1522 Radio status down

My client bought 10 AIR-LAP1522AGs and a 4402 controller.  They want to use them in pairs to establish 5 x wireless bridges.  I have configied the controller and have added all the APs into the controller as either RAPs or MAPs.
I cannot figure out how to turn on the radios.  I have downloaded several Cisco docs but am unable to find the answer to this seemingly simple question.
Jeff

So without the radios up, does this mean you primed the MAPs to join over ethernet interface?  Otherwise, for them to be joined, the radios would need to be up..
Anyhow, if the radios are all down, it sounds like you may have 802.11a or 802.11b/g Globally Disabled  (GUI > Wireless > 802.11a > network > enable 802.11a)...........................
Other than that, I suppose your AP Admin mode could be Disabled instead (GUI > Wireless)  APs each have an admin status....
Or is the problem not that the radios are "off"  but that something isn't working on them...?

  • Cisco Wireless AP radio interface shutdown/Operation Status Down

    Hi,
I am trying to troubleshoot the cause of the wireless AP 1142 radio shutdown; I was wondering where may be a good place to start on it/possibility of the radio shutting down. Once the radio is shown as down; I would just need to re-enable (disable/enable) it and the status changes to up status. I have attached a screen catpure of the radio interface showning down.
The AP radios shutting down is intermittent; some APs has their "A/N" radio interface shutdown while others has their "G/N" radio interface shutdown. Not too sure what may most likely be causing it to shutdown?
    Any input is appreciated.
    Thanks.

Do you have controller ?? if yes then posts out put of sh sysinfo commad.
Paste the output of sh version command from AP.
    Also check:
    1. Choose Wireless > 802.11a/n or 802.11b/g/n > Network
Select the 802.11a (or 802.11b/g) Network Status check box to enable the 802.11a or 802.11b/g band.
    2. Wireless > Access Points > All APs then click on specific AP and make sure admin status is enable.

  • 1300 Bridge fa0 port status down

I have a remote 1300 bridge whose fa0 port consistently goes down after working well for over a week. It shows the port as admin up but line status down - no carrier. It plugs directly into a 1200 ap. I have tried to hard code the speed and duplex but the option to hard code the speed is not available. Any ideas?

    Hi
yes the console port on the power injector is is console port for the AP. probably the best way to recover the bridge is to connect the 1310 to a laptops etherernet port and use the console port to learn the IP of the 1310 then manage the 1310 with the GUI it can be done with the CLI but if you have not done a wireless bridge before stick with the GUI. Both 1310's need to be on the same subnet, this is for management not for bridging. the bridging is at level 2 unless you use VLANS but with the routers that should not be an issue. once you have configured the Root router save the config and use it to to congigure the non-root router changing the IP address and the role to Non Root. plug the network cables into the the apropriate router ports and you should be set.
this is assuming you know the userid/passwords for the AP's  the default was Cisco/Cisco.
if the antennas are alinged your bridge should be reliable.
based on the signal level between the AP's i would disable the B data rates use the G data rates and possibley disable the higher data rates if the radio stats show to many retrys, mor than 10%.

  • How to remove the pop-up window ''Wireless Radio Status" for t430s

Hi, I have owned my t430s for now about 2 years without any major complaints recently I've had to use the fn + f5 function quite frequently, because of my poor internet connection. so that way i can reset which signal I want to choose because the default signal I am connected to is not mine. My problem is similar to what is posted here: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-Tablet-and-Helix/how-to-remove-the-pop-up-window-Wireless-Radio-Status/td-p/1191059 I really want to get rid of the pop up for this feature, I've tried to follow what the other thread user's have done and try out their solutions but it does not work for my t430s i tried changing the pmev thing to what was posted in the thread. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

I already tried that as mentioned in my original post, it doesn't work. I still get the pop up message: this is me pressing fn + f5

  • IOS 1230 AP Radio shuts down

I have a unique problem in which I have my Cisco SE involved in trying to correct. When using an IOS based 1230 AP in one of my locations the RADIO interface will turn off (shut down) even though it appears as being up. All associatins are lost and the only way to reassociate to the AP is by restarting the AP. I have the latest code running for the Vxworks 1200 AP and this problem does not happen. I also have the IOS based 1230 AP deployed at all my other locations with zero problems. Cisco has provided me with a spectrum analyzer thinking it was some interference, but we have not seen any interference. Is anyone else having this problem? Please reply of e-mail me I would love to discuss this with you.
    PK

Hmm... I have had problems with the 802.11a (5Ghz) radio shutting down. It just says something like "DOT11-RADIO-FAILED" I believe in the logs and shows that it was down. Had the unit replaced once and the problem seemed to go away for quite awhile but did notice the radio failed again last week sometime and had to reboot again.
I thought it might be heat related since it was mounted on a "cloth" wall without the right mounting bracket and might have had the vents covered, but that's not the case now.

  • Radio going down on 1310AP

Hi there, I'm experiencing some issues with a 1310 LWAPP on a University, here is the scenario:
The AP is directed to some specific classrooms and at a certain point the radio goes down or at least there is no more communication between the clients and the AP, but the association in the computers remain the same for a couple of minutes, after that the link goes down, but the weird thing is that the communciation to the AP via Ethernet remains up. We tested this and the ping's all were responding while the radio was down.
    Steps already done:
-A new 1310 has been tested, same results.
-A new power injector, same results.
-The UTP cabling between the power injector and the IDF has been changed, same results.
-The port to which the AP was connected at the IDF switch was changed, same results.
I'm thinking as a possible solution:
-Replacing the coax cabling between the power injector and the AP (not more than 15 ft).
-Ensure the AC voltage at the power outlet is delivered correctly (110v) not less, not more.
I'm wondering if this steps may be causing the device(s) to fail in such a way, because if it is not receiving the appropriate ammount of power the radio module simply goes down, but as the ethernet module requires less power it remains up.
    What do you think?
Any recommendation is more than welcomed; too much time has been dedicated without success.
    Thanks in advance!

For the troubleshooting chech the Red color indicates an overcurrent or overvoltage error condition disconnect input power from the power injector, check all coax cable connections for a possible short, wait approximately 1 minute, and reconnect input power to the power injector. If the LED turns red again, contact technical support for assistance.
The power injector requires approximately 50 seconds to recover from an overcurrent or overvoltage condition.
Off indicates input power is not available verify that the power module is connected to the power injector and that AC power is available or that 12- to 40-VDC input power is connected to the power injector.

  • Oper status down

    HI,
I recently bought a Cisco 2504 Wireless Controller and a couple of access points (Cisco 1600 Series). Initially the controller had the 7.0.x.x firmware and from what i read on Cisco website it seems that this version is incompatible with my access points, so I updated the firmware on the controller to the latest version (7.4.110.0.). The access points were intially autonomous, so I installed the latest conversion to lightweight iOS image (ap1g2-rcvk9w8-tar.152-4.JA1). All work beautiful and I was happy until i discovered that after  the acces points succesfully join the controller the radio interfaces won't come up. On the controller i get the following messages:

I must metion that all settings on the controller are fine (the access points interfaces are set to enable), but they just don't want to come up. I'm completely baffled by this problem and I don't know what to do next ? Can someone explain what's happeining ?
PS: The access point are powered by their standard AC-DC power supply (not over PoE).

Thanks for replies! One of the first thing that I did was to configure a NTP server, so the controller is time synchronized. Aslo I manually enable each radio interface.

  • Status Down for DB target

Hello, please i need some help.
The status for a DB target is shown as Down in the Enterprise Manager Grid Control console. However, the DB is up and is working normally. What i can see is that user Dbsnmp is Locked(Timed) in dba_users, could this be the problem?. What users are involved with agents and conections to grid control?
How can i refresh the status?
    Thanks in advance.

The user that OEM uses is determined by the configuration step with the agent in OEM. So click on the agent in OEM, click the radio button for the db, click configure. Give it the dbsnmp userid and credentials.

  • Single Sign-On:orasso Status Down After Enabling SSL

The status of Single Sign-On:orasso is listed as down in Enterprise Manager after enabling SSL. The same problem existed in with the Portal component, but this was fixed by adding a certificate to the certdb.txt file and by changing some URLs in the targets.xml file.
Does anyone know how to correct this issue with Enterprise Manager? It has no effect on the behavior of our application, but it is causing problems with administration because some people use the Enterprise Manager console to monintor the state of our environment.

    Hi,
    Did U try this the following steps;
When the configuration is finished, take the following steps:
    1.
In the Application Server Control Console Confirmation page, click OK. The Application Server Home page appears.
    2.
If you did not have an OC4J_SECURITY instance before, you will have one now. The OC4J_SECURITY instance will have a status of Down. You will also have a Single Sign-On:orasso instance with a status of Down. Select the check box next to OC4J_SECURITY and click Start.
Note: You cannot start the Single Sign-On:orasso instance. This feature is started and stopped when you start and stop HTTP_Server and OC4J_SECURITY.
    3.
When the operation completes, verify that OC4J_SECURITY has a status of Up.
Note: The Single Sign-On:orasso status may be displayed as Down. This is normal. The status should be updated approximately five minutes after configuration.
    4.
    Select HTTP_Server and click Restart.
    5.
Verify that you can access OracleAS Single Sign-On at the following URL:
    http://hostname.domain:port/pls/orasso
In the URL, hostname.domain is the host on which OracleAS Single Sign-On is installed and port is the Infrastructure HTTP Server port.
You can log in as orcladmin with the orcladmin password.
Also try to check Oracle Application Server Single Sign-On Administrator's Guide
    Hear from U & regards,
    Hamdy
