13in macbook pro

Has anyone came from a blackbook and can compare the heat on the new Macbook pro. I actually use my laptop on my lap and have to use a cooling pad all the time or risk burning my legs. Has the heat issue been addressed with the new macbook pro?

Yes, I can help you.
I have a Black MacBook that just got replaced with a 13" MacBook Pro
I do have to say, it is IMPROVED...but not "breakthrough"
It still does get a little warm...but what I noticed is the fact that it doesn't get warm for the smallest of things.
For example, the BlackBook would get toasty just having it on and using it for like 15 mins. Internet, email, etc. On the MBP, it says pretty cool when just using the internet, etc unless you are using it for long periods of time. the only time my new MBP gets VERY hot is when I am editing HD video, or anything processor intensive.
The fans are also MUCH quieter in the MBP!
Hope that helps!

Apple has a 90 warranty warranty on all of their repairs.  You should take your computer back to the repair shop.  Or call Apple Customer Relations (800) 767-2775.  Wait for a human to come on the line and ask politely and firmly that you want to be transferred over to the Customer Relations department.  Tell them your issue.

  • 13in MacBook Pro 2011 photo booth trouble??

I just got my brand new 13in MacBook Pro i7 last week and I seem to be having a big photo booth problem, I was seeing if anyone else is experiencing this issue as well. When you use one of the live background effects (ex: roller coaster, fishes, paris etc...) it asks you to step out of frame, when i do and the mac scans the background and completes, it does not bring none of the effect in and if it does, it's only like one tiny portion. I tried multiple backgrounds, lighting, rooms, etc...Anyone else having this issue or do u care to try on your new 2011 macbook pro for me please?

OMG SAME i'm in the exact same situation as you. i bought it a couple of days ago, and the same thing happens. the brightness also decreases for some weird reason. and i was so excited about that feature as well
i wonder if it's just us?

  • Photoshop is lagging really badly in my 13in Macbook Pro.

Photoshop is lagging really badly in my 13in Macbook Pro. Simple operations like selecting a tool, or just any click take up to 5min to complete. I looked in the force quit menu and it tells me that the program is not responding. I tried re-starting my laptop, even uninstalling the program. When I installed it again the problem got worse as when it loads the rainbow wheel shows up, not letting me do anything. Currently I'm on the trial version. Maybe the problem will fix itself if I buy a plan?

Not really. You have to look at things.
System requirements | Photoshop to start with. See how your Macbook measures up
Verify your disk and Repair Permissions with disk utility.
Be sure you are updated to 2014.2.2
Then see if there are bad fonts or third party plugins.

  • Which 13in Macbook Pro to get?

So i'm a student who does do some occasional design work in illustrator and photoshop. I do listen to quite a bit of music and watch my fair share of streaming videos. I'm torn between getting the stock 13in 2.6Ghz macbook pro or upgrading the Processor, Ram, or both. I want my macbook to last for 4 years with this kind of usage.
Please any suggestions in helping me figure this out would be greatly appreciated!

Unless you really need to splurge TODAY for tax reasons, I would wait a couple of weeks for the i5/i7 MacBook Pros. They will be dual-core, as well, but they should be considerably faster.
As for 4GB vs. 8GB: The difference should be more or less noticeable depending upon what you do - if you use huge virtual instruments like The Grand or Vienna Strings in parallel with a bunch of other plug-ins, 8GB will give you a lot more peace of mind.
HOWEVER: on the current machines, you need 4GB sticks to get to 8GB, and those are disproportionately expensive at the moment. I'd live with 4GB and upgrade in a year or so, when the prices have dropped enough to make it a no-brainer.

  • 13in macbook pro Retina?

Heard they were making a 13in Retina, any one have any insight on that?
Or would the Current modeled 13in MBP be well enough off.

If you go to the Store button at the top of this site, the menu bar that is, and then follow the connections to the MacBook Pros you can see what models are being made and sold.  If a 13" MBPr is not listed, it is not available.
The 13" MBP is a very good machine, may not have the resolution of a Retina but still very good.

  • I am purchasing new 13in MacBook Pro.. Need info on Video editing

  • I am planning on purchasing an Apple 13in MacBook Pro through AAFES online (Army and Airforce Exchange).  Do all MacBook Pro computers without retina display come with a SuperDrive?

Do all MacBook Pro computers (without retina display) come with a CD/DVD drive?

Up to the Mid-2012 models, yes.

  • Should I get the 13in MacBook Air or the 13in MacBook Pro(non retina)

I will be starting college soon and need a computer that will serve as my main and only computer but I also want good mobility as I travel a lot and also want to take it to class everyday also I plan on starting price for both so no upgrades. I like the MacBook Air for its mobility and longer battery life, but it only comes with 128 GB, while the MacBook Pro comes with 500 GB hard drive and also can take disks. Its 128 GB enough for the average user? Also can you guys tell my what other  advantages each computer has over the other thanks

defenatly get the 13 inch macbook air,It is super light and it's battery life is some what ok,but if you are concerned on storage space you can always buy an external device they will save you a ton of money in the long run.You always have the option of buying an external optical disk to.The best part of the Macbook air is it's flash storage its 9 times faster storage transfer than the non retina macbook pro.The macbook pros with retina display do not have a cd drive ether.I have the macbook air 13 inch and its great 2 years old and works and looks like its brand new [except for the battery life].

  • Does the magsafe 2 converter work with with the 13in MacBook Pro(2012)?

i was just wondering if the MagSafe 2 Converter worked with the 13" MacBook Pro(2012)

The spec's page only say "MagSafe power port" - doesn't specify if it's the original or the newer '2'. The Retina spec's a MagSafe 2...
I guess you'll just have to wait until someone with a 2012 non-Retina MBP comes along...

  • My 13in Macbook Pro can't see a wireless network but my friends Macbook Pro can

Me and my friend both have identical 13 in Macbook Pro's except he has 250 gb and I have 350gb. Everything else is the same even the wireless card. The problem is, he can see and connect to a unsecured wireless network but i can't. Why is this ?
Our computers can see the same networks on the list but my Macbook does not see one network, the unsecured network !!!

I never said there wasn't an issue, just that blame could not be assigned based on what we know now and that there are many more people not having problems with Leopard and WiFi than those that are.
In my circle of associates I know of literally hundreds of Mac owners, of which approximately three are having WiFi issues.
I know how frustrating it is to be one of those afflicted - my stories of constant WiFi drops for the first six months I owned my MBP have been recounted in several threads.
But it's just as frustrating to read how Leopard is just plain broken when in fact I've not seen a single WiFi drop in Tiger or Leopard since February 2007.
This is also why I've continually urged people experiencing the problem to open an AppleCare case - it's only then that Apple Engineering can find the commonalities in cases where WiFi is failing and either fix their driver or notify the router manufacturer of their bug.
Are there bugs with AirPort in Leopard? Of course, and I even know of one that affects me on occasion that's known, and that's a failure to reassociate with a known network when waking from sleep. The workaround is simple - toggle AirPort off and back on - but it's a known issue nevertheless.
But each of these threads addresses an individual problem, and among the numbers of people experiencing difficulties, few report that their Mac sees no wireless networks, and that's what the advice I've given in this thread is geared towards.

  • FCP and 13in macbook pro

heres the deal...i need to know if i can run FCP on a 13in macbok pro, the $1499 model? i havent had experience with a mac in over 5 years and ive only used a PC with premire to edit video, and frankly im kind of lost. i can really only afford the 13in and will only using it to do rough cuts at home- my main work will be at school using the colleges mac pros in their editing suites. any help would be greatly appreciated.

You'd be better off buying a refurb 15"... Look for an Intel machine... these older machines have more ports, and will do you MUCH better than the current 13" machines.
    http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals/mac?mco=MTE3NjY
These macs change daily or even every few hours, so keep your eye's peeled there. Saw a 15" there for less than what you're looking at new. I really believe I'm steering you in the right direction too...

  • Can my 13in macbook pro run diablo 3?

The specs of my macbook pro include
    2.9 GHz intel core i7
    8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    intel hd graphics 4000 512MB
    728.48GB free out of 749.3
will my macbook pro mid 2012 run diablo 3 smoothly without any issues just curious need advice, if its okay to purchase it or not

    A 13-inch MacBook Pro doesn't meet minimum requirements for it > https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/diablo-iii-system-requirements
The GPU of the 13-inch MacBook Pro isn't designed to use games, so they won't work properly unless you choose low graphic settings. If you want to play games, go for the 15-inch MacBook Pro
