12 month old iphone no service to provider.
hi, not sure if anyone's having the same problem, but my iphone just couldnt connect to my service provider! i'vbe called my service provider and they have confirmed that its not the service problem, i've switched sim cards to another phone and that phone can be connected to my service provider but not m iphone.
i've tried switching on and off my phone, taking out my sim card and replacing it, tried resetting network, and i even updated the software. i just cant think of anymore ideas!
it has never had this problem ever. just recently.
anyone? help?

I have a six months old iPhone 5s that I use and have to use for work purposes, I have for a approximate battery life of seven or eight hours.
I went to the Genius Bar on five occasions and did not receive substantial help. I was told that I would have some applications crashing in the background but was unable to be told which ones they were. The phone is still on the warranty, but it's Apple tells me that it is not the hardware but my usage. I compared it to some of my colleagues and none of them has a battery problem like I do. I feel like I am left with a product that is not stand up to its specifications, and as a customer being totally left alone with a smart phone that does not even last through a workday. Any suggestions how to get through to Apple with this?? I was always very impressed with Apple's customer service and care up until now, obviously. Now Im ready to jump ship...Thought it had worked but soon found out it had not.
after further days of trying finally, solved it for me Yesterday.
turned off notifications when locked, and bingo, wow.
i have not turned off iCloud but location services are also off.
best thing to do I found was keep checking your usage, settings, general, usage, and flip down to bottom, if the standby and usage are similar there is a problem, if there is a big difference then all is ok. Just keep turning things off and on until the difference is very apparent.
something on my phone was keeping the phone alive even when turned off, and I think this was the phone repeatedly trying to update continually.
to me this is definitely down to the iOS, my wife has exactly same phone and iOS but hers doesn't have any problem and the battery lasts for days.
the guy at the Genius Bar told me to restore the phone via iTunes, not iCloud. This is because iCloud remembers the exact info from your phone and simply reinstates it when you restore, and this includes the iOS too.
when I get home from holidays that's what I'll do, or wait for iOS 8 in few weeks. But I'm so pleased I finally made it work, I was beginning to think ditch the phone and buy Samsung.

My 2 month old IPhone started randomly turning on Voice Command and calls people and turns on the IPod. It freezes up and won't let me push the home button. Any suggestions?
OK, I reset it several times and it worked fine all day yesterday. Today when I turned on the bluetooth it went back to the same problem. Voice Control comes on and the home button won't work at all. I have gone through the reset many times and it isn't working. How do I restore firmware as you suggested?

You bought a used iPhone. Amazon is not an authorized supplier of iPhones, nor are any of the 3rd parties that sell iPhones there.
You can make an appointment at the genius bar and have it looked at.
If you are very very lucky, it is still under warranty and it wasn't opened or otherwise tampered with before you bought it. In which case, Apple will replace it under warranty.
If it's not under warranty, they will replace it for $199.
If it has been opened or tampered with, they won't touch it. -
My 4 month old iPhone 5s stopped charging, original cable with adapter works fine on other iphones.
I have tried restarting iPhone while its connected to my macbook pro and when it restarts, I see it starts charging again.
After this, when I plug phone to wall outlet, it works perfectly and charges but next day again it stops charging.Will Apple cover this under warranty if the port is damaged due to unknown reasons as its under 1 yr warranty?
Also, I am out of USA now and would like to know if I can send it through a friend and get it checked out by Apple tech...

The voice of everyone i speak to on my 2 month old iphone 4s sounds like a robot,do i need a new phone.
Try a reset... press the home and sleep/lock buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

tried to update my 14 months old iphone 5 with update ios 8 pressed to start and all ive got is a symbol of the iTunes pic and a USB lead pointing towards it and nothing else for twenty four hours
You are in recovery mode. Restore it through iTunes on your computer.

IOS7 this update has ruined my 3 month old iPhone 5
A year ago I replaced the battery in my old iPhone 4 because the usage time had lowered to around 6.5 hours (that's usage time, not standby). The new battery brought the phone back up to 'new' spec and it gave me 8.5 hours of WiFi web browsing usage time again.
Anyway, I bought a brand new iPhone 5 three months ago and the usage time for WiFi web browsing was 8.5 hours. This was perfectly acceptable. I have now updated to iOS7 and my WiFi web browsing usage time is now 6 hours. That is worse than my old iPhone 4 with a two year old battery!
Two clean installs, setting up as a new phone and switching off parallax, location services, background app refresh, app store automatic updates etc have only permitted me to achieve 6 hours of WiFi web browsing before my battery is fully drained. Now call me a cynic but is this 'update' just designed to make all the old products obsolete so that everyone upgrades to an iPhone 5S?? My phone was the Apple flagship not one week ago!If you are in the US ,some Apple genius bars are replacing screens at this time if your local store isn't offering that service or you are not in the US there will be an out of warranty exchange unit for $229
make sure you back up everything as if you exchange your iPhone will go and the Genius bar do not provide a backup service -
My 2 month old iPhone 4 will not turn on?
My phone will not move past apple logo, shuts down immediately even when plugged in to wall charger or USB on laptop. Was 100% charged before it shut down! It was acting a bit funny/slow yesterday afternoon - shutting down with lines across screen. Now is completely dead. Tried hard reset - no result. Phone was not dropped or wet. I keep it in an otter box. ??? Only two months old so very frustrated - do I take it to Verizon or apple? Call apple support?
You could have gotten a battery replacement from apple for $70. Instead, you've forfeited your ability to get the entire phone replaced for only $149.
The iPhone is not user servicable. It could still very well be the battery. It may also be something else.
There are no legitimate sources for iPhone parts as Apple does not sell parts. The ONLY possible sources for the battery in your phone are:
a) counterfeit
b) stolen
c) salvaged from a non-working phone.
As I already said, take it back to wherever you took it to get the battery replaced or buy a new phone. -
That is just the most recent problem. Other problems are the screen freezes all the time, and it won't scroll or do anything. Another is my keyboard lags as I type. another problem, is with some of my apps are constantly crashing. And It is not the apps itself per se, because my friends can be using the same app, and they are fine. Another would be emails not pushing. I will have some emails that show up, some will say I have new emails, but open to check and nothing there. Then other times i will have like 17 emails all show up at once, with some being sent days before. Another problem is my Wifi turns itself off all the time. Even when I am sitting less than 10 feet away from the router. And When I add new contacts, they are visible for a few days, then all the sudden they are nowhere to be found. Sometimes it will at least save the number in my contacts, and no name or other info. And other times it doesn't save anything. These are just a few of the many problems.
Because I got this phone shortly after the new IOS7 update, I thought since I had read about problems others were having after updating, may have been the reason I was having some initial problems. But they have only grown to more problems, and not getting better.
Has anyone else had these same problems? Do I just have a bad phone? If you have had any of these problems, were you able to get a fix and how? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
ThanksI have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.

I bought this iphone 5 in Globe Telecome in the Philippines one month ago. I amvery worried coz of all the device here in our house this just the only one who can't connect to our home wifi. Even in our neighbors wifi. All our devices ipod 4 and 4s and laptop can connect except this iphone 5. I did all the trouble shooting but still it didn't work. Pls help me. I went to globe and it seems they can't help me with it. Is this covered by my warranty? Tnx

Your log shows that graphic drivers have crashed, but there aren't any third-party extensions installed on your computer, so I suspect that there's a problem with the graphic card. I recommend you to take the Mac to an Apple Store to check if there's a hardware issue -
Screen starting to fail, 2 and a half months old iPhone 5
Hello, I'm from Brazil and I really don't get many help with my problems around here, so I figured it would be better to post it here, I've bought my iPhone 5 in the USA by december 2012, used it very well, always taking care so that it wouldn't break, after about 1 year and a half the screen started to fail and not much after it just became all spotted, I don't really know how to explain, so, as the warranty had expired already I went to an licensed apple reseller in Sao Paulo, paid R$ 900,00 and after a few weeks, got a new one, but now this new one is starting to have the same problem the old one had, tomorrow is the last day of it's warranty as after you get a new one the warranty only lasts for 3 months, I'd really like to know if there is any way to contact apple so that they can help me out with that, because to get a new iPhone it takes about 2 ~ 4 weeks here in Brazil, and I'm travelling this wednesday, so that's a real problem. Anyways, never had any jailbreak or anything, so I don't know why this keeps happening to me (never seen this happen to a friend either), any help is really welcome, thanks guys.
PS.: I take a lot of care of this phone as it's REALLY expansive in Brazil, so it's very hard to drop it, only did it once or twice.I noticed Mike's post about podcasting tech specs disappeared too. I suspect that may mean some changes are in the works. Have you looked at the feed file for one of the newer entries and compared it to your files? Do you have a valid e-mail address in your XML Author field? Apple appears to sending out alerts to authors with errors in their submissions. -
I purchased iPhone 5 for Virgin Mobile USA 2 months ago. This morning while checking weather app it just died. The phone has no water damage and was never dropped. I tried every single trick that I know and I could research online to bring it back but no success:
I left it charging for about 3 hours, and tried to boot it up but nothing. I tried to hold power and home button for 30 sec then just power then just home buttons but nothing. I tried to toggle the mute/vibe button 2, 3, 4 times and hold home and power button but nothing again. The only thing I didn't try is to connect it to a computer with iTunes since I'm on vacation and didn't bring my laptop with me. Basically by now I just gave up on it. Does anybody know any other ways that I don't list above? Will Apple Store replace it for a new one right on the spot or will I have to wait for them to send me one? How does that work? Would they have a brand new Virgin Mobile USA iPhone in the store?Nothing works Tonefox believe me. It doesn't take apple genius to hold one button or the other or both at once until the logo appears. The phone is dead! If you know something no one else knows on this apple forum please share it, otherwise don't waist my time.
