1424 does not pass diagnostics after running program

Hello, we are using the PCI-1424 card with a Dalsa linescan camera, and are having trouble trying to do ring acquisitions with different buffer sizes. The camera either times out or always returns the number of lines that it is first set to, ie; if the original number of lines is 100, and the number of lines is then set to 1000 (and confirmed using imgGetAttribute(DisplaySid, IMG_ATTR_ACQWINDOW_HEIGHT, &nBufSize).
I've noticed that the 1424 board does not pass 2 of the diagnostic tests in MAX. The details it returns are:
Advanced Control Circuitry failed
Configuration could not be written to when Confwren bit was set. [F1.5]
Timing Circuitry failed
Counter configuration could not be loaded. [T1.0
Is this a programming error on my part? I am closing the session and the interface, which in my opinion should be all that is needed to reset the board to the default settings. This does not work, even the snap acquisition in MAX fails.

I'm not surprised at the behavior that you are seeing. When the acquisition is started the board is programmed with the acquisition size and when you change that it has to reprogram the board while it is acquiring, so either it will timeout or it just won't do it and you will only see the first size. I'm not sure why the diagnostics are failing but it sounds like you can reboot and that resolves the issue. I would recommend looking into a couple of alternatives. Variable Height Acquistion uses a hardware signal to indicate how many lines should be in an image. If you didn't have a signal you could generate one with a DAQ card or you could programmatically assert
and deassert one of the trigger lines on the 1424 but that would not be the most accurate depending on your line rate. The other alternative would be to set the image size to the largest size and then just crop the images.

I am using Labview to control HP4275A LCR meter. The Labview program is just the instrument driver for the HP4275A, and it works great. Before running the program, the instrument can pass both Open and Short test perfectly. But after running the program, it can not pass self test, neither Open nor Short. I don't know why?? Is it relative to my Labview program??

Thank you so much for your help. Yes, the instrument is in Local after running the instrument driver. In normal Open self test, just choose Capactiance as the Display A, and leave the four output terminals open then press the Self Test button. The Open self test will start and "OP" will be shown in the DIsplay A window, after 2 seconds, the open test will be finished. If something abnormal, the number of the abnormal step is displayed in Display A. Similar with the Short test.
The problem I had was: before running the instrument driver, the self tests pass; but after running the instrument driver, the Open and Short test show abnormal, Open test is abnormal at step 17, and Short test is abnormal at step 24.
And the instrument driver is only write commands into the instrument and then read back measuring values from it. Nothing else. So I am not sure if the problem is my instrument driver.
The weird thing is the problems happened several times and then if I do the Open and Short self test again after running the instrument driver, both pass. I am not sure whether the problem will come back or not.

Hi, I have a macbook pro from 2008 and now its giving me strat up problems, it does not pass the apple logo, and when it does sometimes the screen flickers and I can't do anything else but to turn it off.

I would take it into an Apple store or AASP.

I downloaded the app 'touch' but it will not open. I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but when I click on it, it still will not open. Whenever I restart my phone the first message that pops up is 'Touch does not have proper permission to run.' I have no clue how to solve this problem please help!

Cisco 881 ISR IPSec VPN Tunnel does not pass traffic from the vlan.

I have a cisco 881 ISR Router with a site-to-site IPsec vpn tunnel to a mikrotik device on the other end (I inherited this from my client). The tunnel is constructed properly and is up, however traffic does not pass or get routed to the FA4 interface. I see in my packet captures that it hits the vlan1 interface (vlans are required on the L2 ports) and does not pass to the tunnel.

ORB does not perform clean up after destroy() is called.

hi,
the HelloClient example (POA model) which is provided in the Java IDL tutorials, does not perform clean up after the execution is complete.
i.e. i can still find the Socket descriptors in the file system under the path (/proc/p_id/fd). Do we need to explicitly destroy the sockets inorder to perform the required clean up??the OS i'm using is Linux.
if yes, then how do i do that.... the following are the steps to reproduce the problem:
1)start HelloServer
2)start HelloClient
3)check file count in /proc/process_id/fd before calling init.
4)invoke ORB.destroy() method.
5)check file count in /proc/process-id/fd after destroy completes.I have included Thread.sleep(25000) inorder to check the file count dynamically at each stage of execution.
Any help in this regard is welcome....!!

This reply may be long after the time that you need it ... but the problem
that you are experiencing sounds very much like a bug that was fixed in the J2SE 1.5.0_10 release.
It is bug 6354718 ....
In the evaluation section of that bug they note:
Yes. It's a known bug in ORB connection management. What's happening here is, the connectionCache that maintains both inbound and outbound connections does not reclaim connections, upon ORB destroy() call. There is a connection reclaim() logic in place, but does not kick in, until it reaches certain watermark levels. Since, a single client can have a multiple ORBs and thereby multiple outbound connections (in the reported case) , with each cache having exactly one connection which leaks up on ORB exit. This leak multiplies based on the number of ORBs and time period over which client stays live, up and running.
The solution is, to walk through the connection cache and close each connection,
no matter what the watermark levels are. This can be done at the corba transport manager close() call.
Note: In the above evaluation they tell you how to fix it yourself but I believe (I haven't tested it yet ....) that if you upgrade to JDK 1.5.0_10, you should find that it has been fixed for you.
I hope that I'm not steering you wrong, but that's my take on your situation.

I would try reinstalling.
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks without erasing drive
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.

The Porblem here is the application is seen started in visual administrator.Only restart brings up the page back.

IPod shuffle does not recognized by iTunes after restore

Hello
I have a iPod shuffle (4th gen) and a windows laptop.
After restoring my iPod shuffle (as directed by iTunes), iTunes does not recognized my iPod anymore.
The data in the iPod has been deleted (ie return to the factory settings), but iTunes does not proceed to prompt me to name my iPod and set up sync options etc, it simply does nothing and does not recognize my iPod.
I went on My Computer, and reformatted the iPod shuffle again. As a result of the reformatting, iTunes recognizes my iPod but it requires me to restore my iPod back to factory settings again. It became a cycle of either recognizing the iPod but asking me to restore it; or does not recognize my iPod after restoration.
Please kindly assist me with this situation as it is rather frustrating.
iTunes is in the latest version as I have attempted the trouble shooting support on the webpage.

When I try to install Itunes 9.2 on my XP 32bit machine, I get the error message "Itunes does not pass windows logo testing to verify CD/DVD rom drives this software will not be installed. Contact your administrator" I am the owner & my account has administrator rights. When I start itunes i get the message "Itunes was not properly installed if you wish to burn Cds you will need to reinstall itunes" Any ideas what i should do anyone?

That sounds like the GEAR drivers that iTunes uses for burning and importing aren't going in properly. (or there's damaged GEAR drivers for an old install stuck on the PC.
Perhaps manually uninstalling and reinstalling the GEAR drivers can get you past this. There's instructions for that on the GEAR wiki:

But i need to retain its state.
