17 or 20
I am buying an imac and i was wondering if i should get a 17 or 20 inch. what advantages does the 20 inch have over the 17. i am going to use it mainly for music recording and editing as well as a little bit of movie editing and word processing.
the bigger hard drive in the 20 inch does not interest me as i already have a good quality external hard drive. thanks
I've had both the 17" and 20" and can tell you from experience the 20" is soooo much nicer. It is easily worth the extra $300 just for larger screen real estate, IMHO. You just have more room to put things on the screen and see more at once. The extra hard drive space is just icing on the cake. Plus I have read many users with fan noise problems with the 17" model, but much less problems with noise with the 20". They are designed differently inside, with the 20" having more room to move the air and they are not as noisy.
