  • Toshiba 50M2U Display Issue - Help!

Colors are not displaying correctly on our Toshiba; dark colors are replaced with a green hue. It's most noticible in the initial boot up, with the red TOSHIBA logo appearing on top of a green screen that should normally be black.
I messed around with absolutely every setting on the tv. Tint, contrast, brightness, color, reset to factory settings, etc...
None of it fixes the issue I'm wondering, is it the LED lamp panel that's messed up? Has anyone ever had this issue before?
Please let me know if there's anything that can be done about it!

  • MacBook Pro Display Issue

I have a macbook pro since April, 2012, So far I had no issues. However, today the screen has turned blueish and pixelated. I could still use it without any issues however, the display seems to be still there. I have tried restart and Command + Option + P + R key restart option also. If anybody had a similar issue and was able to resolve it on their own ?

I'm not sure why you'd say that since I mentioned in the OP that I was able to run the computer fine via ADR.
Regardless, I've since found that my MBP was part of the "NVIDIA" debacle, and as such, is eligible for free repair by Apple.

  • New Macbook Air - display issues after waking from sleep

I have a 1 day old Macbook Air 13" (2013) --- when I wake the machine from sleep, the display shows horizontal / vertical bands for a couple of seconds before clearing up to show the desktop. Please see attached picture. This doesn't happen 100% of the time but I've been able to repeatedly replicate this at intervals. Does this seem like a hardware problem or an OS related issue? Thanks.

Display driver fault from wakeup, or external disconnect occurrence.
    reset SMC and re verify
    SMC reset
    Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.
Since you just bought it, contact Apple about making an exchange within 14 days or repair after 2 week period.
    peace.

  • Mac Pro Display Issue HELP!

    Hello Everyone,
Lately i just bought a new mac pro. recently i have been doing some video projects in final cut pro 7 (i know its outdated lol) in the video preview it seems that the video has some distortion to it, meaning the the video has a skewed effect to it of some sort. I upgraded from a 2009 iMac which i have never noticed this issue before! I don't think that it would be a hardware issue.. heres my specs:
    3.33GHz 6-core
    12 gigs of ram
    ATI radeon 5770 1gb ram
    Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster SA300
I think that it may be the monitor.. as i soon plan on upgrading to a cinema display.
If anyone has and idea what may be causing this unusual issue that would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance!

I cleaned out my mac with compressed air, it was dusty, but the display flickering happened again.
So I followed your advice and installed:
    Temperature Monitor
    http://www.bresink.de/osx/TemperatureMonitor.html
Which showed that my memory module 1B and 2B were 70 - 75'C(160 -167'F). There was no reading for the graphic card so I couldn't tell if that was over heating.
    Then I installed:
    smc fan controller
    http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/23049/smcfancontrol
and increased the memory_cpu fan speed which lowered the temperature of the ram to 60'C (143'F).
I even changed this ram's placement and put it in different slots. This ram was the same temperature in the new placements.
Also this is the kingston 2gb ram without heatsinks. Ive used it for 1.5 yrs, and this is the first time its giving me these problems.
Do you know how I can check if the graphic card is over heating? or is the problem just with the ram?
Thank you for all your help!

  • Early 2011 Macbook external display issues after firmware update

I have a 2011 MBPro 15". After performing the firmware update in late April, I have continual issues when I connect my monitor. The screen is blank and I can move the mouse tap the keyboard etc. The display may come up for a scond and then it will close and the machine goes back to sleep. More wiggling and the process starts over.
If I raise the lid it may bing up the external display. Restarting is the only sure fix.
I also was unable to make a presentation today because the projector I was connected to would not show the MBP display.
I tried all the key combinations, detect display etc. and nothing.
Can I somehow go back to the prior firmware? Other solutions?
    SMC Version (system):          1.69f1
    EFI Driver Version:          01.00.521

I recently did a software update to my MacBook pro and had a similar issue, on restart it gets to the apple logo then just shuts off, after multiple hours on the phone with apple care they told me that it was coincidence that it happened at the same time as the update and it would be costly to repair as it was either something to do with display or logic board. I took my MacBook into my retail location I bought it from and was told that they have had MULTIPLE people bring in macbooks with the SAME issue (I live in a really small city so the amount of people is quite large proportion wise) and that they could fix the issue by remotely resetting the MacBook at a cost of $130-$150. Relatively cheap considering what I was fearing, but if this is a common problem related to Apples update why are we paying to fix it and why is apple support saying its something major???

  • Black macbook backlight display issue

im working on a friends macbook. the issue is the display. the laptop boots up just fine but after laptop has powered up the screen stays dark. the battery is charged. when the "f2" is tapped once the display lights up a little. when pressed again it goes back to dim. i then have to press the "f1" key to bring down to the lowest setting. i do this all over again some times i can get to around the 3rd brightness setting then it automatically drops to dim. i assume the backlight bulb itself is ok so am i right in saying the inverter is going bad or is there something in the "f1" "f2" keys that is not making a good connection. I hope i explained this well enough. Thanks.

Actually, I don't think you can hook up the USB to a RGB cable.
Wich imputs does your projector support? VGA?
If your projector supports VGA imput you can use a displayport cable with VGA exit and plug the projector there.

  • MacBook Pro display issues-is this a TS2377 problem?

Has anyone had their screen turn into back and white gigsaw puzzle pieces before displaying contents correctly?
If this is not a TS2377 issue, any ideas what could be causing  it?

I have an issue which I think is the TS2377 issue - where the built-in monitor on the 15" MacBook Pro from that time period has odd blurry and blinking lines all over, and the colors in many places have gone all psychedelic.
BUT when I plut it into an external monitor via the VGA port the video is fine. I can't figure out if this could still be the TS2377 issue, or if it could be the logic board. Or, is that part of the logic board??
    Thanks

  • 15" MacBook Pro Display Issue

I have a 2010 15" MacBook Pro running Lion (10.7.4) and a NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M display adapter. I have an occasional issue that when I have closed the display and let the computer go to sleep and then re-open the lid to use the computer, the keyboard lights up, but the display does not come on. I then have to hold the power button to power down the machine and reboot.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!
    Adam

I sometimes have this problem also. They way i fix is i just close the lid again and reopen it. that works for me.

  • Macbook retina display issues

Using a mid-2012 Macbook Pro 15 Retina, I recently noticed that some web text and graphics, even on Apple websites, are fuzzy.  Typically, especially an Apple site would appear fuzzy for a second or so, then "retina quality" would always kick-in and now graphics and text on SOME (not all) pages are fuzzy or un-Retina-like and stay that way. Sometimes after several minutes, the "retina quality" will kick-in, but not always.  Desktop and general application fonts, icons and photos outside the web appear retina-like without issue. Thanks for any advice or thoughts.

    Try resetting the PRAM.
    Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Option, Command (⌘), P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on your Mac.
Immediately press and hold the Option-Command-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears. Continue holding the keys down until your Mac restarts, and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • New MacBook Pro Display issue

    Hello,
Has anyone an idea what can lead to this behavior? My old MacBook Pro doesn't have this problem.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-C2i1m5OKs
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OE8bY9t7PU
The problem occurs during wake up from a power savings mode (turned off display or suspend).
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and produces mess as you can see in the video.
Changing between the GeForce 9000M and the GeForce 9600M GT changes the behavior. With the GeForce 9000M it works more consistently, I simply see occasional  flicker while using the screen. With the GeForce 9600M GT, if the image stabilizes, then it works without flicker.
Do I have to return the MacBook Pro?
    Thanks

Yes, you've got a serious hardware problem there ...

  • COLOUR DISPLAY ISSUES

Using photo shop, when I place an image into a document it comes up in grey rather than colour. Also if I try to fill new layer it appears grey although it displays the correct pantone. Can anyone advise me how to fix this please? Thank you

Is the image grayscale (Image > Mode > …)?

  • HDMI to Macbook Pro audio issue - help??

I've just bought a mini displayport to HDMI cable to connect my Macbook Pro up to my tv. When I play stuff through the internet (ie. YouTube) I hear audio, but there's no sound when trying to play a movie from my external HD... help anyone?

I've got a Mac OS X version 10.7.5.  When I play something such as a clip from YouTube from the internet there is sound through the TV, but no, not when playing something from the external or the laptop hard drives.  I've got a separate audio cable which I'm now using to make up for it, I'm just confused as to why I have to.  I'm playing videos through VLC which I consider to be a pretty **** good media player.

  • Macbook display issues

    Hello!
Way back a few months ago when I purchased my MacBook, I had some display problems from the beginning. I talked to a service rep and they walked me through some potential fixes but eventually sent out a box for me to return my macbook in for repair (I am an hour and a half away from closest apple store). I am a full time student, however, and did not ever get a chance to send it in. Later, I had issues that made my macbook unusable, and was forced to send it in. I was hoping that the display issues would have been fixed as well, but they weren't. Luckily, I primarily use an external display. But my problem has gotten worse and worse, my macbook is almost unusable on it's own at this point.
I know I am still under repair warranty and was hoping someone could send a box out for me to return this before my fall term begins, so I could use it for note taking again. But I can't go into an apple store and I don't have phone support anymore, so I have to post this on here because there is no email support.
I hope someone can help me!
    Thanks a lot,
    KJ

I know you only get something like 30 days phone support but i think thats more for simple things if you get stuck or need help using something. You have a full years warranty so if you have a problem within the year you should be able to phone them up and get your problem sorted out under warranty. They will probably ask for your serial number but you should not have to pay for phone support. Just call the number listed on the apple site.
When you speak to them make sure you tell them ALL the problems you have with your machine. When i sent mine in i made a text file titled 'Problems with this macbook' and left it in the middle of my desktop with the background image turned off to make it more visible. I dont know if the engineer ever read it but its an extra step that might be worth taking. You should still tell the guy on the end of the phone about all your problems though. They may well assign a work order to your machine going by what you tell them so if you only tell them about one problem the engineer that looks at it might not know to look at anything else.
