12c Agent on Solaris 10 version earler than u9?

Was wondering if anyone has had a positive experience running the 12c agent on Solaris 10 version older than the one that is certified (u9). I have fully patched up Solaris 10 u4 and u8 servers servers here and cannot justify upgrading to u9 just to accomodate an agent.

Hello,
I've found a workaround to solve the problem.
On the target server a temporary installation directory was created containing the agentDeploy.sh script.
Inside this script there are several java calls and some are missing the information to run as 64-bit.
I've changend the rows where the flag "-d64" was missing:
..../java -d64 -classpath....
and then I've made a retry from EM 12c.
And it works successfully.
Have a nice day!

  • Unable to deploy 12c agent on Solaris 10 / Sparc

    Hello everyone.
I'm currently evaluating the new Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c and have it installed on Solaris 11 (x86-64).
Now I want to deploy agents on some Solaris 10 ( Sparc64 ) server. The software is transferred and then the agentDeploy.sh script is executed but it always failed with accessing objects with the wrong ELFCLASS.
    I receive the following error:

  • What is the cpu architeture of solaris version of BPEL bundle, x86 or SPARC

    Hello,
I'd like to know what is the cpu architeture of solaris version of BPEL bundle, x86 or SPARC located here: http://download.oracle.com/otn/solaris/ias/1012/as_sun_bpel_101200.cpio
The file is more than 400Mb in size, so I need to know before downloading.
    Thanks.

    hi,
are there any plans to release it for x86 (32 bit) platform. I'm also interested in testing beta versions of oracle software (specifically bpel, jdeveloper) on solaris 10 x86 platform, is there any beta CD available for these purposes?
    thanks.

  • Install Nagios agents on Solaris 10 to monitor from RHEL 5

    Hi,
Could anyone let me know the steps to be followed to install Nagios agents on Solaris 10 for monitoring from RHEL5. It is very urgent please help me.
    Thanks
    Rao

    Hi Sugunakar,
There are a few small things I can think of checking:
I am trying to install SMC on solaris 10What version of Solaris 10 are you using? You need 11/06 (aka "Update 3") or later. Also, it looks like this is on a V210: how much memory and swap do you have ([requirements here|http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-2215/deployment-72?l=en&a=view])? And have you [edited your /etc/project file|http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/820-2216/chapter2-1000?l=en&a=view] to adjust the shared memory settings?
Have you applied any of the [patch sets|http://forums.halcyoninc.com/showthread.php?t=104]?
smcdatabase service is always in maintenance mode.It would be interesting to see what that service log says. Look in /var/svc/log/application-management-sunmcdatabase:default.log for clues.
/var/opt/SUNWsymon/install/guibased-setup.1285765588453.sh: /var/opt/SUNWsymon/db/data/SunMC/pg_hba.conf: cannot createIs there any reason why SunMC may not be able to write to /var (or /var/opt/SUNWsymon)? Maybe portions of /var are read-only (shared from a global zone, or over NFS)?
I've done a lot of SunMC pilot projects over the years: if you could use some help speeding up your eval just send me an email.

  • OEM 12c for Sun Solaris?

    Hello,
I received this question from a customer:
"It appears to me that [12c] agents are available for all the platforms we need (HP-UX Itanium, Sun Solaris, and AIX 5/6). However, the OMS/repository looks like it’s only released for Linux.
    So, questions:
    · Am I reading that correctly?
    · If I am, do you know when we could expect to have the OMS/repository released for Sun Solaris?
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/oem/grid-control/downloads/index.html"
Can anyone tell me if 12c is FULLY available for Sun Solaris?
    Thanks!

From what I can see on the Certifications page in Oracle Support, agents and OMS are only available for Linux for 12c. I don't know where your customer got the information regarding the other OS support.
Go to support.oracle.com and click on the Certifications tab, then select "Enterprise Manager Base Platform - Agent" in the "Product" drop-down, 12.1.0.1.0 in the "Release" drop-down, leave the platform as "Any" and click "Search". The only 2 operating systems shown are Linux x86 and Linux x86-64.

  • OEM 12c agent -  target name for oracle_home incorrect

We have a question re: the OEM agent.
Why would the target name for oracle_home be different than the hostname that the agent is running on?
In this case, the agent target name is sometimes the same as the hostname, as this:

Please see the following doc for instructions on deinstalling an EM 12c agent. An EM 12c agent has its own Oracle home, so uninstalling it will not affect other Oracle products on the host.

  • I need to revert to a Firefox version earlier than 30 for my business.

To bill BCBS as a mental health provider I am required to use a Firefox version earlier than 30. Please help!!! I am having trouble de-installing the latest version and can't install the older version that I used to use with no problem. Too bad BCBS requires this.
    Thanks!

You can try to spoof the user agent to see if that works.

Can I install the online version rather than using my dvd? it successfully installed (up to a point) that way, it just wont accept my serial number for some reason. my dvd isnt working properly.

If it gets far enough to reject your serial number, it won't help to download it. It must have installed ok.
What is the message you get (DON'T tell us the serial number!!)?
Does it mention a "qualifying product" by any chance?

  • SAP Conversion Agent Studio Preview Version

    Hi,
Does anyone have knowledge about SAP Conversion Agent Studio Preview Version?
I've downloaded it from SDN and it says it comes with an Eclipse version, but i doesnt.
When i try to point it to my existing Eclipse it says it needs version 2.1.2 oe 2.1.3. of Eclipse, but these are quite old. They can be downloaded from a 2004 archive site. (?)
Are there newer version of the SAP Conversion Agent Studio Preview Version?
    Any suggestions are welcome.
    Thx

    Hi Conversion Agent experts,

  • 12c Agent causes abrt full crash report on OEL 6.4 (64 bit)

We have a brand new server that we've installed OEL 6.4 x86_64 on with Oracle 11.2.0.3 and the 12c agent. Periodically I'm getting the following ABRT (Automatic Bug Report Tool) whenever the agent tries to run the "chkconfig --list" command. The oracle account does not have permission to execute the chkconfig command (that's the account the agent process is running under), however the agent periodically is trying to execute that for whatever reason.
Is there something I missed when I setup the oracle account?
Here's the top section of the abrt full crash report
    abrt_version: 2.0.8
    cgroup:
    cmdline: /sbin/chkconfig --list
    executable: /sbin/chkconfig
    kernel: 2.6.39-400.17.1.el6uek.x86_64
    pid: 63387
    pwd: /opt/oracle/agent12c/agent_inst/sysman/emd
time: Thu 30 May 2013 04:22:36 PM EDT
    uid: 500
    username: oracle

I opened a SR on Tuesday of last week. My frustration level rose when their suggestion was to change permissions on the directories underneath /etc so the oracle account could do the “chkconfig –list”.
Changing permissions on core Linux directories isn't an acceptable answer for me. I was hoping someone else had run into this same problem and another solution.

  • If I purchase lightroom but want to install on both a pc and a mac is that possible from just a download version rather than ordering a disc?

If I purchase lightroom but want to install on both a pc and a mac is that possible from just a download version rather than ordering a disc?

Yes, a single serial number can be used to install on two computers and one can be a PC and one a Mac.   The download will be a different installer for each platform but the serial number should activate both.

  • Several Solaris Versions(2.6,7,8) on the same disk. Possible ?

    Hello folks!
I hope someone will be able to help me here. I've been after this problem
    for weeks now!
    Here it is:
for testing purposes I need to install Solaris 2.6, 7, and 8 on the same
    machine (Ultra 2 enterprise).
I started with the installation of 2.6 with the following partitions
    configuration:
    - c0t0d0s0 root for Solaris 2.6
    - c0t0d0s5 root for Solaris 7
    - c0t0d0s6 root for Solaris 8
    - c0t0d0s7 /home for all Solaris versions
The installation of 2.6 went fine and the system runs without problems.
However when I did the installations of the other two versions (7 and 8), I
configured manually the file system during installation and, of course, I
chose to preserve the existing installations. I also chose not to change the
    default boot partition(c0t0d0s0).
The installation didn'T show any problem, but at the OpenBoot (OK prompt),
    only the
    OK boot disk
works. I assumed I had to boot partition 5 and 6 doing:
    OK boot disk5
    or
    OK boot disk6
but it doesn't work. I assume there is some other setting I skipped, or some
    wrong configuration.
    Thanks a lot,
    Pietro
PS Only the first partition c0t0d0s0 starts within the first Giga Byte. This
    might be the problem ?

    Hi ,
First check if the other OS are properly installed in the other partition. You can boot the system in 2.6 and mount the other partitions and see the directory structure. It is also good to use the same swap space for all the other OS.
At the OBP, disk0 or disk5 are the alias name for the device names. Each of the partition has a device name. At the OBP the device name for the disk can be obtained from the command:
    ok>show-disks
    or
    ok>show-devs
On an Ultra 2 it would look something like this:
    /sbus@1f,0/SUNW,fas@e,8800000/sd@0,0
The partitions are represented as alphabets, where "a" would represent partition 0, "b" for partition 1
so for the disk0 or the first disk and partition 4 would be:
    /sbus@1f,0/SUNW,fas@e,8800000/sd@0,0:e
and partition 5 on disk1 or 2nd disk as:
    /sbus@1f,0/SUNW,fas@e,8800000/sd@1,0:f
The device name can also be found by bootiing is Solaris 2.6 and using the command "format"
If you want to give alias name for the different partitions at the OBP so that you do not have to write the whole path of the device again, you can use the command "nvalias" at OBP
    ok> nvalias <alias name> <the device path>
    eg.
    ok> nvalias sol8 /sbus@1f,0/SUNW,fas@e,8800000/sd@0,0:g
Please refer to http://docs.sun.com for more details on these commands
    I hope that would help.
    Regards

  • OEM10 agent on Solaris 10?

    I can't install OEM10 R2 agent on Solaris 10.
Any way to get around it?
When the authentic agent be released for Solaris10?
    Thanks

I was able to get the agent installed with some minor difficultly. However, the agent was not uploading any meaningful information. The only target that showed up in the Grid Control was the agent itself. So it was able to upload some information. The agent was just not discovering anything else about Oracle databases or the system itself.
