14, like 13 and 11 still has crash plugins, making inoperable progs
I had almost continual crashes in plugins for 11 and 13, and 14 is behaving no differently, despite a reboot.
My skype doesn't work, nor does Dragon Naturally speaking pro and at times any online games..
In 13, on occasions worked for games, unitil I tried to load and use Skype or DNS, when the crashes started again and it some times took several rebbots before I could get games or videos, like utube, to work.
This is a serious defect in Adobe. I have been reporting this problem on and off for 18 months. Why hasn't it been fixed?
I have tried uninstalling the plugins (not the latest version) and reinstalling but save for a week or so in the last week or so of , I think, 12, before 13 was installed, when Skype and DNS worked (after uninstalling Adobe reader XI and reinstalling) when it worked, the crashes have continued unabated.

Have been to Skype forum, and will try a DNS forum, but they had no answers at the time to the crashes/non functionallity.

I have 4 Trojan Horse viruses on my external drive I use for Time Machine. My MacBook Pro hard drive is clean. I have eased the external drive 3 times using Disk Utility and it still has the 4 Trojan Horse viruses. How do I get rid of them. I am using 10.8.3 Wayne

Those look alot like file names and not infection names. I don't find any reference to anything like that on Norton or VirusTotal. Since you said these were Trojans, I would expect to see "Trojan" as part of the infection name.
".jar" files are executable Java applets. The random alpha-numerics would seem to indicate a cache file, likely from a browser with Java enabled. And we all know what ".zip" means.
Worst case is that you had Java enabled in a browser and were infected by one of the late variants of the Flashback Trojan over a year ago or one of a couple of other attacks using the same vulnerability but targetted against a small number of political sympathizers. Much more probable is that thes were Windows only Trojans. Hopefully you have a fully up-to-date OS X, including Java, and have disabled Java in all your browsers by now. -
Changed from iCloud Backup to Mac Backup now I have less storage on my iPhone (I had 4GB free, then I had 1.2 MB free) , now I'm back on iCloud and it still has less free storage.. any help?

iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.4. 16GBUnfortunately, the only way to remove a restrictions passcode is to restore your phone as new, without using a backup (because the backup simply restores the restriction passcode back to your phone). You could, of course, restore the backup again and save as much of your data as you can before restoring it as new again. For example, you could use an app like My Contacts Backup to back up your contacts as a vCard attachment to an email that you send to your self. You can later open this email on your phone after restoring it as new and tap the attachment to import your contacts back to your phone. You can also import your photos and videos to your computer as explained here: iOS: Import personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer, then sync them back to your phone later or transfer them back over your wifi using an app like PhotoSync.

Get the account information from the person you bought it from. If they can't or won't give it to you, then return it for a refund. It's probably stolen. There is no way past activation lock.

i bought a iphone 5s from gumtree. While trying to activate it i realised there was an account linked to it through an apple id. it doesnt say the phone is in lost mode and it still has warranty. am i able to get a fix from apple?

if the device is on ios 7.1 or above there's two things.
1) the device may be restored to factory settings - but the phone can't be activated. imei unlock is different to Iphone activatio. - your friend unlocked it to use any sim in any country. iOS 7 forces you to restore the phone and reimpit the original icloud login. This can only be solved if you a)forgot the login/changed it, and can prove to apple youre the owner; b) to get the original owner to deauthorize his account associated with the phone, on his/her computer.
2)if there's also a Passcode lock on the phone, and the last registered sim doesn't work (in the case of a stolen phone) - then it's impossible for you to do anything, full security = restore will lead to activation lock immediately. There's no bypass to it, the fake videos online only allow a bypass if the device was a 'jailbrokem' one - which would invalidate apple trying/ever wanting to help you.
if you know who the phone belonged to previously (usually comes up with the icloud username on it) then you can ask them to deactivate it.
otherwise, you have what we call - a brickb- won't even work as a super iPod touch

When you connect the iPod to the adapter or PC, you should see either of these signs on the iPod Screen .
If you just get
It may mean that your Adapter is not giving enough juice, because
the adapter or the cable is defective or
your bottom dock connector is dirty with lint or dirt.

hi um i have the ipod 5 and my computer seems to be fine with the wifi but when i pressed wifi and my wifi does not pop up it i put it on airplane mode reset the networks erased my safari history . and it still has not read my wireless internet ?

my i pod is still on a white screen after restoring with the two buttons and also restoring on i tunes and it still has a white screen
I've been struggling with mine all morning with the same issue.
Mine would not wake up from sleep (will just white screen).
It will boot using a hard reset (i.e. the power button and volume down button being held down for 8 or so secs). I restored and synced it multiple times but it still has a problem waking up and just just goes to white screen.
I saw a post suggesting a loose connection which I had my doubts about (as it will wake with hard reset) - bit BINGO! If I wake mine (with index finger) whilst applying pressure to the top of the screen area (with my thumbs) it will wake up. When I become frustrated enough I'll take it apart and see if something has become loose.

I have a third generation iPod touch. It's worked just fine until recently. The battery goes out very very very fast. But the main issue is that all my apps (which is why I use the iPod, to play them) crash after using them for 5 minutes, this does include the built in apps like photos and calendar ect.. I have had this for about 3 years and love it very much it's not damaged at all. I Have taken very good are of it . Is it time for a new iPod or can I fix it please help!!!! Thanks!!

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Yeah, Firefox and Flash Player isn't a super stable combination on Windows 8.1 at the moment. We're collaborating closely with Mozilla to improve that, but that effort is going to happen over several months.
In the meantime, you might want to take a look at the other options. Microsoft invested a lot of time and effort into making the Flash experience on Win8.1 really good in IE, as did Google with Chrome. -

I just updated to the newest version of firefox for my mac laptop. It keeps crashing when I open the browser and does so even in safe mode. Laptop is about two years old. Might it be an issue with the OS? I have not updated to Leopard yet.
It seems that the problem is related to fonts.
(1) How were you updating your operating system ?
If you use *_Software Update_*, hurry up, download and apply the combo updater available from :

but CAUTION, this update introduce a serious problem with some fonts. At this time the only workaround available is to reinstall 10.6 tyhen apply the combo updater 10.6.6 available from :

(2) if you didn't used *_Software Update_*, run a maintenance tool like the free MAINTENANCE available from :
http://www.titanium.free.fr/index_us.html
Apply it to clear caches files, mainly those dedicated to fonts.
It would be also a good idea to check the health of your fonts with FontBook.
