in your case, I would for sure recommend a desktop. If you want something more mobile, you might want to try to find a laptop.

How to create a report with selection screen that can run in background

Sorry to ask these basic questions but I am knew to ABAP Programming.
To keep it simply, I am attempting to create a report that has a simple parameter driven selections screen with one field. That field takes in a folder path from the user. The user executes the report. The report creates a simply BDC that goes into SE16, gathers data from a table, and exports the results to a text file using the folder path provided. I created a variant for the folder path field in the selection screen hoping to use it while executing the report in the background. The report is not exporting the file as it did when run in the foreground for some reason.
I am wondering what event is triggered when a report is executed in the background. In the foreground (or when I execute the program via SE38->Execute->With Variant) the user needs to execute the program by hitting the execute button once the variant has populated the folder path field. It works then, so I am trying to get the same to work in the background. I am thinking I didn't put the program together correctly to accommodate the running in the background. How can you create a report that can accept user input via variant into a selection screen and then run in the background?

Ok, finally I understand what you're doing. Initially you lost me with the SE16 reference...
Not sure what you're trying to achieve overall, but apart from the fact that you cannot export/download a file to a user's PC via background job (unless you have a mapped network share on the server or something like an FTP server on the user's PC, but both are pretty hypothetical scenarios and unlikely to occur).
Also, the BDC approach to get data via SE16 is pretty awkward. Note that SE16 is guarded by some authorization checks and often users won't have access in production (which might not matter if you intend to always run your program in background via dedicated batch user). However, I have no clue why you wouldn't want to use [open SQL|http://help.sap.com/abapdocu_70/en/ABENOPEN_SQL_READING.htm] to read the data. You could then save it on the application server or if you really have to get it to the user you can consider e-mailing the file (extracts should be compressed before sending). For the latter you'll find plenty of references here, basically it's the [business communication services|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/2d/1c5d3aebba4c38e10000000a114084/frameset.htm] that you'd need to look at.
