16:9 video is rendered (shown) as 4:3

Hi,
After upgrading to iTunes 9.0.3 I have videos that are supposed to be 16:9 being displayed as standard 4:3.
Is it known issue, or it's something with my settings?

After advice from Roger Wilmut, I contacted iTunes support: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ Then clicked on 'Other iTunes Store Features' in the list and then on 'Podcasts'."

As you can see i didn't get an answer to the question, but i went to the feedback link and submitted my thoughts.

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
If you wish, you may be able to salvage the malfunctioning extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. That will revert its settings to the defaults.

Videos are not shown in folder

I have lumia 520 and I unable to understand that why my videos are not shown in video player list only SD card videos are shown and there is no option to select SD card or phone storage in video player just like as in mp3 music player . Is this problem with all lumia devices?

Are these the videos taken from the camera of the phone?
Are these the videos you've transferred from a computer or another device to your phone?

Video Mixing Renderer, xvid

Hi all,
I've posted this on a forum which handles the product that I speak of below, but they recommend either updating the drivers for my video card, or getting a new video card. I figured since I was getting the same error message on two separate machines with drastically different hardware configs, there must be some sort of incompatibility somewhere. Hopefully someone here, who knows Windows and/or Boot Camp or virtualization can help. The following is the post which I submitted on their forum:
"Just got a computrainer 1 week ago- very nice machine! I'm a Mac user, and I'm running the CS and 3D software via VMWare Fusion (Windows XP, but I also have Windows 7), and also Boot Camp (with Windows 7, just to see if it worked). The software works fine with all of the listed methods. My laptop is a late 2009 MacBook Pro with an Nvidia graphics card, 512MB memory on the card.
I recently downloaded the test version of the interactive video software to try it out. I keep getting a 'Video Mixing Renderer' error upon launching. I've adjusted all settings to numerous configurations with no luck. Same error with VMWare and Boot Camp. Just to make sure it wasn't my laptop, I installed the trial software on my Mac Pro (Dual Core Xeon, 8 GB RAM, ATI Radeon card with 1 GB memory), again adjusting all settings both within VMWare and within Windows XP- same error. I saw on this forum that someone with an iMac was successful in getting the video trial to work. Any suggestions?"

Mea Culpa- I ddin't know that I had to 'update' my video card drivers under Boot Camp (I assumed that the latest drivers would already be installed under Windows 7). This also fixed the minidisplay port to HDMI issue that I was having (I posted on another area here). Hope this helps anyone who may be having an issue with this.

"Conforming HDV" instead of "Writing Video" while rendering anything

I am having a serious issue with FCP. I am getting the "Conforming HDV" dialog instead of "Writing Video" while rendering anything
Short Project shot @ 720p 30 with a JVC GY-HD100U
1) This gradually started happening more and more.
2) Whenever I try to render anything, even a small crossfade, FCP shows the "Conforming HDV" dialog and proceeds to trash my video. Pieces of the video are repeated or frames are dropped and shots become jerky.
Undo fixes the issue. Replacing the video with the original fixes the issue. But I connot RENDER ANYTHING!
What would you all suggest?

Welcome to HDV. I've never had much better luck than this. The way the GOP structure of the mpeg-2 HDV stream works, the I-frames in your media almost never match up with the default GOP structure of the sequence, and you must wait for it to conform everytime you even think about touching it. Changing the render settings might help. If you are still runnning FCP 4.5, you will be plagued with scrambled render files - even if you can get it to show the correct rendered material in the timeline, if you export or encode or output to tape, you'll wind up with different (wrong) renders in the resulting files.
You might consider batch exporting all your media to Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC), an all I-frame codec that helps to get around some of the GOP structure issues that make HDV so impossible to work with. Also, more RAM, or a better video card will take some of the load off of the processor as it tries valiantly to decode the HDV stream. Upgrading FCP to the latest version will also help with some of the render-scrambling etc.

You can add video on JFrame, JInternalFrame so why not on JPanel ?
For more information you can shearch examples in the Sun's JMF examples.
I try to use video in JInternalFrame, but the frame rate is very bad ... so if you have solution... your are welcome.

Corrupted video and rendering problems

Before I upgraded the software (FCP 5.0.3 to 5.0.4, and the latest OS X update) I could capture and export movies with no problems. Using the “File>Export>Quicktime Movie” option set to “Use current settings” provides the disastrous results of digital garbage flashing on the screen like psychedelic Lego blocks every couple of seconds at random intervals. They appear at different points with every export. It’s like it’s taking an I-frame from a Jackson Pollack painting. I tried using the following codecs (Sorry if I’m using the wrong terminology, I’m a PC head making my first steps into the Mac universe): Apple Intermediate Codec, DV NTSC 48 KHz (the project’s setting), DV50 NTSC 48 KHz, MPEG IMX 8-bit NTSC – 50 MB/s – 48KHz and the Uncompressed 8-bit NTSC 48 KHz all with similar hideous results. So why does the video look so bad?
Also when I try to render my files the progress bar flashes on the screen for about a second and then goes away, leaving my timeline with the same red bar across the top (AKA unrendered). Are these two problems related?

Yes, I have tried it in a new sequence and a new project but nothing has changed. What I am trying to do is take our catalog of "How to" videos from the miniDV tapes and create DVDs using DVDSP4 since nobody buys VHS anymore. All I'm doing is capturing the 25+ minute project and trimming off the wasted spaces at the beginning and the end. Two cuts, that's it. I'm not reassembing anything and this is becoming a bigger project than the original editing. I had captured the original video I am currently working with before the OS upgrade with no problems and it looks fine on anything I use to view the Quicktime file with. But when I export to anything besides Compressor all I get is junk when Compressor decides not to give ma a "Quicktime Error: 0". What is that about? Anyone?
Also, the tutorial on preview rendering is good and I learned quite a bit. Unfortunately nothing worked on solving my problem. The progress bar still flashes on the screen and when it hits 0% completed it disappears leaving everything unrendered. Grrrr.

Some videos are not shown in iMovie - why?

I imported several videos from iPad/iPhone or my sony camcorder into my Aperture Library.
Now I want to work with the videos in iMovie but I cannot see them there. The videos are integrated into the Aperture library and not only linked to it. I do not have an explanation but it seems that from a certain date in the past no videos are shown in iMovie any more.
Can you help me and tell me what to do to get access on the video data in Aperture for editing in iMovie?

I think Frank meant running the Aperture Library First Aid Tools - "Repair Database", or "Repair Permissions", "Rebuild Library".

Horizontal red lines across video after rendering

Hi I was color correcting a video in Adobe Premiere Pro Cs5 and had remove some noise with Neat Video. The video looks fine with the small screen, however, I adjusted it to full screen and noticed a lot of red horizontal lines across the whole video. The video was 720x480. I would like to know what am I doing wrong. I'm a beginner in color correction and using Adobe Premiere Pro. Thanks.

i hope the picture helps you. There's not much information to get. It only happens after I finish rendering. I'm using adobe cs4 premiere. There is nothing wrong with the footage.

Video not showing after video finished rendering.. worked before rendering

after editing a project to burn to dvd ... creating the fbi warning, the opening menu and the submenus... all with motion... and all working fine, i uploaded the video ... and before it finished rendering, the video worked like a champ.... now after the rendering is over, and i click "simulate" to view the project ... the fbi warning works just fine ... but the actual movie itself does not. the audio works fine ... and can be heard clearly... but the video is nothing but completely black.
even when i scroll the video editing section where i chaptered it and what not, the video will not move. it just stops at the screen frame where i placed the mouse to start the video... but the audio continues.
i'm sure this is a setting i have overlooked as i've already authored DVD's before and never had this problem.
i thought the video was bad and even reloaded the video and let it render again .... anyone have any suggestions?

update::: figured out that the video was somehow corrupt. doesn't make any sense... but i just deleted and reloaded it and it works now...
new issue ::: when going to burn the DVD ... now i keep getting into the 20% range and then it says "video bitrate too high" ... so i've adjusted that repeatedly on the preference menu of studio pro ... and still getting the same issues.

Title (Music Video) still renders "over black" when unselected

Hello I have an MPEG-4 video of about 5 minutes length in wide screen ratio. I am trying to add a Music Video type title to the beginning of the video. I want it to overlay and not do it over black. I uncheck and the preview shows it as it should as an overlay. But when I render it and play it back, it is rendered as over-black!
Until I unmuxed the audio as a separate track the audio for the title part would not play until after the title sequence was complete.
Is it something to do with the fact that I'm running 10.5.1? Or is it my source video that is not compatible with the adding of the title?
This is extremely urgent that I get this to work, so please help me!!!!!

Why does the video I rendered as Quicktime file stop playing at one minute?

Hey guys! I need your help big time!
I am making a slideshow type video of pictures with titles and I am adding keyframes and using the Tweening tool between frames to add transitions to the video. I have added all the tweening slides, and when I export the video I am exporting it as a Quicktime file. When I watch the video all the transitions are good, but the entire video will not play.
There are 9 photos in the video and when I first play the video normally the first 5 pictures and their transitions show up, and then the video "stops" because it has reached one minute ("the end"), but if you let it sit there then the other 4 pictures and their transitions still play but the video is technically stopped.
Then when you rewind the video back to 30 or so seconds the 5th picture that it previously stopped at one minute on occurs at 30 seconds and then the other 4 play correctly with their transitions from 30 seconds to a minute.
I am going to be making several small video files like this and then merging them together to create the full file and before I go any further in the process I need to make sure that the video file Photoshop is rendering for me is the FULL file. Please, if anyone at all knows how to help me with this, then please do!

Whole video not rendered properly

First of all, sorry if you find any mistakes in my writing, English is not my first language.
Hi there, so I'm making a video for a school project. It was filmed with a Sony HDR-XR260V at 60fps and 28mbps, after all the ediding in After Effects, the final duration is 18 minutes and a couple seconds. So I used Media Encoder to render it at a H264 format with a Youtube 30fps preset.
Now the scary part: It took 11 hours to render it out. I'm using a Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (64bits) with a video card NVIDIA GT640 and 8GB of RAM. But the real problem is: after the 11 hours of rendering, I was going to watch the rendered video to check if it was okay and only 3 minutes were rendered! It's funny because even when the player shows the video has just stopped (I use Media Player Classic), the sound keeps going, I can literally HEAR the other 15 minutes of the video even if it had just ended!
Help me please, I'm on this video for months and my friends have been expecting it for even longer.

Well, I didn't think of doing that, but I tried it on Windows Media Player, it showed a complete duration of 18 minutes, but after the 3 minutes mark, the video stopped moving but the audio continued, just like in Media Player Classic, and I tried it on Quicktime, and again, it showed just the 3 minutes, exactly like Media Player Classic.

Missing videos after rendering

Hello!
I'm a newbie with After Effects.
I have the following problem: I have a After Effects Project file. In the folder Media Holders there are files with names MEDIA HOLDER 1, MEDIA HOLDER 2, etc. How do I replace them with my files? With right-click option is not available "Replace Footage" option. I use Set Proxy->File and on preview I see my video, but after rendering there is no my video.

My videos stop rendering/exporting at 80% any help?

When using premiere pro cc I can edit a video just fine. Then I get to exporting and every time without fail it stops working at 80% and the entire program just shuts down. Like when a program stops responding. I use windows 7. 8 gigs of ram GTX 590 video card latest drivers and an i7 3770k intel processor at 3.5ghz. My cpu usage never gets too high for my pc. I've tried updating all my drivers, uninstalling reinstalling, changing render settings, and nothing works. Am I missing something?

I found a solution to export an hour long doc that worked with Premier CC,
File > Project Settings > General > Renderer
The Renderer is set to default as: Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (Open CL)
Change this to: Mercury Playback Engine Software Only
After weeks of exports failing at 80% changing this setting worked and it spit my MPEG2 file out in no time.
