15" Macbook Charger (Model#: A1286) - Charger (Model#: A1290)
I have a 15" Macbook Pro (Model#: A1286). I accidentally misplaced my charger and was told by one of my friends he had a extra macbook charger. The macbook charger he has is a T-shaped 85W Charger (Model#: A1290). He said I could use it aslong as it works. I was wondering if someone could tell me if this charger would work on my laptop. Thanks.
Yes, it will work fine.

What is the right charger for a MacBook Pro 13" mid 2009 model?
What is the right charger for a MacBook Pro 13" mid 2009 model? I have two chargers for two different Mac and don't know which is thankswhich. I'm really looking for specific details such as voltage/watts and all the rest to idenify my charger. A link to where to web page where I could purchase the correct charger would also be very useful. Many thanks.
All help much appreciated. THANK YOUBoth power adapter I have are different (at the magnet end) from the one in link.
Earlier adapters have T shaped connectors, which Apple later changed to the L shape, presumably to make them more abuse-proof. Either one is fine and the one you are using will not damage your Mac.
Retina MBPs and new MBAs use a completely different MagSafe 2 connector which will not fit (without an adapter). -

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that your MacBook Air is not charging as expected. In this situation there are troubleshooting steps that I would recommend. Please use the attached article as a resource for steps to help you resolve this situation.
Mac notebooks: All about batteries - Apple Support
My battery is not charging
Confirm the correct wattage AC adapter for the computer. A power adapter rated for a lower wattage than is required for the system may not reliably charge the computer. For assistance identifying the proper adapter, review Intel Based Mac notebooks: Identifying the right power adapter and power cord--US. Additional adapter troubleshooting is available in Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters. If issues persist please reset the SMC.

Is it ok if I use ipod usb adapter model a1102 charger for my iphone 4?
You can use the A1102 charger to charge the iphone 5 as long as you have the lightning adapter. I just got off the phone with an apple tech, and you can use the A1102 charger to charge the Iphone 5.

Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I recommend starting with these steps if your MacBook Pro battery is not charging reliably:
Built-In Diagnostic Tools
A great place to start when troubleshooting battery issues is the built-in diagnostics that are available on your Mac notebook. Review the following articles for more information on using diagnostics.

The battery bought in the official service center in Bangkok. Now I left Thailand and can not change battery.

<Edited by Host>That makes things difficult. You can use your MBP as a 'desktop' with it connected with the power adapter but the performance will be degraded when the battery is totally discharged. The only other option that I can think of is shipping it to an Apple repair location.

My MacBook Pro will not charge.
Hi Apple Support Communities!
I have a 2006 MacBook Pro 1,1.
This computer is equipped with an Intel Core Duo processor, and 2 gigabytes of 667 DDR2 SDRAM.
It works absolutely fine, but I am having small problem with it: it will not charge. Since it is from 2006, Apple considers it to be "Vintage and Obsolete." I have no idea what is wrong with it, and am in need of it in proper working condition by this August. I do not have the original install discs for it, and have no way of running the hardware test to see if there are any problems. What do you all suggest? Thank you in advance!

you can contact Apple directly to purchase a replacement pair of grey DVDs for your MacBook Pro, which has (among other things) its model-specific Apple Hardware Test. (The Apple stores don’t stock the grey DVDs.)
Was your new battery sold by Apple, or was it manufactured by a third-party? Have you tried purchasing a different battery for your MacBook Pro, to make sure that the problem is not with the new battery currently in your possession? -

when i plug in my charger to my macbook and have it charged all the way i can only use it for an hour before it dies on me again. what is wrong with my macbook? what can i do to fix it?
Go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report in 10.7), then select Power from the left hand column of the System Profiler. Copy and paste the Battery Information back here.
Also it would help to know which one of the 9 different models of MacBook you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report in 10.7).When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier. -
MacBook 13" will only charge battery when on and open. why?
Hello,
My white 13" Macbook, model number A1181, will only charge the battery when the computer is on and open. If i close the screen down, the light on the AC adapter will go off about 2 seconds later, and will stop charging the battery or giving any power to the computer. When i try to start up the computer without the battery in, it will not start up.
When I attach the AC adapter to the computer and it is not open, or not on, there is just a faint green light on the AC adapters LED light. About 1/4 the normal brightness.
Also, a few days ago, the computer would randomly shut down when it was plugged into the AC adapter to charge my battery. I was surfing the web and it shut down three separate times. All while the AC adapter was in. After i took the AC adapter out, it stopped randomly shutting down.
I went to a friends house who has the same mac laptop, and have swapped out his battery and his AC adapter with mine in every combination and everything operates in the same way: not able to turn my computer on with his adapter plugged in and the battery out and a 1/4 as bright green light when the AC adapter is plugged in and the computer is off or the screen is shut. My AC adapter functions perfectly with his computer, as does my battery, perfectly normal.
I thought it might have been the DC in board, so i replaced that myself with a part i ordered online, and it was not the DC-in board, same problems persist.
It seems it must be something on the logic board that has shorted out or broken that routes the power when the computer is without battery, shut, or shut down. and there must be a separate line going to the battery charger, which is why that aspect of the computer is still able to function. this means however that my only option to keep using the computer is to keep the battery relatively full and NEVER let it drain anywhere near low, as i would not be able to boot it back up again if it fully drained.
Is this problem indicative that the whole system is on the way out? or might i get a few more months out of this thing by just charging the battery while it is open, and while im working? Any idea what this problem might be? It is past even the 3 year extended apple care plan we had, so that is not an option.
Saw someone post something similar to this in another thread where the power information was requested. Here is mine:

--------------------------------------You seem to have narrowed it down to a logic board issue. You can try resetting the SMC:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964?viewlocale=en_US
And the PRAM:

But it sounds like either an expensive repair or a new Mac is in your future. Make sure you're keeping regular backups. -
My MacBook (2007, late mid-year model) is overheating
My MacBook (2007, late mid-year model) is overheating and the batter cover has buckled. Now the battery does not seem to want to charge. Do I need to replace the battery? The computer? What will help? I'd like to use the computer for as long as possible, though I realize I am probably overdue to replace it. It is my only computer at the moment.
Thanks. If you have a MacBook with the removable battery you can get a new third party battery fairly cheap on eBay.

Macbook Pro Retina 15" charging slowly
My macbook pro retina was bought in august 2012, and yesterday it just started having charging/battery problems. All of a sudden when I plugged my computer in to charge it got REAL slow and said my estimated time until my battery was full was over 20 hours. I tried resetting SMC etc. and it seemed to change the estimated time, but it still seems slow, and now my battery life seems short. I'm not sure what to do, if I can do anything about it or if my battery is just dying all of a sudden. If you know anything please help!!!
