1315 all in one scan problems

This printer used to work so well, but now there is no HP director with which to choose "scan" on my desktop or in my "all programs" field.  I've tried to hunt through the troubleshooting section to no avail.  No matter what the troubleshooter tells me to do there is no way I can see to scan, although it used to.

I just had a thought about the scanning issue.  Do you by chance have a firewall or an anti virus protection running?  If so I suggest we disable them and then run the Print and Scan Doctor again.
As for changing the password on the HP Forums,  If you go to the main page on your profile, you will see on the right hand side "My Community"
Under My Community, you will see " Welcome cybasmith".
The next line will say "My Account" .  Click on My Account.
The next window that comes up will have all of your information.  Edit HP Passport > User ID - Password - Contact information - Security questions.  
From here you can click on Password and this will take you to another window that will enable you to change your password.

  • How can I use my HP 1315 All-in-One scan features on my computer?

    I am able to use the printing function from my computer but am unable to use the scanning feature on my printer.  I have downloaded the Apple stuff and have searched HP (many features, including a diagnostic test, are blocked by Apple!!) and can't figure out how to use my scanner on the printer.  The suggestions from Apple (web help) are not helpful in the least.  I have a HP 1315 All-in-One (1310 Series) and the Mac installation disk will not work on my MacBook.  Any suggestions will be helpfull.  In advance, thank you!!

  • HP8600 Officejet all in one -scanning problem with ADF

    Hi there - I have an Officejet 8600 all in one printer-scanner etc.  I love it - it copies no problem - it used to scan both from the Automatic Document Feeder and from  the glass.
    NOW - it prints OK - it scans from the flatbed glass OK - but when you scan a document in from  the document feeder - it scans 4 pages 1inch high then the document.  This is really irritating as it never used to do this and I dont want to have to scan pages one at a time from  the glass.

    Based on your description, it sounds like the issue is limited to the document feeder.   • Hp c6180 all in one scan problem

    Hp all in one C6180 printer/fax/scanner/copier will not recogonize handwritings so as signatures. The letters and number print as characters ? ~ ! and some caps. I  Appreciiate your help.

    This is generally going to be a limitation of OCR software in general. Despite how nice our handwriting can be most OCR does not pick it up as expected. However, software changes all the time and there some handwriting recognition software suites out there (depending on what you are looking for). Throw a search into google for "ocr software that recognizes handwriting" and there are a few links out there. Let us know if you find what you are looking for.

  • HP PSC 1315 All in one printing problem

    My printer only prints text in red in the body. It will print black along the top and bottom of the paper.  It also prints in black when I copy something.  I put in new fresh cartridges.  What can I do?

    What program are you printing from?  It would appear your are printing in graphics mode (rather then black text) and that your printer is running out of cyan ink.

  • 3520 All-in-One Scan Problem

    Why is there a black line on the length of my scanned documents about two inches from either side of the document.  This happens only during ADF scanning, but not when scanning on the glass.  Any help will certainly be appreciated.

  • Psc 1315 all-in-one​.missing text when using scanning window

    hello everyone, i am new to all this forum stuff...i have a psc hp 1315 all-in-one printer..it works fine when i print a document THROUGH my pc, as the computer automatically aligns the page...but when i place a document on the viewing window under the lid, and push the relevant button/s ON the printer,manually, it comes out with about an inch of the text at the bottom, missing, and about the same vertically down the right side....
    i have tried the troubleshooting/help pages, on the hp website,+ the printers user manual, but no joy...i am no expert on printers so i don't want to do anything major,until i have sought proper advice....i hope i have been specific enough

    I have installed a hp psc 1315 all in one printer on my new Mac OS X version 10.9.5.
    While I can print without any problems, I don't have access to scan a document from the printer to my computer.
    Can anyone help with this?

    Welcome to the HP Community!
    I hope to help you with the scanning concern you have today.
    Unfortunately, you will not be able to scan using HP software with your PSC 1315 (older model), on Mavericks (newer OS X), as there is no Full Feature driver (includes scanning software) available.
    However, you do have some other options to scan. See this link for your options. Scroll down when the guide loads and select "How do I scan with the driver from Apple Software Update?"

  • Hp 1315 all-in-one won't print black

    1315 all-in-one prints text in green (instead of black), prints multi colored documents in green and yellow. Both cartridges are new. Prints test page fine. Extended self test:
    Vert cart to cart alignment setting: 0  0
    Horizontal ......                                0   0
    Black Bidirectional Alignment Setting:  0  0  0  0
    Color Bidirectional..........                       0  0
    Also printer runs a test page each time it is turned on.

    Have you upgraded the firmware of your printer lately; you can get the latest firmware in the main support page for your printer 
    This is the main support page for your printer,  GO HERE Go to software and drivers download and select your operating system. You should also upgrade the firmware of the printer.

    Since I've up grade to a new computer with Windows 8, life has been VERY hard on on my HP 1315 All in One.  I've final found the pritner driver but the scanner is not functioning - Where do I find a driver/software download.

        i have problem with scanning thru network which takes almost more than 2minutes very slow compared to scanning when printer connected locally with USB.  i need some solution to fix this issue. Plz advise me what needs to be done prior to scanning?

    I understand your printer is not connecting wireless and only connecting USB. I have some questions and ideas for you that should help. Let's get to it!
    Could you please remove the USB cable, run the Print and Scan Doctor again and send me a screen shot of the results from running the diagnostic tool?
    Also let me know which model from the C7200 series you have:

     HP Photosmart C7288 All-in-One Printer
    Try power cycling the network devices:
    Turn off the printer and computer and unplug the router for 1 minute (do not press any buttons on the router).
    Plug the router back in and wait another minute, next turn on the printer and computer. Run the Print and Scan Doctor afterwards and try printing.
