17-inch to 15-inch: what is the exchange policy?

Hi,
So I recently ordered a MacBook Pro 17-inch laptop (the one released on October 24th) with the following specs:
PROCESSOR     065-C0CD     2.4GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7
MEMORY     065-C09M     4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
HARD DRIVE     065-C0GG     750GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200
OPTICAL DRIVE     065-C09X     8x Double-Layer SuperDrive
DISPLAY     065-C09Y     MBP 17" HR Glossy WS Display
DVI Adapter     065-C0C1     None
VGA Adapter     065-C0C3     None
REMOTE     065-C0C5     None
KEYBOARD AND DOCUMENTATION     065-C0DK     Keyboard/Users Guide
COUNTRY KIT     065-C0DM     Country Kit
I've thought about it, and I would rather exchange this for a 15--inch, which is much more portable but has the same tech specs.
I've called the Apple Store in my area and theyre willing to do an exchange, but I'm not really sure what that entails, and I was too busy this morning to remember to ask.
So would all the tech specs be the same for the 15" MacBook Pro I exchange my 17" for (including the High-Res Display)? What about the extra value of the 17", which costs around $300 more? Can I use that credit towards increasing my RAM, or does that money disappear?
Bonus question: what is a country kit?

Here is Apples return policy: http://store.apple.com/us/open/salespolicies. Also, I would suggest looking elswhere for ram  you can find it much cheaper elsewhere and with a lifetime guarantee: http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Apple_MacBook_MacBook_Pro/Upgrade/DDR3_133 3MHz_SDRAM
Country kit refers to the keyboard..example qwerty for USA azerty for France etc. Also th plug it comes with, as diffrent countries have different style power outlets.
And no Apple will not keep the difference in price: "For returns to an Apple Retail Store for cash, cash equivalent, and check transactions over $250, Apple will mail a refund check to you within 10 business days."

  • What is the External Policy Check in SIM?

    Hi all.
Can anybody tell me what is the External Policy Check for resource in Sun Identity Manager?
Sometimes, when I check the workflow status, I'm observing log entries like that: "Starting the External Policy Check on Resource Name' failed. "
Is it possible to configure these checks?

    Gopala Krishna,
It described the mechanism of a mapping across the borders of a Web Dynpro component. In the example, component A used a component B and for Node 1 of the component controller context of A a mapping was defined to the node of the same name of the interface controller context of component B. Both components are known at design time.

  • What is the return policy for macbook pro in china?

I live in SuZhou, Jiangsu in China. What is the return policy for macbook pro in china? It's been 1 month and I got a main board exchange(repair).

You would need to return it to the Apple Online Store where you purchased it and it would have to be within 14 days. They may limit you to exchange only or charge a restocking fee.
Contact the Apple Online Store to make arrangements.

  • What is the return policy for iPad air. .

What is the return policy for iPad air. I just got this less than a month back. I find I it very hard to use. I hardly used It.

The 14 day return policy is if you bought from Apple. If you bought from another source, it's governed by their return policy.
     Cheers, Tom

  • What is the Exchange 2010 maximum mailbox database size that is support by MS in a single DAG environment?

    My Exchange setup:

12 mailbox databases. The total of all databases combine is about 2TB. The largest mailbox databases are 530GB, 250GB, and 196GB. Are this over the supported recommendations?

2TB, look at the second article but best practice 200GB or less

  • What is the Exchange Internet account?

I opened the Internet Accounts window to connect to my Google account and see something called the Exchange account already set up.  I didn't set this up and want to know what it is so I can decide if I should keep it.  The account shows my gmail address which adds to the confusion.
    Thanks,
    Joel

An Exchange account is for the Microsoft email systems. that could include the MS Outlook.com address or any email provider, corporate or otherwise, that uses the Microsoft Exchange server systems for mail.
You can click on that account and view its details. Do you have any type of account that connects to Microsoft?

  • HT4914 What is the refund policy of I decide to cancel iTunes match?

  • Why no trial? If I don't like, what is the refund policy?

Please provide details of refund policy and process for refund request. I don't want to buy a product that I can't try.
FYI... I am currently evaluating Docudesk PDF Converter, which is working great. I will pay twice what Adobe wants for ExportPDF, for the peace of mind that I am buying something that I can use, without fear of refund hassles.

I bought the product with a trial, and it turned out to be defective.  File too big or something unadvertised like that.  Asking for a refund, otherwise I will chargeback.

  • What is the return policy for products purchased from the US iStore?

Hi. I purchased a product fro  an iStore in New York city (Apple Airport express). Actually required a router and was advised by staff it was a router (it is infact a wifi base station that will plug into an existing router). I'd like to return it/exchange it?

The AirPort Express is a router.  It is not a modem. If you want the AirPort Express router to be able to connect to the Internet, you will need a separate modem to use with the AirPort Express. Check with your Internet Service Provider to see if they can supply you with a modem, or recommend a modem that you could purchase at a store
If I plug my telephone cable into it will it act as an ADSL modem?
    No
Some products, which are called modem/routers or gateways, combine a modem and and a router in one package. If you want a device like this, you should return the AirPort Express for a device of this type.

  • What is the return policy for a certified pre-owned iPhone 4?

I purchased this phone on 3/17/14 online.  The lock button is not working.  It seems to be jammed and I can't turn the phone off.  Has anyone else had this issue and if so please help.  Thanks!

Hi, I ordered the phone via the Verizon website on 3/16/14.  The power/lock button seems to be stuck. I haven't damaged or dropped the phone, it just started doing this on 4/6/14.  I called customer service and they told me to call AppleCare.  I tried calling that but can not get to a person without having to pay $19.00 plus tax.

  • What is the privacy policy of Home Sharing? Why does it require an AppleID?

Do devices using Home Sharing upload any usage information--or for that matter, any data at all--about the files being shared, or the libraries to which they have access? Why is an AppleID required, rather than, for instance, any made-up shared key, the way the Windows Homegroup works?

    Please see my post above.
As far as I can fathom...Apple TV needs permanent Internet connection else it stops. Whilst it may not actively use the connection 100% of time whilst playing (although I do not know this for sure) as soon az the internet goes down so does the Home Sharing and as Apple TV is reliant on Home Sharing and willonly share content via Home Sharing then Apple TV needs permanent Internet.
Also cannot even turn on Apple TV unless it is connected to the network and this does not mean Wifi only it means Wifi with internet sharing turned on.
No one has been able to tell me how they run Apple TV without permanent internet connection.
No one has been able to tell me how they start Apple TV without internet connection.
No one has been able to tell me how, once Apple TV up and running and internet drops out, how they maintain the Apple TV connection.
Again I ask why does Apple TV need a Permanent Internet Connection?

  • What's the refund policy for FC X? "iMovie Extreme" is not a pro app, a waste of money.

Is it possible to uninstall FC X (note I dropped the P - this is not a professional app) and get a refund from Apple? I'd like to get my $299 back because as a working pro I don't edit hobbyist videos and was expecting a professional-grade app. FC X is anything but professional and certainly not usable in its current form.

  • What are the returns policy for iPads bought on finance (UK)?

I have the same dilemma as many (apparently), which iPad to have the air or the Mini with retina. The form factor of the mini is very very appealing, but as I do a lot of photography and photography processing, the small colour gamut is quite a large disappointment as it's quite apparent to me. I had a 'play' with the air in store last night and decided on the air, but they didn't have the 32GB grey in stock so left without one. I got home and used my wife's Mini with retina all night and I had a change of heart and loved the size of the mini. However, the colour issue still bugs me.
So the long and short of it is that I'm still as confused as ever, I really need therapy lol
My latest thoughts are to get the Air from apple and give it a trial run in day to day living (using in store is not a true representation of usage imo) knowing that apple have a no quibble 14 day returns policy, and if I do decide I prefer the rMini after all I can swap it. I'm not sure how I feel about this morally though
Does anyone know if the same returns in terms of ease of return and conditions applies to those bought on finance (UK)?

    Hi Patrick,
Yes, we definately support migration to 2008 from Crystal Server XI R2. You can log a ticket with SAP regarding your technical issue and after which you will be able to get technical support from us.
