1605 R - how to open a port
I need to open a port for remote database access, and have no documentation or schematic for how this was set up by a volunteer ages ago. I have found some Cisco docs on how to get in to configure, but nothing on the process for opening a port. any advice appreciated!
I haven't gotten in to get that information off it yet...there is no browser interface, so I have to connect directly. We have the Cisco 1605 R in front of a Linksys switch. It is not in default setup, it was configured at install...I know this port is not open, because we pinged it from outside.
We deal with a lot of confidential client information, so we are locked down tight. I want to open up this port for remote database access. And as I said, this was set up so long ago there is no documentation. But once I get in I will post the config if I can do that without compromising our data.
I'm not even sure I can get past whatever passwords are on there to get the config off it...we may have to contact the volunteer to try to find out how it is set up. I was just hoping someone could point me towards a procedure for setup once I am in there, but maybe it will be apparent in the interface.

I have widows 7 and want to know how to open a port
I want to open port 40 but cannot find out how.
Hi,
Do a full virus and malware scan on your PC to ensure that a virus or malware program is not trying to trick you into opening the port.
Typically this port (40) is closed as it could be used as an exploit by a virus or malware program.
Most ports will be opened as necessay by the firewall product for the program requesting to go outbound.
In some cases, you might have to do a manual configure and additionally set the required protocol. However, this is not recommended.
Let's make sure that you don't have a virus or malware on your PC that is causing your issue.
Try the Symantec Security scan to see if you have issues.
If you do have issues then try these Symantec Rescue Tools.

How to open a port in RV325?
Hey guys,
I'm looking for a way to open a port (port 43 - whois) in RV325, so I can check if domains are taken for my customers and I don't want to use an external service for this.
I tried using the GUI, telnet and SSH, but I couldn't find it in the GUI and I couldn't connect using Telnet or SSH, I also don't see a console port on it to connect via COM port, so how can I do it?
Thanks.I know this is not an Apple forumYou're right. It isn't. Have you tried the Apple developer forums?

How to open all ports on a Windows Server 2012 VM

Please any help with this would be appreciatedHi,
I don't familiar with this topic, I find a feedback similar with this issue, please see more at:
http://feedback.azure.com/forums/216843-virtual-machines/suggestions/3995978-allow-to-open-more-ports-that-the-150-ports-limit , it seems that this new feature has been fixed, please have a look at Corey Sanders's response, and see this new update at:
http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/updates/virtual-machines-instance-level-public-ips-now-in-preview/ , hope this helps, if not, or you have any further questions, I suggest you move to Azure VM forum for a better support, azure VM forum link is:

How to open a port on firewall
I have a RV110W firewall installed. Now behind this firewall there is a server running. I need to access this server from outside of the store through a specific TCP port.
Physical connection from outside to the server is like this.
Outside -> Router -> Firewall -> Server
Router IP: 192.168.1.1
Firewall WAN IP: 192.168.1.5
Firewall LAN IP: 192.168.2.1
Firewall Gateway IP: 192.1681.1
Server IP: 192.168.2.10
The firewall is in gateway mode.
Now I forwarded a TCP port on router to firewall (192.168.1.5) and on the firewall i forwarded the same port to server (192.168.2.10).
On the server system, i opened the port on windows firewall for inbound.
This there anything I am missing?Hello
your steps seems to be fine at first look, but somewhere in that chain there is probably something broken.
what kind of service is on that server port?
are you able to open connection from outside with telnet to Router WAN IP and port? example test from outside/internet:
telnet X.X.X.X YYYY
where X.X.X.X is WAN IP of Router and YYYY is port number.
You can confirm that port forwarding is working on both devices:
you can try to connect with computer between Router and Firewall and try that port on firewall.
if previous test works, then for testing purposes move server to subnet between Router and Firewall and perform connectivity test from internet. -
How to Open Several Ports to Host a Game
Hi, I'm trying to host an internet game that requires several ports using UDP.
What is the proper syntax to open up a range of ports and then several other specific ones all for the same application? Can I list them all in the Public UDP Port(s) box like this: *5120-5300, 6500, 6667, 27900, 28900* ?
Is it really necessary to bypass DHCP and assign a Static IP? What if I check to see what IP DHCP has given me and then put that into Airport?Well, I did some searching on the game's technical support forum, and came across this excellent port forwarding website: www.portforward.com
They give instructions for an extensive list of routers, of which the Airport Extreme is one: http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm
They also list a ton of applications, the ports they use, and how to configure your chosen router to use them. Here's what they say about the Airport Extreme:
"The AirPortExtreme will not allow you to forward enough ports, to run Neverwinter Nights. You should try using the DMZ portion of this router if it is available. Alternatively you can try switching the router to bridged mode. You will need to contact your ISP to switch to bridged mode, so they can make the required changed on their end. "
It looks like I'll have to try the DMZ approach as the second poster suggested. Bummer. -
How to open TCP Port on my RV220 Firewall router?
Hello,
I have a windows 8 server for a LAN. This has a Cisco RV220W Firewall which is connected to the T1 router. In order to host a 3rd party video conferencing software I need to have the TCP 1935 port open.
I tried the following -
1. Logged into my RV220W and added a rule using Manage Firewall Rules (Firewall-Access Control-Custome Services). Here I added a rule for TCP start port 1935 and Finish port 1935.
2. Then I added an inbound rule on my Windows 8 server to open TCP 1935.
However when I tested it using porttest.net, it said TCP 1935 is still closed. Can someone please let me know how can I open TCP 1935 port?
Thanks,

How do you open a port in OSX's firewall?
Hello,
I'm trying to figure out how to open a port in OSX's firewall. I'm trying to use Bits on Wheels or Bit Torrent to download show's from Revision3.com (they distribute their shows via bitorrent). I'm not getting very much speed in downloading my files, which typically means that I'm not uploading as fast as I should. I searched this problem and everything I've read says that I need to open a range of ports in my firewall.
I have a DSL connection which does not use a router, just a direct connection to a DSL modem. Therefore I'm only using the software firewall from MacOSX 10.4.10.
So how does one open a range of ports?
Thanks,

we have server only .. we want allow particular ports allow to my server how to open the ports in router please help me ... if any configuration mistakes please help me ....
Thank youI'd advise you to download and use Cisco Configuration Professional (CCP) if you want to secure your router and setup some access-lists for your servers.
Right now your setup is very insecure (no authentication beyond a simple plain text password on the vty lines). CCP has a security audit feature that will remedy that and other issues.
For your servers, you will need an extended access-list applied to your outside interface Gi0/1 restricting access to the NATted server addresses on the ports you want to allow. -

Open UDP Ports on AirPort Extreme
I need to open a few UDP Ports on my new AirPort Extreme so that the software that is running on my network can access the internet over those ports and the software can be accessed from the internet as well. I can find in the AirPort Extreme manual how to open TCP ports but not UDP. I have the list of ports I need to open, but can't find where to configure them in the router firmware.
I would like help on where to configure these ports. Thank you.If you are using the Airport Utility on the Airport Extreme N Base Station, the port mapping screen should look like what you see on page 56 of the manual "Designing Airport Networks" found at:
http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/DesigningAirPort_Networks_Using_AirPortUtility.pdf
...and it clearly shows how/where to specify UDP and TCP ports. -

In the Action dialog box, select
Allow the connection, and then click Next.
In the Profile dialog box, I am going to Leave
Domain turned on and turn private and public off. Then click
Next.
In the Name dialog box, type "Allow SQL 1433 Inbound” and for a description I am putting in the same. Then click
Finish.
