12 days of Christmas...Part 2 - Christmas Songs!

Hi Guys
For the 2nd part of our 12 days of Christmas we want you to tell us what your favourite Christmas song is…
I like loads of them… I’m a very Christmassy person if you can’t tell so I have to pick two – Fairytale of New York by The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl is always a winner… and i'm also partial to a bit of 'I wish it could be Christmas every day by Wizzard!  Lots of memories...
What's your favourite Christmas tune?

  • HELP PLEASE!!! ipod classic 120gb is skiping parts of songs

i had an ipod nano 4th gen be for it and quickly maxed out its memory. so for my birthday this year i figured id up grade to an ipod classic 120gb (6th gen). i just got this thing 3 days ago. i reset it for PC's and loaded my music on. now its skipping parts of songs. it will play through half of a song, or less, and then jump to the next. and some times when i try to go back to the song it skipped it freezes and restarts its self on me. help please?
oh and before you go and say "just restore the thing" i cant. i live out in the middle of nowhere and the internet/itunes connection takes for ever. it took 11 hours for it to download the software update for PC's. and now it wants me to re-download it.

I had the same problem with iTunes 10.3.1.55 on WinXP and the steps in the link referred to here https://discussions.apple.com/message/15394615#15394615 fixed it for me.

  • How can I edit and save parts of songs (like a chorus).

How can I edit and save parts of songs (like a chorus).

The iTunes-only way is:  figure out where you want your excerpt to begin and end.  Right-click the track, Get Info, Options tab, set the Start/Stop times accordingly, and OK out.  Right-click again, and choose Create XXX version (where XXX is the format indicated in your Import settings).  Right-click one more time, and unset the Start/Stop times.
This procedure will leave the full track in place, and will create a new file and library entry with just your excerpt.

Use an audio editor such as Audacity to make a separate file of the part you want and  burn that to a CD.

  • IPhone Playback Dropping Parts of Songs

    Howdy:
My iPhone seems to be dropping parts of songs... All of a sudden, the guitars will vanish or will start and then disappear. Yet, when I play the same track off my computer or even from the iPhone INTO the computer speakers, it works fine.
    In other words:
I hit play, the whole song starts normally, then the 2 guitar tracks (left and right) suddenly stop playing while everything else (drums, bass etc.) plays normally. This does NOT happen when pulling the song FROM the iPhone to play into the computer, or when the track is played FROM the library on the computer.
I have also emailed this track to several people who heard the whole thing fine, on both Mac and PC systems.
It's frustrating because it seems to be happening with just the one song. It's doubly frustrating because I recorded this tune myself and can't play it back while I'm out schmoozing. And all the other tracks of every other song work fine (including other songs I recorded), just this one tune doesn't.
Has anyone else run into this same issue? Is there a limit to bandwidth/ frequency range or stereo panning on an iPhone? It's bizarre that it would start playing the track(s), then suddenly drop the sound of JUST those 2 tracks mid-playback while everything else plays fine...
Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks;

Figured it out- Had "Remember position" selected in get info... Thought this was position in playlist. Duh.

  • HT203167 only part of song downloaded

    Only part of song downloaded.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

  • TS1424 Parts of songs are missing on certain songs of the album. Can I redownload the album?

    Hi,
I have bought an album and noticed that parts of songs are missing. It is like they only partially downloaded because the tracks stop at the same place every time. Can I redownload the album to fix the problem?
    Thanks.

  • HT201272 I am missing parts of songs downloaded from itunes.they are in my purchased section but not in the artists folder.they play for the first part but do not complete the track

For the last few downloads the albums have been incomplete.most of the tracks are ok, but two or three tracks start ok but do not finish ,stopping after an short part and then going on to the next track. the songs are complete when i check them in the purchased section, but are incomplete in the album folder.

Thank you, I read that lengthy procedure before I asked the question.
I have no way of following all of those steps successfully since I am about butterfingered a sthe last dinosaur and will make every  mistake in the world and get frustrated with  something that SHOULD be simple.
I have the three disk autobook showing in iTunes library as one title , I had to  enter the dat amyself since it was not listed on the internet data base, All entries for all tracks match and I have indicated  the disk number  as  one, two or three of three as indicated.
Yet when I sync the iTunes to the iPod I am being presented with each individual track listed in the Audiobook Menu.
I am using the latest version of iTunes and a iPod Classic 160G-- that I purchased three days ago purposefully for the converting of the audiobooks to a portable device since the Library of Congress  ( NLS BARD ) books are formatted differently and the player is bulky.
Does anybody hav eany other ideas?
Does anybody have an e-mail address for Apple,  preferably iTunes folks?
This is a handicap accessability problem since my wife cannot see and depends on these audio books.
Obviously I will try that link to that Chapter and Verse site and see what I can do.
Thank you for your quick response

  • ITunes plays music, iPod loses some parts of song

I imported a Beatles CD into my iTunes folder and it plays exactly like the CD. Then when I transferred the music into my iPod, I noticed that certain parts (guitar chords, etc.) were missing from the songs.
Can anyone explain what's wrong? I appreciate any help!

Perhaps try the iTunes Store loads partially or returns "Error 306" or "Error 10054" section in the Specific Conditions and Alert Messages: (Mac OS X / Windows) section of the following document:

  • Cut parts from song and import them into the sampler on ipad

How do I cut parts of my song in garageband (ipad) and put them into the sampler to fix the pitch on specific parts of my pre-recorded vocals?
For example, I already have a song I recorded, and I would like to simply cut a few seconds of the vocals, go into the sampler, fix the pitch, and then re-insert the editied piece back into my song.
Is this possible on the ipad? I know that the "autotune" option isn't available on the ipad, but I simply want to fix the pitch on a few notes and I was wondering if there's any way to do that.
If there's not, do you have any suggestions or any app reccomendations that might help me achieve this? I can't afford a macbook pro so that's out of the question.
Sorry if my explination isn't clear! And thanks for any help :]

    Hi,
you should go to PI 7.1 and not PI 7.0 otherwise it makes not so much sense.
And yes it's possible to migrate your scenarios. If you have UDFs you have to check them because the java version has changed.
    Regards

  • TS1424 parts of songs from itunes down loads missing

i have downloaded some purchased songs and only part of the song plays.
after 3-4 minutes of songs ranging from 8-33mins it stops or jumps to next track. there were no error messages when downloading.

  • TS1702 Help. just downed a album and one of the songs only loaded part of song. What do I do?

How and what to do,when only part of a song downloads from Apple store?

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting the incomplete track from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

  • Only imports parts of songs

I just bought Death Magnetic and am trying to import it into iTunes 8 (recently downloaded). Whenever I try, however, only part of certain songs are actually imported. In addition, changing the type of file to import them as (ex. AAC or MP3) affects how the songs are displayed in my library.
For example, importing the album in AAC format lists all the songs in my library, but only 4 of the tracks play for no more than a minute or so each while the rest have a time of 789:57:13. Importing the album in MP3 format only displays the 4 tracks that were partially imported.
Is this copy-protection on the CD itself or a problem with iTunes 8, and how can either be fixed?

Well, you're lucky. At least your machine sees the CD. Mine just spits it back out at me.

  • TS2799 missing parts in songs

i downloaded an alblum and some song have like half if not more of the song missing how can i fix this problem?

Other people have been having similar problems with songs over a number of days, I assume that there has been (and meybe still is) a problem with Apple's servers.
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting those tracks from your iTunes library and redownload them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if they re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find those songs and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

  • IPOD Skipping to a random part  of songs

    Hi people,
I have a 5th generation iPod. Recently since installing the latest patch 1.2.1 I've noticed from time to time, my iPOD while playing a playlist, after completing a song will start the next song, (duh wait for for the problem ) but not from the start of it.
I have been unable to replicate this problem so I am unsure what the cause is. Sometimes it will skip tot he middle part of a song sometimes to the end. Clicking fast forward would skip to a random part of the next song.
Starting the song again will fix it, but I find this annoying as I turn my wheel lock on while playing.
    Anyone know what's going on?
I have tried restoring my iPOD once but that did not fix the problem.
    Regards,
    Bobs_Pizza

Here's how to solve this problem for ALL songs
left click your first song [in your music library]
now scroll down to your last song, hold shift, and left click the last song
right click and click "get info"
click OK after the warning message [for editing multiple files at a time]
disable the "remember playback position" option
connect your iPod, and this should do the trick!
also, your iPod doesn't just remember that option from iTunes, it also remembers your EQ preset for certain songs and also volume adjustment for certain songs [-100% to +100% in case the song is too loud]
