1394 OHCI compliant Host controller

ok i have ordered 2 of these boards now. the first i just figured was the board  because no matter what i did i got the BSOD and had to heep restoreing for it to work.so i was sent another from best buy who i purchased this from. but now still the 1394 OHCI compliant Host controller will not install . i have tried updateing the software and whatever i can do but it just won't update.
i also get this code in properties
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
msi x58 pro-e
6 gb coisiar 1600 runiing at 1033 for now
xfx xxx radeon 5870 video card
windows 7 ultimate 64-bit
hopefully this is enough info
 thank you .

I would start to wonder if the reseller sent you back the same board. Two having the exact same issue are remote unless it was related to a bad batch of controllers. One would would think the forum would have had a bunch of threads about it. I take it the firewire device cable has been carefully inspected & the device has been tested in another machine?

this never worked, i have had this board now for over a year and have yet to have it installed.
A year has passed? It doesn't appear like any magical cure is going to present itself, so RMA looks to be in order.

I have an HP Z600 with a LSI 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller and get an error. It is a "This device cannot start. (Code 10) STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE error
When Windows 7 is installed, there is no error but with Windows 8.1 running there is this error.
There are no installed legacy drivers that I can use and I have tried many different permutations of driver installs.
    Any thoughts?

    Hi:
You may also want to post your question on the HP Business Support Forum -- z Workstations section.

If you tried manually installing the W7/W8 driver (I have no clue which one of the several LSI drivers listed that you need), then that would have been the only suggestion I could have offered.

Everything else passes.  Device Manager is showing the Controller installed and working properly. I checked the driver and it appears to be the most current. However I have not checked the drivers for the Mother Board and Chipset as I don't want to create more severe problems by messing with those drivers.  Like I said, all other hardware is functioning without problem.  Anyone have any ideas?
    Thank you

Try changing your firewire driver. There's 3 drivers bundled in windows 7, change the driver to the one that has (Legacy) at the end of the name.
    Hi,
I already tried it and some other drivers to. Windows 7 Ultimate x64 manages to recognize my external drive, but after copying some bigger files the data transfer speed dops to zero and I can't abort the copying process. So it's more or less stuck until I unplug my drive.
My FireWire interface consits of this PCI express card:
    http://www.logilink.org/showproduct/PC0036A.htm
    This is my external drive:
    http://www.lacie.com/de/products/product.htm?pid=11064
I know that the FireWire of the drive works, because I also tested it on my old computer who has built in FireWire. When I tested the card with Vista x86 I had the same issues.
What's wrong and how can I fix it?

  • OHCI IEEE1394 DEVICE Host Controller

I have downgraded from vista to windows xp successfully however the OHCO IEEE1394 COMPLIANT HOST CONTROLLER drivers cannot be found, I have installed all Windows Updates including the service packs but still have not been able to overcome the above drivers. Anyone know where I can find the WindowsXP drivers for this? This is the last hurdle on  my rollback from the dreaded Vista nightmare but need to complete this install and I am home free. Any suggestons where I may be able to get these from? my laptop is a dv6700 Notebook PC
    thanks again

I am currently running BIOS F.2B on a dv6426us (ICH7) and NEVER had any problems when I went to a DUAL Boot XPro/Vista ... BUT I did try to install the(fore-mentioned Unibrain) driver (without upgrading the BIOS) and my Firewire Audio device (M-Audio) refused to work/install.  I did not mess around with trying to see if a newer BIOS would have been compatible however.  Ended up uninstalling and reverting back to distribution driver, but I guess it is worth trying on YOUR hardware.  BTW ... that download exe is VERY scary looking until it actually gets running.
    Report back your SUCCESS!

The device that shows a conflict is my IEEE 1394 bus host controller - VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 bus host controller.
Yesterday it said:  This device cannot start (code 10)
today it says:  This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)
Is ther anyone that can help me to get rid of this problem?

  • IEEE 1394 bus host controller issue.

Each time I boot my system (Tecra A9 S9021V) the IEEE 1394 Bus host controller device driver displays that it is disabled with an error code 22 (this taken from device manager).
From within device manager I manually disable the device, then re-enable the device.  The device then displays that is operating correctly.  The device driver is displayed as "Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller".  There are 2 files associated with the driver - (1) 1394bus.sys (Microsoft Corporation; version 6.0.6001.18000 longhorn_rtm 080118-1840), and (2) ohci1394.sys (Microsoft Corporation; version 6.0.6000.16386 vista_rtm 061101-2205).
I'm running Vista Business SP1 with all updates/patches.
Is there something I can do to get this device to start up correctly?
    Thank you!

  • HT3204 This is wgat my coputer said after running diagnostics on it: Connection attempt to firmware update server was unsuccessful. An unknown error occurred (-9808).No FireWire (IEEE 1394) Host Controller found.

When I run the diagnostic on my computer this is what it says: Connetion attempt to firmware update server eas unsuccessful. An unknown error occured (-9808). No fireWire (IEEE 1394) Host Controller found. What should I do so that I am able to update and restore my ipod?

In the course of your troubleshooting to date, have you worked through the following document?
iTunes Store: "An unknown error occured (-9808)"

  • No IEEE 1394 Host Controller found.

While attempting to update my iPod..actually, just while saying "Do Not Disconnect" my iTunes has been shutting down.
I ran diagnostics on my iPod and the subject showed up -- "No IEEE 1394 Host Controller found." Any idea what this could mean?

I think I am having the same problem, my iTunes is hanging and not responding. I am not very technically minding, and have now been trying to update my Ipod, and my husbands Ipod, for 3 days. In the same time I have, I think, downloaded Ipod version 7.0.1. I therefore do not know if it is my husbands Ipod which is at fault, or the new software. I ran the diagnostics tool and got the following outcome, which leads me to believe that there is a problem with the host controller, however.. i dont appear to be able to do "anything" with iTunes without it hanging, e.g., i cant burn a backup of the library. I have restarted, restored, downloaded the latest version of itunes, all to no avail. Is there an "idiots" guide to this somewhere? I am totally lost and cognitively challenged. • Diagnosis states :No IEEE 1394 Host Controller found. Why do I do?

I have been having problems with my iPod since I purchased it. I run the diagnosis and it states that No IEE 1394 Host Controller found. I have Windows XP and I have tried everything I can thing of form reinstalling to rebooting to changing computers and I get the same results. A iPod that remains in recovery mode. When I restore the system states that it has been restored and then it says it is in recovery mode and needs to be restored again. I am so tired of this iPod that I'm at the point of giving up. Please, Please, Please help me if you can.

When you run diagnostics it checks for a firewire controller and since the iPod Classic doesn't have one, it displays that message. (IE 1394 is firwire). It would display that message even if the iPod were working correctly.

  • SDA standard compliant SD host controller error

I am getting an error on SDA standard compliant SD host controller and when I try to update the driver it says I have the latest installed, can I uninstall and reinstall the driver?? I have tried everything I can think of and its the only thing left I know
to try, I believe the error code was 30 but I am not positive, I just dont want to do something to mess it up worse! Im far from being computer savvy!!! Any help will be appreciated, thank you.

As far as the graphics goes it's well accpeted the only way at present to switch is though the bios manually. There is currently no drivers that enable users to switch from within Win7. Know it's a pain but will just have to wait.

    Hi,
I think it conforms to a SD Association standards and is suitable for volume and high speed communication, It is related with card reader driver.

    Hi,
after i removed the suggested Folder, i disabled both "Microsoft Exchange Search service and Microsoft Exchange Search Host Controller service, than i restarted the Exchange Server.
After that i restarted both services.
Sadly nothing has changed, hostcontroller.exe is still crashing:

    After that the hostcontroller crashes:

Just installed Windows 7 in a1130n desktop.  The USB Host Controller and the Std USB Host Controller are not recognized by the operating system.  The USB ports and the media memory ports on the front panel will not work.

  • USB 3.0 host controller and USB Root Hub xHCI not showing up on Windows 8.1 laptop

Greetings and thank you for taking the time to read the following message and 'maybe' attempt to help me with my current plight...
I have an HP envy m6 laptop running Windows 8.1 and Windows 7. The problem i am facing at current is that i have only 1 out of 4 usb ports working on my Windows 8.1 partition however on my Server 2012 partition, all four ports are working fine. After asking
around i have come to the conclusion that i'm having a driver issue. I compared what was present on the Windows 7 USB controllers (in Device Manager) to what was present on the Windows 8.1 controllers and i found that my Intel(R) USB 3.0 extensible host controller
    - 0100 (Microsoft) and my USB Root Hub (xHCI) was missing on my Windows 8.1 partition.
Now for some background....the problem first occurred when i was trying to solve an external hard drive issue in which none of my external hard drives where showing up when i plugged them into my usb ports, i came across an online solution telling me to
uninstall all my USB drivers in device manager, restart the laptop and let the computer re install the drivers automatically, the result was that i only had 1 out of 4 ports working. Could someone please point me in the right direction in order to fix this
    problem?

Windows 8 has native USB 3.0 drivers which explains why you are not seeing an option to roll back. I do not believe you can make the Windows 7 driver work. Have you tried uninstalling in the device manager all usb items and then rebooting to let the drivers reload? Do that with the computer off the dock and then plug it into the dock. As a general rule you should not do driver updates to a laptop through a docking station.
