12" PB can't connect to new AEBS
I just upgraded my AEBS from the older 'UFO' model to the newest model. I have security set up as WPA/WPA2. My 12" PowerBook 867MHz running 10.3.9 cannot connect now, even if I turn network security off. Is this model PB incompatible with the new AEBS?
Thanks!
Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't create a new user, but I used another user on the PB. That one was also unable to connect, so I copied com.apple.airport.preferences.plist to the desktop and deleted the old one. That still didn't fix the problem, so I checked the password stored in the keychain. Since I reused the old network name from my old AEBS, there was an entry there, with the old password. I changed the password and was able to connect after two attempts (the first resulted in a message that the base station didn't support the security I had chosen - WPA).
I then switched to the primary user and tried deleting the airport keychain entry. This still did not allow me to connect, so I deleted apple.airport.preferences.plist again. This still did not allow me to connect. In frustration I clicked 'Try Again' three more times, and then I was able to connect!
This is still a little weird - if I disconnect and then try to reconnect, I get the error message. If I click 'try again' a few times I am able to connect! This is still not a 100% solution but at least I can get on the network.
Thanks for your help!

IBook g3 and iMacg5 can't connect to new AEBS
Hi,
Having trouble getting my two macs to acquire the signal from my new AEBS. Did the setup via ethernet and everything appears ok. I can connect with ethernet connected but not wirelessly. ibook has airport card imac AE card. All worked well with AXP about an hour ago. help. I convinced my wife this was the way to go and now I'm hearing it...I got the iBook working. My problem was twofold. I named the AEBS the same name as my AXP. Bad idea. Renamed and cleared out my "preferred networks" on the iBook. The AEBS setup was flawless and the iBook immediately acquired the network. The iMac still will not but that is nothing new. I truly believe the iMac has serious receptivity issues. I've been having this issue since we got it two years ago. The forums are full if people having the same issues. SO I'll be hooking the iMac up with an ethernet cable... Not optimum but workable.
Just for the record, I have opened up the iMac and reseated the Airport Xtreme card, TWICE. Either the card is faulty (it was factory installed, originally, by the way) or the connection is bad. -

Can't connect my new iPhone 4 with internet via Time Capsule. IP4 recognized TC but will not connect with it. (Password etc. is ok)
Do the usual wireless things.
Change the wireless name to simple name with only alphanumerics and no spaces.
Set to manual and use channels 1, 6, 11 in turn.
For testing take off the security altogether.
The iphone only works on 2.4ghz so only that band is relevant. -

By the way, there are literally hundreds of online fax services, some of them quite reasonable in prices. I have to tell you that faxes have become antiquated for business purposes. If you have a scanner, emailing a pdf file is easier to read. But if you just must fax it, just scan it, then you can use an online fax company.
I have to admit that I'm in business, and I have a fax machine that I haven't used in 2 years. It's just a printer/scanner. Even attorneys now only require signature pages to be faxed, but now you scan and email that.
I agree with this, but some businesses are still antiquated.... such as certain schools you may want to send transcripts to or certian states that need supplements to your tax return filing. There are definately still a few occasional reasons why someone might need to fax something.
I'm not sure where you're located, but in this country you're not allowed to send your own transcripts to colleges. And you're not allowed to file taxes by fax (because they need to be machine readable). But we can do most of it online, unless it's highly complex.
I read an article that if you're looking for a job in high technology and your resume has a fax number on it, employers almost always automatically reject you.
Anyways, I wasn't criticizing, I was just saying that giving you an alternative to an expensive solution.

Hi,
I have a Ipod Touch that I have an apple ID for and have set up on my MAC OS with Itunes and all that jazz.
I however fully admit I know very little about properly using Itunes especially when I get new Ipods. Case and Point = I have 6 different Ipod versions and have never known how to transfer the music from any on of them to a new one or add it to one library because one time when plugging in a Ipod nano I lost everything off my other ipod nano and my library and it all just didn't work out well.
Now I have another Ipod Touch. I learned that you should use the same apple id for a new Ipod-thats something new I didn't know. The others are under Id's and emails I don't even remember honestly. Not sure how I'll ever fix that.
I've read about 2 user accounts. Get stuck with something about a key on my mac wanting authorization when I had two accounts, so thats just out.
I've read about 2 libraries, but do not really understand the process & have not gotten anywhere with the pressing option while opening ITunes-Do I have to have my second touch plugged in first? That doesn't seem right.
My Main question, well, one of em: I set up the second touch with same Apple ID but I have not attached to my Mac Because I am afraid of whatever may happen. So: Will my Mac say "Hey, what's this Second ipod and what's your purpose kinda deal?" or Will it replace my other ipod and wipe it blank, my Mac then saying some other choice words to me about the attempt of two ipods. . .?
So-My Goal here: When I open ITunes or it opens when connected to one of the touches (at this point I've lost hope on the other ipods for now) how do I make it so that under devices it shows the names of Two Different Ipods-I did name them differently if that matters. And How then do I make the Mac know which touch I connect or will it just Know by the powers that be? And How Can I Split some of the data from my 1st touch to my 2nd touch? And Add new data to one or the other or both.
My No Logic behind it Easy idea I wonder of: Can I just connect the new Blank touch in to my mac that already has a touch with Data on it, both under the same email and apple id, and have nothing go wrong? Will my Mac set it up like a new ipod and list it as a new one under devices ? ? Then Ask another question on how to transfer some of my data from one to the other in another Incredibly Long post, such as this?
Sharing between the two (and maybe the others later one): I only have 1 MAC so the whole home share doesn't seem to help me here. But I've read of familys-whole families!-having multiple ipod users, I'm guessing under the same apple ID? ? ? I don't really know, anyway, and they can sync the data from one area, or different libraries for each. HOW? And what's best for me to do, or rather, since you see how little I understand of this entire process, which method do you think I can actually complete without messing something or everything up?:)
Any help here would be great. I sincerely apologize if this is a repeat and I just don't get the other questions or answers. I'd just really like to figure this out so that my 6 other Ipods from past years with complete music libraries and forever unseen photos -once they had a camera-yeah, it goes back that far . . . It'd be nice to actually have all that back, or at least accessible without fear that it'll all disappear. What would happen if I connnected an Ipod nano that I think has another apple ID to my MAC? Would Itunes like fizz out and banish my touch or something? Yeah, I need help. I can use em. . .does not mean you have to be smarter than the device apparently. Well, its Itunes that really just doesn't get along with me or my devices I think. . .Thank you for any ideas on simplifying this all for me.Just connect the new iPod to your computer and setup the iPod via iTunes (instead of via wifi).

IPhone 3 can not connect to new nets
Hi, I have an iPhone 3 and it has the problem that whenever I want to connect to a new wifi point access I introduce the correct password and the device says "It is not possible to connect to "NETNAME"" though my iPhone is near to the point access router, it is so near that I even put the device next to the router. This problem didn't happen before, I was able to connect for example to my university's wifi or office's wifi. They changed their nets, so I had to connect again for the first time and then it would be automatic to connect, but I can not connect for that first time, although the net is similar to the mentioned before. What can be the problem? PD: I can connect to my house wifi's but my device has to be really near to the router, its signal caption is really poor.
IPhone 3 G can only connect to Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g.
Maybe because of that since you have no problem connecting to your home wi-fi. -
F4580 and can't connect to new modem/router
This printer was working ok with the old router but won't connect with new modem/router.
Yup, this is expected. You will have to re-install the printer. Get the latest software for your printer from the "Support & Drivers" link at the top of this page, run the installation and choose "Wireless" or "Network" when it asks. You will have to temporarily use a USB cable to communicate with the printer.

Windows 7 laptop can't connect to new Airport Extreme.
I had a NetGear router, but got fed up of not being able to use all of my devices, so I bought the AirPort Extreme and use the NetGear as a modem (wireless turned off). Our iPads, iPhones, Macbook, Windows Vista laptop and desktop all connect fine, but I can't get the Windows 7 laptop to connect, even by ethernet.
It has connected but drops the connection intermittently and then sometimes it fails to get a connection at all. It can see the AirPort, but says it can't connect. This happens paticulalry if the laptp has been left to hibernate.
I have installed the AirPort utility and I have turned off the power option that turns off the wireless card. I have done all of the Windows updates, and I have updated the drivers from the manufacturer website.
Any ideas? (Don't say use the Mac, this is my sister's computer, not mine!!)
Thanks. Thanks for clarifying. If you don't mind, let's double-check your extended-network setup configuration:
o Open AirPort Utility and select the Time Capsule (TC), and then, choose Manual Setup from the Base Station menu.
o Click AirPort in the toolbar, and then, click Wireless.
o Verify that both “Create a wireless network” from the Wireless Mode pop-up menu and “Allow this network to be extended” checkbox are selected.
o Next, select the 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn), and then, choose Manual Setup from the Base Station menu.
o Verify that “Extend a wireless network” has been selected from the Wireless Mode pop-up menu. Also verify that the correct Network Name is shown for the network you want the AEBSn to extend.
Do your settings match these? -

My router's IP is 192.168.123.254 but if I ping that address or I try to connect to the web interface on that address to configure the router I can't get any connection... I've also tried to specify all paramaters directly in rc.conf (eth0="eth0 192.168.123.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.123.255") but that didn't help neither.
I'm kind of out of ideas on how to solve this... I hope someone here will help me getting out of windows (the only OS on my pc with internet FTM).I'm so stupid... I should've thought about iptables... I'm reconfiguring them now, thank you very much!

How can I connect my new LG Sound Bar NB 3531A with my MacBook Pro Mid 2010 via Bluetooth
Hey,
bought a new sound bar and want to connect it to my MacBook Pro. When start pairing an error shows up telling me to check the Bluetooth range and so on. When I try to connect without a code (0000) there is a connection but it´s not possible to use the bar as a stereo headset in the bluetooth menue.
The Sound Bar should be ready to play because I can use it with my iPhone and on Win-notebooks.B
There are no system-updates availabe and I´m using OSX 10.8.4. Can someone help?
Best wishes from Germany
HolliHollsenIt seems that my bluetooth driver crashed or anything. Tried it with an other MacBook and worked fine. Called the Apple- and LG-Support.
The Apple-Supporter told my to reinstall my OS X. Crashed. I´ll start a complete new installation today. -
Can't connect brand new iPod touch 4th gen to iTunes, please help!
I just got a new iPod touch, 16 gig 4th generation. I'm going through the setup process. Once I get to the option to connect through a network, I hit a problem. My internet at home requires a MAC address to be "invited" into the network before I can connect, however I can't get the MAC address until I complete setup!
So I choose the "Connect to iTunes" option instead. My computer recognizes that there is an iPod connected to it, but iTunes won't pick it up. There is nothing under "Devices".
What do I do?? ):I just retried a step I missed earlier in the articles before and ran into a problem here:
#5 Verify that the apple mobile devi usb driver is installed
> for windows 7
> if the apple mobile device usb driver is not listed
> if only Apple iPod appears
> for windows 7
I went through all these steps until #8: Click OK in the "Install from Disk" dialog. At this point it tries to load for a bit and I get this message:
"Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device.
Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it. (Apple Mobile Device USB Driver)
Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37)"
As for your reply, I did indeed already try removing and reinstalling all the Apple programs with unfortunately no effect.
When I do the sync test, I get that one or more things failed: iTunes Helper not running and No iPod found. -
Can I connect my new MacBook Air to my USB external hard drive?
Can any of the ports on a new MacBook Air (USB3 or thunderbolt) connect by cable to an external hard drive that's old-style USB? Thanks!
Yes, the USB port is a combination USB2/USB3. Should work fine.
