1440 x 852 resolution

i have a mbpro 15,4 high resolution. I've 49 and my eyesight is not like a young. I can't work all day long with the 1680 x 1050 resolution so i use 1440 x 852 ( why not 1440 x 900) but the desktop doesn't occupy all the screen; there are two black spaces at the top and at the bottom of the screen. Can i enlarge the screen ?  Can i enlarge the fonts with the 1680 x 1050 resolution
Thanks

I have SwitchResX not registered. (starting from 1680 x 1050) I have created a 1440 x 900 res in "Custom Resolutions" menu by clicking on "+" on the left-bottom corner.
After this i've choosen 1440 x 900 res from the "Display Resolutions" Menu
If you clik on the "eye" you can see this
In this way i have eliminated the black raws on the top and on the ground of the screen.
Besides this i use Mozilla Firefox because it remember the "cmd +"  command for the pages that i see frequently; so if i close Firefox and than i re-open it, it will display the same page with te size increased.

  • 1440 x 900 resolution DVI?

Will my Dual Core Mac Mini support 1440 x 900 resolution if I buy a Widescreen TFT LCD Monitor?
Mac Mini Intel Dual Core, 2gb RAM   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

There's no doubt the mini supports the resolution, and if the system correctly detects and identifies the display when connected, it would generally set itself to the display's default or native resolution, and offer (in the display preference panel) any other settings the display supports.
However, not all displays are correctly detected, and if not, initially the system will set itself to a low resolution default. If that happens, the display preference panel will not show the correct display model number, but you should be able to set it by clicking the 'detect display' button to force the system to check.
In a very few instances (and with some TVs connected) the system will still not correctly detect the display, in which case a third party utility such as SwitchResX would be needed. It rarely is for dedicated displays however, usually only for TVs.

  • 1440 x 900 resolution on X200

I have an X200s that supports 1440 x 900 resolution but my x200 only goes up to 1280 x 800 but appears to use the same chipset.  How can I get my x200 up to 1440 x 900 resolution?
    thanks.

you need a new WXGA+ LCD, i think that would cost around around 400 to 600 dollars.

I had a macbook pro, spilled an entire latte on it. Cannot afford to drop another 1500 on a new one. I understand the air is a great machine. And for someone that is hard on equipment (aside from liquid!) with no moving parts its a better option. This one is priced at $929 - good?

  • NX6600 VTD128E Diamond Edition does it support 1440 x 900 resolution

    Hi everybody
This is my first posting to this forum. I soon have all the parts together to build my new rig. The only thing missing is the monitor. I am very interested in the ViewSonic VA1912w which is a 19" LCD Wide Screen Monitor with the resolution 1440 x 900. To get the full performance the Graphic card should be able to support this resolution.  Thanks for your advice.

the graphic card should be able to do it, just make sure you install the monitor driver, which will either be on a disk included with it, or you may have to download it from the manufacturer's website, or through Windows Update

  • MB Pro 2011 15"  changes resolution after logging out

Within sleep mode or manually logging out on my high res 1680x 1050 MBPro 2011 15" the screen turns into 1440 x 852 resolution.
The system shows up to have 2 connected monitors
    main monitor stays at 1680 x 1050 and 2nd monitor with 1440 x 852
No chance to merge the screen - only re-boot helps !!

to test the issue try to install gfxcardstatus (so you can see which card you are using) and logout using intel card (close all app or open some like itunes, appstore...), the logout is ok.
now, to try using ati open app like cheese,firefox...
you can also switch card directly using gfxcardstatus .
i don't know if it is a bug for some new mbp or for all.

  • My new powerbook 17" resolution - comments please?

I've just started using my new powerbook 17" running it at 1680 x 1050 which is great, much more detail but only one snag, I design sites and am worried about how I view a site as I'm designing it as it's obvious it's smaller in proportion on screen.
Has anyone else any comments? I've tried flicking to 1440 x 900 which doesn't seem to exist anymore, only 1440 x 852 and this is really blurred compared to me old powerbook here in my office.
I'll definately get used to it I know but how about when I design sites for others.
    know what I mean?

If you use an LCD display in a resolution lower than the maximum resolution, you will have a blurred (not sharp) image.
On an LCD, the image is only rasor sharp when you use the natural resolution (that is the maximum resolution) of that specific LCD = 1680 x 1050 on the 17" PB.
The program "Art Direcor Toolkit" (included with your PowerBook) can display transparent rulers on your screen. The rulers can be in pixels. You can use it to resize your browser windows.
"Web Developper" is an extension for Firefox and Mozilla with which you can resize the browser window to predefined sizes.

  • External display has 1440x900 resolution but is not available

I've replaced my external display with a 19" LG widescreen (VGA) which claims to have a 1440 x 900 resolution available. However it does not come up as a possible resolution in the display prefs. LG couldn't shed any light on the matter saying it was down to the drivers and that 1440 x 900 was available in this model. I bought it specifically because the resolution matches the laptop screen.. anyone help?

    Hi Andrew,
what was the resolution of your former external display ?
Maybe the parameter of your formal display are interfering with your the ones for your new LG.
Try a PRAM reset according to this article: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=2238
Since Display and video settings such as refresh rate, screen resolution, number of colors are stored in the PRAM, maybe it helps.
Make sure that the new display is not connected when doing the reset.
    regards

  • Display resolution changed at reboot. cant go back.

My monitor (samsung 932nw) works wonders on 1440 x 900 resolution.
it has worked wonders with my mac mini for months but this morning when i started the machine the resolution had changed. when i went into the displays screen that resolution does not show up anymore, and if i set it to detect displays i just get a blank grey screen.
i even tried to switch manually with switch res x but it doesnt look right at all.
how did this happen and what can i do?
    thanks!

It sounds like possibly the preferences file for displays has become corrupt. In /Library/Preferences there should be a file labeled com.apple.windowserver.plist. Throw it in the trash. Also, for however many user accounts are on the mini, there should be files in /Users/name/Library/Preferences/ByHost that are named com.apple.windowserver.xxxxxxx.plist where xxxxxx is a hexidecimal string of letters and numbers and where name is the name on the account. Throw all of those files in the trash as well, then restart the mini.
When OS X restarts and finds those files missing from their expected location, it will generate fresh copies with factory default values. That should give the mini a fresh start with the Samsung monitor.
Note that throwing away the .plist files described above will also cause the loss of any custom color calibrations you may have done, or any other display specific preferences that may have been stored. Hopefully that doesn't matter to you. You can just redo them anyway. Good luck.

  • 2nd Display Low Resolution...

I just got my Macbook pro yesterday. It has the 8600gt 512 GFX. I also have a Samsung LCD Television which supports up to 1440 X 900 Resolution. Whenever I connect the Television to the Laptop Via VGA I can only get 800 X 600 Resolution. 1440 X 900 doesn't even show up as an option. Any suggestions?

    Maeius,
What sort of inputs does the TV have? If it has an HDMI port, you should use a DVI-HDMI cable, not VGA.

  • W540 720p Integrated HD Camera resolution

    Hi folks
I'm loving my new W540, despite all the bad reviews... not sure what they're on about, but, the one thing that is getting me down apart from the battery life is that the webcam picture quality is RUBBISH. It is a brand new laptop with supposedly a '720p HD camera' which does not appear to be the full package. To make matters worse my friends with macbooks look super-clear over skype!  I've found similar issues on the Lenovo forum related to previous thinkpads but the solutions are not specific enough to solve it.
I've tried downloading the latest drivers... no change.
And, taking a photo with a camera app reveals that it's operating at 800x600 resolution.
Any suggestions or solutions would be much appreciated.

  • MSI G31M3 and Samsung SyncMaster 943NWX resolution problem

hi.today i bought a new computer.i.e assembled.i have a MSI G31M3 motherborad and Samsung SyncMaster 943NWX 19" inch monitor. The box in Samsung SyncMaster 943NWX 19" inch monitor says that it has 1440*900 high resolution.I also know that it must have that much max resolution, thats why i bought this monitor. But the problem is that in desktop->setting.There is not any 1440*900 resolution to select.
First there was resolutions from 800*600 to 2080*XXXi forgot. But there wasn't any 1440*900 resolution to select. Not even in the range of 1440.There was only one 1400 range. Then i installed the driver came with the monitor and now the settings shows only resolution upto 1280*768.
So can anyone tell me whats going on?I search the net for this problem but has no luck.one guy was says to use Powerstrip tool but i have no luck.Though the powerstrip tools shows that my monitor has 1440*900 max resolution in its info section but the resolution doesn't show up in resoultion select range. So i guess my monitor is correct.
My question is that is it due to internal graphics that does support this resolution or something else. Please help me to solve this issue.

thankx a lot "NovJoe".I installed the intel.inf driver provided in the motherboard.I also installed the graphics accelerator/driver came in the CD and also driver downloaded from the intel site. Both look same driver. But no luck. And what do u mean by "intel 945G onboard graphics driver"?I guess  i have intel g31/33 graphic accelerator.do i need to install intel 945G onboard graphics driver as well? I have searched the net but can't find anyone with exact problem. There was one guy with similar problem but there is no solution.
