17" Apple LCD Montior + G4 AGP

Can anyone tell me: can I connect a LCD apple monitor (the white/clear style that came out before the latest silver version) to a G4 AGP tower?

Hi-
Welcome to Discussions!
Monitor compatibility is dependant on the graphics card and port configuration.
Without knowing your G4 model, all I can do is ask you to look at the following article, which will help you identify the connections that you have.
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58692
Depending on the monitor, you will need either a DVI or ADC port to connect.

  • Can't get my 30" Apple LCD at full res with the MacBook Pro Retina

    Hey
I've been through a lot of posts and I can't seem to find a solution. I have a 30" Apple LCD monitor but the highest resolution I can get out of it through the MacBook Pro Retina is 1280 x 800. Any suggestions? I have tried holding down option while clicking the scale radio button, no luck.

iPhoto updates through 'software update', not the App Store.

  • Connecting iBook to Apple LCD.

    Hi,
My 2 year old cracked my screen on my iBook several months ago Today, he cracked another section. I can still see 4/5 of the screen, but I do photo editing and I just can't keep doing it like this. I absolutely cannot afford to replace the screen right now.
I have an Apple LCD that came with my G4 Desktop that no longer works for who knows what reason (can't diagnose it myself). What type of connector would I need to convert the wire coming from the desktop monitor to hook it up to my laptop?
    I'm desperate, please help!!
    Thanks
    Candice

    That is not correct.
The iBook has a min-VGA output.
Apple sells the Apple VGA Display Adapter (M8639G/A) which provides a VGA output.
Apple also sells the Apple Video Adapter (M9109G/A) which provides an S-video and composite video output.

  • Apple LCD M7649 Studio Display & Early 2008 MacPro?

Can I connect a 17" Apple LCD M7649 Studio Display with my Early 2008 MacPro?
I have one, and might pic up another, to use as my 3rd and 4th monitors (respectively) on my early 2008 Mac Pro.
I just wanted to know if these would work?
These are the ones that are self powered, and is currently working on my G4 Dual 450 PPC.
    Thanks.

You need an adapter that includes the display power supply.

  • Font rendering issue / Mountain Lion / non Apple LCD display

    Hello
This font rendering issue or problem is probably well know by Apple crew too but nobody has solved it yet. Only poor solution are available such as try to adjust manually font rendering by writin some scripts concerning anti alias levels...they really dont solve the problem.
Could Apple bring us solution to this by developing or updating Mountain Lion?
So what is the problem: font rendering is very poor in Mountain Lion when using non Apple LCD. For example Fujitsu SL27T-1 LED (LCD displa) shows fonts very nice way in Windows but in Mac OS ML does not. Somebody told me that its about software vs. hardware rendering. Dont know about that but could you bring me the solution which is not advising me to buy Apple display (which is five times more expensive than other manufactures displays).

just want to add that overall fonts look blurry and they are not very sharp.

  • Afraid to purchase stand alone 27" apple lcd monitor

That's right. I've had a heck of a time with dead pixels and faded displays with my iMac so against my better half's advice to just call it quits with apple and get another PC, I said why not just get a macpro and buy the apple monitor separately? I realize I'd be spending WAY more than I ever have before but I'm tired of having nothing but issues with my iMac.
So, does anyone know the inside scoop on the LCD panels Apple is using in their iMac's and their new 27"displays? When a tech came out to swap my bad panel out on my iMac I saw a "LG" on the panel.
I'm looking to see if I should avoid apple display's all together if their reliability and quality control just isn't what it should be.

You need the Mini DisplayPort version of the 27" display.

The Thunderbolt version will not work with a Mac Pro.
Mac Pros started coming with Mini DisplayPorts in 2009 but you can install a Mini DisplayPort graphics card in earlier models (if you update to at least Snow Leopard),

  • Compatible non-Apple LCD screens replacement

    Hello,
I have a not working LCD screen and since we can't find anymore LCD screens for our iMac G4, do you know any LCD screen (laptop parts, etc) that is compatible with the iMac G4 ?
I don't know if the TMDS is Apple-specific and is different with screen size. I am looking for a lcd compatible screen for my 17" G4.
    Thanks !

The TMDS looks NOT Apple-specific. It didn't work since it's not the correct screen, but I took apart an Acer Aspire 1340 screen and it has the same connector that fits perfect on the G4 cable (the G4 didn't recognize the screen, someone told me it might be a powering trouble).

  • There are white squares on my screen at the top.  Apple care is telling me I'm out of warranty.  This seems like an Apple LCD screen issue.  The problem seems to be widespread.  How is apple dealing with this.  apple care told me it would cost me 260.00

Apple should be fixing this problem for free.  It is a hardware issue.  Check the Web.  A lot of your customers are having the same problem.  If I have to spend money to fix this I will be choosing a different cell phone provider

That the problem has happened to someone else, or even to a couple of dozen people, does not make it a "widespread problem". Apple has sold millions of iPhones, so even if hundreds have experienced the problem that's still a very small failure rate.
Your iPhone is out of warranty, so you will need to pay for service. If Apple finds this to be a screen issue, in many Apple Stores they can replace the screen for US $149. If it's not a screen issue or your local Apple Store can not yet replace the screen, then Apple replaces the entire iPhone. Those are their policies, and complaining about it, particular here in these user-to-user forums, will accomplish nothing.
You are free to pay some unauthorized shop to attempt repair, or attempt your own repair, if you wish, though you will void any further support from Apple, for any price, if you do.
There is nothing more anyone here can tell you.
    Regards.

  • Inquiry on apple lcd displays

anybody know the amount of time between each new model of diplay apple has put out...also when was the 30" display released, im trying to get a general idea of when apple might update the 30" display

    Hi Thomas,
On the off chance that you believe Apple's previous announcements and timing bear some relation to future ones, which is by no means a surety, MacOS Rumors mains a page showing how long each product line has been since a refresh - http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/

  • Apple LCD 17' & PB 15'

What do I need to connect an Apple 17' monitor to my PowerBook?

    Hi MacWizard --
Your Powerbook has a DVI port. Your unspecified Apple 17" display most likely has an Apple Display Connector (ADC) that carries digital video, USB, and power. If so, then you will need a cable with DVI connectors on both ends, plus an Apple DVI to ADC Adapter.

  • Wall Mount for a 23" (Clear enclosure) Apple LCD Monitor

I've been scouring the net, looking for wall/desk mounting options (like an articulated arm, or even a bracket just to mount it to the wall) for my 23" Apple cinema - NOT THE NEW METAL ONE - the older, clear plastic enclosure type...
The only thing I can find is like $350! Is there anything cheaper out there? I've found the articulating arms, but nothing that mounts to the wall. (Except for Marathon - which is now out of business...)
    Help!
