  • 64 bit OEL install hangs at installing dogtail in OVM 2.2

I recently upgraded my server to OVM 2.2 and swapped out the dual core AMDs to quad core AMDs at the same time.
Since then I have been unable to create any 64 bit OEL servers. In every instance the install hangs when Installing dogtail-0.6.1-2.el5.noarch
This used to work at 2.1.5 and I can deploy the existing templates, but they are OEL 5.3.

    2 new updates
    1) I get the same errors when trying a command line install
    2) I can successfully create fully virtualised VMs
So if all else fails I can create fully virtualised VMs and then convert them, which is a bit of a pain but will at least give me working templates.

  • When installing itunes 10.5.1 for win 7 64 bit get message that installer is 32 bit.

Atempted to install itunes 10.5.1 for Win 7 64 bit. Receive dialog box that the installer is 32 bit. Points me to an address in Apple for Bonjour Print Services for Windows. After clickin on OK the install proceeds but Itunes will not start.
Itunes has also reformated the library so an older version of itunes can nolonger read the file.

I got the same message about the network resource that I can't access.  The only difference is that I couldn't install Itunes 10.3 because I can't remove the old version of Bonjour.  I couldn't get rid of anything in add/remove programs, but I went into my program folders and deleted everything that had to do with Itunes.  I also ran a Windows Cleanup Utiltiy.  Nothing will work.  I still can't remove Itunes, Bonjour, Quicktime, MobileMe Control Panel, Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Application Support, or Apple Software Update in add/remove programs because they are on a network resource that I can't access even though I deleted them from the program folders.  This is very frustrating!

few things you can check :
    a) Is there a password file ? Is the password correct in it ?
    b) SYSDBA remote login is disabled. remote_login_passwordfile is not set to EXCLUSIVE in the spfile or init.ora.
    Set: remote_login_passwordfile= EXCLUSIVE
    Create a password file:
    Unix: $
    orapwd file=$ORACLE_HOME/dbs/orapw$ORACLE_SID password=sys entries=5
    Windows:
    C:\> orapwd file=%ORACLE_HOME%\database\pwd%ORACLE_SID% password= sys entries=5
To synchronize the password for sys for normal connections and connections as sysdba connect as a sysdba user and reset the sys password:
    $ sqlplus "/ as sysdba" SQL> ALTER USER SYS IDENTIFIED BY change_on_install;

  • 7.20 SAP Web AS installation on (32 Bit, 2 GB) Windows OS

    Hi ALL,
I need 7.20 SAP Web AS installation on (32 Bit, 2 GB) Windows OS.(java Server)
I am new to this Server Installation. This would be my first Server Installalation.
Kindly share any installation guide available for 720 landscape installalation. I need a bit detailed doc.
Also do let me know if 32Bit, 2 GB is enough?
    Waiting for reply
    Regards,
    Archana

    Hi Archana,
    Check the Dowload link:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/downloads?rid=/library/uuid/a0a6bd7b-3dfc-2c10-eb95-aae0f777d4ab
Refer to blog for procedure. Although the procedure is for NW 7.3 installation the procedure is similar and the downloads are already available from above link.
    http://tknight.org/sdn/show/25031
2GB should be enough even though 3GB is recommended.

  • Installables for 32 bit windows machines

    Hello,
It seems SAP has stopped providing installables for 32 bit windows machines. IS it correct?
If yes which SAP versions can be installed on - Windows server 2003 SP2 (32 bit).
Can we have ECC6 EHP4 based on SQL database on it?
    Thanks,
    Ambarish

    Hi,
If you read the installation guide then following thing is mentioned there:
As of SAP ERP 6.0 SR3, you must install an SAP ERP system only on 64-bit operating
    systems.
For the dialog instance, you can still use a 32-bit operating system. Therefore, you
only see the folder Software Life-Cycle Options on the Welcome screen when you start the
installation from a 32-bit installation master DVD.
You might need to install dialog instances on 32-bit operating systems if you want to
use 32-bit SAP NetWeaver components, such as Adobe document services. However,
first check whether such 32-bit components can run on 64-bit operating systems. If
so, we recommend running these 32-bit components on a 64-bit operating system.
    Thanks
    Sunny

  • How to enforce 32 bit runtime installation on 64 bit systems for VS 2010?

I  have a VB6 application that uses a .Net dll that wraps the Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 functionality. I make an installer with VS 2010 that has a dependency on the Crystal Reports for Net 4. However, on 64 bit systems only the 64 bit runtime is installed, while I need the 32 bit installer. As I add the Net .dll as a file to the installer probably it is not detected that this .dll has been compiled for x84 systems only. Is there a workaround for this? Could I for instance hack the bootstrap package?

Why are you mixing COM and .NET? Time to upgrade to .NET completely.....
Set your project to build x86 mode only and not use Any CPU.
    Thank you

  • B1DE (AddOn Installer) for 64 bit server

    Hi All,
I have a problem. One of my client has a 64 bit server. AddOn installation created with B1DE for SAP 2007 doesn't work on that server. After running SAP AddOn is trying to install, and then there is an error. Is there any way to create AddOn installation files that work on 64 bit server?
    Regards
    Hmg

Both Robin and Owen are right... You need to run your code as forced 32 bit.
    The reason is the following:
    - A default project in Visual Studio is compiled as "Any CPU"
       - Any CPU means that you code will be executed as 32bit on a 32bit machine, and 64bit on a 64bit machine.
       - The Any CPU option is great for pure .NET (since all parts of it can run 32bit and 64bit)
       - In case of the SAP SDK and the AddonInstaller.dll, these are COM-based unmanaged code
          - If such unmanage code is not written to work with 64 bit, problems like yours can occur (this happens not only for SAP SDK... Tons of API out there have the same problems)
    - If you change the Any CPU option to the x86 option, you will force 64 bit mashines to run your code in "simulated" 32bit (Don't worry.. it is quite fast and gives no problems)
We are you this with our 64 bit customers and without any problems...
Lastly, if you wish to know more about this please hear the following podcast that describes the issue in detail (A good listen): http://www.dotnetrocks.com/default.aspx?showNum=341

  • Cannot find an Oracle Linux installation for 32 bit machines

Can anyone show me where to find a linux oracle 11g or 10g installation for a 32 bit machine.
The ones I downloaded from oracle are all for x86 64bit machines.
    Thanks

    On following page
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/dat
    abase/index.html
    this is the link
    http://download.oracle.com/otn/linux/oracle11g/linux_x
86_11gR1_database.zipWhat I actually said is that the link provided is for 64bits linux machines.
When I try running uname -r on my linux bash prompt, I get the i3686 tellin g me that I am running a 32bit machine.
On the other hand, installation guide specifies that we should check the kernel version and system architecture.
I don't think I should continue installation on seeing that I am trying to install a 64bit product on a 32bit system.

  • Native installer for 64 bit Windows

For various reasons, I need to create an AIR Native Installer that installs as a 64 bit application. I can't find this option when creating a native installer. When I install on Win64 it always insists on installing in the x86 (i.e., 32 bit) "Program Files" folder. How can I make it install in the default Program Files (i.e., the one containinf 64 bit apps).
Some background. I need to make this work with a native code library that talks to hardware (a Kinect, to be specific). When running under Win64, the Kinect driver is 64 bit, and therefore needs a 64 bit app to work with it.
    -JM

    Hi JM,
You'll need to roll your own installer to get this done.  AIR is using MSI to do the installation and it redirects non 64-bit apps to the Program FIles x86 folder.
The good part is we did work in AIR 3 to simplify this process.  Here's an ADC article that gives a good overview of the options you have:

  • Installation on 32 bit and 64 bit - Issue

    Hi All,
We are upgrading from 11.1.2.0 to 11.1.2.2. We have four Hyperion servers. All servers are windows server 2008 R1 SP2 64 bit except one which is 32 bit. On this 32 bit we currently have FDM, ODI, FR Print server, FR Studio and Essbase client. I have downloaded the 64 bit Hyperion installer and when I launch it, I am getting the error
Windows cannot find D:\Hyperion_11122_Installers\jre\win32\1.6.0\bin\javaw.I think it is looking for 32 bit version. Should I download and install 32 bit of these products/Clients particularly for this machine? If I will have to install/configure 32 bit of foundation services on this machine, would it have any compatibility issue with 64 bit of foundation services on the other servers?
The previous installation was done by some other vendor and not sure why they chose the FDM server to be 32 bit.
    Regards,
    Ragav.

There shouldn't be any issue running FDM on 64bit windows 2008 R2 machine, there used to be more issues in earlier version like 2003 as IIS could not run in both 32bit and 64bit mode.
I know FDM is 32bit but is there any reason to keep the OS 32bit, the print server does not exist anymore in 11.1.2.2, ODI is 64bit.
Though if you are installing on a 32bit then you will need to download all the 32bit components.
If you are using Oracle database then you do need to install both the 32bit and 64bit Oracle client on a 64bit OS
    Cheers
