1440 or 1920 when archiving

Hi all
I am still using an old HDV camera when shooting material which goes into FCP X fine enough. I know I can't lay off to tape as I used to with the old FCP so it's important that I get the archiving correct. Thus, a conundrum. My project (or sequence) is set automatically to 1440 x 1080 within FCPX and if I do a straight export those are the dimensions the QT is set to. In the older versions of FCP, if I did a straight export, the QT would be 1920 x 1080. Should I therefore change the dimensions before exporting. Or am I just plain worrying about nothing!
Thanks
Richard

I saved my old HV20 (HDV) videos as 1920x1080  simply to ensure simplicity and ease of playback plus compatibility with subsequent 1920x1080 footage.
1440x1080 video contains a flag that should tell the playback application to resize it to 16:9  but on occasions I have found that this is not recognised, so making it 1920x1080 will prevent that problem recurring.
Assuming you have the space, keeping both versions is the ideal  .  .  .  together with the original tapes.

  • Employee Photo Upload Fail - "System error when archiving"

    Hi all,
       When i am trying upload a photo of an employee in our ESS development portal its working fine. • TOA_DARA fields empty when Archiving SD invoices

    Hi gurus,
    We have a problem when archiving SD invoices. In some cases, when archiving, are ocurring errors that shows on SM58.
    The error is always:
    <<
    ARCHIV_CREATE_TABLE            SAP_AL_OUT                       21.06.2011 18:22:23 SAP ArchiveLink: tipo objeto no asign.a ningún arc hivo (Customizing)
    >>
    And it's generated when saving the invoice from transaction VF01
    We thought the problem could be that the object type was not maintained on the system but that's not the case, the problem is that the type is coming empty.
    Watching inside the error, these fields are empty:
    AR_OBJECT (should be SDINVOICE)
    SAP_OBJECT (should be VBRK)
    OBJECT_ID (should have the invoice number)
    We were thinking about this TOA_DARA structure determination, but we could not see where it's been generating.
    Do you know how is it possible that "sometimes" these fields go empty when processing sd invoices messages?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Sudheer,
    In my case, I saved the TOA_DARA params into an aux var just before calling the OPEN_FORM. Then, I checked the params before calling the function which archives.
    clear toa_dara_aux.
    toa_dara_aux = toa_dara.
    CALL FUNCTION 'OPEN FORM'...
    if toa_dara is initial.
         toa_dara = toa_dara_aux.
    endif.
    CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERT_OTF_AND_ARCHIVE'
         EXPORTING
              arc_p = arc_params
              arc_i = toa_dara
              format = 'PDF'
         TABLES
              otf = otf.

    But I can't see the picture from ESS ,only a frame is coming. The URL
    of the picture is <R3 hostname>:8000. But the ITS service i.e content

    comming. I can't store any picture from ESS ..."System error when

    I can delete the picture in TOAHR table from the ESS by removing the

    Hi,
    Thanks for ur reply. But I have already gone through the steps. I can see the picture from R3 and store it there. But the problem is in ESS (portal). I can't store it from ESS as the address it going to store is <R3 hostname>:8000/fp/bc/contentserver........The actual should be <R3 hostname>:8001/fp/bc/contentserver........
    Plz suggest me where from it take the value 8001 in portal for employee pic. For all other T-iview  working fine. Telnet to 8000 is not possible, but 8001 is ok.

  • Create IDOC when archive a material

    Hi Guys
    Is it possible to create an IDOC when a material is archieved using MM70. My program is working fine with creation, deletion and change but for archieving its not creating any IDOC. (I am using a zBD10 Program)
    Please suggest a way.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Avinash ,
    I don;t have an authorization to check the TCOde SARA .I sugest you can do some R&D with the obejct "MM_MATNR" in the tcode SARA to check which field is changes when archiving the material
    If you know which field is changed (tablename-fieldname), you can check if it is changer pointer enabled.
    Check out the thread

  • 1440 to 1920 multiclip

    hi, wondering the best quality option for mixing full size 1920 1080p footage in prores with 1440 1080 p hdv footage to edit in a multi clip. (they have to be exactly same format to work as a multiclip)
    previously I converted the 1440 using compressor to convert from hdv format to pro res 1920
    or would i be better capturing as prores then changing it from 1440 to 1920 in compressor
    or I own a matrox mini and apparently that can capture from hdmi and convert to 1920? if this is true will that do a better quality job? then thru firewire?
    not able to test it yet , wondering if anyone has experience of this?
    many thanks

    I'm wondering the same thing. Getting into ProRes is the easy bit (especially using the excellent Ken Stone guide and the site he links to) However capturing HDV via ProRes results in a 1440 x 1080 clip rather than the full size 1920 footage you get from an AVCHD cam - so, how to get them both the same resolution so that FCP will let you mult clip them together..?
    I have two live shows I need to resolve this for! Do we upscale the HDV originated ProRes files in Compressor? I'd imagine that will take a while, but what settings to use? Confused!

  • LOST DATA WHEN ARCHIVING

    Is there any way to protect my data when archiving? I am losing past events on my calendar because the "Save archive copy to PC" doesn't stay checked all the time when purging happens.
    Post relates to: Treo 755p (Sprint)

    The best way to preserve your data is to export the data in each category in Palm Desktop to a seperate folder on your PC.
    Create a new folder on your PC somewhere that is convenient. Name it something like Palm Desktop Data. Click on the link below and follow the instructions on that page for the export procedure.
    http://www.palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?ID=28734
    Make sure you select all for the range in the export window.
    With the data saved in the folder you created, make a copy of that folder and save to a flash drive, cd-rw or external hard drive.
    Anytime you make a change in Palm Desktop, export the data that was changed to that folder and save again to the external media.
    With this process you can always import the data back into Palm Desktop anytime you have a problem with the data in Palm Desktop or if your computer/hard drive/device crashes.

  • Retention Period Not maintained Error when Archiving

    Dear Experts,
    i am trying to Archive the Archiving Object(MM_EKKO) but i have got the error below
    "Retention Period Not maintained" Error
    i tried to read different forums on this issue but am not sure i understand why this error happens.
    i appreciate your fast response!
    best regards

    Hai,
    In SPRO - IMG - MM - Purchasing - Define tolerance limit for archiving. In this maintain the residence time 1 & residence time 2 for the Purchasinh doc type & also with item category also.
    Define Tolerance Limit for Archiving
    In this step, you specify how long external purchasing documents are retained unchanged in the database before being archived.
    You can define two time periods, via which you control the archiving of the documents:
    Residence time 1 for items without a deletion indicator
    Before the deletion indicator is set for a document item, the system checks when the relevant item was last changed. In the process, a change in the PO quantity is taken into account in just the same way as a goods receipt, for example.
    The date of the last change is compared with the current date. If no change has been made within the residence time 1 entered , the deletion indicator is set for the item.
    Residence time 2 for items with a deletion indicator
    For document items for which the deletion indicator was set manually or during the archiving run, the system checks how many days have elapsed since the deletion indicator was set.
    The whole document is only archived if:
    The deletion indicator has been set for all items of the document
    None of the items have been changed during the residence time 2 entered - i.e. the last change is the setting of the deletion
    The archived documents are then deleted from the database.

  • Acrobat XI aborts when archiving emails in Outlook 2010

    I'm trying to archiving emails in Outlook 2010 as a PDF.  When I set the folders to archive and execute, it will run but abort and cancel the job after only partial completion.  There is no specific folder or email where this happens.  It appears to be random but I have yet to complete a full archive on my Outlook emails.  I know others have had similar problems but there doesn't seem to be many  responses.  Perhaps Adobe personnel could provide some solutions to this.  I'd appreciate any help.  Thanks.

    Windows 8.1
    MS Outlook 2010
    Adobe Acrobat XI Std. v. 11.0.10

    Hi gilamonster0723,
    Is Acrobat working fine with all other tools?
    Please try repairing Acrobat from the Help menu.
    Have you tried setting up automatic archival of the emails from the Adobe PDFMaker option?
    What happens? Is this working fine?
    Please check and let me know.

  • Can I control  filenaming when archiving  files using the file adapter?

    Hi folks,
    Is there anyway to control the filename used when the File Adapter writes out to an archive?
    Second question, I also need to be able to pass a "filename" to the adapter from an "input file." Is there a way to do this in the file adapter?
    Sincerely,
    lpac

    Hi,
    I have done that with the ftp adapter. In the .xsl file I wrote the following after the <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" ....> tag:
    <xsl:variable name="INFILENAME" select="ehdr:getRequestHeader('/fhdr:InboundFTPHeaderType/fhdr:fileName','fhdr=http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/ftp/;')"/>
    <xsl:template match="/">
    <xsl:variable name="OUTFILENAME"
    select="ehdr:setOutboundHeader('/fhdr:OutboundFileHeaderType/fhdr:fileName', $INFILENAME, 'fhdr=http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/file/;')"/>
    <opaque:opaqueElement>
    <xsl:value-of select="/opaque:opaqueElement"/>
    </opaque:opaqueElement>
    </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    To use this with the file adapter, you would have to wirte file where is written ftp.
    Hope this helps,

  • Error when archiving app for distribution

    Hey guys here is a bit of info about my problem
    Basically I’m getting an error when I try to archive my app for distribution. The error has to do with my certificate/distribution/provisioning profile(s).
    Here's the error:
    Command /usr/bin/codesign failed with exit code 1
    If anybody has any pointers, would be highly appreciated.
    Cheers all
    BigMik

    Note that 'Command /usr/bin/codesign failed with exit code 1' is a generic error. There can be any number of reasons that can can combine in any number of ways to cause it.
    No one can pick your issue apart based on that error alone. You'll waste timing trying this and that, only to wind up back at TN2250, which is flatly your best resource.
    I can't emphasize enough that you need to follow it to the letter. A hit/miss trail/error approach WILL dig a hole that you'll never get out of and I suspect you're there now. Visit the iOS Dev Center to witness thread after thread and to see that you're just spinning your wheels otherwise.
    Your best approach now is to houseclean and start over. Then step thru TN2250, stopping when you don't understand any step and asking specific questions about it - use the iOS Dev Center forums.

  • To generate email alert when archive logs fill

    Hi. I was away yesterday and the archive logs were filling up and were at 92% when I got in this morning.
    I need to have an email generated once the /archlogs directory fills past 90%.
    The total size of that directory is 8064M. So once it hits around 7257M I would like an email fired to me and my boss.
    Oracle 9.2.0.5.0
    UNIX AIX 5.2

    In addition to Sybrand's reply, you might want to consider some other factors.
    First, when setting up email notifications, you need to adjust your expectations to account for the possible latency in email delivery. I have seen 'critical' emails take several hours to get through the system. This is not a function of Oracle, but of the email servers.
    Second, if archivelog destination filling up is an ongoing problem, I'd be looking at how my archivelogs are backed up and deleted - how I do my housekeeping on that destination. You should have more important things to do than constant monitoring and responding to 'destination full' conditions.

  • Changing Adobe Interactive Form Layout When Archiving

    We are using the adobe interactive forms (adobe liveCycle designer) to create forms for outgoing paper checks.   Because of security risks with reprinting checks, it is necessary to change the output of the checks when they are archived (writing 'VOID' over the check), while the form created in the print spool remains unchanged.  Is there a way to create dynamic fields on the interactive form based on when the form is being archived?  We are using the archiveLink functionality with an external optical storage app.  I know there is the possibilty to run the printing and the archiving process separately, using different form layouts, however, reconciliation becomes and issue and I would like to run both printing and archiving together in the same mass activity.

    Hi Brian,
    I have a requirement where I just need to Archive Adobe form in External repository.
    Since you are using the archiveLink functionality with an external optical storage app
    Can you please help me how you did?? What configurations need to be maintained for this?
    I am new to this. I did some Rnd on it and found that it can be achieved using HRFORM_HRF02 Business Add-In in the SET_ARCHIVE_INDEX method.
    But I have no clue how to do it?
    Can you please help me?

  • Name of the creator missing when archiving Adobe Form

    Hey,
    i have an problem when i archiving an adobe form after printing. I miss the name of the creator but i cannot find the arc_params like i find them when i'm printing with sap script.
    Thanks a lot.
    Regards,

    Hi,
    Saving the PDF to a set name is considered a security concern by Adobe. In order to achieve it you would need a trusted function, inside a JavaScript file. This .js file would be in a set folder on EVERYONE'S computer. This makes it difficult to deploy and maintain.
    See a thread here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/2266799#2266799.
    Hope that helps,
    Niall
