1400 Series IOS Command

Does anyone know what is the command I can use to show me the signal strength of the antennas during the installation process?
What I have been doing is to do a linktest and then show log to see what happenned.  I think there should be a better way that the screen will update with all the data when there is a change in signals strength.
Thank you.

If they aren't assocaited and the bridges are in Install Mode you can use the LED's

  • Aironet 1242 IOS Commands

I am trying to set   airnoet 1242 access point model #AIR-LAP1242AG-A-K9 and I am using the guide found at
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/access_point/12.3_7_JA/configuration/guide/s37frst.html
The IOS version is 12.3(11)JX1 but when I try any of the standard IOS commands(configure terminal is not a valid command) I get an "unreconized command" error I also can not access the web GUI. I have set the ip and can ping it but when I browse to it I get nothing.
I would be greatful for any help.

    Hi,
If you follow Robs document, you need to download the IOS softeare and rename the filename to " c1240-k9w7-tar.default " as this is the filename the AP seaches for during boot up.

If you follow the steps i mentioned, you do not need to rename the file.
To get the IOS images you can go to the download software section on www.cisco.com.
The latest IOS release for 1240 APs is "c1240-k9w7-tar.124-21a.JY.tar".

  • "Restart Now" IOS command for 1310 Wireless Bridge

I have 2 Cisco Aironet 1310 wireless bridges setup, line-of-sight, 3/4 mile apart, one as Root, the other as Non-Root.  Occasionally they drop their connection but a hard restart of either or both bridges will reestablish the connection.  What is the equivalent IOS command to the
"GUI > System Software > System Configuration > Restart Now" command?  I would like to be able to telnet to either/both units and issue/script the appropriate command.

    the command is "reload"

  • 1400 series bridge and antenna

    dear all
i have 2 offices distance between them is 3.5 kilometers. i want to link between them thru 1400 series bridge.
but i'm not clear abt the location, bcoz the next office is 3.5 km away so i dont know which side it is, so in this case, how can i select the antenna, is it possible to cover this 3.5 km with 1300 series Access points.
how can i complete this connectivity please guide me.

    Hi
I recommend you to work with 1400 bridge antenna (dish, sector or omni). If you want a point to point link , then you can work with 2 dish antennas (3,5 Km is a small distance for this antennas)

  • ACS 5 and IOS command issued records

on ACS Ver5.2.0.26.11, where can i find the records of IOS command issued from a router?
    thanks,
    Han

    Well, it depends.
If you're sending accounting messages for commands from your router, it would either be in the report with Radius Accounting or TACACS+ Accounting.
If you're performing command authorization it would be in the report for TACACS+ Authorization.
If you provide a 'show run | inc aaa' it should be enough detail to determine what report you need to look at.

  • Which IOS command allows me to check AP's current working mode?

    Hi All,
I would like to know that my AP is working in root mode or workgroup bridge mode. I can check it via web browser. Just curious how to check it via IOS command. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Robert,
Perform the "show run interface dot0" command to show the running-configuration for your dot11radio0 interface. Look for the command line that starts with "station-role". This will tell you what role your radio is in.
For example, if it is "station-role root bridge", the radio is configured as a root bridge. If it's just "station-role root", then it's configured as an infrastructure AP.
This is what Rob is saying, but a bit more specific. I don't know of there being a "show" command that states what the radio's role is.

  • What IOS command similar to catos command 'set port vtp X disable'

    Hi,
Does anyone know if a similar command of catos command 'set port vtp X disable' exists in native IOS (12.1E or 12.2SX) on cat6500?
We still can play in native IOS with VTP pruning, transparent mode but it seems that we can no more disable VTP on a particular port/interface.
    Many thanks.
    Regards/Ludovic.

While one may not be able to disable VTP directly, I would think you could use a MAC ACL against the VTP MAC address of 01-00-0C-CC-CC-CC. (See http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/tech/tk389/tk689/technologies_tech_note09186a0080094c52.shtml for details on how that addressing works.)

  • FXO/FXS IOS COMMAND ISSUES

    Hello,
I've got 2 1760 routers with each a VIC2-4FX0 and VIC-FXS/DID cards. I've got 128mb of system RAM in them, running IOS c1700-advsecurityk9-mz.124-3.bin, which is supposed to be a voice ios with advanced feat. pack according to Cisco's website. I've also got 2x of the needed dsp's (can't remember model number, but its only 1 dsp chip on it - again cisco said 1 dsp would handle 4 channels, unless we're using the high-end codecs. My issue is that I cannot issue any of the voice-port commands. I don't think the hardware is somehow installed correctly. When I issue a "show hardware", they are not listed, however, when I capture a boot, they are listed as "card in slot 2/ card in slot 3" where the router allocates memory to devices.
Can anyone please help? And by the way, these are default no config, all I have done on the one is give a hostname, fastethernet ip and some basic password sec. and that's it.

  • Need help with IOS commands to see wireless printer

Seems that I'm not asking the question correctly, or providing the right information.
    The problem:
I've purchased a wireless printer, (an HP 6500a) and I can not see / ping / use the printer on the wireless network.
    Environment:
Cisco 891 ISR in standalone. Single office - Home-office environment. Nothing spectacular. WLAN connected and operational to the internet.
The printer is configured to use a static IP of 10.0.0.3 and reports that it is connected to the AP. However, when I ping FROM the command line at the AP, I DO NOT see the printer. (I did previously, but we lost power last night due to a storm and I'm still trying to reconfigure it...) DHCP is configured on the router to exclude the range 10.0.0.1 through 10.0.0.99
How do I configure the wireless router to allow any connected client to share files / printers etc? Seems that the Cisco router has this shut off
by default and I've found nothing in the user manual or by asking for help on here how to reverse this so that I can share printers / files on the LAN.
Please, I'm not stupid, but I'm only casually familiar with IOS and Cisco's networking terms.
    Thanks in advance,
    -Mike

  • IOS command equivalent.

    Hello,
Is there any command equivalent on ASR9k for
show interface summary ( from IOS)
    and
    monitor capture buffer
    regards,

    Hi,
There is a show int summary, but the output is not precisely the same as IOS.
You can also use a show int accounting or a show ip int brief if that helps there?
As for the monitor buffer, in XR431 (not out yet) we have a great packet capture methodology:
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-29010
And of course you can use SPAN also:

  • CISCO IOS : command not explicitly entered

    Hi Cisco Expert,
If a command is not explicitly entered, will this mean it is not applied.
For example, if the command "no service finger" not entered, this means finger service is not enabled?
    Regards,
    Jhun

    Hi Jhun,
Yes - no service finger = finger service is disabled.
In general IOS will not accept an ambigious command, and so as long as the command is accepted, the IOS believes it is unambiguous and accepts the command. It may still be a good idea to 'tab' out the commands to ensure the intended command is entered.

  • IOS command "Virtual-profile AAA" no more available

I'm istalling a 3745 Router with IOS release 12.3(8).T6, in order to support the new NM-CE1T1-PRI Cards and replace an old AS5200 access server.
I need to configure virtual profiles for dial-in multilink users, and want to load some additional parameters from a TACACS Server (Cisco Secure ACS).
I noticed that the global configuration command "virtual-profile aaa" is no more available in the CLI, although this command is documented in the IOS 12.3 command reference.
Has anyone an idea why ? May be that this depends from the "T" train of the IOS ?
Any help would be really appreciated !

I think this command is not supported in latest versions of IOS

  • Stopping a series of commands once they've begun

sometimes with a large file in Photoshop, I hold down the forward arrow to move myself forward in my timeline--and as my animation inches forward, i realize i've reached a point at which i'd like to stop.  i want to cancel out the remaining "forward" commands.  But photoshop just keeps moving forward, turtle-like. unresponsive to a "backward arrow."  Is there any way to stop a series of "move forward" commands once it's been set in place?

It's serial communication and i have been using the basic read write serial command vi already, except i only enter 1 command like at a time.  These are what my command lines that my motors takes looks like:
    @16 145\r
    @16 154 11 50000\r
    @16 165 10\r
    @16 165 532\r
    @16 165 1802\r
Obviously, the 5 strings are of different sizes.  Mroeover, where exactly is this "string array" that you are referring to?  i guess i have to build it myself but i just looked through the array menu and string menu and i'm not sure which one to use.  Here are th eones that i fuond that i think could be possible: spreadsheet string to array (but i;m not sure where the spreadsheet string is).  Any help?? thanks
