1202 Error on Mac OSX 10.6.8?

Question

Trying to make a purchase on Itunes and am gettting, "The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be “p12-buy.itunes.apple.com”, which could put your confidential information at risk."  Then it says "1202 error" Am running Mac OS X 10.6.8 Any help or suggestions???

Found this on another board, looks like we need to upgrade to at least OSX10.7 or later. This is too bad since I have a cad program that won't run on 10.7 and is not supported on 10.7.:
iTunes requirements

          •          OS X version 10.6.8 or later
