1751 and WIC-2AM

Hello!
I try to use a Cisco 1751 with a WIC-2AM card, but the IOS doesn't recognize it.
After booting i got the following:
00:00:06: %PQUICC-1-UNKNOWN_WIC: PQUICC(0), WIC card has an unknown ID of 0x37"
I checked that WIC-2AM supported by 1751.

Hi,
Use the following link for the solution.

  • WIC-2am analog module as a back up interface for adsl

    dear all
im planning to take adsl link in my branch for vpn connectivity. The router will be 1841 and planning to put wic-1 adsl but in case if my adsl link is down i need connectivity so for that im planning to put one wic-2AM card and connect a PSTN line to it, so that it will dial to the provider and my people in branch can continue working.
this is my plan.so when the adsl come up will this wic-2AM will shut down and adsl will come up? can i configure in that way?
    kindly suggest.

If you are using netctl, something like the following may work:
    # /etc/systemd/system/eth0_phy.service
    [Unit]
    Description=Custom phy setting for eth0
    Before=[email protected]
    [Service]
    Type=oneshot
    RemainAfterExit=yes
    ExecStart=ethtool -s eth0 speed 100 duplex full autoneg off
    ExecStop=ethtool -s eth0 autoneg on
    [Install]
    RequiredBy=[email protected]
Install the above file, then run
    systemctl daemon-reload
    netctl reenable eth0
    netctl restart eth0
That said, there is probably an underlying hardware problem which will continue to make the link unreliable. Since autonegotiation succeeds with a different link partner, I would suspect the router. Did you try a different port on the router?

  • Different between 2 a/s and WIC-2T

Hi another simple question what are the difference between, 2 a/s and WIC-2T?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi
The basic difference is the maximum speed the cards can support like WIC 2 A/S cards normally support 64K and a max speed of 128K.
But in the other hand WIC 2T can support a max speed of 2048K.
for more functional and operational differences do check out this supporting doc..

  • ISDN dial-in with Cisco 1721 and WIC-1B-S/T

    Hi there,
we use a Cisco 1721 with a WIC-1B-S/T interface for ISDN backup purposes. I configured the Cisco 1721 and connected the BRI-WIC to a ISDN channel. When I try to test the ISDN connection, I always get the error that the line protocol is down. The WIC is connected to the ISDN correctly. I do not understand why the line protocol is always down. Could anybody help? The chosen encapsulation is PPP, the ISDN Switch Type is basic-1tr6 (I think thats the right one for Germany). The IOS version is 12.4 (1c).

    Hi there,
the BRI interface is connected to a telephone system and not directly to a NTBA. The hostname matches the username, is this right? When I try to dial out, I get this messages:

  • VoIP and wic-1b s/t

    Good day!
I was wondering if there's a way to put on a VoIP gatway using a wic-1b s/t instead of using a bri nt/te and a dsp...
    Thanks a lot!

    Nope,
You always need a DSP for conversion unless we are just routing voip traffic.

  • Could Cisco 1701 ADSL Router supports WIC-1ENET Card.

    Hi,
I need advise as to if a Cisco 1701 ADSL router could support WIC-1ENET Card.
My 1701 Router has WIC 0 as ADSL and WIC 1 as ISDN, could the ADSL card be replaced by a WIC-1ENET. I noticed ,that the cards seems to be rivet onto the back of the Router and not connected with SCREWS as other routers would posses.
Could someone advised as to how i can have this router supports 2 Ethernet NICs or what could be your recommendations?
    Thank you,
    Cisco End User.

    Hello,
the WIC-1ENET is supported on the 1701, but, AFAIK, only in slot 0.
It does not support 2 WIC-1ENET cards, only the 1720, 1750, and 1751 do, with a specific IOS release, check out this info from CCO:
WIC-1ENET- Support for two Ethernet WICs
The Ethernet WIC (WIC-1ENET) provides the capability to deploy additional Ethernet port(s) in a Cisco 1700 series routers. The initial release of the WIC-1ENET supported only one WIC-1ENET card in a 1700 router. The new IOS 12.2(2)XJ release offers the option of deploying up to two WIC-1ENET adapters in a Cisco 1720, 1750, or 1751 router. A total of three Ethernet ports can be configured. A typical application that requires three Ethernet ports involves using the built-in 10/100 Fast Ethernet port for LAN segment. One of the WIC-1ENET port could be used for high-speed broadband DSL or cable modem connection. The second WIC-1ENET port could be used for a DMZ (demilitarized zone) environment for deploying public Web servers or FTP servers. Hardware modification is not necessary to use the capability of IOS 12.2(2)XJ. The new IOS software is compatible with WIC-1ENET adapters already installed in 1700 series routers.

  • How to install 2-port vic3 2fxs/DID and 2-port vic2 fxo on cisco 2801 router

    Hello
I'm looking for information on how to install 2 newly purchased cards  and keep running into dead links. The cards I bought are for a  CISCO-2801-CCME/K9 with PVDM2-8, FL-CCME-25, SP Services 128F/256D cisco  router:
    vic3 2fxs/DID and a vic2 2fxo.
I keep finding documents on how to  install these cards but all links are dead and leading to nowhere.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/access/interfaces/ic/hardware/installation/guide/2port_FXS_DID_VIC.html#wp1065062
The  2 documents i'm looking for are: how to install a 2-port vic2 fxo cards on cisco  2801 router and how to install 2-port vic3 2fxs/DID cards on the same 2801 cisco  router.
NOTE: I've never installed these cards and am not sure if:
Does my  ios support both of these cards?
and which slots do I install those in the  router.
I have 4 slots like this:
slot 0: This slot only accepts VIC's   ***This could be used for the vic3 2fxs/DID card correct?
slot 1: Nothing  written here  ****What can i install in this slot?
slot 2: This slot only  accepts VIC's and WIC's  ***If I buy a WIC and install here which other slot can  i install my VIC2-2FXO card in ?
slot 3: Nothing written here  ***What can i  install in this slot?
Any chance someone can help me out with this.
    Thanks  very much

    Ok
I was able to figure out what goes where and found out that the IOS i had c-2801-spservicesk9-mz.124-15.T10.bin with cme-full-4.1.0.2 tar didn't support the vic3 2fxs/DID card. I then found the one that works which is the c2801-spservicesk9-mz.124-22.YB5.bin.I am now able to see my new hardware interfaces. The question I have now is since the previous version ran with cme-full-4.1.0.2 tar i'm not sure if this needs to be changed since in the compatibility matrix i found this IOS c2801-spservicesk9-mz.124-22.YB5.bin to be compatible with cme-full-7.1.0.0 tar
Do i need to remove cme-full-4.1.0.2 tar and install the cme-full-7.1.0.0 tar?
If yes, i know how to install the cme-full-7.1.0.0 tar but how do i remove the other cme-full-4.1.0.2 tar file in order to be able to install the other version?
    Thanks

  • Visio Blank WICs / Modules

I've been searching high and low for a "blank" stencil to fill in module and WIC areas of a 2821 router that I'm diagraming.  Does anyone have any suggestions or a link to where I can get a hold of something that will work?  It seems that Cisco is somewhat lax lately on their visio stencil offerings.
    Thanks all!

    HI Nick,
The reason you cannot easily ungroup that image is because, as part of the production process, we convert the Visio geometry to Enhanced Metafile Image (emf) format and embed it in a Visio shape.  There are several reasons for this including:
Improve performance when dragging, dropping, resizing, and moving shapes
Maintain proportional text font size when resizing
Every piece of Visio geometry and text has a ShapeSheet behind it which contains data about the shape's contents, size, postition, formatting, etc.  When a device shape is rendered with the level of detail we apply, the simple act of moving a shape will produce a lag because every geometric object's ShapeSheet is recalculationg.  When we convert it to a .emf image, it is still a vector image (as opposed to bitmapped or pixel image) so it remains sharp.  However, Visio does not need to handle all of those calculations since it's just an image with one ShapeSheet behind it.
When you ungroup the shape, Visio breaks up the metafile image back to individual geometric objects but it does not conserve all of the original information that went into the source Visio drawing of the device that was converted to metafile.  Therefore you often see unexpected results.
OK, so that's why you are having trouble ungrouping.  The key question is that you need something that's missing from the stencils.  I've run a blank cover plate shape for you and it's been uploaded to
https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-22049.  This shape will not be in the official Routers-Cisco 2900.vss on the download page until the next revision to that product stencil.  I hope this is helpful.

  • 2811 w/ WIC-1ADSL-I-DG PPPoA issue

    Hello:
I have been trying to test our new office gear prior to move, specifically the DSL WIC card.
It seems I have all the config correct but I fail to negotiate link and I am not getting much info from a debug standpoint leading me to believe: -1- PPP isn't quite set up correctly -2- the WIC is possibly bad.
Would it be possible for someone to review my config since I can find nothing on the web that serves as a decent example of using this WIC card with Qwest?
    DETAILS:
Info pulled from my old Actiontec modem for testing purposes:
    VPI/VCI = 0/32
    DSL Mode = MMODE
    DSL Negotiated Mode = T1.413
    Up/down = 7168/896
    ATM QoS class = UBR
The connection is doing PPPoA, evidently it is using PAP per my ISP (qwest does the local loop, my own ISP the VC termination and routing)
    Cisco 2811 and WIC setup:
    interface ATM0/1/0
description QWEST DSL - circuit id:
    no ip address
    no ip mroute-cache
    shutdown
    no atm ilmi-keepalive
    dsl operating-mode auto
    dsl enable-training-log
    pvc 0/32
    encapsulation aal5mux ppp dialer
    dialer pool-member 1
    interface Dialer1
    ip address negotiated
    encapsulation ppp
    dialer pool 1
    ppp authentication pap
    ppp pap sent-username <username_goes_here> password 0 <passwd_goes_here>
Additionally, it would be helpful if you provided what all the 'Modem States' are. For example, Modem state = 0x8 is in many docs but you don't say anything about 0x3. Its helpful to know all the codes for Modem state if your going to recommend doing debugs of atm events for troubleshooting. Hence, the post to the forum. I can't get link and everything appears to be set up properly.
    Thanks for the insight/answers.

No, I am afraid we don't do ADSL over ISDN. My boss ordered the equipment and I think the reseller wasn't too bright.
So would I be correct that I am going to have to have a WIC-1ADSL or a HWIC-1ADSL?
I see that this ADSL over ISDN card we have currently does support T1.413, but given I can't get link I am guessing that is only T1.413 when over ISDN so I have to use one of the other types of WICs listed above if this is over POTS.
If someone from Cisco or otherwise can confirm that would be great so I can go ahead and get the right card shipped to us ASAP.
    Thanks for the assist,
    -Jeff
Thanks for pointing that out. I suspected it might be the issue but have not ordered or touched many DSL WICs in my day, only the bigger chassis's that terminate the traffic on the provider end.

  • WIC-1ENET 1700 doesnt want to work

I have a 1720 router and a WIC-1ENET when i first installed the Card it worked fine but my software package didnt have inter-vlan communication so i have upgraded to several different Options (i picked out software that cisco said could work with my router and wic card) but now i keep getting this error message
"%PQUICC-1-UNKNOWN_WIC: PQUICC(0), WIC card has an unknown ID of 0x39"
i am fairly new to all of this but thats why i got it so if anyone has any ideas let me know
    Also i'm running c1700-k9o3sy-mz.122-26
    Thanks

    Cisco WIC-1ENET Software Requirements
The Cisco WIC-1ENET card requires Cisco IOS Release 12.2(2)XJ or later if the card is installed in any WIC slot other than slot 0 or if more than one card is installed.
The card can be used with Cisco IOS Release 12.2(4)T, but the card must be installed in slot 0 and only one Cisco WIC-1ENET card can be installed in the router.

  • 1751 VPN

    Hi,
I need to configure a Cisco 1751 ADSL/VPN router for a site to site VPN to a VPN 3000 concentrator located in overseas. I have the following question.
    1. What information should I gether from the VPN 3000 concentrator.
    2. Should I manually configure the Cisco 1751 or get the configuration done
on the VPN 3000 concentrator and upload to the Cisco 1751 router.
    3. How can I get the 3DES and activate to the Cisco 1751 router.
I hope someone can advice. Thanks

    Hi,
    1. You need to gather info on Isakmp Policy, IPSec Policy, Pre-shared key and
networks that you want to encrypt. You can refer the below URL which explains
about setting up an IPSec Tunnel between VPN3000 and Router.
    http://www.cisco.com/warp/customer/471/ALTIGAR.shtml
    2. The Cisco 1751 and Cisco VPN3000 are two different platforms and that said, you need to configure the 1751 manually.
    3. You need an IOS Image that supports 3DES and this can be downloaded from Cisco's Software Center provided you are authorised to do so.
    Regards,
    Arul

what does the dates and the times on the data sheet mean?

        marcus19541
We definitely want to make sure that your data usage reporting is clear so you can monitor everything clearly! The timestamps that appear when viewing your data usage details on My Verizon may not be the exact time that data was completely used. The corresponding usage and time reflect usage from between the last report and the one you're reviewing.
For example, say there was a report for 312MB at 2AM and the report right before that was for 100MB at 6PM. The 312MB were used between the 6PM report and the 2AM of it's own time stamp.

  • ISDN Backup without ISDN Line

    Hello,
I have big problem. My client has to have ISDN back-up but there is no possibility to get ISDN line to my client location. Router has WIC 1B S/T and should call in to the another router with PRI interface when there is a problem with main line (FR).
How can I resolve this problem?? Where can I plug ISDN line?
    Best regards,
    Jarek

    Hi Jarek,
If there is no ISDN service where the remote site is then you will have to forget about using ISDN backup from that particular site.
Your best way to get dial backup would be to use something like a WIC-1AM or WIC-2AM (analog modem WICs) at the remote site, connected to normal POTS phone lines. You would then need to install some digital modems into the router with the PRI (NM-6DM etc). In this way the analog modems can dial into the PRI, whereby the PRI router will direct the call internally to the digital modems.
This won't give as good a performance as a BRI ISDN circuit, but it will at least allow you to implement a dial backup solution.
    Hope that helps.

    Hello,
for the ISDN connections, you could use the 'dialer caller' (or 'isdn caller' for legacy dialer profiles); not sure if something similar exists for analog connections...

  • SharePoint 2013 Workflow Calendar Entry Create Time AM PM Conflict

    Windows 2012, SharePoint 2013 Enterprise.
I have a change control form that basically creates a calendar entry once it's been approved. Works well, but discovered a bug with the calendar create portion when there are events that have the same time in AM\PM.
    Use case:
    1. Create a change control item in the list with a planned start time of 2PM, I'll approve it, which then fires off a workflow and it will create an event in the change control calendar for 2PM, all good.
    2. Create another change control item in the list with a planned start time of 2AM this time, I'll approve it, which then fires off a workflow and it will create an event in the change control calendar for 2PM and not 2AM. ???
Yes the original event entry created in the list shows planned start time of 2AM, but its being created in the calendar entry as 2PM. This only happens when the time is exact. For example if I had created the second entry at 3PM, it will create the calendar
entry at 3PM. It only happens if there is an existing entry for the same time, then all subsequent entries for the same time will have the same AM\PM depending on the first entry.
I can manually create an entry in the calendar and specify 2PM and it will take, so its something with the workflow that is causing it. The workflow is very simple all its doing is checking the item to see if the field says approved for the change request
form if so, create calendar event and carry over the fields, planned start time, planned end time, title description, that's it.
