13" Macbook Pro 2010, itunes Hangs playing older protected video

This is a very odd problem. I have been working on this for several day now and have finally narrowed down the problem and I am looking to see if anyone else is having the same issues playing iTunes protected video content purchased in 2006.
Herre is the scenario. I have several movies and music videos that I purchased in the early days of Apple offering movies and videos for purchase on iTunes (2006). Titles like BattleStar Galactica 1 season and other music videos. Now these are the 320 x 240 versions. I have never had any problem playing them with my dual core Mac Mini or My 2006 Mac Pro or My white 2006 MacBook. Yet I upgraded to this new 2010 MacBook Pro and I am having problems.
Here is the problem: If I try to play one of these videos that date to 2006 and are 320 x 240 protected video in iTunes the video distorts kinda like its scrambled I can still here the audio then the whole computer will freeze for 30 or 50 seconds, then the video will begin to play normally with audio and no video distortion. Very Strange.... Heres where it gets better.... From that point on every video I play will pause with the spinning beach ball for 30 to 50 seconds then plays the video normally. This includes newer purchased videos and movies. Also from this point on even playing videos on youtube will freeze for 30 to 50 seconds then play. If I restart the computer this behavior goes away until I try to play one of those 2006 videos in iTunes. All other video content purchased after 2006 the ones that are 640 x 480 play fine and do not cause this issue. The other odity is that if I try to play one of these 2006 videos in quicktime it plays with no problem at all.
What I have tried: I have tried repairing permissions, zap the pram no luck. I have also tried a new user account no luck. I even went so far as to install a clean install of os X on an external drive and boot from it, still no joy. Lastly I tried the new Graphics update that was just released. While it did fix the problems I was having with Starcraft II it did not fix this problem. As a test I repurchased one of the offending music videos (A-Ha, Take On Me) again from itunes and it did not have the problem.
Also I have though maybe the files are corrupt but the play fine on my other machines. So I tried a friends identical macbook 2010 13" and BOOM the same problem. Also I tried a Mac Mini 2010 and BOOM same problem (the guy with the mini even had some of his own 2006 content in his library). So the only thing I can think of at this point is that since all the computers that had the problem were using the Nvidia 320m graphics chip and the same versions of itunes that it must be a combination of the DRM and graphics chip having some kind of problem.
So what im asking here is if any one else is seeing this or could test it for me. Remember it has to be a purchased music video or tv show you downloaded from 2006 that is 320 x 240. Im kinda at a lose for what to do at this point.

I bought my MacBook 13" three weeks ago, and I am having the exact same problem. I have reinstalled the operating system. I ordered another OS disk from Apple to see if I had a bad disk. I went to the Genius bar at the local Apple store, where they wiped my hard drive to reinstall the OS, and they even replaced my MacBook. I still have the problem. Every genius told me that my files were most likely corrupted, but if that's the case, they should not play on my old ibook, which they do. I also should not have trouble with new content that I download.
I agree with another poster that I hope that Apple fixes this with a new update.
