-15000 error with Apple TV

I'm suddenly getting this error trying to stream music to my Apple TV.
"An error occurred while connecting to the remote speaker "X". An unknown error occurred (-15000)."
I have iTunes 9.1.1, and an Airport Extreme with firmware 7.4.2.

try if any of the suggestions here help:
Some users that take advantage of the ability for iTunes to stream to external speakers wirelessly via AirTunes are finding that after upgrading to iTunes 9 their AirTunes capabilities no longer work properly. A growing thread in the Apple Support Discussions has users communicating their experiences with the issue.
The issue begins when users with previous AirTunes setups upgrade their iTunes application to the current version, 9. (Now 9.0.1.) ASD user "Vengance" reports:
It's [AirTunes] connected once or twice, randomly. Most of the time it says "An error occurred while connecting to the remote speaker "myairport'sname". An unkown error occurred (-15000)."
ASD user "westworthy" reports their experience:
I'm having the same issue. I try to stream to airtunes. I get about 2 seconds of audio then the audio stops, but the song is still playing. If I switch to the computer speakers you can hear the audio again.
There are many variables to examine when considering troubleshooting AirTunes. Of course you will want to be sure you have the latest firmware on all your AirPort Express units and be sure to have a stable backup of all your important data when attempting any troubleshooting steps.
Many users on this forum report that using earlier versions of iTunes on other computers on their network report no issues connecting and streaming to external speakers via AirTunes, so one option is to _*downgrade your existing version of iTunes 9 to iTunes 8.*_
Other suggestions for fixes include disabling the iPv6 setting in your AirPort configuration. ASD user "Joe-ri" suggests:
So people; when you have problems with iTunes not connecting to your AirTunes maybe you can try the following:
1) Open System Preferences
2) Open Network pane
3) Select Airport in the left list
4) Click the Advanced button
5) Go to the TCP/IP tab
6) Set the "Configure IPv6" field to Off.
7) Click "OK"
8) Click "Apply"
9) Let iTunes connect to your AirTunes speakers
Some users experienced improved performance after navigating to System Preferences > Security > Firewall and toggling it on, then off again, and rebooting their machine.
Users should also reset their network devices. Power-cycle your modem, router, and any AirPort Express units you have connected. Once everything has rebooted, check your AirTunes connections.

  • Error with Apple's iTunes U Certs?

    Hello:
We are running into an error with Apple's iTunes U certificates and get the following error and https is bombing out...
sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target
    Anybody else having issues?

Yeah, I noticed the same problem. I sent Duncan the results of our curl output.
The problem is easily circumvented (if you're using curl) by using the -k option.
But I bet you knew that in Utah.

Has anyone had the Network time and date error with Apple TV when traveling?

    Jasion,
Maybe a bit beside the question, but it is always recommended here to open/save from/to own hard disk, and to copy from/to networks and removable media. You may be lucky, at least for a while, but it is better to be safe than sorry.
In addition to the (far greater) risk of file corruption, some issues are mentioned here:

  • Is there errors with apple devices lately?

My iPad Wifi and iPhone 4 don't seem to send the notifications and emails through right away. It's weird. It did it home, it did it on vacation this weekend. Is Apple experiencing errors with their devices? If so, they should release iOS5 soon 'cause it would update their devices

Copied from the iPad User Guide for iOS 4.3 book that is available in iBooks as a free download. I highlighted and made the type bold and red that I think is pertinent to your question. The notification delay could be on the server end as well I would imagine.
    Fetch New Data
This setting lets you turn Push on or off for MobileMe, Microsoft Exchange, Yahoo! Mail, and any other push accounts on iPad. Push accounts automatically deliver new information to iPad when new information appears on the server (delays may occur). To fetch or sync pushed data, iPad must have an Internet connection. Turn Push off to suspend delivery of email and other information, or to conserve battery life.
When Push is off, and with accounts that don’t support push, iPad can still check the server to see if new information is available. Use the Fetch New Data setting to determine how often data is requested. For optimal battery life, don’t fetch too frequently.

  • Windows 7 Blue Screen Errors (with Apple Time Capsule)

Can anyone tell me whether Apple has found a way to make the Apple Time Capsule work with Windows 7 without causing a blue screen error every time it is used? BTW, it works perfectly on Windows XP and Windows Vista.
Note: The Apple Time Capsule does not yet support Windows 7 (see specifications).

  • Errors with Apple Mobile Device Support- won't install!

I've been grappling with getting iTunes 9 to recognize my iPhone for a month now (BUT iPod mini is syncing fine.) After multiple troubleshooting efforts with this forum, Apple Support articles, and actual Apple employees, I finally realized the error is with AMDS. In the times I've tried reinstalling iTunes, everything except AMDS was fine. For AMDS, it would always say "Rolling back action".
So I decided to extract the iTunes setup file, access AMDS.msi and repair/reinstall. Didn't work because it rolled back again. Took more tips reading other threads by uninstalling, rebooting, and installing AMDS, but STILL rolling back. I even renamed the Apple file (ProgramFiles/CommonFiles/Apple I believe) and it's still rolling back! I have no idea why.
Plus in my Common Files I have multiple Apple files. There's Apple, Apple(2) and Apple(5). I tried renaming all of those and still get the rolling back and error message from AMDS. Any ideas?

Okay ... so it's not (or at least, vastly less likely to be) shonky AMDS installation configuration information that we're dealing with here.
Right ... let's try making some forward progress again. (Best to print out a copy of the instructions ... you won't be able to use a browser at one point in proceedings.)
First, navigate to the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\ folder. If it is present, delete the *Mobile Device Support* folder.
    Now, uninstall your iTunes.
Now, download and save a copy of the iTunes installer to your hard drive. (Don't run the install on line, and don't install from the downloaded file just yet.)
Reboot the PC. Don't open any applications. Disconnect from your network and/or the internet. Disable your Security Software (antivirus, firewall, antispyware).
Now start the iTunes install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe you downloaded earlier.
After the install attempt, you can reenable your Security software and then reconnect to the internet.
... Any better luck with that install attempt?

  • Safari (only?) errors with Apple Discussion Pages

I have been having connection problems with my ISP -- intermittent inability to load web pages or Widget updates, etc., or just very slow loading. It is extremely intermittent: over the space of an hour or two it can go from full speed cable to near zero to flat out dead.
Complicating things greatly is that sometimes, during the slow-but-not-dead periods, Safari refuses to load Apple Discussions pages at all, displaying error messages with or without an number number, but always saying the connection was lost. Sometimes this is after a minute or so of trying to load the page, which I attribute to the slowness of the connection, but other times it is immediate. When this happens, retry or going to another page with a link back to the first page & trying that continues to get the error immediately.
IOW, Safari won't even try to reload the page. I have tried emptying the cache, but it doesn't help. Other pages will load, but slowly.
At this point, I can get the page to load by copying the URL into Internet Explorer, so I know the page is available & the connection, although slow, is capable of sending the page to my computer.
Does anyone have an explanation for this behavior? Or better yet, a way to convince Safari to try to reload the page?

  • Sync error with Apple TV 1 and Lion

The old sync error that many of us were seeing a few months back with Snow Leopard is back now with my upgrade to Lion on my Macbook Pro. I can't sync the Apple TV and I can't view any of my content that wasn't on the Apple TV hard drive before the upgrade.

    Winston,
are you able to sync content (movies) to the AppleTV and view them when the unit is disconnected from the network?
So far I can only get iMac with Mac OS Lion to stream movies from my iTunes account to the AppleTV 1.
I need to get content on the AppleTV again as I plan to travel with it.

    Correct.
Anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID

  • Apple TV/Airplay -15000 error also with video hanging

Ok today I had this problem:
TV Shows and songs I tried to stream from Home sharing just hung and would not play.  If I scrolled through TV Shows (using the Remote app) I could see the still frames but there was no way to get the video going.
Airplay on my computer (iMac) would come up with -15000 error if I tried using Apple TV through remote speakers.
    Solutions I heard were:
Toggle the firewall on and off again. (DIdn't work)
Go to System Preferences Security>Airport>TCP/IP>Turn iPv6 setting to off.  (This did not work for me, and also LIon doesn't let you turn this off anymore).
My solution was to Reset my Apple TV.  Just go Settings>General>Reset.  I reset my settings (as opposed ot restore to factory settings).   I had to re-enter my User-ID and password but it got everything running again.
    Hope this helps.

Yes another user with problem with Apple Mobile Device Support, I am getting the error message: Service 'Apple Mobile Device'(Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Vertify that you have sufficient privileges to start system service....I hit retry and it came up again. I hit ignore and it prompted me to hit finish so Itunes can open.   I looked thru alot of these posts on here to try and resolve this problem myself but it's not working too well...I downloaded Itunes to my desktop so I can right click it with the program i downloaded called WinRAR. I extracted it and then went into the folder called Itunes64setup. I saw the file called AppleMobileDeviceSupport64 in there so I began to try and download it on it's own. Well that didn't work as I planned and got this error message:
Apple Mobile Device Support wasn't installed on your computer. The installer encountered errors before Apple Mobile Device Support could be configured. Your system has not been modified. To retry these operations at a later time, please run the installer again.
Well I tried to run it again and came up with the same message...I see that some people got great support to help them so I am hoping someone can help me as well. I know "b nor" is very qualfied and hopefully can help me! Please advise what I can do. Thank you
