Please let me know the installtion of high availablity of OMS Instances.
How we can configure the multi node OMS ?
Thanks
Ganesh

Hi Ganesh,
You can review below MOS note,

  • Enterprise Manager 10g - change database instance.

I have installed 10g and I have been using the enterprise manager database control web applet to manage my database. I now have the need to manage a second database, but I cannot get the new databse to show up on the login page; the console still displays the original database.
    I am using the following link to connect;
    http://<hostname>.<domain name>:5500/em
I have tried changing the Oracle_SID and running emctl start dbconsole and emctl start agent but with no luck.
Any advice for a newbie at this?
    Regards
    Stephen A Hollingdale

When emctl does not start for me, the easiest way I have found to get EM working again is to drop and re-create the EM repository. I do not Make sure your ORACLE_SID is pointing to the correct instance (I use oraenv).
Remove EM repository (you will need passwwords for sys, sysman and dbsnmp)-
emca -deconfig dbcontrol db -repos drop
    Create EM repository-
emca -config dbcontrol db -repos create
When you start emctl, it will give you the "new" URL to EM.
    Hope this helps,

  • Oracle Enterprise Manager installed but page is not loading

hi, I have installed Oracle Enterprise Manager on a Oracle Linux 5.8 box. version being Oracle.x64.11gR2. The installation was successful and I am able to start the oms services
via <ORACLE_INSTALL_HOME>/middleware/oms/bin ./emctl start oms. However, when I browse the location using browser
i.e. https://localhost:7801/em the page is indefinitely waiting for response. Any particular log files or any specfic pre-requisite I am missing that could be causing this. Kindly provide your inputs.

I don't think it's because of ageing out because:
    1. I am trying to view the plan almost at the same time that the statement is run.
    2. I am the only person running anything on the database. Shared pool is about 700M, SGA size is 2GB. PGA is 7GB.
What else would you need to know?

    Hi,
1-can we install OEM Grid 10g and OEM 9.2.0 on the same server ?
2-I'm looking for the link to download OEM9.2.0.
    Many thanks for your help.

    Hi,
1-can we install OEM Grid 10g and OEM 9.2.0 on the
same server ?Yes you can. Provided they on on different Oracle Homes and using diffrerent ports. Also how simple depends on if you are running OEM 9.2.0 in Standalone or OMS
2-I'm looking for the link to download OEM9.2.0.
Many thanks for your help.Still available from the Oracle9i Database Downloads Page. Download the Oracle9i Release 2.

Or, if you already have a previous 9iR2 CD or Download, then install it from there.

  • Oracle Enterprise Single Sign On, multiple instances

    Hi,
I am implementing Oracle eSSO 11g with AD in an org.
In the same org there is Oracle eSSO 10.1.+ version running on the same AD for a seperate set of groups.
    - How should I go about with the installation can both versions of eSSO work with same AD ??
    - Should the older version be removed and 11g installed ??
    - Is there any migration document for this kind of change ??
Any help/ suggestions will be greatful... Thanks in advance.. :)

SSPR doesn't do that. You need OIM or some other product.

  • Failed to install enterprise manager under linux

When I installed Oracle 10g(10.2.0.1) under linux, I got an error when running
    /ora01/db/oracle/product/10.2.0.1/bin/emca within oracle universal installer.
The emConfig.log file shows such error:

So I have to run emca after the oracle installation. I am new to this tool. I modified both tnsnames.ora and listener.ora file to set port to 1521. And then I run emca -config all db,
but now I cannot pass "entering the password for SYS user" (I already set SYS user's password to oracle, and it works when using sqlplus.) .
I am totally confused. What should I run emca to set up the enterprise manager's website? Now I can use localhost:5560/isqlplus and localhost:5560/isqlplus/dba.
    Many thanks!!

I just run emca as oracle instead of root, then the password got passed, but I got new errors:

What should I do? Is running emca -config all db necessary to get enterprise manager installed?

  • UCCE with multiple instance

    Hi everyone,
I have a plan to install UCCE 8.0 with multiple instance in my lab environment.
I'm not sute that, do I have to use hosted model or use enterprise and just create multiple instance on it.
Actually, I want to implement multi-tenant , I'm not sure because I see that enterprise model also can add more than 1 instance.
And if I use one of this model, could anyone tell me that what server I have to separate.
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards,
    Tinnakorn

    Hi Tinnakorn,
The Cisco Unified Contact Center Hosted (Unified CCH) solution is largely the same as Unified CCE, but it supports multi-tenant or shared servers to manage multiple customer instances. That is the reason you see the capability to add multiple instance, even in UCCE.
All Unified CCE systems are deployed as a single instance (using the same instance name and number in setup) across all the Unified CCE components.
Please refer to UCCE SRND for more details.
    Thanks,
    Hitesh

    Tony Cool,
Please don't post this in every forum you can spell. You also posted this as [email protected] in comp.databases.oracle.server.
The only thing you should do is
Look up the error messages in the online documentation and work from there.
This are known errors, the solution is all over the Internet, there is really no need for you to request volunteers to deliver it on your doorstep for free.

  • Multiple instances of AcroRd32.exe while using Windows Explorer Preview Pane

I'm trying to understand why our computers behave differently while browsing PDF files using Windows Explorer with the preview pane turned on.
All are Windows 7 Pro 32-bit.
The scenario:  Open Windows Explorer with the preview pane turned on, go to a folder full of PDF files, and start single-clicking on them, one by one down the list.  Keep Task Manager open, on the Processes tab, showing processes from all users, as you click on the PDF files.
On two of the computers, you can keep clicking right on the down the list, and the preview pane shows the PDF file contents immediately with each click.  The Task Manager does not show any instances of AcroRd32.exe running, and the machine does not slow down no matter how quickly you go down the list of files.  You can keep clicking all day.
On the other two computers, as you keep clicking down the list, after about six or seven clicks, the machine starts getting slower and slower in responding to display the PDF contents.  In Task Manager, you see multiple instances of AcroRd32.exe executing, and the list keeps growing with more instances - I've seen up to 8, with memory allocations to some of the instances approaching 700MB!  One of the CPU cores goes to 100%. If you stop clicking in Windows Explorer, eventually, the machine recovers, and the list of multiple instances of AcroRd32.exe shrinks, but never goes away completely until you close the Explorer window.
What could account for this difference?  One of the users is complaining - he often browses folders of scanned PDFs looking for invoices, transactions, etc., and has to go slowly to keep his machine from bogging down.  I don't know when this behavior started.
It doesn't matter if it is a shared folder on a network resource or one locally on the machine, or if it is an admin or standard Windows account - the behavior is the same.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Reader, to no avail.
    Thanks for any ideas.

Yes i'm having this issue to.
Becomes worse after display many documents in pane, worst even if scanned images are in.
After killing the  process, sometimes it generate even more process.
After Killing all the process, sometimes need to deactivate the pane view and activate
    again to restore normal preview.
Sometimes it takes a lot of time to progress to file below, if i wait, going to files above, it pass
the file that shows delay, without any problem.
I add received from Microsoft, in answer to the same issue to uninstall adobe reader and install
latest version. It become a bit more stable, but problem still shows.
Abobe reader: 10.1.0, ATI latest drivers 11-07
    Please, Help!

  • How to search the indexes in 11g Enterprise Manager Console

    Hi,
After setting the Indexes using Java Embedding for a process, can you please tell me how to search the indexes in 11g Enterprise Manager Console for the particular process. In 10g BPEL Console we have the option of searching the Instances based on Indexes we already set at process level which is inbuilt in 10g. I need the same in 11g .
    Thanks,
    Sagar.

    Hi Sagar,
You can define composite sensors in your composite.
Then you will get fields in enterprise manager of that composite instance.(the sensors you have defined will be displayed here)
You can enter the values based on what you want to search the instance. :)

  • [How To] access Ms SQL Server2k multiple instance via JDBC?

    hi,
could anybody tell me how to?
sql server 'servera': ms sql 2000 enterprise (english)
    installed 3 name instances ('instance1','instance2' and 'instance3')
    jdbc driver: i-net opta 2000
I don't find any parameter like 'instance' in driver's document, so how could I present my db instance?
Here is my attemp, but not hit:
    "jdbc:inetdae7:servera\instance1?database=aaa" via tcp/ip and
    "jdbc:inetdae7:\\servera$instance1\pipe\sql\query?database=aaa" via pipe
    who can help me, thanks

Though I am not an expert in this area, I wish to give my thoughts. Each instance will be listening to a particular port. So in the url string you can specify the port to connect to the particular instance. For example
    jdbc:oracle:thin:@127.0.0.1:1521:oracle","scott","tiger
the above url string is for the instance running on my local box listening to port 1521.
If I have one more instance running on 1523, I just change the port number.
Hope this gives you some insight.
    Cheers.

  • CONNECT -TIME FAILOVER ERROR IN ORACLE 10G ENTERPRISE MANAGER

    Hi All,
Please can anyone explain why I am getting this error and how to fix it?
I was trying this exercise to create a backup LISTENER to support a connect-time failover in Enterprise manager. The steps were .1)I clicked the Listener's link on Database control page.2)Next I clicked the Net Services Administration link.3)I selected listeners from the Administer drop-down list and clicked Go.
I received the ERROR message that "Listener administration cannot be performed, as this Oracle Home
"/opt/oracle/DB10g" is not a server installation.
    Is this normal?
What can I do to fix it?Please help!
    Thanks

you are trying to start the listener on the machine that has enterprise manager installed.
Listener executable is available with oracle database software install( enterprise or otherwise).
You will have to pick the listener on a database software install box to configure it

  • Enterprise manager in oracle 9i

    hi
If i could not installed Oracle enterprise manager in a remote server , how could i install for the server ?This is about oracle 9i.
I have remote access only via VPN. and how can we check whether already enterprise manager installed or not ?
    Thanks
    Luke

You must read the part in the Installation Documentation for certified repository databases to ensure that your database is OK.
My advice is always, never start any installation (not only Oracle) without reading the Documentation, Release Note and any README.
You will spend less time in the installation as Configuration if you use the required documentations for your platform.

  • Cache hit ratio at enterprise manager

    hit ratio formula is:
    (logical_reads - physical_reads/logical_reads )*100
Now, if I open Oracle Enterprise Manager and goes to Instance->Configuration->Memory I can see SGA and PGA configuration. I can also see the cache hit ratio, in my case 35%, but it seems that this is not the formula I mentioned above, because when I execute that formula i get 75% hit ratio:
    SELECT 1 -(phy.value / (cur.value + con.value)) "CACHE HIT RATIO"
    FROM v$sysstat cur, v$sysstat con, v$sysstat phy
WHERE cur.name = 'db block gets'
    AND con.name = 'consistent gets'
    AND phy.name = 'physical reads';
    CACHE HIT RATIO
    ,749500702
So my question is, what is that hit ratio at Oracle Enterprise Manager?

    Hi Elidas,
what is that hit ratio at Oracle Enterprise Manager? Thet don't publish their formula, but you can log an SR and ask.
By itself, the buffer cache hit ratio is not very meaningful, and the data buffer cache hit ratio is largely meaningless for decision support and data warehouse applications because of their propensity to have full-table scans and parallel full-table scans (which may bypass the data buffers entirely, using PGA memory).
The buffer cache hit ratio is most meaningful for databases with an undersized db_cache_size, where the "working set" of frequently-referenced data has not been cached. Oracle provides the data buffer cache advisory utility (v$db_cache_advice) in the standard AWR report. (and later releases of STATSPACK reports). Oracle has expanded the advisory utilities to include a shared pool, Java and PGA advisory.
    Here are my notes:
    http://www.dba-oracle.com/m_buffer_cache_hit_ratio.htm
