16:9 HD Slideshow Output

Slideshows need the following:
1. Allow 16:9 pan and zoom box
2. File output at 16:9
3. File output at HD (1080 not 720) resolution

Rather than putting your clips into the 16:9 sequence put the 4:3 sequence inside the 16:9 sequence. Then you add titles to it.

  • PSE 6 slideshow output problems

I created a large slideshow in PE6. The output is unsharp. I then bought Premeire Elements and the output is even worse.
Is it because of the high resolution of the photos?
If so, is there any way to change the resolution after the fact?
I have tried burning it to both cd, and dvd and I don't know where to go with it from here.

What I do is create the output as an image file (.wmv) at the highest resolution. This will take some time if the slide show is large. Then I use DVD burning software like Nero to convert the .wmv file to a dvd. This gives me pretty good resolution on my HDTV - I think if I buy a Blu-Ray player it will upconvert and give me really good quality.

  • PE Slideshow output closes at 42% with error message

I created a slideshow in the Organizer this summer from my PE 7.0 and it worked great. Now, I'm trying to do a new slideshow and when I output the file whether to a disc or as a file, it stops at 42% with a Microsoft Error message that the program has to close. I've been searching answers on internet but haven't found anything specific. Anywone have any ideas for me?

Note: my most important comment and question is near the end and has 3 asterisks in front of it.
I did have some formatting problems when adding my new comments so the  color designating your responses is lost and the formatting may be weird, but I don't think that will prevent our discussion from continuing.
-- how many photos (approximate number is OK)
    72
-- resolution of the photos (for example are they from a 5 megapixel camera or a 12 megapixel camers)
    10 mg pixel camera
-- what file format - like jpeg or psd or tiff or a camera RAW,
    camera RAW probably
..... did your previous successful slideshow also use raw format files? I have never done that and I don't know how many other people do. What camera took these photos and what is the file type of the file?
-- did you add any type of video file to this slideshow and if yes, what type of video,
    None
-- how much available free space on your system drive (probably your C drive)and if you set Windows parameters to re-direct Temporary files to another drive also post free space on that drive.
123 GB on hard drive and 588 GB on external hard dirve. I have the scratch disk to operate from both of these in the prefs menu in PE
.... in my question I had actually meant Windows temporary files rather than PSE scratch disks, but with your numbers for available space you should be OK
    -- which Windows Operating System,
    Windows XP
-- did you add a music file and if yes what type and what was its source,
Yes, on music, 2 songs. Orignally from I-tunes but ripped into Windows Media Player to mp3 format.
Is the postition where it stops anywhere near where one song stops and the other begins?
It seems to work great until it gets to about picture 50 and it stops...must be the 42% mark.
..... the fact that you have isolated the specific picture at which it stops is good.
That 42% number might be meaningfull or not as many percentage complete numbers are really estimates rather than precise numbers.
***.... did you actually get a partial output file and is that how you identified which photo?
Perhaps it is the photo after what you see that causes a problem or the timing of the music if that changes near this point

  • Lightroom Slideshow:  output AVCHD files (Panasonic, Sony)?

Slideshow seems to have only two output formats:  MP4 and .pdf.  Panasonic flatscreens, for one, will not play these formats.  They require AVCHD files.  How can I get from Lightroom Slideshow to this format?

Thanks for your reply. What I meant was the workflow I have delveloped with the client to provide a quicktime file for their use on their end is what has been proven.
The whole reason I started this thread was hoping someone had a NEW WORKFLOW that would allow me to do this.
I have hundreds of clips I have produced for this client that utilze the Animation codec at 100% at a small fraction of the size. In fact I have one clip that is 46 minutes in duration 1920 X 1080 60 FPS using QT Animation codec at 100% and the file is 40 GB. The difference being the source files which were shot with a different camera in DVCPRO HD format.
So if what you're saying is I should expect an 8 minute clip to be 80 GB I'm a bit lost.
Anyway thanks for your reply hopefully someone has some helpful advise. I'm not here to argue with anyone or to be proven wrong, I'm just looking for help.
I'll continue to seach for other options. Thanks to all who have responded.

  • Photoshop slideshows Output to Premiere -  Old Versions Appear

When I select Output-Send to Premier Elements for a slideshow I've revised in Photoshop Elements 6, an earlier version of that slideshow is inserted in Premire Elements 4. So far as I know, I properly saved the revision, and it appears OK in Organizer. I can select it and play the revised slideshow from Organizer. The earlier versions are not displayed in Organizer. I've tried right-clicking on the slideshow icon displayed in Organizer, but the same thing happens. I tried rebooting, figuring I'd be clearing out some buffer, but that didn't help. I have slideshows which I created in Photoshop at the start and then at the end of a series of video clips in Premiere. Same problem with both of them. Suggestions will be appreciated.

Barb, thanks for the tip. As you can tell I have a lot to learn about Premiere. My sense is, in the future, to build the still slideshows right in Premier instead of Photoshop. I'm under the gun to finish this project to show to my 95 year old aunt in two weeks, along with relatives, some flying in for the occasion. So I'll follow up on your suggestion after the presentation. The show has my aunt talking about midwest farm life in the early 1900s, with the slideshows presenting old family stills from the period. I still need to burn a bunch of printable DVDs and add labels, plus print DVD jacket covers, and test out projection equipment.
A minor gotcha at this point is trying to attach a "meow" audio clip to a still image of my beloved cat (and yes, there is a conection to the slide show). It appears the two audio timelines at the bottom of the edit screen in Premiere both control the volume, and do not function to add such an audio clip.

  • Slideshow output choices - HD

I have PS Elements 9.  When I create a slideshow and then choose to output it to an MVW file there are a number of resolution choices, but not a choice for HD.  why?

    Patrick:
I'm running 10.4.4 on the G5 that has the Decklink card in it but i'm in the middle of a fairly big project and was avoiding the upgrade til later. I'm finding more and more though, that I need video assist while using MOTION.
By the way, and on another subject, I'm doing HD blue / green sceen pulls and I was wondering what app you think works best. Shake is a dog to learn and the workflow is tedious. Primatte in Motion has very few options ( as opposed to the Shake version ) AE maybe?

  • Idvd slideshow output

Why do the pictures look great in Idvd but grainy once they are burned to a dvd. I create a slideshow in Iphoto, share it to idvd but i lose a large amount of picture quality once the dvd is burned. Can anyone help

    Hi jad4run
And welcome to apple discussions. it's because "burned" Dvd's are considered low res devices. In essence the stills and /or photos you burn to a slideshow are about a third of a megapixel each .... significantly lower than the capacity in terms of mega pixels for modern digital cameras. Not to mention that when data is compressed to standard dvd-r, it also looses quality.
if you need better resolution, you can add the RAW data to the dvd-rom section of the dvd for use on most computers (but not from most TV's or DVD Players) OR you'll need to consider burning to blu-ray which most macs don't yet support.
If you're like me and don't yet own a Blu-ray burner but do have a recent S-Drive, then you can still take advantage of Roxio Toast's Blu-ray plug in (provided you own Toast 9 or 10) to burn high def to a standard dvd-r. The extra plug in runs about $20 on top of the software price itself (unless you purchased Toast 10 PRO which includes this plug in).
You may also wish to consider one or more of these apps that specializes in slideshow production / presentations:

Hope these helps but if not just come on back. Good luck!

  • Can I create hdtv slideshow output on DVD

Can I create hd output on DVD?
Can I create 1080x720 video and write to dvd's to play on a commercial dvd player for my Hdtv?
    the highest output I see is 720 x 480??
    thanks,

Not possible... to have HD output you need one of the "announced but not shipped" players, since the DVD specification does not provide for HD content that will play out to your HD Television... you simply can't stuff HD content on a DVD and have it play from the DVD to a TV

  • Re: Create a PDF presentation slideshow output file in CS5

Upgraded from CS2 to CS5. In CS2, this was an Automate option - presentation I think. All you had to do was drag the PDF photos together, select the presentation options and bingo. Then I could e-mail the presentation file. Can't find anything like this in CS5.

Zeno - Thanks for the help. Am almost there. Am able to create a contact sheet slideshow presentation but don't see an option for a slideshow presentation where each photo shows individually on a slide. The contact sheet has multiple pictures per slide.

  • How do I create a slideshow in PSE 8.0 and share it on my website using Premiere elements 7.0.  I

I have created a slideshow in PSE 8.0 but how do I get it into Premiere Elements 7 to create a video I want to show in my website?  Do I have to buy Premiere Elements 8.0 surely ther must be a way to pass files?

Adobe is making it difficult for people who have Photoshop Elements 8 and Premiere Elements 7.
If you also have Photoshop Elements 7, I suggest that in the future you consider making your slideshows in Photoshop Elements 7 because it of course does support transfer to Premiere Elements 7. Or you can make the entire slideshow in Premiere Elements 7.
The only option that I can identify for making a file of your PSE 8 slideshow is to do a WMV file from the PSE 8 slideshow output command.
This approach has the disadvantage of doing a compression in PSE to make the WMV file and then doing another compression in Premiere Elements 7 for whatever format you will use to upload to your website.

  • No MP3 slideshow audio in PSE 8.0

When I was creating my first slideshow I installed some MP3 files but when it came to previewing them, there was no audio.
After spending some time searching this forum, I tried converting a MP3 file to WMA and that worked.
But since my music collection is all MP3's, I am not going to convert any of them again. I had to this time because my project had to be done
the next day. I unistalled/reinstalled Elements but that didn't work. My default player is Windows Media Player 11 and using Windows 7
Any idea what is causing this?

  • Lightroom's Slideshow Module export quality issue

When I export a slide show, the resulting quality of the photos in the pdf is much below that of the photos I see in the Library module. There is a high degree of aliasing (jagged edges) and if I export the slide show at less than 100% quality or at a screen size smaller than my client's, the pixelization renders the slide show useless.
I am using a Mac with the latest OS with a 256mb video card, 2GB RAM, and plenty of harddrive space.
I have confirmed with two other experienced photographers that this is also happening with them.
I have resorted to using Fotomagico as a slideshow software vs. Lightroom for the results from Lightroom are too unprofessional to show my clients.

    Pat,
I just checked my slideshow output and it looks good. I can only suggest [and you probably have tried all of these: 1] Make sure your photos look good to start, high res etc. 2] make sure you have the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader [8 I believe] 3] restart LR [I hesitate to even say this]
Beyond that I don't have much to offer.
    Good luck

  • Photo distorted in slideshow

Hello.  I am using the slideshow output to put 99 slides into a quick self contained show.  I am using LR6.  The results were fine except 3 of the photos were distorted..... so they looked like a 3 part abstract.  The example photo below is a piece of modern art in Iceland yet the shot looks like some kind of "composition."  Any ideas about how to fix this?  TIA

Thanks for the suggestions.  I exported the file both undeveloped and using the same edits as I did to prepare it for the slide show.  No problems.  I also did the same with another of the pics which are corrupted in the slide show.  No problem.  The capture of the pic I exported is below.

  • Error message "Fix quality problems in clips?" when I import a slideshow created in PSE12 into PE12

I have been using Photoshop Elements and Premierre Elements for 6+ years but continue to get this error with 12.  Any ideas?

    BestVideo Memories
    Bottom lines:
    a. Render the Elements Organizer slideshow on the Premiere Elements 12 Timeline if you want the best possible preview and move on in the project.
    b. Try to disable the Smart Fix or ignore it and say No, it is a red herring in this matter of rendering the Timeline content.
    c. Create a .wmv version of the Elements Organizer slideshow and import that into a new Premiere Elements project manually set for a project preset that matches the properties of your .wmv.
Please read on for the long detailed version:
Whatever descriptive adjective you give or do not give Smart Fix, for you it is a nusiance that you have not been able to disable by the usual means that I have described back in post 4. I suspect that you perceive an association between the appearance of the message and the existance of the orange render indicator over the Elements Organizer slideshow when it is automatically placed on the Premiere Elements Timeline with the Elements Organizer Slideshow Editor command "Edit with Premiere Elements Editor".
This morning I did some first hand homework on this with in Premiere Elements 12 and 10.
Premiere Elements 12 Elements Organizer 12
    1. The orange render indicator is unaffected by Smart Fix message appearance/disablement and whether you say Yes or No to Smart Fix message if it appears. So, it is a "red herring" if your quest is to get rid of the "need for rendering" that is indicated by the program's orange line over your Elements Organizer slideshow (.psess) when the file is on the Premiere Elements workspace Timeline.
    2. Whether or not you set the Premiere Elements project preset before you use the Elements Organizer Slideshow Editor Output command "Edit with Premiere Elements Editor", that non wmv (.psess) version of the Elements Organizer Slideshow Editor's slideshow will arrive on the Premiere Elements Timeline with the orange rendering indicator above it,  implying the need to render that content to get the best possible preview of what you have there. I have found no way to escape this type of thing in version 12 or 10 which I used for comparison.
    3. In all this and in the past, I have never been able to trigger the appearance of the Smart Fix message when the Elements Organizer Slideshow Editor slideshow (.psess) first arrives on the Premiere Elements Timeline. So, I am not clear what in your .psess is triggering that. But, Smart Fix is an aside here and not the issue if the issue is the orange rendering indicator.
    4. The program typically throws off the need to render message when it cannot match the properties of the media with one of its project presets. I am still trying to figure out which parameter is not being matched when I know that I have a 720 x 480 @ 29.97 slideshow going into a pre-set DV Standard Premiere Elements  project which includes 720 x 480 @ 29.97. One guess might be that the Pixel Aspect Ratio of the .psess is missing or not available (PAR = 0.9091) as it is in the project preset in this specific example.
    5. Under these exact same conditions, if I select the Elements Organizer Slideshow Output option of Burn To Disc instead of Edit with Premiere Elements Editor, the wmv version of the slideshow produced and saved in that process can be imported into Premiere Elements 12 Expert workspace and be dragged to the Timeline with no orange rendering indicator (in fact, no colored line).
Please review and then let me know if I need clarification.
    Thanks.

  • Why does PE10 crash creating a slideshow?

I have created numerous slideshows with many images using the nice Pan&Zoom features. However, PE10 will crash upon creating the output video. This is dependent on the resolution chosen.
I don't seem to have much trouble with 720x480 DVD output. 800x600 will also work most of the time, but 1024x768 will fail often.
I have been able to get all modes working by simply saving my project, closing PE10, reopening the app & prj, and then doing the output video creation.
So it seems there maybe some memory leak bug or something like that. For example, when the 1024x768 mode works, if I move onto more projects & video outputs, eventually PE10 will crash.
But if I close, and re-open, then all seems to be fine. PE10 wants a clean start.
PE10 is the first version I've had where Photoshop Elements has crashed numerous times for varied reasons, and yet Premiere Elements seems ultra stable in comparison.
Sure would love to see an update for both though from Adobe - why is there no update by now?

The slideshow output process of the Elements Organizer uses Windows Temporary files.  Therefore it is my suspicion that you are reaching some limit on those Temporary files - either the disk space on your hard drive or specific Windows OS limits on Temporary files.
    Geneeral considerations are
-- Therefore doing the Windows disk cleanup process for your hard drive might make available more hard drive space for the temporary files needed during the slide show editor output process.
-- Your reported results that closing Photoshop Elements and restarting again can avoid the problem (for awhile) seems to confirm the possibility of some type of space or temporary files  problem.
-- Since your are failing for 1024 x 768, I suspect that you are not actually burning a physical disc. So I think that 99jon's recommendation might need to be modified to say that you create the 1024x768 wmv file from Premiere Elements instead of burning a disc.
-- If your problem is insufficient hard drive disc space, then I doubt that sending to Premiere Elements for output can solve insufficient space.
-- If your problem is specifically Temporary files, then using Premiere Elements for output might avoid that problem.  However, I would try a Disk Cleanup first.
