1200 DPI Driver for Laserjet 5000 ?

Fellow Forum Members.
What in the world is going on with HP Printer Drivers no longer supporting the 1200 DPI output capability of my LaserJet 5000?  I can no longer use the original printer driver CD which supported 1200 DPI output because this CD is no longer compatible with Windows7 64bit.  Therefore,  I have tried all of the drivers listed below in an effort to get my LaserJet 5000 1200 DPI output capability back with no success:
HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PostScript  6.0.0.18849
HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL6  6.0.0.18849
HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL5  5.9.0.18326
Windows driver update to get Microsoft version of HP printer driver. Still no 1200 DPI output
Xerox Global Print Driver 5.404.8.0_PCL6_x64.exe
Xerox Global Print Driver 5.404.8.0 Postscript x64.exe
Can anyone out there please share with me what is the correct driver I need to install for the purpose of getting my 1200 DPI output capability back on my LaserJet 5000.  It will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Does any one out there have any comment on how to get my LaserJet 5000 back to printing 1200 DPI output?  All of the drivers I have tested seem to limit print output quality to 600 DPI.  That is half of what my LaserJet 5000 is capable of handling.  Any comment will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

  • Windows 7 driver for LaserJet P1006

I am having great difficulty locating a valid driver for my HP LaserJet P1006 printer that will make it function with Windows 7 (64-bit).  My printer functions perfectly with Windows Vista (32-bit).  Does anyone know if and where a driver for Windows 7 (64-bit) is available, or if one will be available for download soon?  If so, when?  Thank you for your expertise.

The HP product page says the full function driver for WIndows 7 64bit will be available soon:

  • Where can I find a 10.5.8 driver for Laserjet 400 m401dne printer?

I'm running OS 10.5.8 on a G5 desktop (tower), and I just bought a LaserJet Pro 400 M401dne and connected it to this Mac with a usb cable. The Mac will print to it using a generic postscript driver automatically chosen by the OS. There is no driver for the LaserJet 400 on the list of drivers available in the OS.
The installer disk for the printer doesn't offer any driver installation for 10.5.8. It just says that the DVD software won't work with this version of the Mac OS.
This printer is capable of doing duplex (double-sided) printing, which is the main reason I bought this printer, but I am not given that option in any of the dialogue boxes for the printer when I hit PRINT. Apparently the generic postscript driver doesn't recognize the duplex printing feature of the printer. As a result I cannot print on both sides of a page.
I went to the HP website and could not find a LaserJet 400 driver for OS 10.5, nor do I see any driver for it on the Apple website. The free Gutenprint driver utility lists many LaserJet models, but not the 400.
Does anyone know where I might find a driver for this LaserJet 400 that will enable it to do double-sided printing in OS 10.5.8?
    Tom

You solved the problem, BDAqua! I downloaded the driver for the LaserJet 500 from the HP website, as you suggested, and I found that it runs my LaserJet 400! And now I have the double-sided printing capability that I wanted. I just now printed out some double-sided pages to prove it.
I never even considered that a driver for a different HP printer might run this one, but it does. It offers options for printing color that this printer does not have, since the HP 400 is only a black-and-white (or grayscale) printer, and the driver thinks it is running a color printer, but I can simply ignore those.
So the HP Color LaserJet 500 driver for OS 10.5.8 is able to run the HP LaserJet 400 monochrome printer. Whodathunk!
Other HP LaserJet 400 owners running 10.5.8 take note!
    Thank-you very much BDAqua!

  • Windows Server 2008 driver for LaserJet 4100 with envelope printer

I have a new Windows 2008 Server 32 and a handful of HP printers.  I need a driver for the LaserJet 4100 with an envelope feeder.  The universal driver doesn't appear to recognize (or give an option to find) the envelope feeder.  The old drivers I used on the previous server won't install on the 2008 box.
I can;t be the only person with an envelope feeder on this machine. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction?
    Thanks

Can anyone suggest an alternate driver for a Mac Mini (OS X v10.4.11) to print on a LaserJet PRO MFP M127fw ?

    Hi @suckerfish1,
I understand that you are looking for drivers for the 10.4 to use with the LaserJet PRO MFP M127fw. I can help you with this.
Unfortunately 10.4, isn't a supported operating system, there are no drivers available.
Here are the Supported Mac OS X operating systems: Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard, OS X v10.7 Lion, OS X v10.8 Mountain Lion.
HP LaserJet Pro MFP M127fw and Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw Printers Product Specifications.
You would have to upgrade to 10.6 or get another Laserjet that supports 10.4.
    Have a nice day!

  • Can anyone tell me if there is a new printer software/driver for Laserjet 1300 for Windows 7 64-bit?

I recently replaced my 2 Windows XP Media Center computers.  I have a new Desktop with Windows 7 Ultimate and a Laptop that has Windows 7 Professional.  I have an HP Laserjet 1300 printer that I would like to connect with my desktop.  This printer still works.  Keeping it would save me money.  Can anyone give me the link to the Laserjet 1300 software/driver for Windows 7 64-bit?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Need to download driver for Laserjet 4v. Can anyone tell me where I can obtain it?

I had to have my desktop reloaded & Windows XP no longer has the "plug & play" driver for the HP Laserjet 4v. HP apparently no longer has the driver which I find unusual. I need to know where I can download a copy or have someone attach it to an email ([email protected]). If anyone can help, I would be grateful.
    Thanks, Julian

Here is a good link to where the driver is located. There appears to be a bad link to the normal way to find it.
    Best regards,

  • I need driver for laserjet 4000n windows 7 64 bit

When I try to install my Laserjet 4000N printer on my HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC running windows 7 64 bit I am prompted to select windows update. The response is always "Windows was unabl;e to get a list of devices from Windows update. Try again later"
When I go to the HP site and try to download the driver i get a message "You do not need to download drivers for this product. Print drivers for your product are available within the Windows 7 operating system. Use Devices and Printers, formerly known as the Add Printer Wizard, to obtain the Windows 7 update. For more information,  go to Install the Printer Driver through the Windows 7 Operating System"
A perfect Catch 22. What do I do now?

This seems to be a commercial product. For the best chance at finding a solution I would suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support!

  • Win7 print driver for laserjet fails on my mini 311 netbook

Win7 driver doesn't work with my laserjet 2100. Tried the several drivers (i.e., generic, vista's, etc). It loads the driver (or so it says), but when the printer is accessed, it errors. When I go into the printer console, it tells me "...print driver is not installed.." I go to device manager, and the driver is named, and seems that it is installed. Very frustrating.
(I'm connecting across my local network to a print server). I have several other PC's running 2000, XP, and Vista with no problems. So what is going on with Windows 7 and printers???????  !@#$%^&*

Good to see that someone else with a 2100 is having problems.  I've been working on this for about a week and got nowhere. HP has a new set of drivers that are supposed to install the printers. Try using the one for PCL 5.
I will start a new thread with my own problem.
    Cheers.

  • Windows 10 driver for Laserjet CP1215

Having issues with my Laserjet CP1215 printer under Windows 10 preview. I am able to print locally but cannot connect successfully using a windows share over my local network. Are there any updated drivers for this printer and Windows 10?

I'm having a similar issue. CP1215 is connected to Win7 machine but I am unable to access it from my Win10 machine. I can see the printer but when I try to connect I get a driver error. I will check for updated drivers as recommended. Thanks,

  • Unable to print envelopes with latest HP driver for LaserJet 4

In April I downloaded the latest HP drivers for my HP LaserJet 4 to reinstall following work on my computer.
First I was just unable to print envelopes.
I redownloaded and had same results
I have uninstalled and re-installed a number of times.
I tried a "chat" with HP that went nowhere.
I was on hold for over an hour last night -- only to be told that I should email a request for assistance. Fat Chance! Try it!
I still have the manual from when it was new. It had no answer except a Customer Service phone number which has long been shut down.
The present condition is that I am unable to print anything.
Customer Service is a sick myth.

Hello, DP Photo, sounds like a scanning issue with the software. To start I want you to completely remove the software and then reinstall the programming from the packages available on the website I am going to link you to below. Use the full-feature software if available.

  • Need updated driver for laserJet 4250DTN

Does anyone know where to go?  HP's webiste seems to have nothing but dead links when i try to go to support and drivers.  I logged directly into the FTP server but they don't exactly make searching for it on the FTP server easy.
After trying to use HP chat support they stated that HP's web server is down and to just try later.

    Hi jameshinkle,
I suspect your question would be better answered in the HP Enterprise Business Community,  as the HP LaserJet 4250dtnsl Printer is a commercial model.
My technical expertise is with consumer products and software, I am sure the commercial folks would be happy to help if you re-post your question for them to answer. The HP Enterprise Business Community is an HP Forum designed for the Commercial and Enterprise customers to help one another. I am sure you will find some HP folks there to help too.
Click here to view the Printing and Digital Imaging.  When the page opens you will see the option to 'Log in' or 'Register Now' on the right. The commercial forums are separate from the consumer boards, thus you will need to register if you don't already have a commercial account.
You may find the HP LaserJet 4250dtnsl Printer support page helpful while you wait for somebody in the commercial Forum to respond to your inquiry.
    Best of luck.

  • Updating printer driver for laserjet 2100tn

I have recently updated my Mac Mini (PawerPC) to an iMac with Lion. HP says that the printer driver update is through Apple, and nothing I do seems to call the Print/Scan dialog to notice it. Thoughts?
    David

The printer may not be supported by Lion, if it's still supported the update will come from software updates. Just plug the printer straight into the iMac just run software updates and if there's any available it will pop up.
